Lucknow: The makeshift office of Echonomic Times is slowly being dismantled in the heart of the city. The three cheerleaders of Samajwadi Party and part-time Echonomic Times reporters- Varadha, Mohini and Manav, were stuck in nostalgia thinking of their happy days in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Wiping the tears lingering over her eye corner, Varadha said, “It has been an excellent coverage of events for the past few months. I lost track of days ever since I was given the assignment of covering Samajwadi party.. oops… UP elections. UP has become my second home. Now, when I’m told to leave the state, I feel so heavy. Can’t we have a re-election in Uttar Pradesh soon?”

Consoling Varadha, the lead of the cheerleading gang, Mohini appeared shaken but not stirred, “Samajwadi Party has a global presence. If Akhilesh Yadav can make Lucknow a New York, next he can go to France and make Paris a Lucknow. We have to get rid of the saffron wave in France and only an alliance between SP-BSP-Congress can wipe out the communal right wing there. I heard that Hollande had provided free land for Burnet Coldman University there.”

Manav who was listening to both approached us with a surprised tone. “If SP is going to contest in French elections,” he started, “does it mean we are going to have our next assignment in Paris? Yippie!”, for which Varadha replied, “I too heard that French people has a nose for everything and so they would elect a more prominent nose.”

While this was all happening in the foreground, the manager of the team had already removed the entire office in the background. Speaking to us, the manager of the cheerleading leader said, “Chalo! Crap happens. We thought it might be an SP sweep, but now it is an SP weep. How can we go and face Akhilesh ji now? So, here we are packing our stuff back to Delhi. By the way, our Election analysis is much like our Economic analysis.”
