Islam:A call for Renaissance

It has been a widespread outrage over Belgium terrorist attack.

However, the presence of Muslim voice has been observed somewhat lower.

There have been a few instances when there is a loud, explicit, massive protest in the Islamic countries as well as in the whole world that condemns any such inhuman, brutal attacks with one voice.

Muslims would require not only taking a clear stand on such attacks, but also standing up against all such that has been perhaps more insulting and embarrassing to noble Muslims majorly all over the world.

Any such terrorist activity aimed to meet evil goals is undoubtedly far from any religious teaching and remains light years backwards in understanding core spiritual values and basic human code of conduct.

Terrorist activities have been in fact taking toll of Muslims on a larger part. Incidents of terror sow seeds of distrust against the whole community and a great embarrassment for the Muslim community.

But, the world has to be assured of the strong mindset and committed actions by Muslim fraternity.

It is the very urgent need of an hour where Muslims religious leaders, top notch people across social-political arena and common people would have to unite in generating a confident conscience in the world to take stringent actions against eradicating not only the extremist Islamic organizations but also by finding the root cause of the jihadi mentality and correcting the mindset of Islamic youth and fraternity to adapt to the changing world.

Generalization is crime. Sadly, that is how a community is perceived many a time. What would be the ratio of people involved in terrorist activities versus the Muslims Leading a normal lives; perhaps even less than 0.01% of all Muslims might have involved directly/indirectly in destructive activities. On the other hand, It has been becoming undeniable that majority of the terrorist organizations across the world possess Islamic identity and are thriving under concept of PAN-Islamism.

The larger parts of Muslim leaders who deliberately keep silence over such heinous acts are perhaps unknowingly adding fuel to likelihood of more such events and such leaders can be deemed primarily responsible for the embarrassment caused to Islamic world.

Irrespective of any government, be it any govt, i.e. Indian govt., US govt.,UK govt. ,France or any such administration that takes vow to fight tight against any such crimes; the grass root work will have to be carried out by Muslims only to strengthen the true faith and wipe out unscrupulous Jihad against the innocent people. The examples of strict punishments of course do serve as a strong deter; the mammoth changes in the ideology and education of Islamic youth will have to be initiated by Muslim leaders.

In comparison to Hinduism and Christianity, why Islam has seen the least number of protestant events in Islam, this can be a critical introspection. Each religion demands internal reformation and to bring the change; Islamic world will have to awake. Each religion has to save itself from inside elements those are detrimental to the very ethos of that religion and righteous living. Today, Islam has to be saved from Islam.

This is a time for introspection especially for Muslims as why Islam has seen the maximum conflicts, bloodsheds within Islam itself along with that of with non Islamists.

The righteous people of Islam have to initiate the renaissance. Muslims have to hear the Muslims first to make peace within Islamic ideological differences and followers of them.

A joint collaboration and dedicated efforts of Muslim religious leaders, social workers and awakened citizens has to take onus of correcting the ocean of faith into the right direction by channelizing religious sentiments in right direction and by empowering the society and the nation they breathe in.

Muslims have also been great victims of these terrorist activities; this truth has to be understood earlier whoever want to steer the direction of Islam towards peaceful co-existence of it with other religions and nations across the world.

As far as the Indian context is concerned, Muslim brothers and sisters have to identify and understand the secular corruption prevailing in majority of media and in the parties those have been gravely fake promoters of the Majority-Minority divide in India. The deliberate manufacturing of imaginary insecurity and excessive, fulsome and one way secularism has helped in nothing but in increasing divide amongst Hindus and Muslims.

The gang of pseudo secularists in political parties and majority of Indian media are quite widespread and these are the people who fashionably call themselves liberal fundamentalists and are enthusiastic enough to preserve the human rights of terrorists. These liberal fundamentalists along with terrorists are in fact enemies to Islam. The liberal fundamentalists and synthetic seculars are supremely selective while condemning religious fanatism. The common Indian secular liberal is more keen and enthusiastic in Hindu bashing.

Indian typical secular liberal animals fail to create a balanced view while discussing religious tolerance.

This ugly disposition has led to numerous conflicts in Indian society ;so much so as upto the extent of complete change of demographic balance in Assam. Rather than considering Muslims as normal citizens of this country; they have been treated as a vote bank that has been the prime reason for disturbances in not only Assam, but also at PAN India. Such phenomenon is an alarm where just to encash votes; an imbalance is invited in terms of native inhabitants and intruders from Bangladesh if we see at Assam..

Projecting secularism as the only duty and responsibility of Hindus by most political parties and not getting due response to the generosity of Hindus have inculcated feelings of extreme fatigue and helplessness in the Hindu fraternity gradually post-independence. The Indian people have to unite anyhow; if not by love and mutual understanding; then even by as being the recipients of common pain and issues that we face as a country. Even after being the citizens of one country and having common civilizational heritage can’t bring us together; then it is least to expect of religious beliefs to make us come closer.

The Muslim fraternity has to listen to scattered progressive Muslim voice across India and world. There have already been Muslims ideals to look at. Dr.Kalam was the epitome of ideal secularism and a rare Indian gem with sublime Indian culture infused in him. Every Hindu and Indian is proud of him. Scholars and leaders such as Tufail Ahmed, Dr.Arif Mohammad Khan and many such progressive, sharp, generous voices have to be heard by all, especially by Muslims. The pain of Islamic scholars is that they are least heard and paid attention to where they are actually required the most.

Muslim fraternity has to stand up for the national issues such as poverty, education, health and sanitation and understand that these are the common concerns of Indian society irrespective of religious identities and requires attention from the all walks of people. Active voice and participation in the national and international issues should be collective responsibility of all.

It is required that the sound of ‘terrorism has no religion’ and ‘terrorists are enemy of humanity’ should be loud enough from Islam and from people of all religions together followed by the concrete, immediate action in terms of elevating the psyche of the people, educating them to contribute to their motherland and religion in co-existing manner.
