We are increasingly worried about the impression that the Supreme court is giving to us about total lack of awareness about the various subversive forces that are operating in the country and their modus operandi.

Terrorism aims to overthrow a legitimate government using violence to create a climate of fear and uncertainty. It is driven by political objectives despite exploitation of regional, national and religious sentiments to achieve its goal. 

What Congress leaders stooped to and trivializing one of the biggest breach was more shocking, they were actually enjoying and making fun of what happened in Punjab. They were so low in their comments; they didn’t realize that they were trivializing such a grave situation.

There have been a total of 552 cases of Internet shutdown in India, from 2012 till the end of 2021 with the longest shutdown being coincidentally of the same number 552 days in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. This being a preventive shutdown, the beginning saw restriction on landline and mobile services as well. Preventive shutdowns, which are imposed in anticipation of an event, have been increasing exponentially in the country since 2016. In the year 2021 there were just 3 cases of reactive shutdown, which are imposed to curtail an existing law and order situation but 42 cases of preventive shutdowns. 

Is regionalism a threat to nationalism?

The passing of Foreign Contribution Regulation (Amendment) act, 2020 in both houses of parliament added a new pillar in Indian security. The recent amendment reflects government’s vision and determination to tighten the existing loopholes in security related laws.
