India after Narendra Modi's government
7 years of Modi: Modi may not be perfect but his critics continue to fantasize in their imperfection
This is a much more transparent government than any other, and the government under Modi has probably done the most for poor people and inclusive development.
It would be a mistake to think that it's the hatred for Modi that such arguments are cropping up now. No. Actually, Modi is standing in for all of us, the entire lower strata of the society, the subalterns.
It won't be Modi or Shah or Nadda or Ghosh or Supriyo or Adhikari who would be at the receiving end of this horrific manslaughter but the common, poor men and women who dared to vote for their party.
It is time for India and Asia to recognize that Western criticism which may sometimes hold a mirror, can often be a legacy of colonialism.
There is a narrative being pushed by ‘intellectuals’ in India that Modi and the Hindu movement in general pose a threat to this fundamental pillar of India’s Democracy. That narrative is laughable and deeply flawed.
