Hindi rejection in southern states

यह जो हिन्दी मीडियम और अंग्रेजी मीडियम की दीवार है यहीं होती है ‘Inferiority Complex’ की शुरुआत। क्योंकि लोगों को लगता है कि अंग्रेजी भाषा में हिंदी, राजस्थानी, मराठी या किसी अन्य प्रदेश की भाषा से रोजगार की तुलना में अधिक अवसर हैं।

वर्ष 1949 में हिंदी को हमारे देश में सर्वोच्च दर्जा प्राप्त हुआ और तब से हिंदी को हमारी राष्ट्रभाषा माना जाता है, भले ही हिंदी को राष्ट्रभाषा का दर्जा दे दिया गया हो लेकिन आज भी वह अपने अस्तित्व को बनाए रखने के लिए संघर्ष कर रही है। इस संघर्ष पर विराम क्यों नहीं लग रहा?

I request you to think about the idea of installing statues of Kannada poet Sarvjana from Karnataka, Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar from, Malayalam poet Poonathanam from Kerala, Telugu poet Yogi Vemana from Andhra Pradesh at the various locations in Delhi.

The issue of language has been a big hindrance in the path of constructive discussions on other issues in education system of this country.

If the Centre’s introduction is political, Tamil Nadu’s resisting it is also political. As a matter of fact, the Tamil parties are playing politics of language chauvinism.

It must be kept in mind that every language is equal and as important as other. It is not only Tamil’s duty but also ours to preserve this ancient language.

And to say that Hindi should not be a unifying language of the country is like saying every state should have it's own National Anthem in it's own native tongue!

If the majority of people in Tamil Nadu decide to believe DMK’s cock and bull story, then people of the state are the most gullible population in the world.

The hatred spread by the guardians of 'Tamils' for Hindi and Hindi speaking people is so much that the state people are not willing to learn Hindi just as a language.

यदि हम इसी तरह भाषाई मामलों पर तल्‍खी लाते रहे तो वह दिन दूर नहीं जब भारत के हालात भी यूरोप जैसे हो जाए। इसलिए एक स्‍थायी देश के निर्माण के लिए समाजवाद और राष्‍ट्रवाद दोनों जरूरी हैं, भाषाई विवाद नहीं।
