Lutyens are opposing Nationalism, because they’re scared of this

0

The growing nationalism is a good sign for any country, but some people are opposing it. What is so fearful with nationalism? India is a country where people are divided in many ways, based on religion, caste, language, areas. There is much diversity but unity in diversity is for what India is known. But it took bad shape when the politics grow up on these bases, political parties setup based on caste and religions.

If I say in one line- Nationalism is a cure for Casteism in Hindus, and Radicalization in Muslims.

The more feeling of nationalism grows in people, the more people will come together. This will end the politics on casteism, religion and will stop some NGO who gather money on these bases.

An advice from the youth to Congress: Bring in new ideas on board instead of newer members of the family into politics

0

Today’s youth is far different than what it was 20 years ago. Lot more interested in governance, politics, and with the advent of digital media, there is plenty of information available. With the General Elections around the corner, naturally the question on everyone’s mind is which political party is a favourable option. For the majority of the youth as well as myself, factors which distinguish a political party and make it favourable is the vision and dream it offers and whether it can build a connect with the youth of today.

The BJP over the past five years has offered a vision towards building a future, a New India where the aim is to scale new heights. This is backed by schemes, policies and programs across different sectors. A few which come to my mind are focusing on digital governance to improve lives of citizens, promoting the start up culture in our nation, providing LPG connections to poor women and aspiring for every Indian to have a house by 2022.

When I was a teenager, I witnessed the Anna Hazare movement against widespread corruption as compared to today’s day and age where corruption has reduced. Similarly, from 2004-2014 the Prime Minister’s Office was inaccessible but now with the use of technology we can reach out directly to the Prime Minister.

Segments of society do complain that the government has not delivered on all that it has promised. Bill Shankly’s quote ‘Aim for the sky and you’ll reach the ceiling. Aim for the ceiling and you’ll stay on the floor’, seems apt in the current scenario. For today’s youth what matters is the sincere attempt which has been made and efforts being undertaken to translate this into reality, with considerable success.

In contrast, the Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi have not yet delivered a vision for our nation in the future. The Congress Party is merely relying on the idea of criticizing one man and voicing out problems. For example, Rahul Gandhi has attacked the current government over lack of job creation time and time again but is yet to offer a solution to the same. Therefore the question posed to the party by a lot of youngsters is that to view the Congress as an alternative to the BJP, what plan do they have in store ? To which there is no answer which stems from the lack of thought and vision.

At best, the plan offered by the Congress is anti-industry, laden with loan waivers and freebies. In my opinion, this politics of poverty will only take India back to 70’s where economic growth had stagnated and unemployment was at an all-time high, where as today’s youth aspires for high economic growth and prosperity.

This brings me to my next reason, being the Congress Party’s disconnect with the youth of today. Rahul Gandhi is almost 20 years younger than the Prime Minister but still appears to be off course while trying to connect with the younger generation. Whereas the Prime Minister seems in sync with the problems and aspirations of my generation. The youth of India does not want the sympathy of any political leader but in fact wants opportunities and a platform to showcase their talent, skill and potential. It wants to succeed on merit, on the basis of their abilities which is in contrast to the Congress Party where only recently another member of the first family has been yet again parachuted into politics.

Now that it has been a month since Priyanka Gandhi has entered politics, a stark observation comes to my mind highlighting the difference between political parties in India today. When Narendra Modi was chosen as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 election, there was an excitement about his policies, schemes and ideas that he was to bring to the table. Whereas when Priyanka Gandhi’s entry was announced, all that has been covered by the media is her striking similarity to her grandmother and the fact that yet another member of the Gandhi family has taken a plunge into politics after several years of indecisiveness. Members from the older generations may form a connect with someone who has a resemblance to leaders from previous eras but for today’s generation, this does not make an impact. The youth’s advice to the Grand Old Party would be to bring in new ideas on board instead of newer members of the family into politics.

If India is to brace the challenges of the 21st century like possibilities of a global economic slowdown, trade wars between superpowers, intrinsic security challenges and the threat to jobs posed by artificial intelligence, a political party with a plan and vision which will maximize the potential of the demographic dividend offered by India is most likely to be favored by the youth. With the BJP ticking both these boxes, it appears to be the most favourable option for the youth in 2019.

Is SP-BSP Gathbandhan a mistake based on Pure Airthmetic?

0

Both SP and BSP parties are two different side of a coin, which was not supposed to be at one side, Both parties did hate politics for decades against each other. Now coming together, will they able to perform arithmetic on ground, or it will be a chemistry.

Why the Gathbandhan will fail

When two different and opposite thinking parties come together they both need to sacrifice much, which we saw not happening.

Also there is a simple another fact here, every person has his choices, assume a person first choice is candidate from SP and his second choice is candidate from BJP or Congress, but in this seat there is no candidate of SP, who will he vote? why should he vote for BSP? May be SP will convince their voter but there will be still about 30-40% people who will not vote for BSP. This is the beauty of democracy,

Another example, there are these 3 candidates (names are not of real candidate) who fought against each other in last election, now what will happen in this election.

  1. Manoj from SP
  2. Sanjay from BSP
  3. Yuvraj from BJP

Lets assume BSP candidate who will fight on a particular seat.

Now I am voter, I know all these 3 person, why shouldn’t I know? they are fighting for M.P seat from my city. ok!

Manoj is my first choice and my 2nd choice is Yuvraj. Now manoj is not fighting election, why will I vote for Sanjay? when I know Yuvraj would be also a good person. Now one thing Manoj and Sanjay always spoke against each other, how can they go to people and ask vote for each other? i.e. yesterday I came to you and told you that Sanjay is a bad person, today I am saying Sanjay is a good person, what will happen? That person will lost his credibility.

Gathbandhan which happened only because media reports, as Mayawati ji once spoke about it her press conference, arithmetic.

They forgot the reality on ground and the hate they spread against each others from decades. Both parties already spread hate against each other in their votebank, and hates of decades in people mind will not go away easily.

It is also interesting here to see on what common ground both parties are working to bring people together. Only one policy I see is “Remove Modi”, but what are they doing to remove? Nothing. They are still fighting each other in Court of law.

Last time when SP-BSP came together and they won, because both parties showed the love towards each other. They let people believe in each other. But this time nothing like this seems happening.

From the death and decay of congress, DMK has grown and victorious

0

Why did the DMK president propose the name of Rahul Gandhi as the prime minister candidate of the united opposition? Both Stalin and Rahul Gandhi fully know that the above proposal would not get support even from congress party but still why did Stalin made such political adventure?

The answer is simple. DMK does not want to lose the congress to other regional parties in Tamil Nadu who were competing to ally with congress. Stalin knows that he is fighting a tough battle against the shrewdest political leader, E Palanisamy who is the present chief minister of Tamil Nadu as well as Narendra Modi, the most popular and admired political leader of India who is incorrupt, development centric, against dynastic politics and nepotism.

Although the coronation of Stalin as president of DMK was smooth as DMK was always a family establishment from the day Anna died and Dr. MGR was thrown out of party because MGR questioned some of the corrupt practices of Karunanidhi. So there is nothing great in the coronation of Stalin as the president of DMK as it was his birth right to take over the family establishment from his father.

Several surveys (might have been done at the behest of DMK) done in Tamil Nadu in the recent past have shown a clean sweep for DMK if election were held. Actually all such surveys must have boosted the confidence DMK but in fact DMK looked rattled today to face the election. Post RK Nagar debacle, Stalin is very skeptical of victory as he doesn’t enjoy great acceptance in the state and support even in the party.

In order to prevent the congress party moving towards either Kamal Hassan or TTV Dinakaran, Stalin would have proposed the name of Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate of the united opposition. Stalin knew fully well that his proposal will certainly please Sonia Gandhi the most and thereby he can ensure congress ally with DMK and not with any other party. Stalin wants congress to its side to put up a decent fight. Although congress does not have any support base in TN, but at national level, congress as a party has still some symbolic value. Stalin wants to use that symbolic value to win the forthcoming parliamentary election.

If we carefully study the history of DMK, its birth and growth, it was the congress that had ensured the victory of DMK. When Hindi language was introduced as the national language by then Nehru government, DMK capitalized the anti-Hindi protest and evoked Tamil nationalism to galvanize its vote bank. DMK also converted the acute shortage of rice in the early 1960’s and thereby came to power in 1967 by demolishing the congress party.

After the death of Kamaraj, the central leadership of congress party had never cared to develop the party in the state but was happy to settle with either DMK or AIADMK for a few parliamentary seats so that the congress can remain in power at the centre and from the centre it can whip the regional parties that fail to wag its tail to congress government.

DMK however made sure that the power was never shared with the congress party in the state.  Although the leaders like Dindivanam Ramamurthy persuaded the congress high command to demand for power sharing in the state with congress, the central leadership of congress was unwilling which had progressively destroyed the congress party in the state.

But today things look different for DMK. DMK need the congress party more than the congress party is in need of DMK.

The leadership of Stalin lack charisma, vision, wisdom, maturity or enthusiasm. Even the DMK party men are not so enthused by Stalin let alone the people of Tamil Nadu. Further Stalin is trying to revive the hate politics and politics of anti-Hindu, anti God, anti-Hindi sentiments of early 1960’s. It looks like Stalin has submitted himself to Tamil fantasists and Christian missionaries. He is not even dared to deal Vaika because Stalin has realized that he is in a precarious position today and therefore every drop of water is necessary to make the mighty ocean.

On a cursory look at the social media, one may be tempted to assume that DMK is quite powerful but the ground reality is different. People are no more interested in DMK coming to power and the politics of dynasty ruining the state further.

Although EPS was started off with low profile but EPS ensured that the state continues to prosper and move forward with the dreams and visions of Amma. EPS further recognized the importance of governance and not politics and hence developed best chemistry with PM Narendra Modi who is very passionate to develop the state.

People of Tamil Nadu must remember that any aberration to the present style of governance would destabilize the state.  EPS has taken several initiatives to develop the state and uplift the poor people.  Similarly India has grown remarkably in different frontiers and the world see India no more as scam filled, dynasty and nepotism dominant country.

Therefore the victory of AIADMK, BJP alliance is necessary more for the state than for the alliance.  Politics of dynasty, nepotism, corruption, anti-God, anti-Hindu, anti-Hindi rhetoric will do no good to the state.  Hope the politics of dynasty, corruption and nepotism will disappear from the state and EPS, Modi combine will take the state to new heights of development and prosperity.

‘Dukhi Aatmayein’ floating around on Indian news television

0

Among the many things that have transpired in India since the ascension of Narendra Modi to PM’s chair, one that has greatly affected news television viewers is the appearance of a special breed of human beings on it.

These ‘intellectuals’ are those who have decided to turn themselves into politically-active versions of Devdas. By assuming an artificially melancholy tone, they are trying to suggest that India has slumped into a state of ethical and moral degeneration – engineered by BJP and its supporters – which is akin to the condition of Germany during Third Reich.

These ‘Dukhi aatmayein’ assail our senses by adopting a despairing tone, often couched in the language of sarcasm and cynicism. A casual observer, not familiar with India and its politics, on witnessing their pretended helplessness, would find it hard not to develop sympathy for these supposed ‘voices of conscience’ in a country of people fast losing their humane touch.

Through their columns and television interventions – promoted by their myriad admirers in the media – these men are hell bent on convincing people – in India and, preferably, abroad also – that Indians (read Hindus) are becoming increasingly dehumanized.

Ironically, a BJP loss in elections turns their voices buoyant and optimistic while a victory for the saffron party means return to their depressing ruminations.

So, who are these ‘Dukhi Aatmayein?’ Let’s look at three of the most prominent names from their ranks.

Aakar Patel

Aakar Patel is a highly-learned former journalist who is also blessed with the distinction of being a Gujarati. Today, this man heads Amnesty International’s India branch. Using his Gujarati heritage, he has decided to run down his own people and join the chorus of those who want Gujarat to be seen as a state full of Muslim-hating bigots.

Before Modi became PM, he repeatedly made the case that a dangerous form of Hindu supremacism has already become diffused among people of his state. When the whole country approved of Modi’s leadership by electing him Prime Minister, he turned his hatred towards the whole nation.

Whether you see him on television or read his Sunday column in Times of India – published every alternate week – he is trying his best to infuse a strong pessimism about the country. In fact, unlike many other intellectuals who, at least, pretend to hate only Modi and not the ethos of this country, he has been transparent about his disgust for the civilizational heritage of our motherland.

The shamelessness that is seen in his Sunday columns is remarkable for its brazenness. One of his columns sarcastically suggested that India is spending too much of its resources on defence and heaped scorn on the Army and the behavior of its personnel.

In another, he made the case that India was lucky to be ruled by Britishers because of her inherent inferiority. This sad sack loves to take potshots at India’s history and proudly refers to a Dalit scholar’s dubious claim that India is the most invaded country in the world – meaning the most effete.

He even had the temerity to say that Maharana Pratap doesn’t deserve any reverence as he has ‘zero contribution to India’s history.’ Anything that is remotely nationalist draws his ire and skewed arguments.

Patel uses that tone of cynicism and sarcasm that is the trademark of many of these people. Some of his columns have been cravenly provoking Muslims and Dalits to view themselves with a sense of persecution complex and dislike their nation.

He does all this while carrying that demeanour of a tortured soul who has decided to smile in face of an impending tragedy. Speaking with an air of despondency, he tries to lull people into joining his cause. The only positive side of his attempts to malign the nation is that he is honest enough to admit his hatred for the whole cultural identity of India as well as its loved institutions like army.

Ravish Kumar

This gem of a journalist has spent his time trying to present a calmer and more meaningful version of prime-time news. It would have been great had he also included the quality of fairness in his broadcasts.

Instead, Ravish has decided to use his languorously sarcastic style to run down the present government. To be fair, he has been at the receiving end of some personal abuse from alleged supporters of the present dispensation. That is highly condemnable. But that does not justify the highly-dramatised and exaggerated reporting of certain negative events.

His blackening of the screen when some journalists were attacked in 2016 along with the gratuitous mime-show when government imposed a day’s ban on NDTV (for totally justifiable causes) are more well-known examples of his biased coverage.

In the last couple of years, his show has become notorious for the kind of slanted reporting it does on government schemes. There has also been plenty of erroneous coverage of incidents which invariably involves claiming a link between self-proclaimed right-wing groups and BJP without any evidence.

Cleverly using a tone of despairing cynicism, he tries to play the same game as Aakar Patel in making Indians dread the future. The tactic of playing a hapless victim has brought him a fan following of those who liked a weak, diffident, insecure India, one which is ashamed of its own identity.

By constantly looking glum, he tries to seem more dignified than other anchors and pretends to be a lone voice for justice while the rest of the nation is going mad. A little deeper understanding would reveal that he is merely saddened by the lack of support for his own bigoted point of view.

Yogendra Yadav

Till he joined Aam Aadmi Party, Yogendra Yadav was considered India’s premier psephologist. His mild tone and soft voice were seen as signs of intellectual depth. However, with his conversion to politics, he threw off his mask of ideological neutrality and became a full-throated opponent of Modi’s BJP.

After being kicked out of AAP, Yadav has formed his own party which is struggling to save its deposits in elections it contests. But his psephological background as well as the admiration of Modi-phobic mediapersons have ensured that he gets a lot of airtime as well as column inches.

In his modern avatar as a politician/intellectual/psephologist, he has become a most annoying preacher warning people about the impending descend of the country towards fascism. Always speaking in a tone of sanctimoniousness, he now claims to represent the farmers of the country, which is ironic because that claim is yet to be validated by any electoral success.

He too has decided to assume the appearance of a tormented soul, haplessly witnessing the demise of Indian democracy and pluralism. In the recent India Today conclave, he pompously claimed that the upcoming elections would decide whether India remains India or not. In other words, BJP’s victory is the death knell for Indian democracy! Bravo.

The even tone of his voice is no longer carrying the appearance of a deep intellect but an exaggerated notion of self-importance. He now sees himself as one of the few enlightened people in this country preventing its slide into dis-civilization.

Conclusion

The eminent intellectuals listed above are licking their chops at the prospect of BJP losing power in the upcoming elections. Their gloomy countenances would become luminous if the results go their way.

Sarcasm would give way to cheerfulness and pessimism to a sense of vindication. They would feel India has returned to its true identity – a nation ashamed of its culture, embarrassed of its heritage, unwilling to be strong, perpetually apologizing for imagined cultural inferiorities and completely devoid of a sense of unity.

Will we let these people – hateful towards the idea of a strong and confident India – succeed?

Government indecisiveness – model code of conduct – affects

0
Sri. Sunil Arora
The Chief Election Commissioner of India,
Election Commission of India

New Delhi.

Respected Sir,

It was only in 1979 that restrictions were incorporated for the party in power. The party in power, both in the Centre and the state:

Ministers and other authorities must not announce any financial grants, or promise any construction of roads, provision of drinking water, and so on.

On the clause wish to seek clarification of your good offices that, provision Drinking Water is one of basic amenities to be made available to the citizens by the government of the day or not? Every citizen has the fundamental rights for it or not?

On this issue, our is a residential complex constructed and occupied in 2000. About 700 families belonging to low and middle income group and mostly come from a minority community. When inmate occupied the premises 2000, there was no water supply in this locality.

Water supply infrastructure was made available to locality in the year 2006 and that time itself the connection charges payable to the department was found unaffordable. We the residents agreed to monthly consumption charges and repeatedly requesting the successive governments to give relaxation on connection charges amounting to several lakhs, neither the elected representatives fought for our cause nor government responded to our pleas.

After formation of new Telangana state we again wrote to the new government clearly stating our request as said to earlier governments. Without properly reading any representation the concerned minister will inform the petitioner via email or letter about his/her instructions given to concerned department.

Basing on his noting the water surveyed the locality and gave final feasibility report to their concerned committee for sanction of sanction. For gave us an intimation letter amounts payable under various heads amounting to nearly ₹ 1.65 crores. We sought clarification and finally the board said relaxation sought needs the sanction of the government.

The government till date has not told relaxation can’t be given or it is under consideration. From past 4 years we are facing water crisis for our day to day needs. Forced to buy at a higher price bore water from private suppliers like we are buying drinking water. Even after Member of Parliament writing to the government before 2018 assembly elections and present parliament election announcement government is silent on the issue.

The summer is approaching the private suppliers shoot up their which will drain our pockets. When we are pursuing our case with the government the Model Code of Conduct has become a hurdle, like it happened last November.

Such clauses especially on a lifeline item water as well as on pending representations gives room to the government to delay the matter and make citizens to drop the fight against indecisive government.

Hope, the Hon’ble Commission consider our representation and communicate how best your good offices can help during this MCC period.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Luteyns media reaction to cricket team gesture to Pulwama victims

0

Its age of Jingoism we are told. Toxic hyper nationalism screams another, sports is being used as vehicle (conveniently forgetting 1972 Olympics, then 1980 and 1984 boycott by it either side of cold war divide) so in this age of free flowing headlines lets stick to FACTS.

FACT no 1 and possibly the Only FACT that should matter. 44 of our brave were martyred in Pulwama and the perpetrator of the attack had the audacity to record video before he did his crime in which he did call Hindu’s cow piss drinker among other things.

In wake of the attacks the entire country become one and most sections of society who do REAL jobs to earn their living came out and expressed their sympathies with the victims of attack and I was glad to see many sports stars who represent the nation also join in examples seen here.

Now The Indian cricket team is going to play Pakistan in the world cup in June and there is already much speculation as to what is course of action Indian Govt and BCCI need to take, should we forfeit the match against Pakistan or should we boycott the world cup itself until Pakistan is expelled. I am not to going to debate on this topic since there are consequences and it’s not just 2 points what if we need to play Pakistan in semi finals or finals and what happens in next ICC tournament assuming relations have not improved till then do we continue to boycott and does it boycott apply to cricket only as India is scheduled to play Pakistan in Tennis in the Davis cup play off what happens  there. In  fact, Indian tennis had to make the biggest sacrifice by refusing to play South Africa in finals of 1974 Davis cup when it had great chance to win the competition.

So now Indian cricket team is playing series against Australia and in their wisdom the BCCI, team management decided to Honor the Pulwama victims by donating their match fees and by wearing special army hats. Nobel gesture you think right? Surely what could be wrong in this then national team respecting the people who guard the borders and secure lives of citizen’s. Not so after even the sports journalist who gives us headlines in newspapers are actually closet brothers in arms with Tukde gang as these pictures will show

Ok that Vinay Aravind is typically Porali if you go through his tweets you will know. Like typically Porali he has no real job. He claims to be a  photographer! But the guy who replied to the tweet Jonathan Selvaraj writes for ESPN.IN and he seems to be happy and sarcastic that India lost the match after wearing army hats.

Next example

Urban Naxal

The usual Israel connection comes in. Why we are not surprised at all. And look at the wording “forcing idea of military valor into mainstream” so he has problem with military valor being glorified he should accept that first.

Next example readers please decide which more cringe is worthy:

Yet another liberal voice

The tone and tenor when you take about an injured solider when hit by bullet and he is comparing that to a bowler being hit for runs in cricket match.

I can go and collect more examples but just waste of time and makes me feel sad so I will end with something I found on the internet and something which is connected to sports from a place where all these liberals get their inspiration. ENGLAND. The EPL has started Remembrance Day where they honor the soldiers, all soldiers who fought even who fought in the much unpopular Iraq war.

But here we honor Pulwama victims then they make it a joke. The mainstream journalist of this country are becoming out of touch with reality. Those soldiers died protecting people like these. Let that sink in. Hope portals like Opindia continue to provide us truth.

If Pulwama attack does not shake your soul, you are most likely dead inside

More than 40 brave soldiers of CRPF were cowardly martyred by JeM sponsored terrorist attack on 14th February 2019. The terrorists rammed an explosive laden vehicle in the CRPF convoy resulting in the highest casualties in a terror attack in Kashmir’s unfortunate bloody history.

There was anger and outrage among the general populace with many expressing their emotions and condolences for those departed souls who were not even given a chance to fight. Social Media and streets of the nation were full of people expressing their solidarity with the armed forces.

However, there were a few who not only celebrated the attacks, took potshots at the Govt., but also belittled the sacrifice of the brave men by comparing their deaths to the deaths due to poverty, crimes, accidents everyday, thereby questioning the outrage and emotions that the whole country was feeling.

To all those questioning the outrage and demanding retribution, let me tell you the difference between the deaths in other parts of the country everyday due to various reasons and the deaths of the bravehearts who lost their life in a cowardly, barbaric terrorist attack.

These were not natural deaths, or accidental deaths, or due to the apathy of some government department; they were targeted because they had vowed to protect India which is a home to 1.3 billion people. Yes, they vowed to protect the same Indians who are now belittling their sacrifice.

These people were never given a chance to fight. A maniac who was ready to die in the name of religion to get an enjoy a better afterlife, killed the unarmed, unaware soldiers who were talking to their loved ones, or enjoying a relaxed ride. Imagine someone bombing you while you are travelling in your car enjoying a break from your duties. Scary, isn’t it?

These people were killed because they were brave enough to choose becoming a uniformed soldier. They also had other career options, they also could have enjoyed a comfortable life in a metro city, but they chose to serve the nation and defend its fellow Indians from the evil acts of the enemy. Their love for the Nation is the only motivating factor for them to take such huge risks. If you cannot appreciate that emotion, please don’t laugh at those who carry that in their hearts.

Terrorists have no boundaries or inhibitions when it comes to killing. Today its them, tomorrow it can be me or you. If you don’t stand up for them today, don’t complain when the terror comes at your doorstep and you have nowhere to hide.

So please stop belittling their sacrifice and falsely term the peaceful marches in their support as violent. Social Media has empowered many people to voice their anger and sadness after this heinous attack, please don’t term their emotions as fake nationalism or war mongering.

If the death of over 40 brave soldiers does not make you stand up and pay respect, I don’t think you have any humanity left in you. The hate for one man has clouded the sanity of many “liberals” to such an extent that they think that a brave soldier is nothing but a salaried security man whose death is nothing to be sad about.

Still, our Indian armed personnel would fight for the liberty and freedom of these very Indians but it is our duty to make sure they don’t feel let down by these minority voices and their confidence remains sky high with millions chanting with them “Jai Hind”.
