#WhyModiAgain?: If not, who else?

0

A laugh riot begins as we see this in top trend! I mean who else? Will we settle for a clown, a joker or a national embarrassment to lead our nation? Or will we pick one from the list of twenty-odd power-hungry vultures who have been fooling the people spitting venom against a visionary leader like Narendra Modi?

Take a close look at the history of all those aspiring prime ministers – they all have something or the other in common. First, many of them are dynasts with their only contribution to India being the heir to a minister some time back. Some of them are hoarders of public money for personal usage. And most of them are desperate to win the PM’s chair only because they can siphon out funds to their own account over the next few years little caring for a promising nation like ours to prosper.

History is witness to the fact that truth must face tougher tests to shine through whereas lies spread like wildfire, in the end, consuming its source as well. Things are not any different for a common man like Narendra Modi who has achieved his position only by dint of his hard work and nothing else. The ridicules he earns and the brickbats he garners for every good action he takes sometimes trigger questions like this: How will he withstand this? Will he not give up this time? But look, how effortlessly he takes everything in stride. Take for instance: demonetization. The positive effects of demonetization have never been so much hyped as its negative effects, thanks to a sole mainstream media. The only fact that there was a massive increase in the taxpayers due to demonetization is reason enough to give NaMo his due credit. Explore the rest when you have time.

Many rumour-mongers with their vendetta-driven narratives attack NaMo as a dictator maybe because they are not sued to listen to a firm voice of the Prime Minister except when he was responding meekly to the whims of the corrupt Congress’s Party President. But how true is that tag of ‘dictator’? You judge: NaMo’s able team has stalwarts like Piyush Gowel, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Arun Jaitley, Suresh Prabhu, to name a few. Now tell me who among these hasn’t a voice that’s a functioning democracy need? They all have excelled well in their fields. Now don’t be blind and don’t get into nitpicking only to prove this argument wrong.

Most importantly, look at the overall intent: it has been populist – of the people, by the people, and for the people. Direct money transfer to people’s account, definite steps to clean environment, complete electrification across the nation, fastest road layout, a tangible digital economy, better railway facilities, a firm Defence stand, and an enviable international stature – all these besides no government scam – what else do we ask for in a mere five-year term?

Let’s rest our allegiance for a while and get to weigh things on their intrinsic value. Let’s not judge NaMo on ‘what could have been’, as our expectations are always high. Let’s judge him on what he has done in so less time, despite a fierce, non-cooperative Opposition that mostly has bought or kept the mainstream media in its web, by God knows, what price. And when your conscience tells you that it is only NaMo and none else, take a deep breath and scream #NamoAgain in 2019.

Indian single SU-30MKI successfully dodged 4-5 F-16’s BVR missiles, certainly a bad news for the West

0

IAF recently confirmed that nearly 4-5 American BVR air-to-air missiles (AIM-120C-5) were fired at a single Indian Sukhoi-30MKI aircraft from fleeing F-16, which not only successfully evaded them but also managed to jam their radar-lock, turning them into unguided rockets which not only lost their target but also crashed without hitting out any target.

“During combat, the use of the F-16 fighter jet by the Pakistan Air Force and multiple launches of AMRAAM were conclusively observed. Prompt and correct tactical action by Sukhoi-30 aircraft, in response to AMRAAM launch, defeated the missile. Parts of the missile fell in area East of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, injuring a civilian on the ground,” the IAF said.

AIM-120C-5 missile is a frontline Air to Air Missile system which is equipped on many fighter types produced by the United States and in service with almost all NATO air force along with USAF. Indian Su-30MKI deployed a combination of Jammers, Flares, and Super maneuverability to outclass the chasing missiles in a matter of few seconds of them being fired by PAF F-16. Russian developed Sukhoi-30 fighter jet which not only outmaneuvered the missile but also was also successful in making them a dud rocket by active jamming in the air.

Indian Su-30MKI which comes with thrust vectoring control (TVC) engines and with superior Indian and Israeli Jammers has successfully outdone itself from the simulation results predicted by USAF. It might have created new headaches for Western Military planners and surely will have alarm bells ringing in Pentagon, NATO and many Asian countries who rely heavily on such missiles to defend them self against other Sukhoi-30 operators in the region.

While India is a friendly country to USAF and other NATO forces, but PLAAF which operates a large fleet of Sukhoi-30 and their illegal copies and are always on loggerhead against them in the South China Sea or in other parts of the region where largely Sukhoi-30 variants are deployed. While Chinese Su-30 variants are not technical as advance as Indian Su-30MKI but with the commencement of deliveries of Advance Su-35 fighters from Russia, it will be a matter of a few years before China will have the technology to defeat any BVRAAMs thrown by US-manufactured fourth-generation jets in possible conflict with them in near future.

No Prime Minister since 1947 has done so much like Narendra Modi to address unemployment and empower poor

0

The corrupt dynastic politicians and those politicians who could not do any scam since 2014 can afford to abuse and criticize Modi for not doing enough to solve the unemployment problem but not the people of India. Any Indian who has a heart, true feeling of Indian-ness and is willing to verify the facts should not criticize Modi for not doing enough to address the unemployment problem in India.

The people of Tamil Nadu must be extra-graceful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for doing more than enough to address the unemployment problem in the state. After proper study and understanding of the increasing number of educated people year after year in the country and the limitation of government establishments to provide employment to large number of people, PM Modi kindled the entrepreneurial instinct in people so that they would explore and exploit their latent talents and also can provide employment to several others.

In order to support and augur the entrepreneurship among people, on 8th April, 2015 Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced Micro Unit Development Refinance Agency (MUDRA) with the corpus of 20,000 crore and a credit guarantee of 3,000 crore. The MUDRA scheme, PM Modi made available in all branches of all banks in India. The scheme was rolled under PMMY (Prime Minster Mudra Yojana).

Narendra Modi is the first leader in India to recognize the fact that the small and medium enterprises are the one that holds Indian economy. Further these small business units not only contribute to our GDP but also provide employments to several people. Therefore all these micro business units must be supported with loan so that they grow further and increase their operation. Unfortunately, all these micro firms suffer from short repayment time and high rate of interest for the loan that they had secured and in most occasions they were closing down the units due to debts.

The MUDRA scheme financing was phased in three stages of business development such as ‘Shishu’, ‘Kishor’ and ‘Tarun’. Shishu is the first phase of business setting up which was given Rs. 50,000 and then Kishor when the business develop and requires further support to sustain and the loan amount was above 50,000 up to 5 lakh and the third phase of development, that is Tarun which receives the loan above 5 lakh up to 10 lakh.

Tamil Nadu is the first state that got maximum benefit of MUDRA but unfortunately the state is being misguided by DMK and its allies to oppose PM Modi with no substantive reason or fact.

The number of engineering colleges run by the politicians in Tamil Nadu is quite high and therefore the number of engineering graduates getting passed out from Tamil Nadu year after year is also going to be high. Many engineering graduates are quite talented and have high entrepreneurial instinct but lack seed money to start business. PM Modi was the first to visualize such grandsire plan for NEW INDIA where make in India shall be the rule and attraction Modi wants to convey to the world.

PM Modi introduced skill providing centres, provided MUDRA loan and guided them to become successful entrepreneurs so that the problem of unemployment can be solved progressively and India shall be the biggest exporter of various products.

His mission was not vote bank politics or politics of tokenism or freebies but was working towards bringing a structural reform in the country where the behaviour, thinking psychology, attitude and ambition of people changes totally.

PM Modi sowed seeds for 500 years of sustained growth and development of our country in his just 5 year term. But on the contrary, the congress party over 50 years made India belong to one family, one family alone develop and rest of Indians remain poor, underdeveloped and caste and community ridden.

Promoting dynasty, nepotism, looting India were the only motto of most of the dynastic political parties in India but Narendra Modi focused on developing India to become economic super power in the world.

People of India and especially the people of Tamil Nadu, the first time voters must vote for India’s stability, growth, security, development and sab ka vikas than the development of a dynasty, family rule, corruption and scams.

Tamil Nadu being the biggest beneficiary of MUDRA scheme, the youths are expected to elect Narendra Modi for NEW INDIA than the alliance to two dynasts with glorious legacy of scams and corruption allegations.

The Arun Shourie column – The real reason why Narendra Modi hates Karan Thapar

0

Some months back, eminent journalist Karan Thapar, at the release of his book, had mentioned that Narendra Modi shuns him and the BJP leaders also shun him, purportedly under orders from Narendra Modi. He has also mentioned that he is unable to understand the reasons for this boycott.

First let us go through a few lines of what Karan said, in his own words:

Was the problem the interview I had done with Mr Modi in 2007, during the campaign for his second term as chief minister of Gujarat, when he had walked out after barely three minutes?

I wanted to meet Mr Modi to find out why I was being boycotted by his ministers and his party, and added that if I had unwittingly done something to upset the prime minister I was happy to apologize.

I had offended Narendra Modi and this was the result. The only thing I still wasn’t sure of is when precisely that offence had happened. Was it the interview in 2007 or was it earlier with my ‘Sunday Sentiments’ column of March 2002?

As soon as I read this, I immediately met Karan Thapar and told him the real reason why Modi hates him. I encouraged him to make this reason public so that everyone can realize how Modi holds grudges. But Karan has so far refused to speak in public about it.

Then I read this line in Karan Thapar’s book.

I asked Sambit Patra if there was a problem. In a hushed voice and a manner that suggested he was embarrassed, he asked if I could keep a secret before he answered. When I gave him the necessary assurance, he said that all BJP spokespersons had been told not to appear on my shows.

I immediately realized my mistake. If I really wanted Karan to make this public, I should have told him in a hushed voice and asked him to keep it a secret. However, what is done is done. Since Karan has not come out publicly about this, I consider it my duty as a responsible citizen to bring this out in the open. The real reason Modi hates Karan Thapar is because after Modi became Prime Minister, I came several times on Karan’s show and bashed Modi with facts and figures. Modi had nowhere to hide. The only reason Modi hates Karan Thapar is because Karan gave me a platform to air my views.

On a side-note, I also told Karan Thapar that his style of getting interviews through connections was outdated. I asked him to go around the streets and fist fight like Rajdeep Sardesai if he still wanted to continue his career in journalism.

Three mistakes of Indira Gandhi’s Life

0

Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi India’s 3rd and only lady Prime minister in history. She had many marvelous achievements on her name which will never be forgotten in the history, like India’s first nuclear test and also for some work, never done by any leader in the world like in December 1971 changing the world map with India’s decisive victory over Pakistan in the liberation war, that led to the formation of independent Bangladesh. But there are some marvelous blunders also done by the same Indira Gandhi. Here I mention 3 mistakes done by her which can also not be easily forgotten by the nation and on which the question should be raised.

  • The first mistake – In 1971 she had the great opportunity to resolve the Kashmir problem once for all, not only the Kashmir problem but also the terrorism issue. Pakistan would have not become a terrorist state creating problems for India. In 1971 India had 93000 POW (Prisoners of war) which Indira Gandhi gave them for free along with the land captured by the Indian force. She could have put many sanctions on Pakistan like limiting the number of Army personnel in the area, taking back POK never interfering in Kashmir valley and many more just like the USA did to Germany after the first world war in 1918 in the treaty of Versailles. Beside this the Balochistani should not be oppressed by the Pakistani army. these are the same troops which were held POW in Bangladesh and after 1972 deployed in the Balochistan. This raises some serious questions on her geopolitics knowledge and strategies.
  • Second mistake – Emergency – in 1975 she tried to control the judiciary system just because in an election petition filed by her opponent, Raj Narain in 1971 (who later defeated her in 1977 parliamentary election from Raebareli), alleged several major as well as minor instances of using government resources for campaigning. On 12 June 1975, the Allahabad High Court declared Indira Gandhi’s election to the Lok Sabha in 1971 void on grounds of electoral malpractice. Many historians believe this being the one of the main reasons behind the emergency declared by her on 25 June 1975. During Emergency Police were granted powers to impose curfews and indefinitely detain citizens. All publications were subjected to substantial censorship by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This shows her hunger for power that she didn’t want to lose the PM chair and power at any costs.
  • Third mistake – the rise of Bhindranwale – in late 1970 Indira Gandhi supported the Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in a bid to split the Sikh votes and weaken the Akali dal its chief rival in Punjab. Bhindranwale was originally not very influential, but the activities of Congress elevated him to the status of a major leader by the early 1980s. Bhindranwale was responsible for the launching the Sikh militancy during the 1980s. Since the early 1980s, Bhindranwale was supported by Pakistan’s ISI on his radical separatist stand, plans and operations and this rise of Bhindranwale which was ended up with operation blue star and which also became the reason of the assassination of Indira Gandhi.

Had Indira Gandhi not made these 3 mistakes, the nation would have remembered her as a different leader. But now whenever someone says her iron lady, such questions start boggling into the minds of countrymen.

Weeding the Lawn

0

Two decades ago when the pig had destroyed the lawn by digging, we saw another problem. Please have a look at “Who let the pigs in” to know how the pig came inside the lawn. For this article, it is just enough to know that the pig had dug up the garden pretty bad destroying most of the valuable saplings.

Since, no body was going to sow new seeds in the lawn because of various reasons like sowing season was over and other timing constraints, the lawn lay vacant the entire season.

I thought we had a larger playground all to ourselves.

We saw some strange plants growing up in that lawn. Even though, no body was watering the area, still these weird plants grew by themselves. They were what we call weeds. Weeds sort of by definition are the plants that are most optimal for the current growing conditions, while garden vegetables are things you placed because you wanted to eat them, and may not be an ideal match. There’s some natural selection going on causing their very presence.

The irritating part was that even after we (as in me and the other six year old) repeatedly pulled them of the ground and threw them away, they would magically appear in some time. Somehow, it took more effort to pull a weed from the ground than our own saplings whatever were left.

Crabgrass can grow on bowling balls in airless rooms, and there is no known way to kill it that does not involve nuclear weapons.  ~Dave Barry

It turns out that weeds are optimized for a quick cycle that exploits empty ground in a particular climate state. When gardens are more grown out, weeds do less well — for example, weeds don’t do well under a mature  plant, but can out-compete a new one.

“If you leave your soil untilled, you will not benefit from God’s rain. Even if God pours down a heavy rainfall, it will only grow weeds on your land.”
Israelmore Ayivor, 101 Keys To Everyday Passion

Another reason for so many weeds in our garden was that our neighbors had moved away and there was no-one to take care of their garden, which was full of weeds. The seeds/flowers from their garden would end up in ours leading to more weeds. But the thing was “Criticizing another’s garden doesn’t keep the weeds out of your own.”

I realized that it was useless to pull the weeds if the lawn was not going to be sown. So, I stopped making efforts.

“If the weeds are removed and there is nothing planted, it is the weeds that will keep growing.” ― Sunday Adelaja, The Mountain of Ignorance

In fact this is true not only for weeds but for a lot of other things. Our brain is one such creature. If we leave it unused or vacant, only negative and evil thoughts would originate. We won’t be able to stop them unless we find something constructive to engage our mind in.

Unfortunately, people still try to keep their gardens free of weeds without sowing new seeds. Especially in Jammu and Kashmir. Of course they are destined to fail. Although, it would be unfair to complain about the weeds since they did not even try to push the pigs out of the garden (until recently).

Before 2014, I would have said that terrorism/militancy affects me too, even though I live several thousands kilometers away from Kashmir. But fortunately for people like me, the current government was able to quarantine or contain the terror “weeds” to Kashmir and some border areas.

At this point in time, I could say:

इसमें तेरा घाटा मेरा कुछ नहीं जाता

That is, Article 35A affects only not-so-privileged Kasmiri Permanent Residents and no body else. If you like it, you should keep it. And if you want to get a solution to the Kashmir issue, you should read through.

What is one similarity in Bihar and West Bengal? And how are they different from Gujarat?

They are not investor/business friendly. As an example, do you remember a TATA NANO plant had to be moved out of the WB to the state of Gujarat? The point is if your government can not make land available (in a correct way) for the companies, you cannot expect different companies coming to your state. Can you?

You must have heard about the term Brain Drain or Human Capital Flight. Although, in context of countries for instance, you might have heard “70% of influential manpower in the Silicon Valley is not American, the people came from outside America.” That’s true but the phenomenon is more fierce in some states within India. UP and Bihar have been facing Brain Drain for decades now. I will take my example here, I was born in UP, did my schooling in UP did my bachelors in UP, but worked in Pune-Bangalore-outside India and never in UP.

You should be asking yourselves: What makes cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmadabad, Chennai etc. so special? It is the ability of these places to welcome talent from different part of the world without any hesitation. Yes, some times you see emigration related agitations in Maharashtra or Karnataka, but they happen before elections and everything goes back to the normal after the elections.

No body likes to live far away from their hometown. If not today, maybe tomorrow or maybe at some point in time, there would be a high paying embedded systems company in UP where I would be able to apply. I can hope that because it depends only on the intent of the government and there is no law prohibiting it. You might not like Yogi for what he wears, but he is definitely pulling UP from the likes of Bihar and WB, by inviting investments (UP Investor Summit 2018)  which I guess is on the same line as Vibrant Gujarat, although relatively quite smaller than the latter.

However, there is a law, Article 35A in Kashmir, which prohibits people(not Kashmiris) from buying immovable assets in the state of J&K. Unfortunately, for the Kashmiris Permanent Residents, Stone Pelter’s Association would be one of the biggest source of employment.

Moreover, this article does not affect every Kashmiri in the same way, it affects the not-so-privileged Kasmiri Permanent Residents the most.

Why?

Because, the people who are privileged and have some resources at their disposal, send their kids to cities like Delhi, Bangalore etc. and even outside India.

In short the thing is there is no talent coming in at all and whatever indigenous talent the state has got, goes away. A severe case of brain drain. You could imagine, what is left in the state.

At a critical juncture where the rest of the country is witnessing a reverse brain drain i.e. skilled people are returning to India because of different global circumstances like Brexit or Donald Trump’s America First policy, Kashmir is still witnessing brain drain. The state would continue to suffer and no body can help it except the Kashmiri Permanent Residents.

इसमें तेरा घाटा मेरा कुछ नहीं जाता

इस बात का बस ग़म हुआ मुझको थोड़ी सी भी कोशिश ना की तुमने

This is a little upsetting that the educated and well-to-do Kashmiris are not raising their voice in this context. The poor literacy rate in the districts in Kashmir is not because kids don’t study, it is because whoever studies goes away and never comes back. Why would he come back? What will he come back to? The one big difference in India and Pakistan is that you will find a lot of Indians outside India, who would go back to India, but you will hardly find a Pakistani, who would want to go back to Pakistan. Of course there would be exceptions, but I haven’t found one yet.

Lastly, Indian National Congress is never going to help the state. If they had wanted, they would have abrogated article 35A (I am not talking about 370 at all here, only 35A) when they had the majority both at the center and at the state i.e. in 1967 (60 out of 75 seats)  and 1972(58 out of 75) more than two thirds majority.

Can BJP abrogate Article  35A? The answer is no! Why? Because they would need a two-third majority at the center (which they can manage) and two third majority in the state i.e. Jammu and Kashmir (which they do not have, never had and will never have, simply because of the radicals, who are excellent at brainwashing.)

The state would keep on producing weed like anti-social elements unless there are constructive opportunities for youth. It is a natural phenomena, you cannot change this, not in 30 years not in 300.

Once again, this election would present an opportunity to fix this issue. Choose wisely!!!

अब और क्या कहना होगा हमने करना था जो वो कर लिया तुमने
पर याद आएगी जब भी तुम्हारी शिकायतें ना होंगी बस दुआ रहेगी

Barbarization of the Hindu: Why I take offence to micro aggression

0

The human evolution has been fraught with barbarism. The most expansive tribe is generally the most powerful, and the most unforgiving. As homo sapiens monopolized the leadership of the world, several thousand species of flora and fauna were either enslaved or wiped off as per convenience. We domesticated the species we wanted like the wheat, the millet, the rice. And we eliminated what we called the weed or unwanted, those species that threatened our chosen ones. This elimination of ‘other useless’ species was the outcome reserved for many closer species to us like the Homo habilis (“handy” man), Homo erectus (“upright man”), Homo neanderthalensis (the Neanderthal), The Denisovans etc.

This is not to say that they were not used to aid in the betterment of our own, because indeed scientific studies and DNA results have proved beyond doubt that we inherit more from these other human species than we credit them for. Hence our ancestors may have used the species to their will, procreating, but killing and eliminating them.

Hence, scientifically, Some of the worst human excesses and carnages in history have been a result of dehumanisatiom of the ‘other’. Within our homo sapiens itself, the most powerful and expansive tribes or religions or culture are the one that can best dehumanise the other. The white man’s burden or later the Jihadi conviction of civilizing the savages, the bringing of light (noor) to the barbarians (Jahil) or God to the pagans (kafir) has been an ongoing project for past many centuries. Colonization, slavery, witch hunts, apostasy and inquisitions, Holocaust, crusades and indeed other such savagery was committed in the name of righteous virtues of their times.

One of the most important reasons for extinction of the indigenous tribes has been credited to the shame and self disdain that a calculated campaign inflicted on the natives. The victim society is brainwashed to distance itself from it’s own moorings and hence are lost to history.

The Europeans landed in the Mount of Kenya region around 1900 or so. The Kikuyu or the Embus, in about 100 years, would renounce their God Ngai, and the ways of their ancestors and embrace the way of the new Lord. The fearless Masai who could fight a lion with his bare hands would embrace the suit and the church and renounce his fathers as barbarians. What physical fight would the Europeans have won against the mighty Masai, if they hadn’t willingly killed their own culture? Would they have done it one fine day? No, it would have been inculcated by several micro aggressions. The Mayans and the Aztecs and the assorted red Indian tribes with their unique connection to the cosmos would renounce their historical ways and assist the Europeans in the destruction of their own ecology, and be wiped out eventually. All because they failed to read the micro aggressions and brainwashing being carried out in the name of some virtue or the other.

This has happened for several 1000 generations before us, and it continues to this day. The last frontier of the marauding monotheists has been the Oriental, the cradle of civilization which cannot be summarily sacked. The march of invasions and external ravages of Bharata through the last 750+ years has been well documented. Their temples were demolished, their women taken, their customs mocked, their festivals banned. They had to pay jazia and pilgrimage tax only to remain as they did all these centuries in their own forefathers lands. Many gave way and converted to avoid the humiliation of everyday living. Yet some brave men and women of Bharata refused to turn over and die, or convert.

The clash of the civilizations continue in this last frontier. This happens Every day and every time you see a news item mocking the ways of the pagans. The preachy HUL ads on Kumbh or Holy are just a minor addition to a series of aggressive dehumanisation of the native pagans who had been given the name ‘Hindu’ by it’s victors.

The HUL advertisement for Red Label labelled Hindus as people who would abandon their own parents. The ad explicitly claims Kumbh as the place where this is done. Never mind that millions of Hindus go to the Kumbh to actually pay respects and remember their ancestors – both known and unknown.

A new HUL advertisement is a case in point. Don’t you ever cringe at the stereotyping of our popular media? The sexualisation of child actors and performers gyrating to raunchy numbers? The skull cap and the burqa on toddlers? The unnecessary mazhabization of innocent childhood? Trust Lowes Lintas to do all that and more on this cringe inducing advertisement for Surf Excel.

The ad shows a poor harassed Muslim boy on Holi who naturally has taken refuge with a Hindu girl. The advertisement focuses on the Muslim need to remain clean in the filth of the Holi festival as the Hindu girl acts as his shield, and delivers him safely and without daag to his Mosque. Obviously the prayer in mosque was much more important than an important festival like Holi for the creators. Islam prevails over the dirty Hindus in the end, fully aided and egged on by the over friendly Hindu nymph. Also, the catchline then says Daag achche hain alluding to the unclean Hindus and their barbaric custom of colours in this Holi.

The ad can be seen here: Priya Nair, the HUL director specifically mentions “Holi is one of our biggest festivals, celebrated with much fanfare across the country. However, in the midst of the fun and revelry, one can often forget the true spirit of the festival.” It is the private enterprise HUL’s burden to re educate Hindus about their festivals and their” true meanings? Who did they consult to find the true spirit of Holi? Who has sponsored their new crusade about re defining the “spirit” of Hindu festivals?

Such preaching and virtue signalling is reserved for Hindus as a community. No single brand has demonstrated to wish a Hindu a Happy Diwali Or a Happy Holi with “no strings attached”. The wishing of a Hindu festival is always a qualified statement. This is a deeply offensive ploy that is regularly and specifically employed on the Hindu community which has these preachy one liners appended and yet are expected to loosen their purse strings for the offenders. The idea is always to dehumanise the Hindu and remind them of their barbaric pagan ways. Diwali disturbs the neighborhood dog, Holi disturbs the clean Namazi, Rakhi disturbs the feminists, Dussehra is a celebration of violence and Durga Puja is a racial anti Dalit festival.

A few hundred or thousand Hindus will agree and denounce the exact victims the ads demonstrate as unclean (दागी), barbaric and impure. Victims shall be shamed, and anyone sensitive to their concerns raising their thoughtful characterisation as savages would be labelled “communal”, or whatever other fancy labels the soldiers of liberal jehad heap on their adversaries nowdays. This labelling shall be used as further proof of Hindus being responsible for their own downfall because they dared to show pride where none needs to exist. There have been umpteen attempts to paint the Hindu festivals as uncultured by the gang of Hinduphobes, the last time they wished Holi they implored the barbarians to conserve water, and then accused revellers of sexual agrraion or even seen filled balloons, all of which was concocted to shame the innocent Hindu for his customs.

What you should do in such a situation? I don’t really know. I presume the one thing we can do at this time is to smile, and be brave. To Call out the bigots and then participate in the biggest clash of ideals that you can be a soldier of… The Elections…. Because your fore fathers have not sacrificed any less for you to remain a Hindu and be able to still retain a voice, however small. Make sure you vote in a Hindu government if you’re on this side of the civilizational war.

Who let the “Pigs” in

0

Around a couple decades ago, my dad was posted in a city-cum-village; narrow roads, no multiplexes, very little electricity, regulated water supply on a specific time, etc. But we had a lawn, the one and only highlight of that place. Our neighbors had their’s too. Ours was divided in two halves. On the left was an open area with green grass, where we could play cricket although, with a tennis ball (a soft ball and not a hard leather ball).  Even though, the right half (right of the main door) looked more beautiful but I never liked it and loved only the left half.

There were different flowers, plants, some veggies next to them, all quite colorful. The thing was, my dad would do all the interesting stuff like sowing, planting, trimming etc. etc. But who was going to do the boring stuff like throwing away the dried leaves or watering the plants or removing dried leaves or stems? Tada! there were two “mature” people in the house, one nine year old and the other six year old who would take care of these functions. Out of which the six year old always remained busy with eating crying sleeping and of course playing. Who was left? Me! the nine year old one.

And that’s not all, watering those plants was not an easy task. In the initial period, the saplings were weak, fragile and the soil was tender. So when I used to water them using a water hose, some times the water from the hose would make a mark as in erode some soil or skew the tiny saplings. After that I would hear things like “You are not suppose to hit them with water, reduce the water pressure, spend some time in watering plants, it is a very important activity, you don’t have to finish it in two minutes, do you have some business to attend to?” and “I told you, this plant needs less water, are you trying to kill the plant by drowning it? This plant needs more water, were you in some hurry?” To me all those little pain in the head plants looked the same, they had same color, how was I supposed to remember, who needed how much water. It is not that I din’t ask, “Bro, do you need more water?” They had their own attitude, wouldn’t reply. What do I do?

But this was not the big problem, a 5-minutes lecture, that too with the similar sentences I mentioned before but paraphrased differently and that’s pretty much it. However, if while playing in the left lawn the ball comes in the right one and hits any of the so-called precious, sophisticated saplings, there would be a longer and upgraded version of the lecture. Since, we had damaged a lot of plants already, we ended up getting an ultimatum: “If we break any more saplings, no game for the next day and no TV hour on Sunday.” We were allowed only one hour of TV every week and we would never want to do anything to miss that one hour.

We did it again, the ball went several times in that part of the lawn and did what it does best, tear some leaves and break some saplings. Rest we did, in order to fetch the ball, we made a bigger mess, walked where we should not.

After we were done playing, we realized that we were in trouble. We were thinking of ways to save ourselves. We came up with a brilliant plan. The plan was: “We move the fence slightly, so as to create a small opening, which would be just enough for the pig to come inside. He comes in, treads all over the place and when he walks over the place which we had damaged, we rush him out.” Easy Peasy, problem solved.

We let the pig in, we watched him walk over the damaged area overwriting our marks by his own. But our smirks didn’t last long, the clever plan turned into a pig shit in no time. Something that looked easy-peasy was not at all easy, the pig came from the slight opening in the fence, but would not go back. It was way more difficult to get him out. In addition to simply walking, he had started digging the ground and making loud grunting sound. We kept on doing shi-shi-hurr-hurr and banging the stick on the ground. But that wasn’t of any use. In fact the pig looked at us and as soon as he did, while making that grunting sound, the six year old started crying, and crying louder than the grunting sound made by the pig.

In next two minutes everybody was out  there, mom came from the inside, the neighbors came and finally dad came too.

Somehow, everybody pushed the pig out of the lawn. The important takeaway was that even though the plan did not work as we had wanted, but we did achieve the goal of not being held responsible for breaking the saplings with a ball. Everybody blamed the pig. Did the pig do anything wrong? He behaved in accordance to his nature. Didn’t he? The only problem was that he was at a place where he shouldn’t be.

Coming back to the present. When I look at the history now, I realize I was not the only “mature” person, who let the pigs in. In the ’80s and the ’90s some mature people also let the pigs in (metaphorically).  They not only allowed the militants become the mainstream, but also awarded them with fancy titles and designations along with allowing some a place in regional security forces and some in regional politics. The militants who were responsible for exodus of a complete community from the region were awarded by giving them a place in “Special Operations Group” and accepting them as leaders, “the separatist leaders”. They have been behaving exactly in accordance to their nature; they were suppose to destroy the garden. The situation in Kashmir deteriorated only because militants were at the places where they shouldn’t be. Who let them in?

Must read: Entangled Kashmir: A web of poor and selfish decisions

A nine year old, made a selfish and a destructive decision to avoid a few flying ‘chappals’ (slippers) and avoid forfeiting his one hour TV time, but what forced the government in Kashmir and the then government at the center to take these poor steps?

These separatist leaders display their problem solving skills by first creating problems and then appear to be solving them. Or at least making sure that they appear to be the only choice people have, if the problem has to be solved. Moreover, why were they entertained at all and not nipped in the bud in the first place? Did the then government ignore the fact that Kashmir is an integral part of India and there is no question of a separate entity? Didn’t the government by letting these separatist leaders flourish, create a window of doubt about that?

The previous government did not have the intent to fix the issue. They along with their friends were being benefited by the issue. They were feeding on this issue. In fact don’t you think a tiny state like J&K with as many as 30 different political religious parties smells of something fishy?  Moreover, what is The Difa-e-Pakistan Council doing in All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), an alliance of 26 political, social and religious organizations formed on March 9, 1993, as a united political front to raise the cause of Kashmiri separatism?

What will the separatist leaders and the Huriyat leaders do if the Kashmir problem is solved? I think, they would be unemployed. Will they or for that matter any one else would want to kick their only source of bread and butter away? No, which is why the problem is Kashmir would not solve until there are separatist leaders. They exist as long as the problem exists.

I, gladly and from the bottom of my heart welcome the current government’s actions of cracking a whip on some of the separatist leaders and their parties. They are put behind bars, which is where they actually belong. But this is not all, it is just a start. The government now need to get rid of the weeds (unwanted plants) from the garden.

By the way the garden story is not yet finished. Have a look at the second part “Weeding the Lawn

Thanks for your time!

If Modi was a pill, he would never come sugar-coated

0

The fortune-teller and the forecaster, each indignant at being clubbed with the other, rarely get it right in India. The world, for example, hasn’t ended yet, though some might believe we’ve tried hard enough. And the dollar, like an errant child, always goes the other way. And yet here I am taking a call on the future of India’s PM. Truly, as modern bards have said, we are like that only!

Dates of carnival of democracy have been announced, and the speculations about the result have already begun. A consensus has emerged that BJP is on the downhill, and even if the party comes as the frontrunner, it is unlikely to be anywhere near its 2014 performance.

Until the results of election in the three states of Hindi heartland were out, the victory to BJP seem like an appointment kept. Great men do that; reaching out to things that others cannot spot and Modi was like that only. His longevity has been staggering and I often wonder if others deny themselves that option because they stifle the child within, draining out the enthusiasm that an untroubled childhood possesses.

The successive victories of Modi since 2014 until recent elections in Hindi heartland reflects the acknowledgement of the people to his policies and work. It is as much a tribute to his innate ability and extraordinary intelligence as it is to his youthful exuberance. It also shows the quality of Shah’s booth management and social engineering. You can’t deny any of the fact but then that was the time when there was a weak opposition and lack of leadership on the other side. But now the equations have been changed. Somebody broke Rahul’s defensive mind-set. May be he did it himself, may be he listened and agreed but the end result was that he drove past his own barriers. He was confident. He was not shying away from saying, “Mera PM Chor Hai”. Indeed he made a handsome contribution himself, being positive and aggressive throughout and taking the big decisions.

During the assembly elections Modi was like Shah Rukh Khan of DDLJ playing the Shah Rukh of Zero. He was good at it, but it wasn’t him.

It happens to the best. The mind is made up and instinct is buried. We seek to become conformists, from making the rules we bow to them. Sometimes we grow weary with battle, the next conquest becomes daunting and it was pretty evident during the campaign. Modi was looking defensive in his approach. He was afraid of taking names of his own state governments and thus was talking about the “double engine”.

One big allegation which is always associated with Modi govt is that democracy was in peril in Modi Raj but I believe it is merely undergoing change. Some people equate the two, but that happens every time a comfortable world order is disturbed. Remember it happened during the Indira Gandhi’s rule in the form of Banks Nationalization and abolition of privy purses and also during the Rajeev Gandhi’s reign in the form of Postal Bill and Shah Bano but the thing is, in India we are not used to such a powerful central. But that has also happened with the way we communicate, with the way our families are structured and with the kind of medicines we take.

And so, in spite of being on a lower row for a while, Modi Raj gave us many happy moments. And, given its resilience, it would be fair to expect a few more. And so my answer to those people who say there is a sense of fear among the public in Modi Raj is, “If Modi was a pill, he would never come sugar-coated. No sugar coating but the man is worth its salt”.

And so Modi Raj has not been the years of doom, merely one of change.

But, at the time of election people tends to forget all these things and the main driving force is perception among the people. And without an inch of doubt I must confess that this is not going to be the same perception which BJP created in 2014, this time it will be more of a vector than scalar form of perception building , it will be more of an arithmetic than chemistry and many more dimensions will be added. This time it will not be Right vs Left but a kind of “Right lower class” vs “Left upper class”. But when the going is good almost everyone can swim with the tide but it is when confronted by adversity that character emerges; or, as Warren Buffett says, when the tide goes out you know who has been swimming naked. Also remember in the movie of Salman Khan the pressure is on Salman Khan. 2019 will be a bigger election than it seems.

Apart from all the political equations, alliances at the end of the day it will be the voters who will decide the fate of the political parties and so voters need to remember while casting their votes in 2019 that Modi is a leader, not a messiah.

Like in cricket coaches don’t win matches. Players do and they always have. Likewise the development of the country is not merely done by any govt. or leader but by the citizens themselves. Coaches might tinker or straighten the player’s game, play a benevolent uncle or a stern elder brother, show a little window of opportunity, may be even a door, but they can’t win matches on their own. Same is with the leader of any country. And so while it’s important to get a good man, we can’t look upon him as a messiah.

Any person who believes so is diverting his responsibility elsewhere. Otherwise it is no different from a rich parent appointing an expensive tutor and believing that both his and his child’s responsibility is over and therefore we must not equate the presence of Modi with say, an ambulance or a fire engine and he too must not boast himself of being it. The appointment of Modi in 2014 was a bit like appointing an interior decorator to work on a flat that has a dodgy foundation. We can’t expect Modi a hero who ride in from nowhere and take India to the top. Those messiahs exist only in the movies therefore people must choose their PM wisely.

Lastly, it is very pertinent to note that neither this is the Vajpayee led BJP of 2004 nor this is that Congress party which played the role of opposition in 2004. So, equating this election with 2004 election will be completely false. Therefore, no variables are going to give consistent and correct equation as of now. Magar jitega kaun? Only time (whatever that may be) will tell!

Secularism is new communalism of Indian main stream media

0

What is secularism well according to Wikipedia Secularism in India … With the 42nd Amendment of the Constitution of India enacted in 1976, the Preamble to the Constitution asserted that India is a secular nation. However, neither India’s constitution nor its laws define the relationship between religion and state. In recent trends if we see many of us claimed that they are secular but deep in them they either hate or love one community more as compared to other. So I have doubt whether we are really a secular or not or they just pretended to be a secular so that it is easy for them so abuse the other community which are in majority.

Recently if we see some media houses and read some popular print media houses who claim themselves to be secular and liberals, we will get to know that how the definition of secularism is changed by them and we will also see that how on the name of secularism they are trying to appease only one or two communities and targeting other which is in majority by manipulating the news headlines or by putting the saints image in the news of some wrongdoing did by Maulana and/or father of the Church. This has been done multiple times by the print media houses like THE HINDU.

On the one hand some mainstream media is crying aloud for AKHLAQ from UP but on the other hand they did not shed a single tear for RAMLINGAM from Kerala who was murdered by some Muslim by chopping of his hand (According to sharia law) because he confronted some Muslim who tried to convert some SC caste people. On the one hand they are very outrageous for Kathua rape case which is good but why it comes only for few cases. Why not all the time whenever there is crime against women whether it is kerala nun rape case or Gangotri case of Kowthalam Mandal, KNL, Andhra-pradesh in which a Minor SC girl burnt by Maulana for resisting his sexual advances. There are many cases which are not even covered by these secular mainstream media Which clearly shows how these media in the name of secularism spreading communalism.

Even if we talk about political parties like Congress, SP, TMC and many more they also do the same. They claimed themselves to be secular by visiting temples, church and Mosque but if they are so secular they never support the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 which give the permanent citizenship to the member of 6 minority communities in our country who are seeking the shelter but on the other hand they supported the Rohingya’s settlement in the country and one of the reason they are opposing the bill just because it their favourite (votebank) community is not included, whom they are trying to appease from the last 60 years. Why they are opposing the Triple Talak bill which give justice to the Muslim women and help in reducing the atrocities against them by punishing the guilty.

Even if we talk about Bollywood and sensor board which is called the most secular industry in the country are not so secular. They ban the movies like SINS 2005 just because in the movie the maker portrayed the father of the church in the bad light. Black Friday2004 just because the movie shows how in the name of Islam the terrorist plans MUMBAI 1993 serial bomb blasts and the DA VINCI CODE in 2006 which portrayed the church in bad light. They’ve banned many such movies which may hurt the sentiment of these one or two minority communities but not recommended a single cut in the movies like PK and many more in which they portrayed a Hindu priest and saint in the bad light.

So now if we see these recent trends and the type of reporting done by these some secular media houses I really have this question in my mind are they really secular or in the name of secularism they are running their agenda to defame one community which is definitely a communalism.
