Kerala floods: How communists are encashing flood disaster

0

The tragedy of the recent Kerala floods has seen some disturbing and unfortunate outbursts by some leftists, Congressis and regionalists. Some of these Breaking India forces have tried to manufacture a false narrative that the Modi government has purposely withheld aid to Kerala as communists are currently ruling the state. This false narrative has been shown to be completely fake.

The central and state governments have sent in generous aid. Also, Prime Minister Modi personally visited the state on August 17, 2018. The Indian army and the RSS have been displaying amazing courage and compassion by selflessly serving the grief-stricken people of Kerala.

In the meanwhile, it appears that the communists of the CPI(M) have been facing a crisis of ideology for several years. As Bharat takes off as a major world power, the negativist, defeatist ideology has seen a marked decline in followers. With declining memberships and stricter enforcement of FCRA rules, leftists and other Breaking India forces have seen their funds also begin to dry up. As a result, the left has taken to all sorts of gimmicks in order to gain some attention from the masses. Some had taken to conducting Ramayana months and participating in Hindu rituals!

However, with the onset of the terrible human tragedy of the Kerala floods, the left appears to have seen an opportunity to amass huge amounts of money in a quick time. In the name of disaster relief, they have raised an immense stink all across mainstream media and social media with a false complaint that the people of Kerala are being mistreated. All this stink underlines the fact that the top priority for these leftists is not the well-being of the people of Kerala. Instead, with the upcoming 2019 general election in sight, “secularists” seem intent on stockpiling as much money as possible from the Indian taxpayer and other large-hearted philanthropists. Yechury’s tweet asking for ₹20,000 cr is a clear signal that the left requires this amount to uplift themselves politically.

It is also an important matter to be noted that worldwide evangelists are also preparing to commit cultural genocide of Hindus by mass conversions of those affected by floods. Donors who wish to see their contributions being used for real humanitarian purpose have to raise their voices and demand 100% accountability from the state government and NGO’s who are receiving the donations. The left’s nasty politicking and clamouring for other people’s money for selfish purposes has to be exposed widely. Thus, both the evangelist and the leftist menaces have to be dealt with by patriotic Hindus who wish to really help the flood victims and help to rebuild a prosperous and secure Kerala.

When you let others grow, you grow

0

Recently, I visited a company for an interview. But, instead of asking questions about what I did or what I know, he went to ask questions related to that field, about which I have relatively less knowledge. When HR told me before, that they would provide me 6 months training, this guy refused in totality. First I thought I need to work more on my skills, but when brooding, I came on to conclusion that this guy became insecure looking at my profile. Though, I want to work for my own self, improving myself, I don’t have any intentions to usurp other people’s position, but insecurities just creep into them.

In 2010, when I was working in a firm, the immediate boss was insecure with me. I was a BE in Comp Sci then and he was from Polytechnic. So he never used to give me work, on the other hand tried to persuade me to join other company. He kind of harassed me then and I had to left the job, but went to take higher studies doing my MSc in same stream.

Why am I writing this? I am writing it because the lesson, which I learned over the years is that, if you want to grow, you have to focus on yourself. This means, even if others are surpassing you. Let me give you an example. There is a staircase. You are going upwards. There is another person who is behind you. He too is going in the same direction. Now, you have two options. If you stop and try to block the way of that person behind you, he cannot go upwards. But so are you. To stop him, you have to remain where you are. But the drawback is, if he goes back downstairs and takes a lift, then? He reaches where he intends to and you don’t achieve what you wanted. Moreover, you lose your respect.

In another scenario, you go on your way, reach where you wanted to, without blocking other’s path, having your respect intact or even increased. This things help you grow.

So, this is the lesson, when you let others grow, you grow. This also takes a lot of stress off your head, because here, you have to focus only on yourself. And believe me, if you are good at something, nobody can take that. So don’t be insecure, just be happy.

This is how we can use truth to peddle lies: Alt News and NDTV way

0

The short answer is we can learn that from Alt News and NDTV. But we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s take a step back.

It may sound even a bit a philosophical, and to some extent it is. Like many other philosophical questions, its discussion can be traced back to the Mahabharat. When Dronacharya asked Yuddhisthira whether Aswathama was dead or not he replied: Aswathama Hatha, Iti Narova KunjaRova

“Yes Aswathhama is dead (and then he murmured). I don’t know if its a man or an Elephant.” The murmurs could not be heard in the loud noise of the trumpet being blown on the instructions of Krishna. Strictly speaking, Yuddhisthira did not lie but can his statement really be said to be true?

Alt News claimed to have fact-checked a photograph of the RSS workers helping the flood-victims in Kerala. In reality, they are using truth (rather half-truth) to spread lies. They basically say that “Official RSS page shares old image as Seva Bharati workers working in Kerala flood relief”. The sentence has not only missing a determiner (before “old”) but the determination to tell the complete truth. Nowhere in the article, they have even given any indication that the relief work by RSS is actually happening. Many readers may be left with the impression that actually that RSS is claiming for a credit where none is deserved.

I must clarify that in no way I’m comparing Yuddhisthira and Alt News. Alt News and its co-founders have been caught lying on more than one occasion. Yudhishthira, on the other hand, was making an exception.

Tweet exposed by Rahul Roushan

This is not the only way in which truth can be used spread lies. There is this other tool of deliberate omission. Take NDTV’s attitude towards a news in which ANI shares a news where RSS and CPI(M) workers are carrying out rescue and relief operations. Rahul Roushan has exposed the selectivity of NDTV on twitter.

ANI’s full tweet
NDTV’s selective reporting to back the CPI(M)

What is really sad in all of this is that people are doing their politics over the pain and death of people of Kerala. Our efforts are being wasted in countering the narrative filled with half-truth and lies instead of using 100% mental bandwidth to help those who are in need. But then “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”.  Who will guard the guards?

This is what Pseudo secularists should know why we need temple for Lord Ram in Ayodhya

0

Having a temple for Lord Ram at the birth place of Lord Ram i.e. Ayodhya should not be seen as a political agenda or aspiration of BJP alone, but millions and millions of Indians barring all castes and religions also wish a temple for Ram at the birth place of Lord Ram- Ayodhya.

Lord Ram should not be seen just as a Hindu god but he is the god of the universe, lord of the world and saviour of all. Lord Ram represents virtues, values, truth, honesty, obedience, commitment to duty, caste equality, gratitude, self –discipline and what not.

Ram waged war against the demon Ravan and fought fiercely and finally won the war and then rescued his wife Sita who was abducted by him. After enduring such big fight and winning it, one may wonder why Ram had asked Sita to test her chastity. He did so because he as a king values even the last man in his kingdom. When an ordinary subject of his kingdom raised doubt on the chastity of Sita, immediately Ram asked Sita to prove because the Dharma of the king is to respect everyone in his kingdom. The above act proves nothing but fairness of Ram and his respect for everyone. Building a temple for Ram at Ayodhya therefore is a must to uphold the values and ethos of our ancient tradition and cultural heritage. Every Indian, irrespective of their religion, caste or political affiliation has a lot to learn from Lord Ram. Lord Ram therefore must not be reduced as Hindu God.  Ram is a symbol of tolerance, forgiveness, blessing, universal brotherhood, love, peace, social justice, respect for all etc.

Therefore those feel they are the minority community in India and those who appease minority for vote bank politics should be the first to support Ram temple because Ram gave importance to the concern of even an ordinary citizen of his kingdom and asked his wife Sita to do fire test. Lord Ram was the first to prove he must be above suspicion.

Instead of Hindus and other majority communities wish to build Ram temple at Ayodhya, it should be the minority community that must demand the temple for Ram sooner than later.

By having Ram temple at Ayodhya we are not creating one more worship place but we are re-iterating the philosophy of India loudly that India is a tolerant country which was destroyed by Babar in the past but today every Indian take pride for Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Ram destroyed the demon Ravan, killed several Asuras, given salvation to Ahaliha, shown great respect and equality to Sabari who belong to tribal community, took help of Guha and reinstalled Sugriva and Vibhishana as king after destroying the evil forces.

In every destruction, Ram not just executed those evil forces but gave them Moksha or nirvana. Even to those evil forces, Ram showed grace and kindness and gave them Moksha at the end.

Lord Ram is the symbol of one India. Therefore all those fringe players who are appeasing minority and over shouting that India is a secular nation must come first to support temple for Lord Ram in Ayodhya. Ram was a true secular king who did not heed to caste divisions. Ram has shown the path for social justice through his actions. Ram never engaged in just punishment but his philosophy of punishment had given Moksha and nirvana.

Building Ram temple at Ayodhaya will be the greatest tribute we will be offering to our secular fabrics and tolerance. Tolerance should not be seen and demanded only from the majority community alone but every community must show tolerance to each other and must contribute to the cause of one India.

In fact Rama had connected even two countries through sea by building Ram-Sethu Bridge several thousand years ago.

Hope that all those pseudo-secularists and who shout about secularism for vote bank politics must understand the truth that if they are true to the cause of secularism, they should be the first to lift the stone for building Ram temple at the birth place of Ram- Ayodhya.

Let us facilitate the mission of New India by Modiji in 2019 with the blessings of Lord Ram at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Kerala: A state drowned by communism

0

Why is a propaganda being spread that Central Govt. and BJP States are not helping Kerala?

Because currently, the only state governed by the LEFT, is Kerala. Leftists and Communists have eternal repetitive history of failing economies, failing healthcare, failing food security. Communism is synonymous with bad times, no food, civil wars, mass murders, etc.

So the scale of devastation in Kerala is going to be a big event in post independence history of India. 8 Lakh people have been displaced. History is repeating itself and this cannot be an overnight event. Communist Govt. failed to act upon this forecast calamity, which took so many lives.

They are trying very hard to blame the Central Govt. also people of India for not helping enough! As the time will pass the reality of communist Kerala Govt will be exposed.

When we were studying about communism in school, I was skeptical as to why everything was negative about Communism in our text books. There might be some mistakes by previous Communist parties. If those were taken care of, I believed Communism was more humane and good for society.

Unfortunately I was wrong.

I witnessed Communism closest when we had AAP emerging in Delhi. And Kejriwal said he would put the journalists, whom he alleged to be publishing fake news, behind the bars.

And there it goes. The aspect of Communism which I thought was not a part of Communism. No freedom of press. During my early student life, I believed that Communism and freedom of press can go hand in hand. There is NO FREEDOM in communism.

Truth about Rupee decline and why 2018 is different from 2013

0

The rupee has depreciated breaching the Rs. 70 mark for 1 USD last week. The drop has been steep with Rupee losing 7.69% since April 2018. This has prompted the usual cabal of Lutyen’s ecosystem to question the very basis of Indian economic situation. Gleeful comparisons are being down with Rupees decline in 2013. Old tweets are being dug up to buttress their smug point. But what is the truth? Why is the Rupee falling? And is this similar to 2013’s decline?

Glee of an NDTV journalist on rupee falling

Understanding currency exchange mechanism

The value in currency is reality is reflected by the purchasing power bestowed upon it. The difference is values of currencies is due to the inherent differences in the purchasing power of the currencies. On its own, it doesn’t show the strength of a currency. It is in-fact a measure of the inflationary aspect of the economy.

Let us take a simple example. Imagine two neighboring countries Alpha & Bravo with currency appropriately named as “Currency A” and “Currency B”. Let us take a common item – an apple and assume that it is grown in both countries. Let one apple cost 2 Currency A in Alpha and 1 Currency B in Bravo. The equivalence principle implies that the same product should be of same value in both the places. Assuming free movement of goods, If the products are differently valued, the sellers will rush to country where the apple has higher value and buyers would rush to the country with lower value and which will finally stabilize to ensure equivalence. Hence the exchange rates should be 1 B = 2 A.

Let us further assume that Alpha has reckless government headed by Sonia Gandhi and Bravo has responsible government headed by Modi. Because Sonia “mata” wants to fund ill-conceived welfare schemes, Alpha has to spend more than its source of tax revenues. Spending more than your source of funding is akin to printing simply more money out of thin air to pay for the difference [This is extremely simplistic explanation but serves for our purpose]. This creates high inflation resulting in loss of value in currency A.  Hence now one apple costs 10 A in Alpha. On the other hand Modi pursues responsible fiscal and monetary policy and hence Bravo has moderate inflation with one apple costing only 2 B. As explained one product must have the same value, hence the new exchange rate between A & B is as follows 1 B = 5 A.

The above illustration is a very crude explanation of exchange value determination. In reality a complex factors of country’s current account deficits, fiscal and monetary policy of both the country and the reserve currency country determine the exchange rate. However, the long-term exchange rate is simple function of inflation rate differentials.

Hence we can estimate what should be the natural rate of exchange between USD and INR. 1 USD = 62.59 INR in 2013, if we take the inflation rates of US and India, we can calculate the natural exchange rate should be in 2018.

(click on the image to see a bigger size)

The average 5 year inflation in India has been 5.62% in the 2013-18 period compared to 1.32% for the US in the same period. Hence this difference in inflation rates would have implied a USD to INR rate of 82.27. The only way INR will appreciate in natural course of action is for India to have an inflation rate lower than the US.

Why then 2018 different than 2013?

While the long-term currency rates can be calculated as above, in reality the exchange rate is most cases different from it. This is due to the myriad factors at play at any given moment of time. In the short run, the primary determining factors are current account deficit and monetary flows, both of which are dependent on the strength of the domestic economy. [Again very crude approximation of the reality]

One of the other important factor is the dollar dominance in the global currency market as the world’s only reserve currency.

To measure anything, we need a standard unit of measurement against which we compare. In case of currencies, there is no implied standard unit after US exit from the gold standard in the 1970s. Hence the currency values are relative in nature and in today’s case it is relative to dollar. And as in any relative comparison, the differences can be because of change in either or both the units. [For example, if two cars are travelling at the same speed next to each other, there are three ways one car can overtake the other – the overtaking car speeds up, the overtaken car slows down and both of these to occur].

Hence the Rupee value can fluctuate in either of the two cases.

  • India’s economic performance
  • US economic performance

There in lies the difference between 2013 and 2018. Let me elaborate on how?

2013 – August:

The INR fell by whopping 8% in one month between July 2013 and August 2018. This drop was unprecedented and seen only in countries with eminent economic collapse like in Turkey, Venezeula and Iran. Did the exchange rate decline because the rupee’s underlying value declined or because the dollar strengthened? Let us look at the data.

In the chart below, we are comparing the value of the five major Asian currencies – INR, RMB (China), KRW (S.Korea), MYR (Malayasia) and SGD (Singapore). We will see exchange rate against the dollar and plot it from Jan 2013 to Aug 2013. We have normalized by taking the exchange rate at Jan as 100.

How different currencies have performed along with Rupee in 2013

We can clearly see that the rupee was the only currency that was continuously depreciating between Jan to Aug. Most of the currency have held nearly steady against USD. While Malayasian did depreciate, it was 5% over the course of 6 months and not 20% as in case of Rupee (b/w April and August). Taking the car analogy, this is the case of Indian economic car slowing down.

This decline in Rupee value was driven primarily by the deteriorating economic condition in India. Chidambaram’s ruined fiscal and monetary policy combined with Sonia mata’s profligate ways had nearly bankrupt the nation. Current account deficit was at at 5.21% in 2012. Foreign reserves were depleting fast with our total external debt with reserves to debt ratio at 104%.

To make matters worse was the fact that the UPA government was ramrodding in introduction poisonous bills such as food security, land bill and other such pseudo welfare schemes. There were already murmurs of the NPA crisis in the Indian banking sector.  All these made India just a whisker away from collapse in confidence from the global investors. This could have lead in foreign fund outflow, even greater currency depreciation and even a IMF bail-out. Only the possibility of Modi election victory restored investor confidence and stabilized the economy.

2018 – August

Let us plot the performance of currency between Jan 2018 and Aug 2018. Let us the same 5 currencies again.

How different currencies have preformed in 2018 till August

We can clearly see that it is not just Indian rupee but the entire band of Asian and in-fact global currencies that have depreciated against. the dollar. If it was the case of economic deterioration in India, why would Korean Won, Singaporean Dollar, Malayasian Ringet and Chinese Yuan depreciate. This is the case of dollar strengthening. This is driven by the Fed’s unwinding of the QE. As the fed gradually increases its effective federal fund rate from 1.41% to 1.9%, global capital and funds are flowing back to US by higher yields on offer from relatively riskier markets. Hence from the car analogy, this is US car stepping on the accelerator overtaking the rest of the currencies.

India’s economic condition is much stronger. The GDP is expected to grow at 7.3%. The current account deficit is at 1.5% in 2017. The reforms of GST, IBC and massive infrastructure spending of Modi government are about to kick-in driving growth higher. The on-going currency volatility is troublesome but not as much as being called out for.

India primarily exports to US and EU, the depreciation of rupee actually makes our exports cheaper and competitive. This is net positive. And let us look at imports, the two major parts of the imports are as follows – China and oil.

As shown in the chart on the right, while both the Chinese RMB and Indian rupee have depreciated vis-a-vis the dollar, the relative value between them as held steady. Thus the cost of majority of our imports shouldn’t be affected.

Coming to oil, it is indeed true that the fall in Rupee value is exacerbating the cost of oil imports. But the global headwinds including trade wars and possible slow-down in China should give some respite to the oil price. Thus overall, the currency decline has negative implications on the Indian economy but nothing on the lines of what could have happened in 2013.

So even though one can expect a lot of hyper ventilating from the usual suspects on falling Rupee, we should be aware of the reality and counter the same with facts and figures.

So Sorry Nidhi, 2018 is not 2013!

It is time for the right wing to wake up and hold its leaders accountable

The gruesome murders of Hindu priests in Auraiya have jolted Kanpur region, with reports emerging that similar incidents have occurred elsewhere in the state. The English news channels have no interest in covering the news.

The Left ecosystem wants to paint a picture where minorities and dalits are cowering in fear of the oppressive upper caste Hindus. Lets look at this particular crime – two priests murdered in the most torturous way and one more priest grievously injured inside a temple by “misguided youth”. This flies in the face of the narrative; hence the understandable apathy of the English news channels which are predominantly left leaning.

Remember how the media highlighted alleged cases of lynching by Gaurakshaks, though most of them turned out to be anything but? Any murder of a person belonging to the dalit or the minority communities that happens in the country is probed from the Gaurakshak angle first and then a caste violence angle. The headlines clearly mention which community the victim belongs to and the two angles are alluded to, whether or not they are true. The chorus had grown so shrill that the Prime Minister had to talk about “Gaurakshak violence” multiple times.

Incidents like the one at Auraiya are occurring when there is a BJP government both in the state and the center. Right wing supporters are routinely being slayed in left wing bastions. The BJP governments are supposed to be right wing governments, which many people with opposing ideologies feared would be majoritarian. Under a truly majoritarian government, would such incidents receive such little importance?

To the credit of the Yogi Adityanath government, prompt action is being taken in this case. But since it has become evident that the motive of the attack on the priests was their opposition to cow slaughter, will the Right Wing make enough noise as to force the Prime Minister to talk about the meat mafia and the political murders of right wing supporters in his Mann Ki Baat?

Even after the BJP came into power at the center, the attacks on Hindus and Hinduism have not abated. The Hindu terror bogey has made a comeback, temples have still not been freed from government control, temple properties continue to be mismanaged by state endowment boards, the Aryan “invasion” theory continues to be taught in schools, right-wing supporters are murdered and conversion factories continue to run.

Most of these like freeing up temples and removing Aryan invasion theory from the curriculum are low hanging fruits which the BJP has not dared to pluck. Earlier the right-wing was vigilant because we knew that the government is not sympathetic to our cause; now we continue to face the threats but we are lax because we feel we are protected. When mosquitoes suck blood, we immediately come to know and try to take corrective action, but when leeches suck blood, we do not come to know in good time.

For way too long the right-wing has been asking where is the media and the “intellectuals” selective in their outrage and why Bollywood is silent when the victims are Hindus. Why do we expect the Left ecosystem to fight our battles for us? Why do we expect them to care about the things we hold dearly?

It is time for us to run our own hashtags, for the right wing intellectuals to step up and concertedly return their awards if need be and use every platform available to talk about violence unleashed on the Hindus in general and right wing supporters in particular. We must hold our own candle light vigils. It is time to get out of our closed groups on social media and engage with the other side on open forums.

Counter narratives must be set, meme wars must be fought and fence sitters must be won over. Constructive criticism must be fostered and those who are quick to label anyone questioning the government must be discouraged. The government which we elected must be accountable to everyone, but the party we put in power must not simply assume the support of its loyalists.

May the murdered victims attain sadgati and may the slumbering right wing wake up from the anesthesia of having put a party of its liking in power and face the reality staring at us – nobody but us cares for the Hindu.

Is democracy dying in Modi Raj? Not if you look back at the years gone by

0

As we know scripts can be scary; they need not necessarily be true. And it must be stated upfront: democracy is not in peril; it is merely undergoing change. Some people equate the two, but that happens every time a comfortable world order is disturbed.

Politics as we knew it might get changed, but that has also happened with the way we communicate, with the way our families are structured and with the kind of medicines we take.

Change doesn’t always mean progress, but the status quo isn’t always the best result either. It’s merely the most convenient.

In Modi Raj, the military is free as never before to take its stances, 2017-18 have been the years of landmark judgement by the Supreme Court of India. The country has experienced great economic changes. The government policies like Ujjwala, Jan Dhan Yojna, Atal Pension Yojna along with some unorthodox initiatives viz. Swacchta Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Digital India, Yoga Diwas have boosted India’s soft power and generated the ways of employment along with this they brought the positive social changes in our society.

And so, in spite of being on a lower row for a while, Modi Raj gave us many happy moments. And, given its resilience, it would be fair to expect a few more in the years ahead.

Modi’s decisions of Notebandi, Surgical strikes and GST were brave, courageous, some might say foolhardy but he would have slept well at night knowing he had given the nation everything he had. And he can now ask for the same with his countrymen. In an era of political manoeuvering and lying, missiles and rockets and killing and corporate hoodwinking, it seems a preety noble thing to do.

My answer to those people who say there is a sense of fear among the public in Modi Raj, “If Modi was a pill, he would never come sugar-coated. No sugar coating but the man is worth his salt.”

BJP and Congress both accusing each other of not playing according to the ‘spirit of the democracy’. Hopefully they know what they are saying because I don’t and I don’t think anybody does. The spirit of democracy is now merely a stick to beat people with and I’m afraid anyone who believes otherwise is being naive.

And so Modi Raj has not been the years of fears, merely one of change.

Kerala’s hour of tragedy – after rescue, time to step back and think

0

Heart-breaking visuals from Kerala on News Channels where people who have lost everything literally breaking down “saying they have lost everything with the floods having swept away their life earnings” tell a story of its own in Kerala. This will definitely hurt and the pain of what they have lost will linger for long. Kerala “in its life time” has not faced such mass displacements and loss of property- we always thought that would be the fate of others, somewhere in distant North India or in the North-East of India.

We, in Kerala would never have imagined that in our life time we would see “War-Time operations” of such scale& magnitude by the India Army, Navy and Air force battling a natural calamity – something we saw in Uttarakhand or in Kashmir. The long queues in relief camps housing thousands of the displaced, jostling for food and clothing was something Kerala and its populace would never have imagined would come to their doorsteps.

I do fervently hope after the rescue operations and rehabilitation operations, Keralites – it’s government and populace – take a long hard and introspective look into what can be done to take care of our state and it’s environment.

The Madhav Gadgil report for protection of the “Western Ghats & it’s environment” was vehemently opposed by certain groups bringing in religion, vote bank politics and mindless rampant consumerism. The most affected areas in Kerala because of these floods are Munnar, Idukki, Chengannur, among others.

Remember that there was a campaign three years ago for an “Aranmula Airport” which would have been reality, had it not been opposed tooth and nail by environmental groups. Think of the consequences had that airport been commissioned in Aranmula? Tough questions would have to be answered and sought after.

We can’t live in denial on the rampant destruction of nature by means of quarrying, the resort mafia and the greed that has destroyed the Western Ghats.

Modi: A Leader, Not A Messiah

0

Like in cricket coaches don’t win matches. Players do and they always have. Likewise the development of the country is not merely done by any govt. or leader but by the citizens themselves. Coaches might tinker or straighten the player’s game, play a benevolent uncle or a stern elder brother, show a little window of opportunity, maybe even a door, but they can’t win matches on their own.

Same is with any government or leader of any country. He might bring the investors, increase the job opportunities but ultimately it is the people and the entire system which has to deliver. And so while it’s important to get a good man, we can’t look upon him as a messiah.

Any person who believes so is diverting his responsibility elsewhere.

We must focus on improving the system right from the lowest end. We must consider our own responsibility in nation building. The mission of ‘Swaccha Bharat’ which is taken up by the government is not its job, but our very own duty which we have failed to recognize. Young entrepreneurs have got the more potential of creating jobs than the PSUs.

Otherwise it’s no different from a rich parent appointing an expensive tutor and believing that both his and his child’s responsibility is over and therefore we must not equate the presence of Modi with say, an ambulance or a fire engine and he too must not boast himself of being it.

Finding a good leader is an important part of the larger plan, if there is one, but is not most important. The appointment of Modi is a bit like appointing an interior decorator to work on a flat that has a dodgy foundation. He can’t develop the country like India alone but surely he must create the system that allow the people to do well.

Choosing a good leader is merely the first step. It is the people themselves who must contribute in the nation building.

We can’t expect Modi a hero who ride in from nowhere and take India to the top. Those messiahs exist only in the movies.
