Why Congress and DMK must defeat each other in Nanguneri and Vikarvandi to remain victorious

0

The forthcoming by-poll in two assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu such as Vikravandi and Nanguneri is not just another by-election but the alliance partnership of congress and DMK is under litmus test.

Defeat of congress and victory of DMK means, Congress would again comeback to the receiving end of criticism and beggary. On the contrary, if congress wins and DMK loses the Vikravandi constituency that is the end for DMK where the alliance partners are going to have greater might and negotiating power. Imagine if both congress and DMK wins, naturally both these parties are likely to think that alliance between congress and DMK is enough to win election as like in the days of Indira Gandhi and such situation is going to push VCK and MDMK, left etc., to the corner of irrelevance and poor bargaining capacity. They would be left to take or leave it situation by both congress and DMK.

Another possible issue also comes up for debate this time. The winner of the by-poll is if from DMK-congress, has only one and half years, has to sit in the opposition bench, can’t do anything to the constituency and has to face election again in 2021. For such acid test, why should DMK or congress candidate spent money and win? Even if the candidate wins, there is no surety that the same candidate would get ticket to contest again in 2021.

If both congress candidate and DMK candidate loses the by-poll, that would be good for VCK, MDMK and congress because they can collectively corner DMK and can limit the DMK to go for a coalition government than single party dominance. Therefore it is not just victory, but the margin of victory of DMK also should bother the alliance parties.  In all probability, DMK must lose, if congress, VCK and MDMK ever wants to be in government in 2021. Only through defeat of DMK in Vikravandi, the alliance parties can establish their dominance and voice and also can prove the global truth that MK Stalin is not a great leader although DMK is still a political force to reckon with.

The electorates of Nanguneri and Vikarvandi must act wisely than politically. By defeating AIADMK, the people of both these constituencies are not going to gain anything except electing a candidate of either DMK or congress who may not able to do anything great to the constituency. On the other hand, if people of the constituency elect AIADMK candidate, certainly AIADMK would do enormous work in the constituency to keep the support the people.

The issue before the alliance partners of AIAMDK is quite curious and obvious. To keep the momentum going for the alliance, all of them have to work together to ensure AIADMK wins the by-poll. Such victory will make AIADMK to keep the alliance intact where all the alliance partners will have a voice and audience in AIADMK. Otherwise people would naturally ask why such alliance exists in the first place when victory is not possible.

PMK, DMDK etc., can become partners in coalition government in 2021 if they work together with AIAMDK. Defeat of DMK is must for the survival of PMK, DMDK as a strong DMK means imminent political obituary of these political forces.

Wise bargaining with AIADMK is quite possible for these parties than with DMK. Once PMK, DMDK etc., could come to power through coalition government likely to be headed by AIADMK, these parties can easily liquidate the vote share of DMK and grow.

The real problem of DMK is lack of leadership. The present president of DMK lack wisdom, articulation, vision and effective communication skill. He fumbles when speak, mixes facts and his speeches becomes the favourite ingredient for creating memes.

Who knows, many senior DMK leaders also may be murmuring that Stalin must be defeated tactically and only then their relevance can be restored otherwise the party would become a family show, sold totally to one family.

The alliance partners of DMK must realize the absolute truth that DMK is more weak and precarious than AIADMK. AIADMK has been in power for 10 years and nothing wrong if they have to take rest for 5 years. But another 5 year rest for DMK means, DMK would vanish from the political map of Tamil Nadu which is well known to DMK. Therefore DMK would agree to come for any political compromise but must win. This situation VCK, congress, left and MDMK must capitalize fully and must cut DMK to size that it cannot win election without alliance. Similarly it is do or die battle for PMK, DMDK etc., to taste power if they fully commit to the cause of alliance with AIADMK.

People of the state should not get confused with which party is relatively better and why should they waste their vote by supporting smaller parties which in any way cannot form government in the state.

If the state of Tamil Nadu has to be improved further, pushed to the path of prosperity and development, governance free of corruption, nepotism and dynastic politics, BJP is the hope, promise and future. Certainly Rajnikanth also holds the future of Tamil Nadu if he enters the fray.  Hope BJP and Rajnikanth individually or together with AIAMDK alliance would save the state from dynastic politics.

Kashmir; it’s all about Islam

0

Kashmir, the ancient land of Sage Kashyap, the abode of Jalodbhava in the lake Sati-Sara which was drained by the Anant plough on the orders of Lord Vishnu and Jalodbhava vanquished by Sage Kashyap which made the valley inhabitable. The Nilamata Purana, the oldest source of history on Kashmir has described the legend beautifully.

Kashmir called Kasheer in Kashmiri language, however, is in turmoil today, facing an unprecedented lockdown by the authorities since 05 August 2019 after the present government under Narendra Modi abrogated the Article 370 which for long was seen as a hindrance to the complete integration of the State of J&K in the Union of India. This momentous decision has changed the very dynamics of the entire South Asian security and strategic paradigm. Kashmir, part of the Great Game of the earlier decades and later a bone of contention between India and Pakistan is geographically situated as the eyes and ears of India to the Central Asia.

However, the present problem is not of the nature of the geo-political or geo-strategic, it stems from the unique position of the Kashmir Valley being a Muslim majority region in a Hindu majority nation, India. The fact that Kashmir Valley and the Northern Areas became entirely Islamic, in the course of centuries from being a major region of Shaivism and later Buddhism, is the root cause of the problem. The gradual but definite changes in the character of Kashmir is the reason why the constant harping on the unfounded fears of a demographic change being brought about by removal of Article 370.

National Conference was the political arm of the Muslims in Valley against the rule of Dogra Hindu Kings in Kashmir. The subtle change of name by Sheikh Abdullah could not have really changed the character of the opposition in Kashmir. The fact that State of J&K has never had a non Muslim Chief Minister is testimony to the nature of Kashmir politics. No mainstream or national political parties could dare to project a Hindu or a Buddhist as Chief Minister of J&K is further evidence of the communal nature of politics in Valley. The so called Sufi syncretism is a farce, the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits is the most horrifying example of the intent of the people who consider even their own neighours of centuries as enemies. The sole reason for the genocide of Pandits in Kashmir Valley was their religion, being Hindu in the land of the pure was unacceptable to the Muslims. A Kaffir cannot choose to live as he wants, he either converts or he dies and hence the pogrom of 1990.

Kashmir feels the same way as the larger Ummah feels, after all the teachings are the same. All Masjids, all Maulvis, every Ulema, every Hadith and above all Quran speaks ill of Kaffirs, declares them heretics, infidels, unbelievers which leads to the conclusion and daily taught in all seminaries that the above all are liable to be killed by the Believers. The idea stems from the belief that there is only One God, that is Allāh, and anyone who does not follow Allāh has committed a Sin.

Pakistan has most diabolically cultivated entire generations of Kashmiri Muslims to indoctrinate them with the zeal of a Ghazi, the slayer of infidels. The so called pro- Azaadi faction was nothing but a Pakistani prop up to distract the world while it played the dangerous game of radicalisation, in the garb of assisting the US in its war in Afghanistan, Pakistan created an army of madarsa educated Taliban or students to carry out the Jihad in Afghanistan. The objective was multifold, gain strategic depth in Afghanistan with its proxy Taliban ruling and keeping the pot boiling in Kashmir through its trained cadres formed into Hizbul, Jamaat, Lashkar. The militant groups are nothing but an extension of the Pakistani Army and its notorious espionage services, the ISI. This deadly combination of the Pakistani Army, the ISI and its proxies make up the feared Deep State in Pakistan, the most powerful establishment within Pakistan.

Pakistan has gone through extreme radicalisation of its society, no state instrument or apparatus has the will or the resolve to take on the MilitaryMullah combine in Pakistan. It reflects in the manner the civil society has been silenced over the years. Both Pakistan Army, its security establishment and even its political establishment wants Kashmir to be part of Pakistan. This premise of having Kashmir at any costs has blinded any sane thought from prevailing in Pakistan. It is this thought combined with the loss of Bangladesh which has made Pakistan look for solutions to its woes in Kashmir, consequently India.

If the history of Kashmir was anything, it would have been part of Pakistan but the Maharaja was keen on keeping Kashmir an independent country. The movement led by Sheikh Abdullah was about the Rights of Muslims of Kashmir Valley, it had nothing to do with the people of the State of J&K. The entire manipulation over Article 370 , the insertion of Article 35A was an exercise for domination of Muslims in Kashmir. Sheikh Abdullah had played his part well to become the Prime Minister of Kashmir. The hegemony of a Muslim Rule was established by the very Constitution which spoke of equality. This continued even after Sheikh lost favour with Nehru and the Congress. The seeds of conflict were sown by the enactment of Article 370 and 35A, these were discriminatory in nature as it differentiated against the citizens of India. The Western Pakistan Refugees were never granted the Permanent Resident status by the State, these refugees who were mostly Schedule Caste were never recognised as ones, they could not avail the employment opportunities which their brethren could in rest of the country.

The entire edifice of Kashmir was built on exclusivity of it being a Muslim majority State. Article 370 and the Article 35A were the cornerstone of the Constitutionally mandated domination of Muslim majority and discrimination against Hindus in the State of J&K. The present militancy, insurgency or more aptly, the terrorism is nothing but an extension of the Global Jihad. Kashmir for long has been on the top of the Islamic Agenda as being a hotspot for liberating the Muslims from the clutches of the Hindu majority India. Almost all OIC resolutions speak of Kashmir in the same breath as Palestine. This has encouraged the radicalisation of society in Kashmir which no considers itself as different from rest of India. The idea of exclusivity is not regional identity but the fact that Kashmir is almost 100% Muslim especially after the horrific ethnic cleansing of Pandits in 1990s.

Most parties and political leaders are aware of the fact that Kashmir is an Islamic Problem, not a civil or political issue which can be addressed by political and civil measures, but are not ready to accept. This deliberate incoherence of thought is cultivated as a policy tool by most political parties who profess to be Secular. This has emboldened the feeling of alienation among the Kashmiri Muslims, they view themselves as a people who have been forcibly made part of the Union of India. The recent years have made it crystal clear that the entire Kashmir movement is nothing but a yearning to establish a Caliphate or Nizam e Mustafa and to be part of the greater Ummah from Morocco to Kashmir.

Article 370 and Article 35A were enabling provisions for strengthening the alienation of Kashmiri Muslims mandated by the Constitution. A grave wrong has been undone but the work has just begun, it is a long way to peace and tranquility in the Kashmir Valley. Long before the guns go silent and Kashmir regains its past glories.

The Luddite argument of Southern States over Hindi Language

0

The recent controversy over Home Minister Amit Shah’s view on introducing Hindi as a second language in all schools of the non-Hindi speaking states raised much heat and dust in the South. The DMK supremo MK Stalin is up in arms to negate the process. Already, the Centre run educational institutions with CBSE and ISCSE syllabuses, have Hindi as first/second language. Many in Tamil Nadu learnt Hindi by studying in those schools. However, the DMK supremo Stalin and his party spokespersons have been vehemently saying, this introduction of Hindi, in all state-run schools to be some kind of political game-plan by the BJP. If the Centre’s introduction is political, Tamil Nadu’s resisting it is also political. As a matter of fact, the Tamil parties are playing politics of language chauvinism.

Rabble-Rousers have come out from slumber:

Kamal Hassan, who is in political oblivion till yesterday, jumped his gun in opposing entry of Hindi to Tamil schools. He could get his pictures dubbed to Hindi for Hindi audiences, and now, he has the cheek to say Hindi is not needed for Tamil kids! What kind of statesmen are these for Liberals like Rajdeep Sardesai to support? He often offers, his channel, as the platform for Kamal Hassan to air his weirdest views. Freedom of speech! These divisive politicians should be exposed. In the name of free speech, they are talking non-sense. They are unnecessarily dragging young Tamil children, innocent by their very nature, into the politicos’ cultural war over the language. Who has given them right to deprive a language that is largely spoken in the country, Hindi?

Participating in TV debates, the Davidian parties’ spokespersons shamelessly support English as the link language in the country, instead of Hindi. No one or no political party opposes to learn English in India. The Constitution of India gives the right/freedom to learn any language including English. Many can learn English if they wish to, but why opposing the minimal introduction of Hindi? There is a provision in the Constitution for promoting Hindi as national language. What’s wrong if the country heads towards that. It’s the dream and wish of the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi ji sought for the improvement of all languages, however, he emphasized that every cultured Indian in addition to his provincial (state) language should know Hindi. Though Gandhi ji best expressed his own thoughts in Gujarati and English, he asked for the country to have a universal language i.e. Hindi.

The politicians and political parties in Tamil Nadu are so scared to support the Centre’s move, a wee bit, only indicates, their support for populism over pragmatism. The neighbouring states are not as vehement as the T.N. They all, already have a three-language formula in place in their schools. The Centre, if keen on introducing Hindi, it can go ahead with a legislation. If T.N opposes, let them not have it, the future generations of the state will suffer because of their Dumbo- politicians. In any case, let T.N, be T.N with their crackpot ideas.

The Luddite argument:

The Telugu Organisation Heads in Andhra Pradesh are shouting from rooftops against the move on T.V debates, as, in their opinion, Hindi would eventually wipe out Telugu. This is ridiculous. All along, all these years, Telugu has been marginalised by giving importance to English in both Andhra and Telangana. Both governments introduced English medium state-run schools neglecting the mother-tongue Telugu. Then, this Telugu Bhasha Samithees did nothing. Now, they have worries/qualms to say Hindi (another language of the country) would erase Telugu! For all southern states, English is the preferred language and Hindi is something that has to be kept at arm’s length! The craze for English over mother-tongue has never been questioned and it has been accepted with so much of silent reverence! Now, when it comes to Hindi, all hell broke loose! What for?

Illogical arguments of some Hindi-speaking people:

One of the arguments from an eminent Hindi-supporter (on T.V) was, that all southerners should learn Hindi so as to talk with the migrant Bihari, M.P/U. P labourers (to the South) to get their work done. To be candid, these labourers migrated to greener pastures in the South are also bound to learn the language of the place in order to make themselves understood. It’s not for the boss to learn the language of an employee. To argue more liberally, both (the employer and the employee) should make effort to learn one another’s language to work harmoniously.
Wooing a particular state necessary?

Most of the columnists and other eminences would try to woo Tamil politicians and Tamil people all the while. South India has Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam also as major languages. These languages are also considered as rich as Tamil. The author and columnist Chetan Bhagat, way back, while writing his column in support of introduction of Hindi in southern state schools, writes that the North has to have Tamil compulsory in its schools as an exchange formula. Why so? Why not one of the other south-languages? These columnists like rabble rousers, not the other sober southerners.

Hindi Language is for the identity of the country:

Logically speaking, South Indian languages are difficult to learn. Moreover, language learning is need- based. To learn some amount of Hindi for the South Indians, is a genuine concern. Then, there would be a predominant language for the country to project to the world. The government at the Centre is duty bound to promote all Indian languages as they are all our ancient treasures and contain immense wisdom. Let Hindi knit the country fabric and let states knit their own, state languages. We, as Indians take pride in all our languages. After all, multilingualism is the strength of our country. Let’s not ignore that Hindi is the identity of this country.

Language game

0

It is often pointed out that BJP-RSS and its affiliated organizations wants to impose Hindi over Tamil and other Dravidian languages. They saw this as a threat to their classical languages. Many nationalist leaders have often asked to declare Hindi as the national language and all official work to be carried out in Hindi. This type of demand always draws much criticism from non-Hindi speaking states especially Tamil Nadu.

Raising demands such like this in a country which is home to a diverse variety of people with distinction in their religion, language, customs and even race is completely irrational and an act of confrontation. Moreover, it directly violates the foundation of our constitution.

The worst consequence it brings up is the rift it creates between North and South. It works as a catalyst to further escalate the anti-north sentiments in south.

Having said that, it is equally important to explore and understand the reasons which drive some people to raise such demands.

First, in North, Hindi is not the only language to be spoken and that too is spoken in many variants and dialects. So, this is not north v/s south as it is always presumed. And this demand is mainly raised by nationalist leaders who believe using a language of their former colonial invader, especially when they have plethora of languages of their own with rich past is a sign of cultural slavery.

But, they miss to see how their objective is being not only misinterpreted but also being used as a tool for harnessing anti-Hindi votes by politicians in south.

It must be kept in mind that every language is equal and as important as other. It is not only Tamil’s duty but also ours to preserve this ancient language.

Pulling Babul Supriyo by hair through the side of a so-called intellectual student wing is nothing but a mere juvenile act, which is a cry before its death

0

In a recent childish act of the left-wing students in the Jadavpur University of West Bengal, has exposed the hypocrisy of the leftists as well as Mamata Bannerjee. On Thursday, September 19, 2019, Babul Supriyo visited Jadavpur University to address in a seminar organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Union Minister Babul Supriyo was shown black flags and allegedly heckled by some students at Kolkata’s Jadavpur University. Mr. Supriyo was held up in the campus with protesting students blocking the way to his car, news agency Press Trust of India reported.

The Union Minister alleged that he was manhandled by the students. “I did not come here to do politics. But I am saddened by the behavior of some of the students of the university, the way they have heckled me. They pulled me by my hair and pushed me,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.

He was initially stopped from entering the campus. Students affiliated to the Students Federation of India — the student’s wing of the CPM — and the Left-leaning Arts Faculty Students’ Union (AFSU) raised “Babul Supriyo Go Back” slogans. AFSU leader Debraj Debnath, who participated in the protest, said “fascist forces” will not be allowed on the campus.

The Asansol MP faced protests again on his way out, around 5 pm

“Whatever they may try to do, they cannot provoke me. The role of the opposition in keeping democracy alive is as important as that of the ruling party, and it is also necessary to listen to the differences patiently,” he posted on Twitter, condemning the “stampede-like situation”.

A childish act of wily left wing, will not save them from their death.

The so-called intellectuals, who have also won last several student elections in JNU as well as Jadavpur University, and their ideologue has frequently been vocal over the voice of dissent, claiming it as freedom of expression have exposed themselves by resisting the Union Minister to speak in the University campus. Their protest, which was not non-violent, expressed that they, in reality, never believed in the freedom of expression. For them, freedom of expression meant only their voice and idea, whereas they could not tolerate somebody else’s ideas. They exposed their nature of intolerance for which they have criticized BJP- ABVP for a long time.

A student, who is a learner and a reader, always hear all voices, but the protest made people feel that they’re not students, but the goons. Yes! As Goons never hear the voice of opposition, Left-wing students did the same, by attacking Union Minister, in the varsity. One should notice, that the AISA led left wing is also trying to end the culture of discussion and debate, where two or more thoughts meet and discuss their ideas. But when one party refuses to hear some other party’s voice, they attack the culture of debate and discussion. It must be noticed that a university without debates and discussion is a mere lecture building.

The Left-wing student federations have not just attacked the very democratic culture of debate and discussion but also mislead the students by not allowing Babul Supriyo to enter in the varsity. Calling leaders as Fascist is the very favorite charge of Leftists, which they’re doing since the ages. Although their charge has been rejected by the People of this country. Babul Supriyo is a Member of Parliament from Asansol, calling him a fascist means calling people’s choice a fascist, i.e. protesting rejecting people’s decision.

People will again hit back Mamata’s Politics of Hatred.

Misbehavior with a union minister in a state-run university also indicates that the state government failed in giving security to a Union Minister. This is not a first time when an MP or a national level leader has been attacked in Bengal, earlier during the General Elections of 2019, the then Rajya Sabha MP and BJP’s national leader Amit Shah and his caravan was also attacked.

In today’s scenario, somehow the state Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and Vice-Chancellor saved the Union Minister from the mob, which saved students and the minister from a calamity like a stampede situation. People have rejected Mamata’s hatred politics in the general elections of 2019, and will surely show her mirror in the upcoming assembly elections.

Neither Left-wing students’ juvenile act of resisting a Union Minister to enter in a State university nor Mamata’s hatred politics will be accepted in future. Both the political ideas have been rejected by people, so the parties must take a lesson from the dying Congress party so that the people of this great country would be benefitted.

Glory of Calendula, Lavender, Jojoba, Avacado etc., AYUSH could not earn in international market – A thought for Ministry of AYUSH

0

When we look at the market penetration of several herbs (botanicals) such Calendula, Lavender, Jojoba, Tea tree, Chamomile, Geranium, Avocado, Rosemary etc., and their global acceptance both by personal care and Toiletry industry and the customers certainly raise our eye brows as why we could not position AYUSH which enjoys the legacy and tradition of over 5000 years.

The global recognition of most the above listed plants cannot be more than 100 years. The question is when Avocado or Geranium can acclaim such glory and acceptance of the international community why the same position AYUSH could not enjoy?  Unless we try to understand the above question sincerely and systematically, answer to the above shall remain elusive.  Whether we create a separate Ministry of AYUSH or Ministries separately for Siddha, Ayurveda etc., still the system shall remain as a candle inside a pot.

There are several of our approaches and strategies in handling AYUSH had gone flop and turned topsy-turvy purely because the components called merit, emotion and reality we did not separate while promoting AYUSH. Those who engage in marketing all those herbal derivatives such as Jojoba, Chamomile, Calendula, Rosemary etc., used science and offered only certain possible benefits but we promoted the tradition, legacy, our emotional and religious attachments also while projecting AYUSH and tried to convince AYUSH as a proven medical science, its products, drugs and can cure the disease totally and completely.

When we associate our mind and thoughts towards certain possibility, scientific proof and reasonable substantiation for the possibility are enough to convince.  People always associate possibility either negatively and positivity only directionally and not out of total conviction.

The personal care products people use more due to their emotional reasons than due to medical reasons. Therefore science to support the possible belief system is sufficient to convince and convert the believer towards personal care products. In other words, reality, science and possibility all were kept on parallel line while promoting and popularizing all the botanicals by the personal care and toiletry industry across the world.

Whereas we always try to promote and popularise AYUSH as an absolute answer, a proven medical science, its products are drugs, the diagnostic methods of AYUSH such as Vata, Pita, Kapha are unchallengeable medical gospel etc. Although no such written approach has been taken by the Government to promote and popularize AYUSH but the oral promotion of AYUSH was always on tall claims, greater extent on falsehood, incredible promise and total cure.

In simple sense, reality, possibility and promise were never on parallel track when we promote AYUSH. The promise given or advertised was always impossible, the reality was totally different and therefore the expectation of people was not mere possibility but definite answer or solution. The world was therefore forced to look at AYUSH only through the optics of modern science when AYUSH was promoted as medical science and its products as proven drugs. Such scrutiny had in fact defeated AYUSH mercilessly because AYUSH is pro-health and post disease management practice. In definition, AYUSH is an excellent paramedical scheme meant more for wellness, body-mind balance and to heal pseudo-medical or hypochondriac problems.

AYUSH is a practice that bridged man with certain self-discipline and spirituality to deal several medical complications which were not known or defined in ancient days. The humanity of today need AYUSH greatly because AYUSH has answers for many body and mind related anxieties and apprehensions.

When people all over the world spent millions and millions of money just to fulfill the emotional and beauty needs thorough several personal care and toiletry products with wide range of botanicals and lay supine the faith in all such products, AYUSH in fact should have mesmerized and numbed the emotional and pseudo medical needs of people more effectively than those botanicals but unfortunately we have promoted AYUSH more as medical science and its products as drugs.

If we have associated the benefits of AYUSH as a possibility and probability than as definite preposition and certainty, we could have easily amassed the faith and acceptance of global community towards AYUSH. All those who visit Kerala; Kumarakom Kottakkal Arya Vidya Sala are mostly for massage therapy, mind therapy, resort life in serenity and peace, backwater boating, absolute rest for mind and body.

If Ministry of AYUSH ever recognize the merit and limitations of AYUSH, differentiate what is possible and reasonable than what is promised and boldly define AYUSH as paramedical wellness based practice, certainly we can bring AYUSH to the centre stage among global community. AYUSH can reasonably fulfill both emotional, mind and physical needs of everyone.

Cross pathy by several AYUSH vaidyas in private practice is also equally affecting he credibility and reputation of AYUSH because many patients as a result of cross pathy doubt the effectiveness of AYUSH products and thus the institutionally qualified AYUSH vaidyas in private practice are going after allopathic drugs than AYUSH products. Siddha system in Tamil Nadu has been hampered by cross pathy by some Siddha vaidyas in private practice. If the Ministry of AYUSH address all the above issues and bring a clear strategy by defining AYUSH as paramedical practice, certainly we can earn great reputation, recognition and acceptance for AYUSH.

The Dynast with Duryodhana syndrome

0

The glory and reputation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is growing day by day, expanding in great magnitude and PM Modi is propagating the mission of development, peace, sab ka vikas and corruption free governance. On the other side, the dynast and other tukde tukde gangs are constantly engaged in nothing but negative propaganda and hate politics and are shrinking, drying out and getting irrelevant increasingly but they still prefer to remain like Duryodhana to Lord Krishna.

Lord Krishna went to Hastinapur as messenger of peace and prosperity and requested Duryodhana to be merciful and intelligent towards his five brothers so that an unnecessary war can be avoided but the arrogant Duryodhana was not in a mood to listen to Lord Krishna and finally scripted own destruction.

When Modi receives international honour of undeniable respect and dignity, the opposition parties and the dynast love to mock instead of receiving the news with grace and magnanimity. After all, all such glory is conferred to our dear Prime Minister so India has more reason to celebrate than wink.  But our opposition parties don’t show any decency and maturity to praise PM Modi. Even if they don’t want to praise PM Modi they can avoid mocking our dear Prime Minister.

Like the Shakespeare’s saying “coming events cast their shadow before”, the opposition parties and the dynast are digging own graveyard by uttering nonsense at Modi.

Modi as the first Prime Minister proved the dignity, glory, richness and leadership character of India in the global level otherwise India was down in shame and humiliation due to countless allegations of scams during UPA1 and 2 such as 2G, CWG, Adharsh, Coal block allocation, INX media, Aricel-Maxis etc.

The task of PM Modi in his first term was quite herculean because India has to be saved first as well as its lost glory has to be regained. At international level, Modi made India a very confident country with great heritage and culture – called Hinduism by promoting YOGA, the soft power.

Unlike congress party and other tukde tukde gangs that had earned the tag of most corrupt to scientifically corrupt (DMK), Modi has earned the warmth of love and appreciations of people for governing the state free from corruption and nepotism.

The opposition tumble, slip, fall and fumble before Modi because most of them carry a huge baggage of corruption and scam, kickbacks and political misdeeds therefore their guilt unknowingly making them tremble before PM Modi, the incarnation of honesty, embodiment of development and sab ka vikas. Secondly none of the opposition parties and the dynast has any vision, agenda or plan as what they have to offer to the nation. Neither they have an agenda nor do they have a leader who can claim he is honest and transparent. Therefore like Duryodhana, the dynast and other tukde tukde gangs are opposing PM Modi and promote hatred against Modi.

Need of the hour is an unconditional support to Modi to make India a great land.  Let us vanquish divisive dynastic political forces and tukde tukde gangs from the political map of India. Good and noble governance needs no opposition and therefore let us make India doesn’t have any opposition to Modi.

Where are the guardians?

0

Of late I have come across some news articles, which showed the lack of a strong support base in schools and how we have deviated from schools being centres of knowledge and excellence to political and religious entities. Whether it’s the recent case of a school in Assam imposing a Hijab dress code for girls or the political parties from the South raising a hue and cry over what they call the imposition of Hindi. Then there are institutes which charge a bomb just to get your kid into kindergarten. All in all, schools where we teach our younger generation the values of life have slowly become toxic, bigoted, political and most importantly business centres. How did we deviate so much?

I studied in a Roman Catholic school by the name St. Patrick’s High School at Secunderabad in the State of Telangana. The teachers in my school were one of the best and their dedication towards the welfare and well being of the students was above reproach. My school had everything. We had a huge cricket ground, tennis court, basketball court, playing arenas, galleries and even a computer centre, which was started immediately after Computers made their way into India. I am proud to say that I was one of the few students who got to learn programming languages like Gwbasic when in school way back in the year 1994.

We also had a library, a physics and chemistry laboratory, annual days, cultural festivals, science festivals, intra school sports events and many other extra curricular activities. As students we were encouraged to participate in as many events as possible and discover our talents by ourselves. We weren’t judged or discouraged. Education meant learning, discovering and understanding not marks, grades or money.

All this is not to say that everything was hunky dory. Infact I remember when I was in my 8th class, all the students of the school were distributed Bibles by the school management and Bible reading was made compulsory. Our school was trying to push a religious agenda on the young students and it was here that the strength and courage of our teachers stood up. Unlike today where there is a lot of media attention, the news hardly got out of our school.

But I still remember my Telugu language teacher Sri Suryanarayana Murthy Mavuduru Garu, who stood up to the school management and educated the students on the bigoted religious agenda being pushed by the school management. He could have been fired for what he was doing but he stood upto it and he also organised Bhagavad-Gita classes in West Marredpally community hall every Sunday morning for all those students, who were interested in learning the Gita. Many of us joined because we had a teacher, who did not ask us to hate the Bible or the religion but instead provided a deeper insight into what was happening and asked us to think for ourselves.

We were taught to distinguish between bigotry and secularism from a very young age and may be that helped us all into turning out to be individuals, who follow their own culture but respect other cultures as well. Not only that, as students we were encouraged to learn, explore, discover and think. We weren’t put in a class full of students forced to learn everything by rote, neither were we forced to follow the religious beliefs of our school. We were encouraged by our teachers to excel in whatever we chose to pursue. And that my dear friends is the root cause of all the problems facing the present generation of students.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE TEACHERS GONE?

Our Telugu language teachers were one of the best, right from my lower school Kusuma teacher to my High school Suryanarayana Murthy sir. In fact Suryanarayana sir made our Telugu classes fun and interesting. Even poems were made into these singing competitions, where students were encouraged to sing out the poems in their own way. I still remember the amazing way one of my classmate Vamsi sang a poem in front of the whole class encouraged by the way our own sir sang one poem. It was truly amazing. We were all so impressed by this talent in our friend.

In fact it wasn’t only our language teachers, most of my teachers from school were the best. They always encouraged, coaxed, cajoled and even beat us up when we strayed but always with the intention of making us learn and evolve into better human beings. Mario Joseph sir, our Mathematics teacher in High school used to have a day of every month just to give all the students of the class a caning on the backside. His only explanation was spare the rod spoil the child. It wasn’t indiscriminate hitting. It was more like a day of caning for the entire class. None were spared. Kept all of us on our toes and ensured that we were all on our best behaviour at all times because you never knew, when Mario sir was watching and you didn’t want to give him anymore reason to cane you harder. And he was an excellent Mathematics teacher. He made Math learning so simple and easy that even the dullest amongst us could grasp the subject without much difficulty.

Yes, we did have a couple of teachers who gave you low marks to get you into their tuition but that was the beauty of the school we learnt our life lessons at. We weren’t judged by the marks we got and that gave us all the confidence in the world. A system, which encourages a student to try his/her hand at various subjects and activities so that they can discover their true talent is, what is required for young minds.

Now the situation is totally different, either we have teachers who are interested in money and prefer corporate schools and their rote design or those few remaining, who still work for the benefit of the children, are brow beaten by the parents into conforming to the new normal. There is a real dearth of quality education in our schools and that is seen in the gradual decay of our education systems. Yes, we are producing Engineers, Doctors and so on and so forth by the millions but most of them don’t even have the minimum requisite skills to survive let alone succeed. We are letting political discourse decide, whether a kid should learn Hindi or not.

Is it so wrong to learn a third language? How can it be imposition if it helps the kid into becoming multilingual? I mean I was literally forced into learning Tamil in Chennai during my graduation years to survive there. Isn’t that imposition then? I already knew my mother tongue Telugu along with English and Hindi, which I learnt in school. Now I was being forced to learn a completely alien language just to survive after i grew up!!! How can that be fair? But I did not feel it as an imposition as I was equipped to learn new languages and it excited me to learn another language because as kids in school we were encouraged to learn new things. Knowledge was like an ocean and one should always yearn to learn more was the mantra we grew up with.

Now look at the situation. You are discouraging students from learning a new language because it doesn’t fit your narrow political agenda. Even a veteran like Kamal Hassan, who earned big bucks making Hindi movies doesn’t want Hindi imposition. Look at the hypocrisy in that. None of these so called protectors of heritage and culture can actually explain the harm in learning another language. Their argument is that local languages will cease to exist. They mean to say that if a kid learns Hindi, he will suddenly stop speaking with his Mother and the rest of the community in his mother tongue. If that isn’t absurd, I don’t know what is?

And what do they mean by imposing Hindi? Every language has it’s own beauty and heritage. No one language is above the other. But to say that India shouldn’t have one unifying language that is understood and spoken by all is an argument I don’t understand. I mean most of India speaks in Hindi except for Tamilnadu and to some extent Kerala from the Southern states. And when did anyone say that all the other regional languages of each of the states will be barred and will no longer be taught?

And to say that Hindi should not be a unifying language of the country is like saying every state should have it’s own National Anthem in it’s own native tongue! Why should only one State bag the honour of writing our National song? That is the sort of hare brained argument politicians will be coming up with if this sort of blatant disregard for Unity is not nipped in the bud. If any of these people who speak against the alleged imposition of Hindi can tell me what is wrong in allowing the kids to become multilingual, I am all ears! Yes there is Unity in diversity and we proudly beat our chests about the Unity in our diversity. But when someone says let there be a unifying language for the entire country we point at our diversity to say no to Unity? How can that be? How can that be? The Unity that comes with our diversity also requires a unifying language for effective interaction and communication. When people can understand each other better is when people can appreciate the diversity in each other’s cultures and that is what helps in unity. Not stereotypes created by the media outlets and politicians.

As I said when religion and politics enter our schools, it’s the guardians of these institutions who have to stand up to such narrow minded bigoted individuals. And those guardians are our teachers. When teachers are devalued and the quality of teachers is laughable, they can’t be the guardians of these institutions nor can they be the custodians of the students welfare. And that makes schools breeding grounds for incomplete and useless education. Students are dumbed down and are raised into becoming bigoted individuals without any room for temperance and reason. That is why we need teachers who are strong, dedicated and above all the true guardians of our education system, who don’t allow politics and religion to play a role in shaping of young minds.

I would like to end this article by thanking each and everyone of my teachers, who stood like a rock behind us and encouraged and molded us into becoming all-rounders in real life. Especially I would like to thank Sri Suryanarayana Murthy sir for making our classes fun and knowledgeable and making us understand the significance of thinking on our own. Just so everyone knows, the imposition of Bible study for all was quickly discarded by the management, after all the students protested along with the teachers, who quickly saw the wrong in it and were brave enough to raise their voice against it. We didn’t need the media or Bajrang Dal to tell us what was right or wrong as our teachers were strong enough to defend us and make us learn to differentiate between right and wrong. Jai Hind.
