The strange relations: Remembering Pranab Mukherjee

Pranab Mukherjee had to bear very strange relations with the political party he belonged to, either officially or ideologically, and his home state of West Bengal which he represented politically in the Parliament. He was often criticized, in the Bengali media and mostly in the popular addas (Bengali community chat sessions), as nonperforming or not-active-enough son of the soil for the causes of the state. Some of it might be true, given the series of high and mighty ranks he held at the national level and the simultaneous recession of Bengal in almost every sense in the national scenario. However, the allegation might also be an overstatement, given the track record of performance of many a so-called performer, and show-offer as well, from the state. Mukherjee could be anything but a show-offer.

His strange relations with the Congress beat all other strangeness in his career, if any. The five-decade political and legislative career, which saw him leading, not simply holding, portfolios in Finance, External Affairs, Defence, Planning Commission, including endless political responsibilities (Official Biography), proved him as the man with the secret mantra to virtually run an aged political party that seemed to reject Darwin’s theory of evolution. He performed so well as Indira Gandhi’s Finance Minster in 1982-84 that he ascended to the highly competitive rank of No. 2 in the cabinet of a Prime Minister who reportedly enjoyed working with the coterie of changing characters (Tradition of coterie). Mukherjee had to suffer an exile in the post-Indira Congress which, under Rajiv Gandhi and his coterie, virtually threw him out until India got a Prime Minster of nonNehru-Gandhi clan in 1991. The man, who, according to many Congressmen, should have succeeded Indira by merit, was trashed by the dynasty as an example of poetic injustice, as it were. He, however, came back under P. V. Narasimha Rao and began to prove himself indispensable in the matters of administrative and political management.

The Congress (read: the dynasty) had to understand the necessity of the man, particularly in a moment when the party had entered into its historical phase of decline, and thus a highly respectable reincarnation began through a mutually beneficial understanding and recognition between the man and the party. The turnaround which began in 1991 saw its fruition from 1998 onwards as he literally became the ‘thinking cap’ of the Congress. People like Ahmed Patel could be the closest aides of the party supremo Sonia Gandhi at certain levels of realpolitik, but Mukherjee remained the answer to all situations concerning politics, governance, economy to say a few, while remaining close to the current dispensation of the dynasty at a different level. Mukherjee had his second moment of poetic injustice in 2004 when he accidentally missed the post of the Prime Minister (PM) after Sonia Gandhi declined the post, having listened to her “inner voice” (Inner voice), and made Dr Manmohan Singh the PM in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government. The strange relations continued as Mukherjee seemed to have given his career-best performance to the government and the party in multiple roles that ranged from the most crucial ministries and parliamentary posts at the Centre to the political role of leading the party in his home state, West Bengal.

The man, who could not become the PM despite the merit, became the virtual PM in the UPA government by that merit itself. Perhaps, his very merit went against him in the run-up to the PM post as it was too glaring to keep in check and use as proxy. But the beauty of the man and his relationship with his party lay in the fact that he rose to deliver his best in the numerous key roles, which none other than he could have performed at such ease, and to keep the core of governance running in a government which was otherwise maligned by a record number of scams and corruption charges.

Mukherjee entered the last phase of his active career when he became the President of India in 2012. It seemed otherwise a befitting climax in a glorious career in public life spanning over 50 years. But this prestigious appointment could not get rid of controversies, which might (not) be unwarranted and unfounded. Allegedly, Mukherjee was shunted to the ceremonial post with a view to keeping the run-up to the PM post less populated. Dr Manmohan Singh was sure enough to step down after his second term in the post. Whatever might be the case, Mukherjee proved himself again what he always did before.

India got the most deserving man at the moment to stay at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The spectacular support he received across the party lines in his presidential election continued even during the five-year term of his office. As always, Pranab Mukherjee left his signature in whatever he did, even in the confines of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, be it his rejection of the mercy pleas of the terror-convicts (mercy petition) or his highly acclaimed approach to signing or not signing Bills solely on their merits (Bills; approves). Not to forget his post-Presidency highly confident yet hugely debated visit to the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevok Sangha (RSS) in Nagpur on June 7, 2018. He remained himself in his keynote speech that made even his former party, which was dead against the visit, find something to cheer about in it (Lessons).

Mukherjee’s death has been mourned by the nation; by the people of West Bengal who have lost the last in their political who’s who in Delhi; by the Congress which was too-close-yet-too-far for the man, always. It was indeed a very special relationship!

Youth has to do exactly what the opposition did in 1967

0

Political earthquake‘ is the term used for the historic election results of 1967. The watershed year of 1967 saw something unusual and unprecedented – the party which for years seemed to be the only option, the party which many thought could never suffer electoral losses, the strongest of all – the Congress – did terribly in both general and assembly elections! Congress witnessed its lowest ever tally of seats and share of votes since 1952 in the Lok Sabha. In the assembly elections it lost as many as 9 states (including the state of Prime Ministers – Uttar Pradesh.) The famous saying was “You could take a train from Delhi to Howrah and not cross even a single Congress-ruled state.” One can easily conclude, it was the first major jolt to the grand old party.

So what accounted for this seismic shift? Action of the opposition. Rising unemployment, economic downfall and price rise were issues vocally brought up by leaders like Rammanohar Lohia who were efficient in realising the urgent need of highlighting the undemocratic and anti-poor attitude of the political dispensation. Bandhs, hartals and strikes were regularly called. These efforts eventually led to fruition. Congress suffered huge electoral losses due to its inefficiency. 1967 elections were a breaking point of the popular perception that Congress was there to stay forever. Most importantly, the call for change was made.

Today after 50 years, India finds itself in almost the same situation. With record high unemployment, alarming GDP numbers, and down falling economy, India faces major challenges and just like in 1967, the ruling party appears invincible, infallible – the strongest of all! What role is the opposition playing amidst these circumstances? How is the main opposition party Congress faring?

Loyalists of the grand old party would argue that Congress is endeavouring hard, but the harsh truth is people of India do not repose faith in Congress or Rahul Gandhi. Taking solace from dislikes on PM’s Mann ki Baat would not help. Congress fails to recognise the mood of the nation and the pulse of the people. Rahul Gandhi has become what people call a ‘drawing room leader’ who is more active on Twitter than on ground. (Ironically, majority of India doesn’t even exist on this microblogging site). Inshort, Congress has failed the people of India as the opposition. India deserves more, it needs a strong opposition which can expose the fault lines in administration, which can win the trust of people. But the reality is ugly. Let alone exposing the fault lines in administration, Congress doesn’t have its own house in order. Rather than passing resolutions against the regime, they are passing resolutions against their own leaders. Congress’ Lakhimpur Kheri unit, Uttar Pradesh, sought action against Congress leader Jitin Prasada for writing to Sonia Gandhi. This is enough to show that Congress has been reduced to just one ideology – ‘parivaarvad‘. Thus there is little expectation from the Congress. It is almost as if there is no other party(other than the ruling party) left in the political landscape of India.

At a time, when the opposition seems to be in no mood of doing its business what can be a possible solution? Youth. The youth of this nation should take the responsibility of exposing the fragilities of government. Until the young minds of this country start thinking about the collective good, India cannot become a world power. I call upon my comrades to understand that no political party presently is serious enough. All parties are busy filling their coffers. ‘Revolution’ would be a big word to use, but a ‘movement’ is surely something we need. Our future is what we should resolve to carve on our own. As they say, we have to fight for our right! So, how can change be brought in? One cannot lay down a complete roadmap. But one thing is sure, by asking questions and showing dissent, the establishment can be made more accountable.

For asking questions, one needs to be, in the first place, more aware and sound of the political happenings. Each young person must assume that he or she is the opposition in this country. He or she is bound to assess government’s policies and to figure out whether they are in nation’s interests. We need to engage in politics. After all, politics is not a spectator’s sport, it’s an active sport. You and I have to do exactly what the opposition did in 1967. So let us pledge to ask questions, let us pledge to be less complacent, let us pledge to drop the ‘chaltaa hai‘ attitude, because it’s high time now. Change is what we want!

Pakistan should leave the obsession with India (Kashmir) and look into its own yard

0

Tens of thousands of Sunni Muslim extremists came to the streets of Karachi on Saturday to protest against the Shia minority in Pakistan with slogans like Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir. Pakistan administration and leadership often tend to convey to not divide them into sectarian lines we all as Muslims stand united. What they fail to accept and admit that no minority group in Pakistan can ask for their rights. Many researchers have produced work including the mention by an ex-Pakistan military leadership that Pakistan’s army has a strong influence on its administration. They claim to be democratic but every other day you hear a human rights violation or disappearance of journalists, and we thought human rights and free media is the foundation of democracy.

Indian army has killed so many terrorists especially after the abrogation of article 370 and 35A, many of them were Pakistan nationals. This obsession goes back to the partition of India and the creation of Pakistan. Days after partition Pakistan army with Afghan Kabaili marched on to capture Kashmir illegally and with force. Indian army has managed to push them back at large but the UN security council was involved until then and both Pakistan and India managed to agree to draw a line of control and today some parts of former state Jammu and Kasmir are still under Pakistan occupation. After that action of force, the Pakistan army has fought three more wars with India, and which they don’t accept that they lost those wars. One of those wars even cost them which in today’s day and age called a separate country Bangladesh. Bangladesh which was known as West Pakistan before was suffering for the same brutality and supremacy of the Pakistan army which the communities other than Pakistani Punjabi Sunni Muslims face today in the current state of Pakistan.

Pakistan state failed to accept their failures and their obsession with India and specifically with the union territory of India Kashmir grows more and more as the days go on. They are completely ignoring what’s going on in their own country. There have been several movements of separation within Pakistan from the oppression they are facing in the state of Pakistan which includes states like Balochistan, Sindhudesh, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit- Baltistan and Jinnahpur and Muahajir Sooba. With all these separation movements millions of common citizens of Pakistan are suffering through poverty and hunger.

Pakistan needs to admit its failures and move forward. They must leave their obsession with India(Kashmir) and handle their own yard otherwise that day won’t be far when you see several states just like Bangladesh forming from Pakistan.

Why has Uddhav bulldozed Kangana’s office? Will it sink the MVA Government?

0

What happened on 9th September in Mumbai, was unprecedented and shameful. The way bulldozers bludgeoned Kangana Ranaut’s office in Pali Hill, was one of the most revolting pictures I have come across in many many years. It was an ugly display of brutal state power being used against a common woman. A woman, though she is hugely popular as a cine star, has no real means to resist this kind of disproportionate misuse of state machinery. It has made the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) Government generally and particularly Shiv Sena look foolish. It has also rankled the nerves of coalition partners, NCP and Congress badly. And the feeling that this alliance is increasingly untenable has come back sharply. But does that mean this Government will fall immediately? The short answer is, No!

To explain further, this Government is so unstable, that nothing can weaken it further. It, right from day one has been on borrowed time. So this desperate act has only exposed this fact, in a more pronounced manner. But this blatant show of power will not make the alliance partners walk away from Sena yet. Now the question arises, why did Uddhav go after Kangana?

There is a duel explanation to it. First very short term & personal and second, mid term & political.

Kangana began it all

Obviously this series of embarrassment started with Sushant Singh Rajput’s unfortunate death, on 14th June. The speed with which, Maharashtra Government was eager to declare it a suicide, raised the first doubt. When you add Disha Salian’s death, who was Sushant’s manager, which happened only a week before Sushant’s death, to it, it looks like too much of a coincidence. Immediately on 15th June, Kangana released a video, in which she hit out at Bollywood clique which (as per her) boycotts outsiders. She adds that Sushant’s work was never acknowledged and which in a way contributed to this death. She also charges them with instigating her to take her own life.

Sushant’s death, which just like Jiah Khan or Disha Salian’s death would have gone out of public minds, had Kangana not taken up the issue. But now this had grabbed eyeballs, leading to TV channels and Social Media (SM) networks picking up the story. And within no time it was converted into a national issue. Which led to a petition to the court to hand over the case to CBI, which obviously led to Rhea’s arrest. With Rhea all set to spill the beans, indications are there that this is going to engulf Thackeray family members in some way.

It’s quite evident that all this has not only embarrassed Thackerays, but it has also dented their political capital. So there is a strong, immediate motivation to harass Kangana. For Shiv Sena’s core base, the supreme leader can’t be seen to be outmanoeuvred by a woman. That too a non-Marathi outsider. For these core supporters, Shiv Sena’s image as a local Militia is everything. Vigilantism is Shiv Sena’s hallmark. Bulldozing Kangana’s office was ‘Justice Delivered’ for insulting the heir to the Balasaheb’s throne. The 10th September, headlines in Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece, ‘Saamna’, explains this ‘Supreme Leader’ mindset perfectly. It says “Ukhad Diya”! Which, is a reply to Kangana’s relentless provocations and challenges. Please appreciate, on a national level, Shiv Sena is a political party. But say, in Mumbai, it’s an ‘Extra Constitutional’ authority which can settle matters and deliver justice without Government intervention. That Government may even be it’s own!

Maratha Reservation – The Thorn in MVA’s side

Now the second and larger part behind this bizarre action is aimed at controlling the news cycle. You see, this MVA Government is facing big embarrassment on the Maratha Reservation issue. The Supreme Court has ruled that this year their Maratha quota will not be applicable to Jobs and Education. It has referred the matter to Chief Justice to constitute a larger bench. However, admissions already made in Post-Graduate courses under Maratha Quota will stay. And there lies the rub of the whole issue. The students who are undergoing their courses could take admissions because the BJP Government, led by Devendra Fadnavis, passed a law granting Marathas Reservation in November 2018 in jobs and education.

And this is not the only embarrassment it’s facing. Maharashtra continues to top the ghastly Corona infections and deaths chart. The state continues to add more than 25% of national infections every day. The much larger state Uttar Pradesh or state as big as Maharasthra, like West Bengal are doing much better. Add to this, several incidents, such as Anant Kursmuse beaten police at the behest of Jitendra Awhad. Or fraudsters Wadhwans being allowed to travel illegally to Mahabaleshwar. Or Bandra migrant workers creating a riot like situation. And of course Palghar Sadhus Lynching! So you see, Uddhav Thackeray’s administration has been a complete failure.

Even in his own party, he is losing control steadily. First, there is a section in ranks and also old leaders that, which feels that aligning with Congress has made it difficult for them to explain party stand on many issues. It’s too much of strain. Second, there is a resentment that Uddhav has allowed a virtual free run to NCP on various administrative issues at district and taluka level. Which is showing up through incidents such as Corporators defecting to NCP or MP, Sanjay Jadhav resigning, again because of NCP’s bullying.

Not to be forgotten the belligerent Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis breathing down Uddhav’s neck. And consuming footage, because of positive news. Since the Corona outbreak, he has been working very hard. In the last 6 months, he has travelled more than the CM and his Deputy put together. And, he looks fully capable of swinging 25 odd MLA any day from ruling benches and pulling down this Government. In fact, if today BJP is not making any effort to engineer any defections, it’s because of the Corona crisis.

Uddhav – A complete failure

All in all, this MVA alliance in general, but Shiv Sena or rather Uddhav Thackeray in particular, has been an abject failure running this Government. And it has been facing all-round criticism and from many quarters. Even Marathi press, which is incapable of criticising anything Sharad Pawar does, had to allot time to Shiv Sena blunders. After all, for them, TRP remains the top priority.

Hence, these immature and churlish tactics, to grab eyeballs and occupy public minds, hoping people may forget the bigger failures. But you see, in the days of Social Media and with opposition like BJP,  this won’t work for long. And while this may make Shiv Sena’s small base happy, sooner than later, Uddhav will have to face the wrath of people of Maharashtra.

As I am about to finish this, news came in that a 63-year-old, Madan Sharma – Retired Navy officer, was dragged out of this house and beaten by six Sena goons. It’s quite clear that Uddhav Thackeray and his advisor, Sanjay Raut are going to torment Mumbai for asking too many questions. Dear Mumbaikars, brace yourself, Shiv Sena is about to run riot in Mumbai.

Farmers: Why is there no media attention where our food supply depends?

0

While farmers play an important role in contributing to our day to day livelihood mainstream media is completely ignoring what’s happening with farmers in Haryana. The recently central government has introduced three ordinances to improve the market status for the farmers. The three ordinances according to Firstpost:

“The first among them is the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance 2020, which allows farmers to sell products outside the markets notified under the various state agricultural produce market laws (state APMC Acts).

The second ordinance, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Ordinance 2020 overrides all state APMC laws with reference to the sale and purchase of farm products, and bring uniformity into contractual farming rules (and state APMC Acts) across India. It also amends the role of APMCs in the case of contract farming.

The third ordinances, the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Ordinance 2020, has brought changes into a list of essential items whose prices are regulated by the government.”

While the central government failed to communicate these properly, the opposition took a chance to raise a point where they believe it will destroy the existing mandi system of farmers. Farmer’s community in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are in uncertainty with this farmers have been protesting and they have blocked the Delhi-Chandigarh highway in Kurukshetra, Haryana for some hours as a result of which Police used force in order to clear the way. There has been violence and stone-pelting by the protesters as per the authorities.

Where all the attention is going for what’s been happening surrounding the arrest of Rhea Chakraborty on drug charges and what’s been happening in Maharastra due to the autocratic behavior of Shiv Sena, media has ignored the police brutality on farmers who were protesting on their own right even if it was a case of opportunism by the opposition. Due to social media and it’s power this story is reaching to some but still until it is picked up by the mainstream media it won’t get enough attention needed. There is no point denying that due to the covering of late superstar Sushant Singh Rajput’s story the case been moved drastically forward in order to find justice for his family and his millions of fans. As the mainstream media picked up the late actor’s story they have seen the engagement of viewers increased, the main focus for that movement was to get CBI and Supreme court’s attention to the irregularities in the case but in the process, the media is clinging to the case for too long and other important matters like the story of the farmers are being ignored.

We need serious reforms in our media where news stories should be news focusing rather than TRP or clickbait focused. We understand that the news channels also have to run businesses in order to sustain but they should make sure that the important matters are not being ignored in the process. Also, it is our moral duty as well to make sure we listen to the people who put food in our plates.

It happens only in India: Women and the destruction of evil

0

The Hindu civilization, despite being the only ancient civilization still in existence, has been refuted and discredited as myths by people with their own selfish agenda. As a result, the people of our country keep repeating the same disastrous mistakes over and over again. Women have been the focal point of all our epics. Ancient historical texts have highlighted how using force on a woman, who stands with truth, ultimately led to the downfall and destruction of those who were thought to be invincible. The atrocities committed against Kangana Ranaut, a fearless woman fighting for the truth, makes me wonder what end is to be met by her torturer and current “ruler”.

In Hinduism, Devi Durga is known to be the Durgati Nashini, meaning the destroyer of all evil forces. She was born to kill Mahishashura, an Asura, who was undefeatable by any man or male diety. Her victory over the mighty Asura earned her the title of Mahishashura Mardini.

Only women with weapons were not known to be extraordinarily powerful. Mata Sita was an incarnation of Devi Lakshmi whose most potent weapon was her virtue. She was treacherously kidnapped by the invincible Ravana, an act which ultimately led him to his destruction. It is true that Sri Ram, her husband, struck the final blow on Ravana, but had he not invited the wrath of Mata Sita, he wouldn’t have met his end so disgracefully.

Take another example, Devi Gandhari, who has been immortalized in our courts of justice because she was an epitome of non-inclination and unbiased decisions. She never blessed her 100 sons to win the Kurukshetra war because they were on the side of adharm and evil. However, she believed that Sri Krishna, who was known to be the reincarnation of Sri Vishnu, could have stopped the war if He wished and thereby keep her sons alive. She could not bear the pain of losing a hundred sons and rightfully blamed Sri Krishna for their death. As a result, she cursed Him that His whole dynasty would perish in front of his eyes. And so did it happen. Sri Krishna saw the end of Yaduvansh before he left this earth. Even the Preserver, Sri Krishna, could not protect himself from the wrath of a virtuous woman.

So you see, history is proof that one should not enrage a woman fighting for truth and justice. Kangana stood up against the injustice being done to Sushant Singh Rajput by falsely tarnishing his image and declaring his death a suicide without any forensic evidence. She spoke up against the Maharashtra government and Mumbai police which tried to botch up the investigation by brute force BECAUSE THEY BELIEVED THEY COULD DO ANYTHING THEY WISHED AS “RULERS OF MAHARASHTRA”. Maharashtra CM, either because of putramoh (weakness on account for the love for his son, as also exhibited by Dhritarashtra in the epic Mahabharata) or on account of being a megalomaniac (like Ravana) has invited the wrath of every woman in this nation. Whatever be the reason, he has chosen the path of adharm and has symbolically wronged every woman of this great nation, and so will his ego meet its end very soon. He should remember that history repeats itself and should show repentance for his deeds if he wants to reclaim himself.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has many angles

0

The continuous and uninterrupted coverage of TV channels in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide opens a new vista to the viewers: Bollywood being a prototype of Hollywood in liberal (western) values. That being said, Sushant’s sad demise has many angles like: nepotism, favouritism, and quid pro quos, relationship and its ill-effects in youngsters that would bring psychiatric problems and narcotics. The psychiatric and bipolar angle has come to light after his death by Rhea and other psychiatrists, in a ghastly manner. But never when he was alive, when he was on sets by the technicians or by his friends or by his other heroines about his odd behaviour, often a psychiatric person exhibits. So, whether Sushant had the problem so severe comes under a doubtful domain. Bi-polar nature is not easy to hide.

English education and English culture is the preserve of most Bollywood actors, as they being the children of accomplished Bollywood artistes/producers. With that advantage at hand, the actors preach the public what is good for them. They may say that it is their personal opinion. However, that is not the case. In fact, they are airing their opinion not among their friends or colleagues. They are addressing the public on television channels, with that edge that is denied to a common or a reasonably educated person. When they do so (by airing their opinion), people take sides. It is not the fault of the people to have a mind of their own to think. Why are these matinee idols getting so much of space on the television or social media, is debatable.

‘Mine is correct. I am abused and trolled by a small/ large section, someone intimidated me by some threats of rape-kind’, are the usual complaints by female actors (i.e. actresses). Threat and abuse are indicative of uncultured behaviour. However, the heroines should know in this country, many are not born to rich parents or born to urban Delhiite or Mumbaikar. They have not been sent to English convents to couch their words in sophisticated terminology to impress, especially liberal educated society. However, they are also the fellow beings of the country. Maybe they used uncouth language but the reason for it is you, the actor. There are ways and means of conveying a message. The actors should know.

‘I have a set of liberal ideals. According those, one can lead life as they wish to and should not be blamed. Be it maintaining live-in relationships, taking drugs are okay to me. They should not be questioned’, is a wrong philosophy, in a by and large conservative society of India. Our forefathers aspired and put in place a liberal Constitution for India, in order to bring-in intellectual debate, individual freedom of thinking and acting according good conscience, but not for making an unruly and immoral society and unethical values that guide to loose moral conduct.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s case could be viewed in nepotism angle: nepotism and its twin-brother favouritism help the established artistes’ children, by virtue of their lineage. Lacking this advantage, the actors that come from outside, with no god-fathers or real father to influence, are subject to tremendous pressure. When Sushant Singh Rajput’s case was observed in nepotism angle by a famous channel (the liberals call noisy channel), the other channels that claim: news without noise channels, started negating the angle of nepotism. Why? Simply to antagonise.

One channel called a renowned dialogue-writer and lyricist, along with his reputed son and daughter for an interview on nepotism. The famous father said his reputation in cine field gave his son and daughter only a “break”, later the other part is their own talent. He also added unlike his son and daughter, some other famous artists’ children could not prove themselves. So, nepotism is not be all. Suppose the said lyricist’s daughter or son rings up to a famous director or producer, he/she will immediately pick up the phone. This is all because of the background of the person. That particular background the new entrant, however talented he is, lacks. These ups and downs are there in every field but more so in the cinema field. It’s better to admit candidly than to deny by the cine- personalities.

Coming to Rhea Chakraborty, she was in relationship with Sushant Singh for a year and half or so. Almost as close as a wife, going to foreign jaunts, using his credit card etc freely. That lady has no remorse on his death; she did not seem to have come to see his dead body. What a kind of lady! Is this all the liberals in India call: love?  So, one can deduce from the liberal lexicon that love has no emotional bearing.

For instance, when a wife commits suicide, the immediate suspect would be her husband, even if he is not in proximity also, as is alleged on Shashi Tharoor in Sunanda Pushkar suicide. If that is so, why can’t Rhea be suspected, when courts justify relationships to be as good as or nearly to marriages? Some learned people on TV channels, unreasonably argue that she was not at Sushant’s residence while he committed suicide, so she is not guilty of abetment to suicide. Where is the logic? Was Osama Bin Laden or Afzal Guru were there on sites of 9/11 disaster and parliament?

Sushant sister should have taken care of him, being at his residence, in giving him psychiatric medicines and she is guiltier than Rhea, is another absurd argument. In any case, a sister would not be as intimate physically, as a girl friend is, to a man.  Arguably, Rhea is a worldly person, just used Sushant and left him in lurch, when he needed her badly, in his depressed state. Her pictures with Mahesh Bhatt, if not morphed, are revolting to any civilized person to see. Never ever, a father touches her grown-up daughter so closely in the real world. To top it all (all these ills), the narcotic angle of Rhea and her brother Showik. Both are arrested now by narcotic bureau thankfully. The TV/ Bollywood liberals, normalising narcotics, as something every actor is in position of, is bizarre. What message are they sending to the outside society? Kangana Ranaut took head-on, on this malice of narcotics, nepotism in Bollywood from within as an insider.

Above all, Rheas father’s statement on his son’s arrest: Congratulations India- is tasteless. He, in the eyes of common people, is the father of two spoilt brats. How could a father tolerate a girl to have an unmarried relationship and flirting with someone’s credit cards (on whom she has no concern)? The liberal media is happy that they (both sister and brother) will come out from jail with no charges on them. Technically even if they escape charges, in the Indian civilization ethos, they are guilty. Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide exposes the bigger malaise that lies in the Bollywood. And the youth of India should realise that the actors are not be idolized.

What INDIA can learn from 2020 US Presidential Election

0

In US, 2020 will be a major year politically. The much awaited presidential elections are going to take place on the 3rd of November. Democratic candidate Joe Biden is going head to head against the Republic candidate Donald Trump, also the current President of US. Not just COVID-19 (which failed to take any sheen off the elections) but something else rocked US this year and led to wide-spread protests through-out the country. The BLACK LIVES MATTER movement. These were started when George Floyd (Minnesota) died from asphyxiation when he was pinned to the ground by a white Policeman. Daniel Prude (New York), Dean Kay (Washington DC), Jacob Blake shooting (Wisconsin) were some more cases which came up and further ignited the cause. These protests started around Mid-May and peaked towards Mid-July resulting in over 15 deaths, 14000+ arrests and properties damaged worth $500 Million in Minnesota alone.

It is a well established fact that President Trump presents his racial views time to time. But the point of relevance here is if what happened against the black people in US in 2020 was really his doing? Doesn’t seem like it. Because any such incident would happen to have a negative impact on only one party. Republican Party. Trump’s Party. Whatever he might be, he is not a fool to make happen things which would be definitely going to affect his chances in the upcoming elections. Now which party happens to gain most from these racial killings and the subsequent movement? – Democratic Party. Biden’s Party. The states where the 4 major racial incidents took place which were the major cause of escalation of the movement are primarily Democratic controlled states. Based upon the above two fact-based
statements, you are free to form your own opinion.

If US is world’s 2nd largest democracy, India is world’s largest democracy. Unlike US, there is still time for India’s general elections(2024). While Trump is referred to as a racist, Modi is referred to as a fascist from a small portion of the Indian population calling themselves as leftists/liberals. This is because they feel Modi is a Muslim-hating politician whose policies are supposed to be against Muslims. The last two major riots in India where Muslim lives were lost along with Hindus were in Muzaffarnagar (2013) & Delhi (2020). Both Muzaffarnagar in 2013 and Delhi in 2020 are Non-BJP ruled states but the fingers are always pointed at Modi and BJP after any such incident. If any sort of anti-Muslim riot will take place in the near future, which parties will be benefited most from it? Not BJP for sure. Will a party try to affect its popular support negatively by being a part of such riots? Any sane analytical mind will say NO. So, beware Indian public. These sort of incidents will be on a rise while we go forward to 2024. Hope you will be wise then, to see through and distinguish between propaganda and Reality and to vote for the right party which will ensure proper governance of the country.
