A voice of Republic vs The State Police

0

Even before the concept of ‘welfare state’ became mainstream among the modern nations, the ideas of preservation of life and liberty of an individual were not unknown to society. Now that we have leaped out of laissez faire, the sustenance of humanity clings on the thread of protection woven around it by the words of law, which the administrative machinery is duty bound to make functional. For this tedious task, administrative discretionary powers have been bestowed upon the executors of the functions of state. The faith of people in the system is the very fuel that keeps the system functional. The thread that binds the system together must not be used to strangulate the freedom of people or to suppress the voice of the Republic.

While discharging its well-defined duties, an executor, say police, is expected to observe not just the law and procedure, but also a strict code of conduct. It has been repeatedly said that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and therefore, the system of checks and balances was incorporated in the Constitution of India to prevent misuse of such powers.

One may recall the infamous ‘Gag Order’ passed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Maharashtra for banning criticism of the Government of Maharashtra. The intent of the Mahavikas Aghadi was clear, it wanted not to serve, but to rule. How can you, a mere citizen, criticise the greatest Chief Minister? No sir, not in Maharashtra.

However, the underconfident Chief Minister and his cabinet found a challenge in the loud-mouthed and self-styled Journalist Arnab Goswami. The flamboyant voice naturally led to a crack or two in the thin ice on which the throne of the Sultan was precariously perched.

HANSA Research Group, in a writ petition before the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay, has deposed that the Mumbai Police is pressurising them to give a statement incriminating Arnab’s News Channel, Republic TV. Also, an intimidating letter was issued by the Assistant Secretary of Legislative Assembly, barring Republic TV from approaching the Supreme Court of India against the short notice issued by Assembly. Has this ever happened in independent India where legislators attempted to obstruct a private person from moving the court? This emerges as a blatant attack on a citizen’s right to seek judicial intervention granted to him by the Constitution itself and that too by an organ of the state.

Every person, even with the most frivolous of claims, is entitled to approach the court.”

We have been witness to many a self-centred leaders who think that power is their heirloom, but very rarely has a person has been stopped from resorting to legal recourse.

Now, one should think why is the government of Maharashtra resorting to such extra-judicial actions that clearly exhibit over reach of power? If we are to connect the dots, few days ago Shri Narain Rane, ex-Chief Minister of State, had alleged that a minister of the incumbent Maharashtra Government is involved in the death of one Sushant Singh Rajput. Save Republic, no other news channel reported, let alone discussed, this rather serious claim and Arnab was getting louder ad infinitum to make sure this development reached the masses.

The Commissioner Parambir Singh was called out by Member of Parliament Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and yet again it was Arnab who not just reported it, but played it in a loop for the world to see. An interview with Thakur brought to light various illegalities of the investigation conducted by Mumbai Police. Arnab targeted issues that most media houses were readily brushing under the carpet, be it Palghar lynching or the Hathras Controversy. It is also interesting to note that the fire by the Police increased almost immediately after Republic TV did a sting operation on Congress aide who spoke of initiating large scale riots in Hathras as Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra conducted photo ops while meeting the victim’s family.

In response to the masks falling off, Maharashtra Government constituted a 40 member team (reported by Times of India) to, perhaps, silence Arnab Goswami. They suddenly unearthed a closed matter of abetment of suicide. The position of law in closure is that the investigation officer has to file the Final Report with a prayer of closure. YES A PRAYER.

The aggrieved party is entitled to get a notice of the report and to be heard before the magistrate decides the prayer of closure. In the present matter, the magistrate had failed to give notice of the same to the aggrieved party and the matter was closed in 2019.

“A court has the jurisdiction to decide wrongly”

That is to say, even if the court failed to give notice to the aggrieved person, the order is final unless quashed or reversed by a superior court. The order of closure in the present matter has not been quashed or reversed by any court. The Alibaug Police, under the garb of section 173(8) of the Criminal Procedure Code, is trying to reopen the case. The said section empowers the court to submit additional chargesheet in an already open case. The action of the Alibaug Police is extrajudicial and, therefore, amounts to subverting the jurisdiction of the court.

It appears nowadays that the petition of Corpus Cum Causa has lost its seriousness in the eyes of the presiding officers of court. No doubt such petition is not maintainable against the judicial order of remand, but that does not preclude a Constitutional Bench from examining the content of the said judicial order of remand. The Court’s favouritism towards the state, and the trivialisation of human liberty becomes apparent when the sitting judge goes into rules of practice to know about the nature of closure (‘A’ Closure, ‘B’ Closure and ‘C’ Closure), but refuse to acknowledge the well settled principles of law which details the scope of judicial interference, that a Constitutional Court must be awake where the life and liberty of a person is being compromised at the hands of the State.

The bottom-line is that the acceptance of a closure report by the magistrate accrues a right in favour of the Accused and such right maybe read into the fundamental rights under Article 21. Any arrest in contravention of such right is illegal, extrajudicial, condemnable and unsustainable in the eyes of law. Such arrest, without an attempt to establish corpus delicti before a competent court for reopening the case, is illegal ab initio. The manner of arrest, that is to say, depriving him of a medical check, restraining him from wearing his shoes, manhandling him, storming his place of residence armed to the teeth, intimidating and using force against the family are all a show of strength.

How many times did the Hon’ble Judges bring up ‘vacations’ in their interaction with the counsels? That shows where thier heart lies.

If only natural justice was a real thing.

Underground secrets of Taj Mahal

One of the Seven Wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal of India is a well-known tourist attraction across the globe. People from all over the world, even nation heads visit this place to see and admire its beauty.

But, I am not going to talk about its beauty or the shine of white marble used in it. Thousands of people have ended their ink in doing this, so I will neither waste my time nor ink in doing this one more time. Here I will talk about the secret underground place of the Taj Mahal. But, first I must tell you some things about the ruler who built this monument.

His name was Shah Jahan, who was a Mughal ruler. The Mughal were one of the most cruel invaders and rulers, who belonged to the world’s most ever cruel invaders, Chengiz Khan and Timur. The Mughals killed tens of millions of people, raped millions and millions of women and girls. The Mughals also did the same with the Hindu population of the Indian subcontinent (India, called Bharat in ancient times comprised the whole subcontinent and was one country).

And one of the rulers of this descendant built this monument for his 4th wife out of 7, named Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to her 14th children. What a love story! But, I think that I am going out of the topic, so I shall start the topic.

This monument is built in Agra, in the Uttar Pradesh state of India, situated near the capital of India, Delhi.

What is hidden under the Taj Mahal

While walking through the campus of Taj Mahal, you will see an iron door-like thing, in which many people throw coins. But why? Actually, many people point out that the Taj Mahal is built over a temple, which was a part of larger Hindu structure, in underground of the Taj Mahal.

To see if it is true, have a look on this.

You can see that the place is not just hollow; there is another wooden door inside this iron door, which may go downwards. This is not the only way, instead there is another such entrance inside the Taj Mahal which has been closed by the authorities. Look the next picture.

As you can see that the authorities has banned even photography here, and also instructs not to stop at this place. But, why do the authorities not want anyone to go inside, or see what is in the underground?

Some says that the authorities did not want anyone to go because of the fear of destroying things of historical importance. But, others say that the authorities did not want anyone to know the truth of this monument, the true history, because they have the fear that it can damage the so-called secular status of the country. Look at the next picture of the taj mahal.

As you can notice in the picture that the monument is made of white marble. But if you will rotate your head around this monument, you will not be able to see white marble. The above monument is a tomb of the queen Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan. But, what is strange is that the whole campus and other structures are made of red sandstone. Even the base on which Taj Mahal stands is made of red sandstone, which you can see in the next picture.

You can clearly see in the figure that the base and other structures in the Taj Mahal complex are made of red sandstone. But, there is a strange thing that the top of these structures are made of white marble. Look at the next picture.

You can clearly see that all the other structures around the Taj Mahal are made of red sandstone, but their domes are made up of white marble, which is possible only if these domes would have been built later.

It is clear that these red sandstone structures were made prior to Taj Mahal, and when Taj Mahal was built, Shah Jahan must have added these white marble domes over them. Even the base must have been made prior to the Taj Mahal, as if the whole structure had been made at once by Shah Jahan, he should have also made the base of white marble.

But, as we know, that’s not the case. Even the floor of the whole Taj Mahal complex is made of red sandstone, which you can see in the next picture.

This is so strange. If the whole complex was built by Shah Jahan, why does the base and flooring is not made of white marble? Why just the domes of other red sandstone structures are made of white marble? This does not make any sense.

Now, someone will argue that since building this structure nearly emptied the treasure of Shah Jahan, which is why he has used red sandstone at most of the places, and built only the main structure with the white marble. This is totally nonsense. It is obvious that anyone will first make the base and then build the structure, and if Shah Jahan decided to make the structure of white marble, the base must contain white marble, because he would have no idea that his treasure would be emptied in building this. But, this is not the only strange thing. There is something more on the backside of Taj Mahal. Have a look on the next picture.

This is very strange. There is a door in the back of Taj Mahal at the base. The picture is more clear in the next picture.

This picture was taken in the british period. This door is much older than the Taj Mahal. How do I know this?

Because, in 1974, an American architect named Marvin H. Mills saw this [readers can follow the links given:- (https://www.nytimes.com/1992/01/09/opinion/l-separating-the-taj-mahal-from-legend-894592.html.) (https://www.stephen-knapp.com/an_architect_looks_at_the_taj_mahal_legend.htm)]. He took a clear picture of this, as you can see in the next image; he was unable to go inside because it had wooden doors which were locked.

He took a small piece of wood for radio-carbon-dating, and the carbon-dating reported that the piece of wood predates Taj Mahal by at least 250 years. Immediately this news hit the newspapers, authorities sealed off the door with bricks and concrete, which you can see in the next picture.

This clearly proves that there is something in the underground of Taj Mahal.

But authorities, historians and archaeologists try to give a different answer. Some of them say that the tomb kept in the Taj Mahal is not the actual one of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Actually, their original tombs are kept in the basement of Taj Mahal. And, these entrances are locked air-tight, so that air or rainwater cannot enter the basement, so as to prevent the tombs from pollution or any type of contamination, as they are of historical importance. But, there is a serious flaw in this argument. Look at the next picture.

Look at these holes.

These are made as ventilators on the floor of the Taj Mahal monument. There are many such ventilation holes around the monument, which easily allow both the air and rainwater to pass through to the basement. So, this argument is a flaw.

Now, whatever logical points, facts and evidences I have provided above clearly points out that the base of the Taj Mahal and the structures beneath it including the other structures around the Taj Mahal were built much before than the Taj Mahal. If even it is not enough, then I will show you a historical evidence from the biography of Shah Jahan, ‘badshahnama’ [readers can follow the links given (https://tajmahalrealhistory.wordpress.com/2009/07/31/the-badshahnama/) (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/reclaiming-india/the-taj-badshahnama-is-this-the-smoking-gun/), Have a look on the next pictures which shows the English and original Persian translation of the text.

The biography of Shah Jahan itself says that there was a ‘Manzil’, i.e. monument or structure here which belonged to a Hindu, named Raja (King) Jai Singh, the grandson of Raja (King) Man Singh, who was the army general of Shah Jahan’s grandfather, Akbar.

It is also notable in the next picture that the whole area around the Taj Mahal is empty.

Therefore, he didn’t bother to build a new base on the side of a river, as this would cost very much and even take much time, which is why he took the already existing structure from a Hindu. And also this states that the structure was extremely precious to Raja (King) Jai Singh.

The above text also means that Raja (King) Jai Singh unwillingly gave this structure to Shah Jahan. We can understand the reason behind this, as the king, and his ancestors had given their words to Mughals for political and defence cooperation, and in the Sanatan (Hindu) culture, it is a tradition that you should better die than to break your words.

Now, I am not going to say anything more. Anyone who is reading this; I advise him/her to use his his/her conscience and think carefully.

Please think on whatever you have read and try to figure out that, whatever the historians and archaeologists have told us about our history and our ancestors, is that true?

Thank you to all who have read this. And, once again a lot of thanks to Praveen Mohan

Examining the new India doctrine

0

In a move towards recalibrating India’s defense and strategic policy, National Security Advisor (NSA) Mr. Ajit Doval firmly stated that India will fight not only within its own territory but also on foreign soil where the root of a security threat lies. This statement has strong implications for the strategy India will incorporate towards the tumultuous geopolitical landscape of the Indo-Pacific Region.

The Makings of a New Doctrine?

Addressing the Parmarth Niketan ashram in Rishikesh, Mr. Doval emphasized that while India has never attacked anyone first, a new strategic thought will allow for a more proactive approach in effectively tackling security threats in the region. “You said we have never attacked anyone and there are many views about it. If there is a threat to the country, then we should have attacked as it is important to save the country,” the NSA had said. Moreover, he added that “We will fight where you want us to fight, that is also not mandatory. We fight where we feel the threat is coming. We have never done it for selfish reasons. We will fight a war on our land and others’ land too but not our selfish reasons but for the highest good of others.”

The NSA’s comments seem to largely reflect on the government’s intent of pre-empting to address and nip security threats. However, government officials later clarified that the NSA was speaking purely in a civilizational and spiritual context and was not referring to any specific country or situation. Furthermore, the officials said any attempt to twist the NSA’s statement was uncalled for.

However, looking beyond the justifications given, the reality of things is that these remarks come amid the standoff between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. It is also seen that India has significantly toughened its stance against China and Pakistan by not only bolstering its military capabilities but also forging closer strategic relations with like-minded partners. Moreover, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat also highlighted that India will have to become more powerful than China to counter its challenge. He also called for the strengthening of ties with neighbouring states.

The Consecutive Tests

Over the last one and half months, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has conducted at least 12 tests of missiles or systems for missiles belonging to a wide array of ranges and purposes. Interestingly, more tests are said to be in the pipeline. These tests can be considered as a relatively strong approach towards the security threats India is facing particularly from China. Going back to the main argument, it can be said that these missile tests align with the making of a new doctrine for a rising and more powerful India.

The DRDO has been carrying out at least test for every three days since early September. Senior DRDO scientists have said that this is arguably one of the highest numbers of tests in such a short span. A large spectrum of missiles of different purposes, types, ranges are currently in the works of being developed primarily for the armed forces. Some of the systems are at their varied stages of development where they undergo development trials, validation trials, and user trials. Some others have been said to be already inducted and undergoing upgrades or are even tested for different parameters. Missiles ranging from the nuclear-capable Shaurya to the air-launched anti-radiation missile Rudram, and the tactical missiles like the yet to be named laser-guided anti-tank guided missile.

Forging Closer Strategic Partnerships

India has also been seen to forge closer strategic partnerships through the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad). On October 6, the Australian and Japanese foreign ministers, the Indian external affairs minister, and the U.S. secretary of state met in Tokyo for the second ministerial of the Quad. In their readouts as well as their opening statements, each Quad member outlined its vision of the type of Indo-Pacific it would like to see. Moreover, while most of the countries did not explicitly mention China, there were several implicit references to it.

In addition, India has also finally invited Australia to re-join the trilateral Malabar maritime exercise that includes India, Japan and the US which set to take place later next month. According to a statement made by the Ministry of Defence, “As India seeks to increase cooperation with other countries in the maritime security domain and in the light of increased defence cooperation with Australia, Malabar 2020 will see the participation of the Australian Navy.” This decision will significantly enhance India’s security strategy for the Indian Ocean region amid China’s growing strategic footprints.

On top of all these developments, India and the U.S. are also going to have a 2+2 ministerial dialogue scheduled in New Delhi. This meeting between the foreign and defense ministers of the two states will have a significant impact on regional security. Ahead of the meeting, the U.S. State Department said America welcomes India’s emergence as a leading global power. The State Department said that “The United States welcomes India’s emergence as a leading regional and global power. The United States looks forward to collaborating closely with India during its upcoming term on the UN Security Council.”

Conclusion

The firm statement provided by NSA Ajit Doval on the making of a New India doctrine comes at an important time when India is facing security threats in the region. Moreover, these statements well coincide with the developments taking place in India most especially through the bolstering of its defense capabilities coupled with the forging of stronger strategic partnerships with like-minded states. These developments will have strong implications for the future of India’s great power ambitions and the overall security architecture of the Indo-Pacific region.

Bullock can pull rural economy

Abstract

India is the highest milk producing country and dairying is a major source of livelihood for farmers. The female cattle are the source of milk and male for the draught power. The mechanisation of agriculture has rendered the male beasts of no practical use. In the present article, an attempt has been made to signify the importance of muscle power of draught animals. The importance of dung and biogas are also presented briefly.

Introduction

India is the highest producer of milk in the world and contributes 20% of world production. In India, milk production has been increasing at an average annual growth rate of 4.5%. The total milk production in 2017-18 was 176 million tons [1]. Dairying is a vital source of income for rural people, particularly at the times of agrarian distress. Therefore, governments put great effort to increase the production of milk. The female cattle are the source of milk and male for the draught power. Till the advent of the green revolution in India, bullocks were an indispensable component of the rural economy and society.

Population of cattle and buffaloes

Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying had released the 20th Livestock Census in Oct. 2019 [2]. The survey reported an increase in livestock population from 512.06 million in 2012 to 536 million in 2019, nearly 4.6% increase. It also registered an 18% increase in the female cattle population from 122.98 million in 2012 to 145.12 million in 2019. On the other hand, the number of male cattle dropped from 67.92 million in 2012 to 47.4 million in 2019. A drop in male to female cattle ratio from 1:1.8 in 2012 to 1:3 in 2019.

At present, the country has a total of 109.85 million buffaloes, nearly 1% more as compared to 108.70 million in the 2012 census [2]. During this period the population of female buffaloes increased by 8.61%, whereas male buffaloes population declined by 42.35%.

Decreasing population of draught animals

The gradual introduction of mechanisation of agriculture, such as tractors, tillers, electric/ diesel pumps, etc. has rendered the male beasts of no practical use. The efforts to protect the cow makes the bullock even more of a liability. The productive female bovines are valuable, but the males are nearly worthless. The reducing population of male cattle and buffaloes indicates that millions of male animals have been culled and slaughtered for meat. There is a ban on cow slaughtering and ban on trade for slaughter, across the country. There is a complete collapse of the market for male cattle, and in turn, their commercial value. As a result, farmers abandon their cattle in droves, giving rise to a massive stray cattle-man conflict. Crop damage due to stray cattle has become common in villages. On many occasions, the farmers attack the stray beasts with sharp weapons causing injury and even death.

Muscle power of draught animals

Draught animals play a dominant role in the rural economy. Over the last few decades, bullock carts, bull ploughing machines, and Persian wheels are being replaced by trucks, tractors, and pumps respectively. It is a serious concern and is responsible for reducing the population of male cattle. On average, a draught animal produces power equivalent to 0.50 hp (= 372.85 W) [3]. A male beast can produce energy equivalent to (373 W × 7 hours × 3600 s=) 9.4 MJ, if it is employed for 7 hours a day.  Based on 20th livestock census, the total male cattle and male buffaloes in India is 47.4 million and 9.26 million, respectively. If it is assumed that 75% of the total male beast population is adult, then the total energy production using muscle power of male draught animals is (9.4 MJ × 56.66 million × 0.75 × 365 days) = 145.8 × 109 MJ per annum. Thus the available power is equivalent to 15844.26 MW. On the other hand, the investment for 1 MW solar power plant in India is more than Rs. 6 Crore [4]. Therefore, the investment required to generate equivalent electricity using solar panels is close to Rs. 95065.55 Crore. It is worth to mention that solar panels are mostly imported. India imported solar panels and modules worth $ 1,179.89 million from China in the first nine months of the financial year 2019-20 [5].

The population of draught animals in 2009 was approximately 83 million, and available energy from the adult beasts was 215.58 × 109 MJ per annum [6]. The total energy loss due to irresponsible population management of the male beast is {(215.58-145.8) × 109 MJ =} 69.78 × 109 MJ per annum. The use of bull muscle power for generating electricity is successfully attempted by several individuals and groups [7, 8, 9, 10]. A sincere effort is required to tap this cheap renewable energy source.

Engagement of the male beast

Unfortunately, we ignore the traditional resources, strength, and mostly trust in imported ideas and technologies. It is high time to focus on locally available resources, technologies, and generate employment. The effective engagement of the male beasts can save huge investments without environmental pollution and precious foreign exchange. It is high time to employ bulls in farming and other rural activities. Bullock operated slow speed traditional kolhus, cereal grinding mills etc. are recommended for crushing oilseed and cereal respectively, especially for rural areas. It is worth mentioning that these products are of high nutritional value and they can fetch a higher market price.

Dung and biogas

Cattle and buffalo dung is made up of digested grass and grain. It is a cheap and easily available bio-resource on this planet. It is high in organic materials and rich in nutrients. It contains about 3% nitrogen, 2% phosphorus, and 1% potassium (3-2-1 NPK). Dung also contains a diverse group of microorganisms that produce a range of metabolites [11]. The daily production of dung in the nation is close to 3,360×106 kg and, the annual production is around 1,226.4×106 tons. Proper collection and their use in agriculture can fulfil the requirements of fertilisers and manures to a great extent.

Additionally, dung can be used to generate biogas, a source of green energy. On average, an animal produces 12 kg of dung per day which can produce 0.48 m3 of biogas [12]. The calorific value of biogas is 22.5 MJ/m3. The anaerobic biomass digestion of dung produced by a single animal can yield biogas energy equivalent to 10.8 MJ/day. The total biogas energy produced by male cattle and buffaloes (56.66 million) dung is 223.35 × 109 MJ per annum. It is also worth mentioning that the burning of the biogas converts methane into carbon dioxide. The burning methane to carbon dioxide reduces the global warming impact nearly 9 times [13].

Sex-sorted semen project

Uttar Pradesh is piloting a sex-sorted semen project to ensure the birth of fewer male calves [14].The method has registered a 92% success in the pilot project. In my opinion, we shall develop a module to use male animals for economical activities rather than artificial means to reduce the population of male animals.

These artificial means may trigger some unknown consequences. Moreover, it is also observed by some gaushala operators that artificial breeding reduces the total number of calving in the lifetime of a cow.

Looks like MSM is about to surrender to Tom-Dick-Harish

0

Recent past activities of Mainstream Media’s (MSM) bigwigs (Editors and lead journalists/columnists) sometimes push me to assume that they are fast surrendering to Tom-Dick-Harish of Social Media(SM). I am opened to be questioned for my assumption. But, before that, I venture to discuss my point of view over the issue with examples which are there in public domains.

To start with, I wish to explain first about Tom-Dick-Harish, who are there in the title of this column. Readers can assume them as one (all three put together), one of the central characters of this column. I stumbled on these three names together for the first time in my life when I was reading a column entitled “Traditional Media should not ape digital media” in The New Indian Express on October 13, 2020 authored by Harish Bijoor, Brand Guru & Founder, Harish Bijoor Consults. (Please note that the word Harish, which is there in both author’s name and in the column’s title, are not same).

In the column, the author Harish Bijoor writes and I quote, “While digital media is a bit of an anarchy, where every Tom, Dick and Harish is a content creator and publisher; the physical medium is a carefully curetted one with a responsible Editor at the top of the food chain of news and content.” And, later, he goes on saying, “There is a certain degree of responsibility, ethos and care that physical media such as print, television and radio offer.” And he lamented, “Despite it all, physical media decides to change in terms of content, tone and decibel. Why? Why? Why?” (Here, the author considers Twitter, Facebook, Blog, App, LinkedIn, etc. as social media or digital media, and print, TV and radio as physical media or traditional media).

I do fully agree with Mr. Harish Bijoor on what he opines regarding digital media, but sorry to disagree on what he opines regarding traditional media/physical medium, which are popularly known as Mainstream Media (MSM), emphasizing with “the physical medium is a carefully curetted one with a responsible Editor”. To discuss how much they are ‘carefully curetted’ with ‘responsible editing’, I would like to refer a column titled “Who can resist the magic of Modi’s oratory?” in the same The New Indian Express on November 01, 2020 authored by the paper’s Editorial Adviser and eminent journalist Padma Bhushan, Mr. T J S George. He writes in intro, “Donald Trump damaged American democracy as much as Boris Johnson damaged the British. But the intrinsic strength of the American and British systems will make their recovery easy. Unfortunately that cannot be said about India”. Here, my rejoinder is: was not Indira Gandhi imposed draconian National Emergency to save her from judicial adverse verdict on her electoral malpractice, during which The Indian Express management under its proprietor popularly known as warrior doyen of Indian media late Ram Nath Goenka suffered, was Supreme Court’s CJI not superseded, among others? Were not they big bolt or in George’s language ‘damage’ to Indian democracy till date? Has not Indian democracy recovered fast post-Emergency?

If one read columns of Mr. George since Mr. Narendra Modi evicted well-entrenched undemocratic dynasties both in national and in several state capitals, one will find George’s attacks on Modi with blatant lies and biased opinions in almost all these columns. Has Modi done something which is worst than National Emergency, has he superseded any CJI, has he allowed 1984 anti-Sikh riot that killed more than 3000 in national capital alone, has he allowed escape of Bhopal Gas killer of more than 25,000 Warren Anderson in government helicopter, etc. etc.?  Yes, I agree Indian democracy has not recovered from undemocratic dynasty system of government that father-daughter duo (Nehru-Indira) founded in 1959. But, George was not found writing over this biggest bolt in Indian democracy. Why? This is a billion dollar question, Tom-Dick-Harish now asks to responsible editors.

In another paragraph, George writes, “Where action is needed, silence is the policy. China has been getting unusually aggressive; some areas in Ladakh have been occupied by them and some of our men taken out. Our Prime Minister does nothing.” Here, I ask to George where was he in 2013 when former foreign secretary Shyam Saran who was at the time Chairman of the National Security Advisory Board (NASB) under the National Security Council of the Manmohan Singh government, after his visit to the region had ‘informed the government that Chinese Army has occupied 640 Square KM in three Ladakh sectors’. If Modi has not taken any step after recent incursion, why Dragon has been pleading India to withdraw from strategic height it occupied post-Galwan skirmish in which India lost 20 soldiers and China is shy of disclosing its casualty number till date when western media put the figure at 35 to 43? He should not forget that war is not a child’s play. To fight war to win, long planning and preparation are required because it involved devastation which no responsible statesman jumped to just because either George kind journalist with vested interest or Tom-Dick-Harish wants.

Now, going further on the issue, I discuss, with some other examples, how other leading media houses have exhibited their responsibility as one of the most important pillar of Indian democracy or have reduced them to the level of Tom-Dick-Harish. On October 30, 2018, The Times of India had a front page banner headline “189 feared dead as plane flown by Indian crashes into Java Sea”, while The New York Times headline read “Indonesia Plane Crash Adds to Country’s Troubling Safety” and The Washington Post headline read “All 189 onboard feared dead after Indonesian plane crashes”. Ill-fated plane was American manufactured Boeing 737 Max which had manufacturing defects, and therefore, later all the planes sold so far grounded after two crashes. When Indian media reported the accident blaming Indian pilot, American media did not blame to their country’s manufacturer. After this accident, I did not find any Tom-Dick-Harish blaming to Indian pilot. Now, the reader of this column may judge who is ‘responsible editor’?

All TV news watchers must have seen belly dance of leading anchor and Managing Editor in the studio of leading news channel while reading out election result of a political party after Delhi Assembly election 2020. On June 30, 2017, there were two news for same incident. Traditional media’s The Hindustan Times reported, “Man accused of carrying beef killed by 100 strong mobs in Jharkhand” and India Today reported, “Jharkhand: Man accused of raping, killing 8-years-old lynched by mobs”. From this kind of news presentations on a very sensitive issue having tremendous implication on social harmony in a highly multi-religious society where politicians use to fish in religious divide, I don’t find any responsible editing of MSM. On June 26, 2013, Executive Editor of The Hindu, Dr. Malini Parthasarathy educated in Indian and Western secular citadels such as JNU and Columbia University tweeted ‘I don’t support child marriage but I do say that it’s not for us the majority to dictate the minorities on how to live their lives’ when she was asked by a Twittarati  with question ‘Let me ask you: Being an educated woman why do you support marriage of underage Muslim girls?’. The Hindu is a leading and respectable print media in India since its birth in colonial era. If its Executive Editor has got this understanding over a crucial issue, one can conveniently guess where our democracy’s fourth pillar is leading the nation and we citizens.

When Harish Bijoor writes in his column ‘Despite it all (means: There is a certain degree of responsibility, ethos and care that physical media such as print, television and radio offer), physical media decides to change in terms of content, tone and decibel. Why? Why? Why?’, he certainly has in mind the disgusting high decibel presentation of Arnab Goswani et la.

In view of the above narrated and quoted facts, I don’t find any difference between MSM’s responsible Editors and SM’s Tom-Dick-Harish. If there is no difference between them, why readers of print media and viewers of electronics media should not prefer Tom-Dick-Harish free of cost news and views that too during their spare and relax time? Still, there is time for MSM to introspect and correct them. It is a collective responsibility. Any further detail will make them redundant and obsolete like Bharat Motor’s Ambassador Car, which was ruling Indian roads till 1991 (pre-liberalization and globalization of Indian economy) like an big elephant, has been now.

Bollywood’s nationalism to gans”terisim”

0

In recent months we have seen Bollywood’s dark secrets the drug scandal nepotism and many but we are unable to view the biggest and the worst dark secret of Bollywood the shift from nationalism to gunda gardi or gangsterism.

Years ago we had films which used to portray nationalism but then an era came where smoking, drinking and sex were the main part of film no nation love or madness towards army. Years ago the films like Border were famous for their nationalism but then the Once Upon a time in Mumbai, D-company and other films came which influenced young minds into smoking and doing all the wrong things in the name of coolness and yet a particular lobby was silent and supporting them cause if they opposed their funding would be stopped

Today when nationalists films like Gold, Kesari, Holiday: An soldier never off duty- run on big screens people say it’s high dose of nationalism and in the mean time films like D-company which portrays the life style of terrorist earns more than a hundred cores but Kesari doesn’t. Even we are influenced by that era of Bollywood where smoking and alcohol are cool and good but joining an army isn’t

Our youth needs to understand that being a soldier being a nationalists is the biggest pride an human could ever have.

Politics of Electoral Insurance- Modi-Shah style!

0

Narendra Modi, sometime after taking over as PM, remarked that he takes Sharad Pawar as his Political Guru. This was an extremely loaded statement and it did create a small political storm. As it was explained later, that in the aftermath of the Bhuj earthquake in 2001, it was Sharad Pawar who helped Modi. Modi, a brand new Chief Minister then, desperately needed someone experienced to handle the bureaucracy in the time of crisis. And the way Modi as a Chief Minister, ran his administration for the next 12 years, it’s quite clear that he did learn a lot from the oldest serving politician. But what good is a Guru-Shishya (Master-Pupil) story in which the disciple does not outdo the Teacher? And even this story follows the same route.

Early this year when Amit Shah declared, that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to fight the Bihar election with Nitish Kumar as Chief Ministerial candidate, he was fully aware of the unique challenge NDA was facing. Actually a twin challenge. Anti-incumbency against 15-year-old Nitish Government and migrant labor crisis. Plus BJP as a party was facing another challenge. The Sharad Pawar Challenge!

Learn from the enemy!

Only a few months back, BJP was outdone by Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray, when they forged a post-poll three-way alliance with Congress and formed Government in Maharashtra. Going into Bihar elections surely this betrayal must be playing onto Modi’s mind. What must also be haunting him, is the fact that Nitish before the 2015 assembly elections had broken ties with BJP and joined hands with RJD-Congress. And then, with equal ease, he switched back to NDA within 2 years. And there was no loss of face as such. Nitish’s personal popularity was more or less intact.

So, post-elections, what if he takes another U-turn and does a Uddhav Thackeray on BJP? RJD-Congress will be more than happy to welcome him back in the fold. So how does Modi-Shah respond to this situation? By buying some Electoral Insurance! Puzzled? Let me explain.

Electoral Insurance in the form of Chirag Paswan! His party, Lok Janshkati Party (LJP) is contesting 137 seats; which is only 7 less than RJD’s 144. And it has given tickets to few prominent BJP rebels, such as Rameshwar Chourasia. With BJP and JDU contesting an almost equal number of seats it’s quite obvious that LJP will be contesting in some seats against BJP. But most of its candidates are fighting against JDU. So the obvious question is by fighting against JDU is he not hurting the NDA in Bihar? Maybe yes! But then to reiterate, in most seats, LJP candidates are pitted against JDU candidates. Now see how beautifully this works in multiple directions.

Insurance Policy with multiple benefits!

Firstly, LJP will act as a counter to resurgent RJD led by Tejaswi Yadav. Chirag Paswan, who like Tejaswi is very young and like him is from an upwardly mobile but non-upper caste household. He surely will attract some of the anti-incumbency votes, which otherwise, in absence of a BJP candidate, could have gone to RJD.

Secondly, by cutting into Nitish Kumar’s votes he will limit JDU’s seat count.

Thirdly, BJP rebels who are fighting on LJP tickets have a better chance to win with Chirag Paswan’s captive vote bank and support.

And last but not the least, by bitterly opposing Nitish, but saying that Modi is his supreme leader, Chirag Paswan has immensely bolstered Modi’s image, which is going to help BJP in the Bihar election.

LJP was founded by Chirag’s father, Ram Vilas Paswan in 2000. Since then it has been a sort of fringe player, with sporadic electoral success. But in Assembly elections held in February 2005, though with UPA at the center, in Bihar, LJP fought against Lalu Prasad’s RJD. And won it’s best ever 29 seats. No pre-poll alliance could secure a majority. And post elections, senior Paswan didn’t support any party, resulting in a hung assembly. Nitish at this juncture moved in and split LJP. 22 of LJP MLA’s defected to JDU, leaving LJP in tatters. In the assembly elections held the same year later, Nitish, with BJP by his side, secured a comfortable majority and became Chief Minister for the first time. For the last decade and a half, he has held on to that coveted chair. He also switched alliances in between to keep competition at bay.

Tribute to the dead, loving father!

As luck would have it, in 2014 Ram Vilas Paswan joined NDA and was on the same side as his bête noire, Nitish. Promptly, Nitish exited the alliance in 2015, only to come back in 2017. By the time the 2020 elections came, the voter fatigue had set it. To add to that, migrant Bihari laborers coming back on their feet because of the Corona outbreak, put enormous pressure on Government and showed the administration in poor light. This eroded Nitish’s credibility further. But intriguingly had no effect or increased Modi’s popularity. Nitish was kind of trapped in a situation, that was of his own making. If Chirag is able to win enough seats and unseat Nitish, it will be a fitting tribute to his father, who just passed away.

Now, there is always a chance, that to get out of this tricky situation, Nitish may perform another trapeze stunt and shift back to UPA.

But for that, like Maharashtra, post-poll arithmetic has to fit in; for which Nitish Kumar’s JDU had to win a certain number of seats. With the personal popularity on decline, fumbling administration, and either Chirag Paswan or Tejaswi Yadav to deal with, it looks almost impossible. In all probability, BJP will emerge as the single largest party, closely followed by RJD. Nitish, with reduced seats (compared to last elections), will be in the third spot. And LJP & Congress, fighting for the 4th spot.

This will have political and socio-cultural ramifications (A topic for a separate article). Nitish though reluctantly, will have to cede the middle ground to BJP. This will clear the ground for the rise of Hindu Cultural Nationalism in Bihar. Which in a way, till now was stopped by Nitish.

Now, to their credit, through Amit Shah, BJP has made it clear again and again that, if NDA wins, only Nitish Kumar will be the CM. Which I think ends all speculations on that. But with the reduced strength in the assembly, and ‘Big Brother’ BJP to contain with constantly, he will be merely a shadow of his earlier self.

Will end with another story from Sharad Pawar’s playbook which Modi is emulating. In 1995, in Maharashtra, before the state elections were called, Pawar had sensed that there is an anger against his Government and BJP-Sena is going to romp home. So what does he do? He makes scores of his own MLA defect to the other side. BJP-Sena wins 1995 assembly elections. Just before the next assembly elections, most of the MLA and leaders who had defected comeback either into NCP or Congress. And NCP-Congress are back in power and ruled for 15 long years.

Worst is yet to come, courtesy of Communism

Well first of all I must say that I have never written an article in English and it is certainly not my mother tongue, so yeah, I will try my best but you will have to excuse me for most of the part. Again why I chose to write in English? Well, because there’s a first time for everything. So let’s get to the point or points because there are many to discuss.

So I’m one of those people who used to spend their free time on weekends hanging out with their friends, bowling or watching movies, trying new restaurants or even in my free time at home I used to watch movies, TV series, or MMA fights all the time, never really paid attention to the news related to the social Indian politics let alone US, but the events in the last two years has changed a lot for me and I am not even talking about COVID.

I was part of a social circle that was liberal a.k.a leftist a.k.a communist (to my readers in USA if any I have one more a.k.a for you and its Democratic) and trust me I voted for the Communist Party of India (CPI) twice and so did my family for years. Now the reason behind that were the 1984 anti–Sikh riots, where the Communist Party of India (CPI) was actually able to control the damage in their state better than any other political party did in theirs. And by damage I mean save lives of Sikhs and that was the only reason for my vote for Communist Party of India (CPI), nothing else.

But that was then I am not saying that CPI is killing Sikhs now because CPI has always appeased the minorities and they will continue to do so. But now I see how this communist ideology is bad for us and almost for every nation across the world and the recent riots in India and USA are fine examples of it.

So let’s see how this Communist virus has affected India and USA in same manner.

Education System: School, Colleges and Universities

Unfortunately for India post independence in 1947, the responsibility for creating the syllabus, curriculum, books or the entire study material starting from the first standard all the way up to the universities was given to the communists.

Why? Because they were the only educated people back then, well not only but mostly.

So what was the outcome? Exactly what is happening in the US schools right now, they filled our study books with hate towards our culture and traditions. Of course every religion or culture has some flaws but it is not fair to hide one’s crime and expose the others. These communist glorified the Mughal Rulers in our history books who literally destroyed our Nation and converted people forcefully and killed who refused.

Now why did they glorify the Mughal Invaders? Because their descendants are the so-called minority in the current India. And this is just one example of many, my point being, because of the books we read as kids we grew up hating our culture, our traditions with a revolt mentality, seeing those who respect all of the mentioned above as oppressors a.k.a Nazis. An entire generation of India is destroyed because of the education we received but US you still have time, if you don’t believe me then go watch Glenn Beck’s Special “BRAINWASHED: How Black Lives Matter Hijacked Our Schools” on YouTube.

Wish someone made a video like that in India back in the 60’s but then again we didn’t even have radio back then let alone TV, and now every single college and university in India is filled with these far leftist teachers and professors and we have genuine instances where these teachers have failed students who do not agree with them.

While I understand that the degree level course of “How to become a Democrat/Liberal/Leftist/Social Activist” is offered in the American colleges and Universities, it is the primary education that should be paid attention to. As Glenn describes in his video that children are being taught to revolt against the society, the government, hate their culture and family values and become a marxist protestor in the form of a very nice and attractive games and classroom activities. The outcome of this will create many communist teenagers and what do these communist teenagers do? Well they don’t go to church that’s for sure, because “Communism is incompatible with the religious faith” said the famous Nikolai Bukharin and Evgenii Preobrazhensky on religion, in their book, The ABC of Communism.

The mainstream media

Almost every mainstream media outlet be it in India or US glorifies, absolutely glorifies these the radical leftist and their so-called peaceful protest. People of India had a taste of these peaceful protests just back in January and February of this year, when these so called peaceful protesters burned shops, homes and even people in the Nation’s capital, Delhi.

Why? Because the government decided to give asylum to those getting religiously persecuted in our neighboring countries. Countless people were murdered in these riots and none of the news channel be it AajTak or NDTV covered it; on top of it the famous VICE did a special on the mastermind of these riots and portrayed him as an aspiring student and social activist.

Can you name one, just one conservative news channel or media outlet that covers everything that they should? Or you may find a few but are they financially capable enough? Do they have the reach? Are they not getting censored every now and then on social media? Are they not getting harassed or death threats? Are they not getting physically assaulted regularly? The answer to all of these question is very obvious.

In India when it comes to the mainstream news channel there is only Republic Network and when it comes to online news portal it’s OpIndia and frankly speaking there are few more that claims to be non biased but their hypocrisy keeps getting exposed every now and then.

Be it Arnab Goswami and his entire team, I mean literally every single employee of Republic Network has at least one Police FIR against them with Arnab leading the charge with more than 200 FIRs, harassed, interrogated by the police countless times and very recently arrested illegally and even assaulted, same goes for the OpIndia Editor Nupur Sharma and CEO Rahul Roushan.

In US people are still suffering from the riots erupted after the date of George Floyd and let me tell you it has nothing to do with his death it was just a mere excuse for them to Burn, Loot and Murder.

Channels like CNN and MSNBC will also call them peaceful protestors, I mean they even showed a cars burning in the background during a live broadcast and called the riots Fiery But Mostly Peaceful.

Very few media outlets like Blaze TV, Daily Wire and Brietbart will show you the truth, but then again they are getting censored, banned, fact checked left and right. They don’t have tons of millions of dollars to run their business, or some fancy lawyers or law firms to fight back but they still risk their lives to show us the actual face of communism, kudos to Elijah Schaffer for his coverage on BLM and ANTIFA riots.

I mean I could go on and on and on but it doesn’t matter if you don’t stand up and by that I am not asking you to come out on the streets and start protesting, you sure can if you would like to but don’t stay silent anymore, speak up, raise your voice, pay attention to what is happening around, use your best judgment to weigh in on the political and social issues instead of following FAKE NEWS like sheep. Staying silent will only get you a leader like Joe Biden in US and Gandhis in India because the damage has already been done and the worst is yet to come, “only together, all of us, and even then it might not be enough but at least we’ll give the f—ers a fight” — Jon Snow.

Maha oppression: Who dare while others fly

0

Many cruel rulers and dictators used several tactics to contain resistance, by arresting, eliminating, and harassing all those who raised voice against them. History tells us– all of them failed. What we see in Maharashtra is oppression and attack of the worst kind on the free media. As though the daily summons, and countless FIRs on Republic TV were not enough, the Maha Police seems to have satisfied its thirst what they have been aiming for a long time – to put Arnab Goswami behind bars.

When the fake TRP cases against Republic were falling flat and there were no valid evidences to submit to the Courts, the Raigad Police reopened an old case that was closed two years ago. Apparently, the reopening of the case was done in secrecy to deny Arnab Goswami any legal remedy before the arrest. The arrest was done using a massive amount of force, including police armed with AK47s. No one would have believed this was to arrest an ordinary journalist who comes on the TV every day. Clearly, the motive was to humiliate Arnab Goswami and to threaten other republic staff to ‘fall in line’, else face the consequences. By the time this article is published, Arnab may be back to studios, but the Republic’s fight seems to be long one.

Intimidations make Republic even more stronger

Have all these intimidations affected the channel? Yes, from the regular news coverage point of view. For the last two weeks, the channel could hardly cover events like Bihar elections, US Presidential elections, etc., However, the news channel continues to be No. 1, both in India and abroad. In front of the TV or behind, Arnab continues to be the hero. A quick look at the number of viewers on live channel on YouTube, Republic continues to be far ahead of its competitors. With or without Arnab on the newsroom, viewers across the nation and around the world appear to be glued to this TV.

Like cats close their eyes and think the world has become dark, by suppressing news about Arnab Goswami, the Lutyens media think they can remove Republic from the public eyes. However, Arnab Goswami has become the headline all over the country. In the history of independent India, we have not seen such an outpouring support for a journalist who is neither a politician or film actor.

Opindia dares while others fly

If you tune into any of the national channels – other than Republic – you hardly see any news about the oppression going on against the Republic TV. The sold-out media and journalists who are on the payroll of corrupt politicians probably rejoicing the sufferings of Republic and Arnab Goswami. The Award Wapsi brigade, the so called ‘Liberals’, and ‘intellectuals’, self proclaimed ‘National’ newspapers, and almost the entire ‘mainstream’ media seems to have gone underground and are maintaining a venomous silence about the hounding of the No.1 news media network in the country. Not a single one of them raised even their little finger against the gross atrocity and abuse of power happening in the state. Opindia is probably the only news portal that stood solidly with Republic at these times of troubles. Despite open threats and intimidation on media personnel, it is very heartening to see the Opindia editor Nupur J Sharma participating in Republic TV debates and supporting the voice of the nation. The nation will be grateful to Opindia for its courage to stand against the tyranny, despite open threats and intimidations.

Why Arnab and Republic TV should continue its style of journalism

Arnab and Republic TV cover the news and topics that are deliberately suppressed by the Lutyens media. The mainstream media mafia were full of far left urban Naxals, and often they supported anti-national forces. Republic TV was the only national channel to discuss the topics like Palghar mob lynching, conspiracy behind CAA protests, justice for Sushant Singh Rajput, Hathras conspiracy, etc. Republic TV is the only channel that has ex-Army personnel presenting patriotic defence whenever there is attack on the nation. Look who are all opposing Arnab’s style of journalism – Lutyens media and the corrupt politicians, who are the people Republic is fighting. Republic has earned its massive support because of its Nationalistic approach and forthrightness in exposing anti-nationals. Therefore, Republic should continue its style of journalism and ignore the comments of the losers.

New India needs more nationalists as journalists

Gandhi and Nelson Mandela suffered at the hands of ruthless rulers, but they became world’s most respected leaders in the end. We see the living example in Narendra Modi, who was subjected to decade long vilification campaign but reached the position as our Prime Minister. Amit Shah was kept in jail in false and fabricated cases, and now he is our home minister. By subjecting Arnab to relentless torture and harassment, the evil forces of Maharashtra are making him even stronger. They wanted to finish Republic, and we see people poring on streets in support of the TV and its chief editor Arnab Goswami. This is new India. The new India needs honest and courageous journalism like the one practiced by Republic and Opindia.

The current crisis faced by the Republic clearly shows we need more and more independent media channels and portals that represents the voice of the nation. Currently, mainstream media is dominated by leftist, corrupt journalists. This needs to change urgently. We need to create more journalists like Arnab to defeat the evil forces in the media that are out to destroy the country.
