Elections are happening again in 2023, the key candidates are again money and power which are bound to win but where are we headed as a student community is a question.

अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद् (अभाविप) ने आपातकाल के दौरान एक महत्त्वपूर्ण संघर्ष किया। आपातकाल भारतीय इतिहास की एक अंधेरी घटना थी, जिसके दौरान न्यायप्रियता, मुक्त विचार और लोकतंत्र की प्रणाली को धीरे-धीरे नष्ट किया गया।

क्या एक सभ्य लोकतंत्र को चलाने हेतु आवश्यक नागरिकों की नस्ल को पैदा करने और प्रशिक्षित करने के उद्देश्य में इस तरह के विरोध प्रदर्शन किसी तरह से उपयोगी हो पाएँगे? या ये अराजकता और तानाशाही को जन्म देंगे?

छात्र तो मोहरा भर हैं असली राजनीति तो वे समझ ही नहीं पा रहे। शायद इसीलिए 27 फरवरी को रामजस कालेज के प्रिंसिपल राजेन्द्र प्रसाद छात्रों के बीच खुद पर्चे बाँट रहे थे जिसमें उन्होंने साफ तौर पर लिखा कि देशभक्ति की हवा तले शिक्षा को खत्म न होने दें।

राजनीतिक दलों की लिखी हुयी स्क्रिप्ट पर काम करते हुए पहले तो गुरमेहर कौर ने इस सारे मामले को अभिव्यक्ति की आज़ादी से जोड़ते हुए जे एन यू के छात्रों का समर्थन कर दिया और घोषणा कर डाली कि-" मेरे पिता कि मृत्यु के लिए पाकिस्तान नहीं, युद्ध जिम्मेदार है."

Over the past few days, some people want Azadi, some raise slogans, some fight for Najeeb some for Rohith but not one fights for the state of education. Not one says that education should not suffer.

There are only a few organizations like ABVP (Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad) who has the history of fighting against the evils in the education system.

With this JNU controversy, we should not forget the role of 600 odd teachers, faculty as they are called, of JNU
