COVID-19 brings opportunities for India

Modi leveraged India’s stature as the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer to forge international ties and consultations which not only envisioned provision of vaccine for India but also a major role for Indian companies in delivering vaccine to the world.

This article seeks to look at circumstantial evidence, urges the world leaders to place the onus of full and impartial investigation on China, and more importantly details the steps that should be taken to protect their citizenry while the investigation is on and the clouds of suspicion hover on.

India must maintain its obdurate stance against China. This should, so far as ideals go, set a precedent for future governments.

The only country that stands a good chance against China is India, and China knows it too well to ignore it. That’s why during the UPA rule, China practically bribed the Gandhis to get India to join the RCEP negotiations and also tried to sign a free trade agreement (FTA) with China.

It is time we start looking into managing the pandemic in an all-embracing approach. Merely reducing the numbers should not be the criteria defining success of COVID-19 interventions. How long can the numbers be curbed?
