Return of Shri Ram at Ayodhya has lead to the rejoice and festivities, however, it is also a time for introspection. It is a time to ask ourselves that how a few hundred brigands have defeated the capital of that king whose name outshines even Lord Ram?

generation or two, Bharatiyas have resisted, sacrificed and survived one invasion after another. The reclaiming of this ancient site and building a grand temple is a civilization accepting the challenge of the competing invasive cultures and declaring in one voice that we are here to stay.

The Ram mandir movement is civilizationally important as it brought in not only the mainstream Hindu voices but also many subaltern voices that did not have a voice in the broader national discourse. It is after a long time that people stood up for something casting aside their caste and even religious divisions.

Ram Mandir is an issue which has surrounded a billion strong nation from 30-years and has led to multiple Hindu-Muslim riots leaving hundreds of people dead of both religions and is why still not a Hindu-Muslim issue?

अगर मक्का या वेटिकन सिटी जैसे किसी विशेष विश्वास की जगह पर उनके पूजा स्थल को तोड़कर किसी अन्य धर्म का पूजा स्थल बनाया होता तो क्या ऐसा संभव था? अगर एक बार ऐसा मान भी ले तो समाधान की क्या संभावनाए होगी?

We should remember that the destruction of Ram Mandir was more than just material damage to a property. It was destruction of cultural heritage and a symbol of subjugation.

The government can build the Ram Mandir wherever it wants and whenever it wants and that too within the legal and constitutional framework of the country.

A humble request with enough reasons why making Ayodhya a national capital would resolve this lingering issue.
