The secret space race- Why India’s timing of the ASAT tests were of utmost importance

0

On 27th March 2019, India test fired its indigenously developed anti-satellite (ASAT) missiles successfully by destroying a low orbiting satellite, thus entering an elite group of countries who possess the ability to destroy satellites that are deployed in space. While in India, most of the immediate reactions had a distinct political tone and revolved around the timing of the tests: Why did the government choose to test the ASAT missile now, with elections right around the corner? Was it merely fireworks to kickstart the election season? Why was it important for the Prime Minister of India to address the nation?

The answers to the questions lie outside India, in events that were unfolding over the past weekend in Geneva, Switzerland. Beginning on 18th March, a week long closed door meeting was hosted by the United Nations between diplomats and experts from 25 nations, aimed at bringing into force an international space non-proliferation law that given the sensitive nature of space, would potentially outlaw countries from building their own anti-satellite technology, much along the lines of the nuclear non-proliferation treaties (NPT) that was signed first in 1968. This law would essentially mean that India could not test its ASAT missiles on its own, and instead would have to go through a process similar to Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) which exists for acquiring nuclear technology. Only the United States of America, Russia, China and perhaps few other countries would be allowed to possess these missiles and the transfer the technology to other countries would involve complex international laws intended to prevent proliferation of the technology.

During the meeting held in Geneva, the Space’s Big 3 – USA, Russia and China – countries which already possess ASAT technology were at logger heads with the European Union over the usage of this new age technology, with much of the debates ranging around the space debris left behind after the destruction of satellites, and how the debris would interfere with other objects in space. The European Union representatives had maintained that the tests conducted by the Space’s Big 3 already resulted in significant debris, and none of the Big 3 showed interest in resolving the space debris problem. Instead they were merely interested in testing their missiles further.

The United States under the Trump administration has made no secret of its ambition to develop advanced space weapons. Apart from possessing ASAT missiles, the Pentagon is reportedly studying particle beam and laser gun based space weapons. Trump has publicly declared space to be a “war-fighting domain” and has called for creating a military branch devoted to space. Beijing for its part has blamed USA for fostering a space race and create a competition to develop advanced weapons, while maintaining that China does not consider space as a frontier for war.

It is in this context that India’s successful ASAT test, which was timed to perfection and right on the last day of the UN hosted meeting in Geneva, assumes much greater importance than what is being assigned to it. By deploying ASAT missiles, India announced its arrival in the space race with a bang right at the time when the existing powers were looking to close the door. From not being in the picture at all, with one swift move India became part of the select few nations who possessed this technology. The Big – 4, as it stands now.

By acquiring indigenously developed technology before the space NPT treaty comes into effect, India has established itself as a key player in the space arms race. Any space NPT treaty cannot be signed without making India a key party to the discussion. This marks a strategic shift in India’s role in space technology, unlike the Nuclear NPT treaty where India was excluded from the elite nuclear group after 1974, and was denied access to nuclear technology by the western world in an effort to coerce India to sign the nuclear NPT treaty. Even today, as a non signatory to the nuclear NPT, India has to negotiate and sign agreements with individual countries to import and build nuclear reactors for its domestic power requirements.

In contrast, by showcasing its prowess in space technology, India has established its ambition to be a key player in this emerging race. Post India’s ASAT test, both Russia and USA have more or less appreciated India’s entry, even suggesting India can work with the other 3 countries towards achieving similar goals. Considering the implications of the fast changing global space race, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement that “India stands tall as a space power” marked India’s official entry into the latest technology race among big industrial nations, the fruits of which will be tasted by India in the decades to come.

Story of Aditya: From meme creator to NYAY scheme holder

0

Scene-1: The Year is 2022

Aditya is 22 year old boy who is living in Chennai. Aditya could be any 22 year old living in any major Indian city. He is walking near the major market centre and people are pushing him trying to reach the Hotel which is making Pakodas. Actually it’s not Hotel but just some  small eatery which makes tasty Pakodas. Today it’s 1st April so the Pakoda seller is selling Pakoda for Rs 150/- per plate but normally its Rs 300/- per plate, Aditya keeps thinking “Are these Pakoda sellers trying to pull off an April fool joke why are Pakoda sellers offering discounts today. These Pakoda sellers how I used to make Memes about them” Aditya kept thinking. Ever since he woke up this morning at night today Aditya mind has been going back to those years of 2017 and 2018.

Aditya thinks on one hand he gets WhatsApp message from his old group about how World famous economist R3 is talking in Chicago how beautiful India is after NYAY scheme is implemented and another economist G2 is talking in London about how India has ensured economic equality. G2 is also praising our PM Rahul for bold steps he took after he became PM in 2019 and she says Rahul cares for the poor much like his family members who have ruled India before him. Aditya is however confused “Why is plate of Pakoda costing Rs 300/- now and why is 1GB of internet costing Rs 50/- at night and Rs 100/- during the day now but it was so cheap during 2017-18. Also in summer we are getting power cuts can’t sleep if there is no fan or AC and yet the electricity bill is so high”.

Scene-2: The Year is 2018

Aditya has finished 12th standard and joined Bachelor course in management this year. Amma wanted him to join medicine or engineering so that she could brag about it within family and friends but he didn’t not get any seat from good college and Appa didn’t have money for management quota. So they decided that let Aditya do BBM and then do MBA hopefully but Aditya was not really interested in all these things. He had decided what he wanted to become.

He wanted to become a Standup Comedian. For now he has started his own meme page on Facebook and Instagram and also he had many followers on twitter (never mind if most of them were bots ). “Dai Adi after this Jio internet has come with these free offers all day long you are watching some comedians on YouTube and wasting your time what good can come out of this”, Appa asks Aditya. Aditya replies “Appa you are so old fashioned don’t you know these people they are from AIB, EIC etc one day I will also have my own shows”. “Kanna Adi learn some real skills so that you can earn living. All these things are just for time pass”. Adi‘s father told him.

Meanwhile Saroja our servant comes in with happy smile on her face. She informs us that her brother Shiva got loan for starting his own business and from tomorrow he will make Pakodas. Aditya can’t stop laughing. He remembers all those jokes those standup comedian have been making about Pakoda sellers and even he did few memes on the same topic. After Demonetization making jokes on pakoda sellers was the best way to attract traffic to his page. He can’t understand how his parents thought DeMo was a good move, after all it was topic for a butt of jokes for all comedians in AIB and EIC. Also, he never understood why his parents supported the PM and they kept saying you will not understand how bad things were before when there used to be scams like 2G etc. Then one day he got an email from organization called C-Analytical. They had business proposition for him. They need him to work for them on contract till May 2019 on behalf of very big client and the money offered was good. In the email he was informed that they had seen his meme page and very impressed by it so now they wanted to use that page on behalf of their client and they will also supply content. Also he needed to have more than 10-20 twitter handle’s so that they can create trends with hashtags.

Aditya accepted the offer and soon he started getting more traffic for his page. He had not told his parents about this but now things were getting serious after all he had to make memes and login to twitter with 20 different ids to manufacture Trends. His attendance in college dropped and so did his grades but who cares he thought I am on my way achieving my dream. Also, two of his favorite comedians had liked one of his memes about Aadhar card. However, one day something strange happened he made a meme on Rahul G but immediately got phone call from his contact from C-Analytical saying as per contract agreement you can’t make memes on Rahul G or anyone from his party. Aditya felt bit let down since Rahul G provided very good content for memes but thought it to be okay as he was getting paid, So why bother!

Scene- 3: April 1, 2019

Aditya had become full time meme generator. His parents were very upset that he had stopped going to college regularly but Aditya was happy since he was able to buy bike and was gifted latest i-Phone by his client. Aditya remembered that the contract was up to May 2019 and wondered after that what was he going to do next. He did bring up this topic with people from C-Analytical. They told him not to worry as they would make him the next Dhruv R. Aditya could not believe it! “That YouTube sensation Dhruv who makes videos sitting somewhere in Europe!” Then he was told, “Look we want you to highlight one very important scheme for our client called NYAY where all poor people will be given 6K per month”. Aditya whenever he went to college vaguely remembered about poverty and steps taken to overcome them but was never interested in such stuff so he thought what was so great about the idea of giving 6K per month to all poor. He was bit confused though since Rahul G’s sister Priyanka G V and Rahul kept telling different things at different times sometimes 6k sometimes 12k sometimes 72k and sometimes 72000 crores.

But Aditya thought if they could give money to poor; there will be no poor left in the country also he was thinking, now that even poor people could afford Jio Connection and they would visit his page; his page would be even more famous!

Scene-4: Year 2022

Aditya has paid for half plate of Pakodas from Saroja’s brother Shiva since he can’t afford full plate even after discount. Shiva is thinking how to run his business now. Aditya asks him about NYAY scheme. Shiva replies angrily, “That is only for the very poor as per Government I am not very poor but just poor whatever that means, that officer is demanding bribe to give income certificate for me if I need to qualify for that scheme. How can I give bribe when I am not able to make profits only. I am remembering the previous Government which had tried to do so much for people like us and yet we voted them out due to this NYAY scheme”.

Aditya wonders why shiva is not able to make profits even when the cost of Pakodas has gone up so much. He is thinking, “Should I also apply for BPL card, after that C-Analytical closed their business and went back to USA I am not getting any offers. I will somehow ask money from Appa and bribe that officer and get BPL card at least I will get some money”. Meanwhile Aditya gets another forward on WhatsApp about another economist Jean D talking about how India has achieved economic equality. He can’t download the video since his data pack will be over if he does so and he doesn’t have money to recharge.

Indian National Congress’ loathing of social media & the strategy to win 2019

0

For the entire last year, I kept thinking only one thing: What is Congress’ strategy to win 2019? I could see BJP’s plan to win the election. They have been highlighting their good governance model. I am not at all validating if what they say is true or not. My point is that they had a strategy. They say they delivered a scam free government, built millions of toilet, most roads, provided the necessary power infrastructure to the last village of India, provided gas connection, made economic reforms, promoted cleanliness so on and so forth. And of course trying to built Ram Mandir.

What is Congress’ strategy?

I was thinking they would be showcasing the work they did in Punjab or Mizoram like Modi highlighted his work in Gujarat back in 2014. But there is not even a single word about that. Even at the time when they were left with only one or two states and were in a dire need of winning elections, they didn’t do anything exemplary in those states. Even to exaggerate the work, you need to do some work, I guess they did nothing at all.

The so-called politicians like Kanahiya Kumar, Jignesh Mewani or Hardik Patel made a lot of noise on behalf of Congress, but cannot win a national election for Congress.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi have blatantly lied, mislead people, made impractical and false promises in his live interactions at different places and not once but several times. During his speech at some place he said, we will connect all the MRIs, some place he said Coca Cola was invented by a shikanji wala, Modi gives money to ten fifteen businessmen, Rafale is a scam, it costed 500 crores or 526 crores or 570 crores or 700 crores, HAL was making Engines for fighter jets. Modi gave 30,000 crores to Ambani. He waived loans worth a lakh crore of a few friends but is not waiving loans of farmers. Recently he claimed to offer 72k to poor. The list can go on and on and on and on. I already wrote about a couple of his frustrating speeches before. You could read about them here: The Magician becomes the Hat!!! or What lies beneath the Mask? or A Role Model or A Wrong Model

He recently claimed that Manmohan Sing’s government conducted three surgical strikes. I am waiting for the speech where Rahul Gandhi is going to claim that India did ASAT tests a couple of times during UPA regime.

So, when in today’s India all of their claims have been refuted, everyone and anyone can access internet and verify that these claims are false, can Congress even think of winning 2019?

Unfortunately for us, but yes, they can not only think of winning but they might actually win 2019.

How?

We overestimated the reach and impact of social media platforms and internet. Jio sold connections for free for the entire year. I was under the impression if not everybody, most of the people can access whatsapp and internet. Fake news narrative also embolden this belief. A few journalists, a few writers, a few bollywood stars, Indian National Congress, Separatists, Communists, Pakistan, everybody claimed that fake news on social media is helping BJP or rather BJP is using social media to win elections. “Whatsapp University”. Social media is such a big menace.

But how many people have access to social media in India?

As per a source, in a country of 1.3 billion plus people only 462 million people have internet access out of which only 250-300 million are active social media users. Out of this number 8% are in the age group 14-17. Plus, the number says active users and not unique users i.e. if I have two whatsapp numbers, I think there would be two active numbers but only one unique user.

In short with around 900 million voters we have less than 200 million voters who have access to social media.

How many of those 200 million will vote? I don’t know, neither do you.

Social media provides the users with a hint. A person gets a hint that there are more than one version for the same thing, there is something more to what is being said. Knowing what to look and where to look is extremely important. If I don’t know xyz exists, how would I even think of gathering more information about it.

So how are the other 700 million people getting any sort of hint. They would buy whatever is being sold to them. Not because they don’t have the ability to think but because they don’t have a reason to believe that Mr. Gandhi “GANDHI” would lie to them.

People attending Rahul Gandhi’s speeches and interactions will not verify anything, first, they don’t have access to social media and internet and second they will trust him. Mr. Gandhi along with the party knows this. Now you know why Mr. Gandhi without any worry has been giving different numbers in different speeches. He knows people don’t know what he said on other place. This exactly is the reason why Pt. Nehru, Indira Gandhi kept on winning elections term after term. There was simple no cross checking. What ever they said was the only truth. There was no other perspective.

Social media gives a different perspective to the users. They at least know that there are two sides of the same thing, they have to decide which one is true or lets say which one to believe. This exactly is the reason why Congress has been trying to demonize social media.

Anything that does not go with there narrative is called a fake news. Mainstream media made it worse. They circulated incomplete news blurring the line between a fake news and an incomplete information.

Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing forgets the clothing: BBC’s report on Fake News

In short, in the face of fake news on social media propaganda, Mr. Gandhi blatantly spread fake news in broad day light in his live speeches and interactions. Even if we assume a most simple use case where the voter turn out this year is 70% and it is uniform, there would not be more than 140 million voters who would have social media access. So much for social media hounding.

If you don’t trust me, pick up any of the Rahul Gandhi’s speech and cross check for the facts he mention.

Satire: 10 points of INC manifesto leaked

0

From past few days leading up to April 1 (Pappu Diwas) Rahul Gandhi has been tweeting his plans/ points in his manifesto that will be implemented if his party comes to power. Some of the plans are really outrageous and the Math doesn’t add up. Then I thought about people surrounding him who are popularly called Pidi Squad, I understand that the Math actually need not add up. So on this auspicious occasion of Pappu Diwas I’m releasing an important set of 10 points from the Congress manifesto which has been leaked to me by a reliable source in the famed Pidi Squad.

  1. We will contact all the industrialists who have run away from India after taking loans and ask them to return. They will be rehabilitated with a one-time loan waiver scheme where all their loans will be waived off. We will offer them fresh loans at low-interest rates so that they can start new ventures here which will help in employment generation.
  2. We will stop construction of all bridges over any river in India. We will also bring in a scheme to destroy all the bridges that have already been constructed over various rivers in India. This will ensure employment to bridge destroyers in the short term and permanent employment & assured income to boatmen in the long term.
  3. We will take away all the gas cylinders given to poor by this fascist government so that it generates employment to potters who make the humble Chulas.
  4. We will also take away power connections given to poor people under Soubhagya scheme. This scheme has destroyed the jobs of people who make Kerosene lamps. With this, we will restore those jobs.
  5. Rafale Jets cost 1600 crores each and generate employment to only 2 pilots. We will cancel this regressive deal and provide IAF with Auto-rickshaws. Since each Auto costs only 3 Lakhs, we can generate over 53000 jobs at the cost of 1 aircraft.
  6. With heightened national security many terrorists have lost their jobs. Many of them are from Kashmir and the state I’m going to represent now Kerala. To solve this problem we will reduce national security to an extent where it can create sustainable employment to our youth from Kashmir and Kerala.
  7. Jawaharlal Nehru ensured electricity should not be provided to every home in urban section so that famous scientists like APJ Abdul Kalam can emerge by studying under street lamps. This fascist government has destroyed this facility by providing 100% urban electrification. We will return this to normalcy so that great talents can emerge again.
  8. Coming to sports, IPL is a very popular league in India. But it does not believe in equitable development. Out of 8 teams, till now 3 teams have never won the tournament. Also, the number of teams are very less. We will introduce a team for every state and union territory. We will also ensure equitable development by bringing in a rule saying that the winner will be announced in alphabetical order irrespective of their performance.
  9. To ensure women’s safety, we will remove all women working in various government organizations and ask the private sector to follow suit. We will deposit their salary to their bank account so to alleviate their loss of income. Like our new ally Saudi Arabia we will also bring in law that the women should be escorted by a male family member if they have to roam outside their home.
  10. This fascist government has destroyed minorities. We will bring a law that gives citizenship rights to all Muslims who want to enter and live in India. To ensure the population is balanced we will take away the citizenship of an equal number of Hindus.

I also came to know that no one is allowed to question the Math or logic in the manifesto. If anyone from the opposition asks questions on this the Pidi Squad is asked to lie about 15 Lakhs and 2 Crore jobs which BJP never promised. The squad has also been asked to note down anyone who questions the supreme leader so that he/she can be taught a lesson when Congress returns to Power. This, I’m told, is the hidden point of the manifesto.

Disclaimer: This piece is written as satire. If any of the points mentioned in this “leaked manifesto” do get implemented (which may indeed happen) it is purely coincidental and the author solemnly promises that he will not claim “Messenger of God” status based on this article if any/all of these points are implemented if Congress comes to power

Political metamorphosis of Rahul GHANDI, sorry Rahul Gandhi

0

The great dynast of congress party is constantly adapting his political strategies like how an octopus would changes its colour and appearance in the sea either to escape either from the predator or to confuse its prey.  Initially the dynast tried to use Hindutwa affiliation of BJP to brand Narendra Modi as a communal person but finally the dynast has ended up in proving ‘me too Hindu’, carrier of Brahmin DNA and born bhakta of Lord Siva etc.

Then the dynast used cow vigilantism and mob lynching to target BJP but the investigations later revealed that most of such incidents have had no link with BJP or RSS but it was blown out of proportion by the dynast and the opposition parties for a political mileage. The dynast then tried to milk some political fortune out of the death of Rohith Vemula but again he got defeated. The JNU incident also proved that the dynast was on wrong footing to target PM Modi as people are India are constantly watching the innate stupidity and ignorance of the dynast.

Subsequently the dynast changed his track and started to blow the pipe of justice Loya’s natural death and somehow tried to link the BJP. But the case was dismissed prima facie in the court due to the abundant medical facts and undeniable evidences pointing towards the death of Justice Loya to be natural.

After many overs of no balls, wides and sixes, the dynast did nothing to change his strategy and continued with the same trick.

In true sense, the dynast has learned nothing from Indian politics. The reason being, one must have ‘reasonable intelligent Quotient’ and only then can learn something. The dynast became the president of congress party not due to his proven merit but due to his birth in Nehru – Indira Feroz Jehangir Ghandy not Gandhi family.

Then the dynast took up the internal fight of some senior judges of the supreme court of India against the then Chief Justice of India. But the entire show got flopped and the dynast could not make anything worthwhile to save his ever dying dynasty. The dynast then tried use Rafale deal to caricature PM Modi as corrupt but people of India are not fools like some congress men who always praise the dynast. The case went to the supreme court and finally supreme court of India has clearly stated that not scam or corruption or violation of principles have happened in the deal.

The honesty and incorruptible leadership character of Narendra Modi got once again proved. The dynast by way of abusing PM Modi abused entire Chowkidar community by calling them thief. Like how Manishankar Iyer may be due to his Iyer mind-set abused Narendra Modi in 2014 by calling him chaiwala and mocked the entire poor tea sellers in India.

But unfortunately the Ghandi sorry Gandhi dynast couldn’t change his political fortune by doing everything.  He was moving from one flop show to another. Then the dynast launched his sister dynast to try his better luck. But that too didn’t work much to his favour. Finally the Ghandi sorry Gandhi dynast has come up with a grant scheme called minimum wage support of 72,000/- per year to poor people.

Look at the metamorphosis of the dynast in Indian politics.  He was moving from spreading one lie, negativity and hatred to accusing and abusing the Honest Narendra Modi, selling minority appeasement and fear with the hope that he can fool and mesmerize Indian voters. But nothing has worked. Finally he has gone back to the poor people as he would have realized that poor people are gullible, can be fooled easily and can win election.

The other dynastic parties like DMK naturally have to join the congress party as both these parties have got the same cluster of genes such as dynasty, nepotism, negative politics and corruption.

If the dynast has engaged in positive politics of development and sab ka vikas, the dynast would have got better recognition today. If the dynast has apologised to the Indians for the corruptions and scams it was involved in the past and supported PM Modi for developing India, the dynast would have got better respect and recognition today.  But the dynast is so arrogant and want to make India believe and accept that it is his birth right to rule India and not of PM Modi. If the dynast has not mocked tea sellers and chowkidars, not ridiculed the poor and humble origin of Narendra Modi, if the dynast has not questioned the honesty and dedication of PM Modi, the dynast would have created better image to himself.

When Indian soldiers were attacked by the Pakistani trained terrorists in Pulwama, the dynast tried to misrepresent the incident for his political working capital. But PM Modi retaliated by making a non-military air strike in the terror camps in Balakot inside Pakistan territory and the subsequent capture and safe release of one of our wing command, instead of acknowledging the dignity of India, the Tukde Tukde gangs of the dynast praised Pakistan.

Collectively all the flop strategies of the dynast has thoroughly exposed him and as a result he has to run away from Shrimati Smriti Irani to Kerala to save his MP post. How the dynast who is not even sure of winning in his own constituency – Amethi, can save India.

When PM Modi praised our scientists for the launch of anti-satellite technology, the dynast cried it to be poll violation but the election commission has cleared it as it was well within the dignity of India’s Prime Minsiter – Modi.

Let us save India by electing Narendra Modi and ensure the agenda of development, sab ka vikas and national security and definitely not the dynastic forces.

To save Tamil Nadu, AIADMK alliance must win and not the DMK + congress.

Hope the people of Tamil Nadu will own up the responsibility to save the state by defeating DMK alliance and their hate politics.

Can BJP break the 20 seat mark in Karnataka?

0

You might be wondering why am I particular about a party breaking a 20 seat mark in a state of 28 seats. Even at the height of political waves, Karnataka has voted against the national waves. When the country was simmering with anger against Indira Gandhi, Karnataka sided with Congress. Indira Gandhi’s political career was revived when she was sent to Lok Sabha from Karnataka after she lost her seat in UP. When the whole country voted for Congress after Indira Gandhi’s assassination, Karnataka gave a significant number of seats to Janata Dal. No single party has crossed this figure of 20 seats in Karnataka since 1989 general elections. Even when neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Goa all delivered landslide victories to one or the other party in last 3 decades, Karnataka has resisted giving even 2/3rd majority (in assembly elections) to any party in these years.

BJP came close when they won 19 seats in 2009 general elections (Yes! even in 2009, Karnataka resisted Congress wave). Though, this pattern of voting against national wave has made elections in the state very interesting it has also been subjected to step-motherly treatment by the center. Even Vajpayee ji, one of the great federal leaders could not do complete justice to Karnataka because of pressure from his allies in Tamil Nadu who were very critical for Government survival. Only from 2014 under Modi ji’s majority government has the state started to get its due. Hence it is important for the state to deliver a landslide victory for a single party to get its due share from the union government.

Things are actually looking up for BJP this time around. BJP won 17 seats in 2014 elections. The important thing is all the seats were won with a significant margin. The lowest margin of victory for a BJP candidate was 17,607 in Davanagere. All the incumbent candidates have been re-nominated who have worked satisfactorily and coupled with the huge popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at least 15 of these MPs are set to be re-elected. There were 3 seats in Karnataka which was lost by BJP to Congress by less than 10,000 seats. In these seats, the Congress MPs have not worked to the expectation level of the electorate. Also, the state government in its budget has treated non-JDS seats indifferently and that disappointment has angered the people in these constituencies. Hence these 3 constituencies may elect BJP taking the tally of BJP to 18.

JD(S) had won 2 seats in 2014, Hassan and Mandya. Mandya is very interesting because JD(S) won because of the divide of local (CS Puttaraju of JDS) versus non-local (Divya Spandana of INC). This time Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy has chosen this constituency for the political debut of his son Nikhil who is seen by the local leaders on the same lines they saw Ms. Divya Spandana, a parachuted leader. But the alliance with Congress should have made this a cake walk for Nikhil Kumaraswamy. But the candidature of Ms. Sumalatha, wife of recently deceased popular actor & former minister Ambareesh has made the election interesting. BJP has already supported her candidature and has not put any candidate in Mandya. Congress workers are also supporting her as fans of Late Ambareesh. Some JDS leaders who are disappointed with the dynastic politics of HD Devegowda has also supported Sumalatha’s candidature which may result in her surprise election.

It is already getting evident that HD Devegowda might have made a blunder by installing his grandson in Hassan and himself shifting to Tumkur. Though Hassan people still adore HD Devegowda, they see Prajwal Revanna as an inexperienced candidate who does not understand the issues and may not be fit to represent them in parliament. Add to this the candidature of A.Manju, who shifted to BJP from Congress is said to have the support of local Congress workers. Also, Congress strongman Siddaramiah is also in favor of defeating JDS in Hassan and Tumkur. Like in Hassan, even Tumkur Congress workers are disappointed as it is being usurped from sitting Congress MP Muddahanumegowda. Though he has now withdrawn his nomination as rebel Congress candidate, Congress party workers are expected to work against HD Devegowda’s election. Because of this, both Hassan and Tumkur may go to BJP candidates.

Hence with these 3 constituencies, BJP may actually cross 20 seats out of 28 seats in Karnataka which may result in more favorable treatment by central government whatever the election results overall in the country on May 23.

The Yashwant Sinha Column – How I lost an opportunity to become Prime Minister

0

16 May 2014, the day the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha took place, started for me on a very hopeful note. I had been a Finance Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government earlier. Given that L. K Advani was the only contemporary senior BJP leader still active in 2014 and he too had become old, I fancied my chance becoming the Prime Minister. Given our history, I was confident that the NDA would never get a majority and then Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister would be out of question. Leaders like me who unite rather than polarize would be naturally considered for the top post.

The day started well and the NDA pulled ahead of the UPA as results poured in. My happiness knew no bounds as the NDA paced from 50 to 100 to 150 to 200 seats. But as the NDA surged past 225, I began to get concerned. I just wished the tally stayed at 225 but unfortunately it surged all the way to 272 and beyond. But I still kept hopes alive given that I had good rapport with the BJP allies. However, to my horror, the surge continued and the BJP went past 272 on its own.

That day I remembered my childhood when as a kid, I used to play marbles with my friends. There was one game with marbles in particular. A line would be drawn in sand and all of us would stand a few meters away and throw the marble towards the line. The kid whose marble stopped closest to the line would win. But if a kid’s marble crossed the line, he would be disqualified and would lose his marble. What would happen with me often is that as I threw my marble, it would overtake all other marbles and come closest to the line and I would get excited that I was going to win.

However, my marble would not stop there but go past the line thereby disqualifying me. As the BJP went past 282 seats, I got that childhood feeling of my marble crossing the line. I got a feeling I had lost my marbles.

Why Indians should elect Honesty not dynasty

0

Never in the world, HONESTY has lost or got defeated by dishonesty.

The forthcoming 2019 election is between honesty versus dishonesty. Narendra Modi is the embodiment of honesty, dedication, hard work, development and the mission of sab ka vikas; wants to make India an economic super power.

On the other hand, most of the opposition parties are dynastic forces, run mostly as family show, known to breed corruption and nepotism, have interest only in developing own family and loot the nation. Today most of the dynastic forces in Indian politics, starting from down south – in Tamil Nadu, the DMK to J&K, where the Abdullah dynasty, all have aligned with congress dynasty because all these parties have one thing in common i.e., develop own dynasty and family and India.

People of India must think of India, development, national security, corruption and scam free governance, digitalization and sab ka vikas. If the dynastic forces are elected back to power, India would be pushed backward several centuries and after which “ALL GODS” on earth also cannot save INDIA.

Whether it is Ramayana or Mahabharat, only dharma and honesty has won. Rama won the battle against mighty Ravan in his own land with the army of monkeys because honesty and Dharma were on his side. Similarly the 5 Pandava brothers won the battle against Kaurava army purely because of honesty and dharma on their side. Harischandra has to endure several tests by God to prove his honesty but finally honesty alone wins. Only because of honesty, David in the biblical story could win over the giant Goliath.

Today Narendra Modi represent honesty and most of the other regional parties on the other hand are corrupt, breed dynastic politics and encourage nepotism.

The Hindu mythology is about fight between honesty and dishonesty, evil and good, Dharma and Adharma, negativity and positive virtues. Every Hindu mythology has clearly shown that although Adharma and evil forces have had its day but at the end were destroyed heinously by honesty and Dharma.

The 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu itself were only for the purpose of destroying all evil and dishonest forces.

India is passing through a traumatic period. The evil forces, the gangs that exist only to loot the nation and promote the politics of dynasty are about to swallow the growth and development of India permanently.

Narendra Modi was the first Prime Minister since independence worked honestly to prove the dignity and strength of India to the world. He was the first Prime Minister to teach stiff lessons to Pakistan and galvanize global support to fight terrorism.

The development initiatives taken by PM Modi to uplift the poor people are more evident than sun in summer.

Whether it is cooking gas connection, electrification, building toilets, creating drinking water facility, opening bank account to transfer the benefit of government schemes directly, the 5 years of Modi government has simply beaten the records of about 50 years of misrule of congress party.

The path breaking measures taken by this government have made most of the corrupt Babus and politicians totally shattered and hopeless. Although all those Babus and politicians can still loot the nation but how and where they would stalk the bribe is a million dollar challenge, thanks to the initiatives of Modi government.

The Benami Transaction Act and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code have further tightens the noose around all those scamsters and looters.

Today all dishonest forces are extremely angry and annoyed by Narendra Modi because he is bringing the rule of honesty and dharma in Indian politics. All the evil, dishonest forces are therefore spreading negativity, hatred, lies and unrest in India so that Narendra Modi can be defeated.

Truth alone would triumph.

India will surpass all these evil forces, dishonest, dynastic forces, the gags of scamsters and looters and Narendra Modi would emerge once again as our Prime Minister to develop India further.

New India under PM Modi will be the land of equal right and dignity for all, where Ram and Rahim, Pauper and Prince, Black and white, educated and illiterate, a technocrat and a farmer, all will have equal opportunity, dignity and recognition, to their merit.

Let us work for such India, let us support PM Modi and re-elect his government to build such India, the India that we all want and the India that we all dream about.  Let us destroy dynastic politics and let us support the politics of honesty represented by PM Modi.

Development, sab ka vikas and national security are the agenda of PM Modi, whereas family, dynasty and how to loot the nation is the agenda of many Tukde Tukde gangs and the great dynast. Let us be unbiased and give importance to India.

Let us save India by electing Narendra Modi. Safety, security, development and dignity of India are in our hands, so let us re-elect Narendra Modi led BJP with massive majority.

All a matter of winning

0
It is all a matter of winning, whether

it’s the heart, the war or the verbal argument
but, what happens if you lose there
why get disturbed or your temper bent?

Why can’t we deal with our own folks
like we deal with our colleagues or neighbors?
Really, is my love, unconditional?

No, although I aim for it, I can say that it is not,
I yell at my loved one, for not watching what he or she’s sitting on,
not reading carefully, instructions on packages, I whine….
because he or she neglects his or her food habits, and…cares for mine;
but I will not do that to my colleagues or my neighbors.
I ignore what they have or have not done, since they are “others”.

Why don’t I apply this to my dear ones, then?
Smile it off or do it myself when
I notice something needs to be done and he or she hasn’t
because it is more important that it gets done
who cares about who did it…….. none.
Staying calm and serene, I will start to inspire
gradually, if not, no worries, nothing is dire.

Why do I want him or her to be perfect, am I?
I just need to be rational, and ask myself why.

I cannot change others by enforcing the change
but by exemplifying and being at best, myself.
They will notice, and also place my serene and
compassionate behavior on their memory-shelf.

It is essential to remind myself repeatedly
Anger does not take me a step further.
With compassion, I make them feel better.
I must be with them in the way they are
’cause then I love them, above and beyond par.

Through compassion, I endear them, and
help them get better in what they do
Win hearts and smiles, aplenty
Also, see my life improve!
