Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019: For all persecuted, against none

0

The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, seems to have become a bone of contention between the government and the opposition with Congress moving to Supreme Court against the bill. The biggest charge that the government being accused of is religious discrimination. In this regard, the opposition within Parliament, many organizations and columnists outside Parliament and internationally, the International Commission for International Religious Freedom and the United Nations Human Rights Commission being the latest one, put the government and mainly Home Minister Amit Shah in the dock. The Bill has been passed by both the Houses, the Lok Sabha (lower house) and the Rajya Sabha (upper house) the Bill has also got President’s assent.

The present Act will bring amendments in earlier law on citizenship. The bill talks of granting citizenship to people from Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian communities displaced from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. According to this, whoever has come to India on or before 31 December 2014 belonging to these communities and has lived for five years, will not be considered illegal. Amidst all these controversies, one thing that needs to be understood first is why there is a necessity for amendment of the Citizenship Act of 1955 and for that we will have to peep into the history of subcontinent. Since the partition of India in 1947, the persecution of minorities started in Pakistan, which continues till today and this is front of the whole world. At the time of partition, the number of Hindus in present-day Pakistan (then West Pakistan) was about 14 percent, the same number has come down to 1.5 percent. This small number has to suffer torture every day and are living in pathetic condition.

United States International Religious Freedom Commission’s annual report of 2019 also mentions the crimes against minorities in Pakistan, which includes forced conversion of people of these communities to abduction, forced marriage and rape of women. The situation is same in Bangladesh. In 1951, there were about 22 percent Hindus in Bangladesh (erstwhile East Pakistan) whose number had come close to 6 percent by 2011. India has raised its voice at international level against persecution of Hindus from time to time. In 1963, Vijaya Laxmi Pandit raised the issue of how Pakistan is persecuting Hindus in her speech at the United Nations. But even after all this, our governments and international agencies did not take any concrete step in order to protect them.

Even today, the condition of minority communities in these countries is not hidden from anyone. All this is in front of the whole world and different human rights organizations have done the work of putting it in front of everyone. Due to fear of being persecuted, a large number of people from these communities have migrated to India because they have no other way. In such a situation, this act is also a proper initiative to give justice to all those exploited and it would be completely wrong to consider it as religious discrimination. This Act will provide citizenship and fundamental rights mainly to the oppressed minorities from these three countries in India and will not in any way withdraw these rights from the present citizens.

An issue has been raised that as the amendment doesn’t include Muslims so it is discriminatory toward them but, here we need to understand that in the three countries mentioned they don’t have any problems on the ground of religion. They are not being persecuted on the basis of religion so they don’t need such protection. There is also a matter of how many refugees India can accommodate. The world is also facing a crisis in the Middle-East leading to migration of large number of people, mostly Muslims, from there to different countries. If Muslims are also included in this, then the number of refugees India is able to accommodate will increase considerably as people from Middle-East may also come via Afghanistan and Pakistan. Europe is in front of us as a clear example of what an unmanaged number of refugees can do.

Also, the Muslims don’t have fear of persecution like these communities. They may migrate for a better future perspective. For example, a major reason for Bangladeshi infiltration in India is the employment and other amenities of life found here, it would be like giving legal recognition to the intrusion if Muslims are included in this act. This act will also work to pressure the governments of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh to get the rights of minorities.

Had the previous governments taken these steps and taken concrete steps on this, thousands of people living as refugees in our country would have already got justice. Well today when Parliament has passed this act, we should welcome it with open minds.

CAB simplified

0

The CAB amended the act to provide that Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan will not be treated as illegal immigrants.

In order to get this benefit, they must have also been exempted from the Foreigners Act, 1946 and the Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1920 by the Central Government.

The bill says that on acquiring Indian Citizenship,
i) such persons will be deemed to be the citizens of India from the date of their entry into India.
ii) all legal proceedings against them in respect to the migration or citizenship will be closed.

The bill adds that the provisions on citizenship for illegal immigrants will not apply to:
i) The tribal areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram or Tripura as included in the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution.
(This means the new citizens will not be settled in the tribal areas of these above-mentioned states.)
ii) The areas under the Inner Line under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873. The Inner Line Permit regulates visit of Indians to Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland.
iii) The ILP to be extended to Manipur as well.
iv) The bill further reduces the period of naturalization for such group of persons from 11 years to 5 years.

Grounds for cancelling OCI registration:

The Act provides that the central government may cancel registration of OCIs on the following 6 grounds:
1. Registration through fraudulent documents.
2. Showing disaffection to the Constitution of India.
3. Engaging with the enemy during war.
4. Necessity with the interest of sovereignty of India, security of state, public interest, or
5. If within 5 years of registration, the OCI has been sentenced to imprisonment for 2 years or more.
6. If the OCI has violated any law that is in force in the country.

Some typical statements in favour of CAB:

1. The Law is meant to CONFER, not Deprive anyone of Indian citizenship.
2. Indian Muslims are in no way affected by this amendment. They are and will continue to enjoy all the benefits as legitimate Indian Citizens.
3. The Bill deals with refugees who are foreign citizens.

THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERSECUTED RELIGIOUS MINORITIES AND ETHNIC VIOLENCE.

Key Aspects:

1. The government has been sensitive to the needs of the Northeast people.
2. CAB has a specific provision which excludes autonomous tribal religions under the Sixth Schedule.
3. Also, States with an Inner Line Permit are excluded. This permit is required to the whole of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Mizoram.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution of India had said in his speech in Constituent Assembly that “It is not the object of this particular Article to lay down a permanent law of citizenship for the country. The business of laying down permanent law of citizenship has been left to the Parliament.”

This statement clearly debunks the lies spread by a selective section of the society saying that this amendment is conflicting with the basic fundamental rights of Constitution of India.

Country based Classification, that is based on the following principles for the 3 states, can be questioned in the court by way of a judicial review:

1. Pakistan and Bangladesh have been a part of British India.
2. Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh have their own state religion.
3. Degrees of Harm.
4. The classification might be limited to singling out the persecuted religious minorities.

In the coming days, debates are sure to fire up with the CAB being challenged in the court of law almost certain.

[This doesn’t include even a fraction of all the atrocities caused against the minorities. This is only a written as a “Thank you” note from a Bangladesh to those who worked tirelessly on the Citizenship Amendment Bill. It would be impossible to name all those involved in making the bill come true, therefore I am not mentioning any individual. Finally, I would like to thank media personnel such as Rajdeep Sardesai and Barkha Dutt for either turning a blind eye to the persecution of minorities in the neighboring countries or being completely high and drunk all the time.]

Making law versus playing politics, Modi verses opposition- Visceral examination of parliamentary debate

0

Ever since Narendra Modi came to power and started to govern the country focusing exclusively on the agenda of development and sab ka vikas and clamping down corruption, most of the opposition parties started to lose their foundation, which is nothing but corruption, looting public money, inculcating dynastic politics, nepotism and minority appeasement.

The second term of PM Modi has been on fulfilling all promises BJP had made to the people of India and structurally taking India to next of level of growth and development.

Several transforming laws PM Modi has brought such as IBC to liquidate NPA and fixing those who looted the money from our banks, repelling of article 370 and 35A, the most regressive, draconian and biased law that was in existence in Jammu and Kashmir giving a status to the state to leech the resources from India but at the same time play the tunes for Pakistan and militants who wants to break India. The opposition then called the repelling of article 370 as anti-Islam and reduced the parliamentary debate with religious colour. The special status of J&K was against non-Muslim minorities was the argument of the opposition parties. The special status of J&K protect the state from any law passed by Government of India against corruption and similarly the special status also prevent any Indian buy any piece of land in the state, the Kashmiri Pandits have to either convert to Islam or must leave the state but none of these atrocities were ever questioned by the opposition parties. One or two families in J&K like how congress party of functions today, alone had the entitlement for everything and rest of the citizens in J&K have to be just followers and listeners of either of these two families.

Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act (UAPA) when brought in the parliament for its accent, again the opposition parties rallied together to up the ante and opposed the bill stating that the bill was against Muslims. When Modi’s government scrapped Triple Talaq and empowered the voiceless, impecunious Muslim women and regained their dignity and right, again the opposition cried and shouted that the scraping of Triple Talaq was against Muslim men.

Now the government had brought another transformative bill called Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), which talks about giving citizenship to all Indians suffered persecution from Islamic countries, again the opposition parties have come up with the same slogan that the bill is against Muslim.

No single opposition party has any logic or merit-full argument to tell the world why they oppose the bill. All they have to say was India must be treated as Darmasala and must accept anyone who enters India.

The atrocities and discrimination various minority communities such as Christian, Sikhs, Parsis, Buddhist and Hindus had to suffer in our neighbouring countries are quite sickening. No civilized nation in the world can forgive or forget those Islamic countries used brute force either to convert all minorities to Islam or leave the country.

The most compassionate question is that where else all those minority communities would go other than India? Most of the opposition parties too had made tall promise in the past in favour of persecuted minority communities from our neighbouring countries but when Modi wants to do something real, truthful and original to all those persecuted minority communities, once again the opposition parties want to stall the parliament session with the same rhetoric and sloganeering that CAB is against Muslim.

People of India must ask loudly who is dividing India in Hindu and Muslim line. It is the opposition which is dividing the nation by keep invoking minority appeasement politics and dividing the society.

By branding Modi as anti-Muslim, the opposition parties are dividing the Muslims from the main stream nationalism and patriotism centric politics and are sowing the seeds of fear, insecurity and discrimination.

India can be saved by two distinct ways such as

  1. Support Modi unconditionally and the support people needs to express towards BJP must be non-negotiable. Modi alone can unite India, develop the nation and achieve sab ka vikas. Whereas the opposition parties know only to divide the nation, promote dynastic politics, nepotism and corruption.
  2. All Muslims must unite and defeat the opposition parties. Muslims need an anchorage point. AIMM or other like-minded political forces, Muslims should chose for the purpose of defeating congress, DMK and other political parties that rides on minority appeasement and marginalize Muslims in India.

India must prosper. Modi is working overtime to make India strong, decisive and developed.  India must stand with Modi and Amit Shah and vote for stability and assertiveness and only then all those promote dynastic politics and corruption through appeasement politics can be shown the exit door from Indian politics.

Jai Hind.

CAB protest: Getting impaled on your own sword!

0

Much to the relief of India, the CAB bill has been passed to give Indian citizenship to persecuted Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs and Zoroastrians of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

As a child of the 80s, 90s we have all been exposed to the stories of our violent, bloody partition. Serials like Tamas, movies like Train to Pakistan and much later 1947: Earth, exposed us to the sectarian violence unleashed during the days of Partition.

Then over the years, we heard the harrowing tales of actual refugees; of how members of many families were abducted, raped, butchered; of how men murdered their sisters, mothers to save them from fates worse than death; of how women committed suicide to save themselves from becoming sex slaves. For some of us, our visceral hatred for Congress and its lackeys has its source in the bloody partition of 1947.

CAB, naturally addresses the historical wrongs committed against people from these 6 communities, who were caught in the crossfire and have suffered over the years. At such times, when there has been some semblance of closure or normalcy given to people who have suffered over the decades since independence, one would expect celebrations across India, among largely sympathetic Indians. Instead, we find that there are certain sections of politicians, political parties and even some states protesting against it.

The political parties and politicians are doing this for their own limited political aspirations, never mind country or humanity. Time and time again they have shown a disdain for larger national, humanitarian goals. They would sacrifice the larger goals on the altar of their own personal ambitions. This much we have seen repeatedly play across India.

The congress party and its rag-tag gang of so-called “liberals” have quickly abandoned all vestiges of liberalism to oppose the CAB Bill, in service of their policy of appeasement. If one where to look back, the left certainly, the congress and the likes of TMC, have over the years, systematically worked towards changing the demographics of large tracts of India, by settling immigrants from only one minority community. By doing so they hoped that the growing numbers of that community would vote for them over the years.

This policy of appeasement has systematically angered the larger majority of Hindus living in the country. The results of which are visible in the political numbers swinging away from congress.

The worse, I am afraid is yet to come, since the mollycoddled community has a history of voting for hardcore members of its own community. So, over time the electoral pie of congress and similar minded parties will shrink, given that neither the appeased minorities, nor the aggrieved majority will vote for them. They will over time become the neither-here-nor-there Political party, if they haven’t already, condemned to stand for nothing and achieve nothing! The CAB bill protest is another quick step towards that inevitable future!

What is worse is that by aligning their state with narrow political agendas, the Assamese protesters too are allowing themselves to become cannon fodder!

Over the years we have been exposed to various levels of anti-outsider sentiments in Assam.

https://www.rediff.com/news/2003/nov/19assam.htm

https://frontline.thehindu.com/static/html/fl2401/stories/20070126002803200.htm

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/48-killed-in-ulfa-rampage/articleshow/1077731.cms?from=mdr

The current slogan championing Assam protest, reads: Assam for Assamese! A slogan that seems to suggest that non-Assamese have no place in Assam. If this was not funny enough what is even funnier that its championed by Assamese living in other parts of India.

The fact of the matter is that Assamese have made homes all over India. And while they have learnt to live AS RELUCTANT OUTSIDERS, their inability to live WITH OUTSIDERS is being noticed by people in other states, states that countless Assamese, including the champions of the protest, call home. Should these Assamese living outside Assam, and rejecting outsiders in Assam be given a similar treatment by their fellow Indians in states that they currently reside in? Should other states and their denizens force Assamese to stay in their ghettos in Assam, depriving them of a chance to pursue education, livelihood outside their home state? Would that be pretty? The protesters ought to remember this when they call for tolerance from others, cause what’s true for the goose is certainly true for the gander!

The political parties protesting CAB are beyond redemption at this point. They are trapped to chase ever diminishing returns and ever shrinking electorate. Student protesters in Assam would be well advised to not align their demands, futures with such parties, who are engaged in a rapid downward spiral. Their cultural demands can be met but their regional chauvinism cannot be condoned. This is a self-defeatist agenda at the very least!

Treachery against Hindus by secular forces on the CAB issue

0

The debate over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 (“CAB”), has once again exposed the hostility of the Leftist/ liberal/secular forces towards the Hindu community.

The same Leftist/liberal/secular forces were crying hoarse demanding that India give refuge to Rohingya Muslims, on the basis of compassion. But they have no compassion for unfortunate Hindus & Sikhs, who have been forced out of their homes in Pakistan & Bangladesh, due to religious intolerance. Such is their hypocrisy and doublespeak!

Both Pakistan and Bangladesh are self-proclaimed Islamic nations, where minorities are disadvantaged by statute. Not just that, all minorities including Hindu, Sikhs & Christians have faced religious persecution on an ongoing basis, in both the countries. Pakistan, which was founded on the principle that Muslims cannot live with other communities, has witnessed large scale persecution and pogroms of all minority communities (https://www.asiatimes.com/2019/07/opinion/pakistans-religious-minorities-continue-to-suffer/).

Bangladesh, which is supposedly an example of a tolerant and liberal Islamic republic, has also witnessed a large no. of incidents involving the massacres of Hindus since 1947, some of which are mentioned here. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Persecution_of_Bengali_Hindus).

The Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 resulted in one of the largest genocides of the 20th century. An article in Time magazine, stated that “The Hindus, who account for three-fourths of the refugees and a majority of the dead, have borne the brunt of the Muslim military hatred”.

The book ”The Blood Telegram: Nixon,Kissinger and a Forgotten Genocide” exposes how the Pakistanis specifically targeted Hindus during the public uprising in Bangladesh in 1971, but shockingly,  the Indian government covered this up! (https://indianexpress.com/article/world/world-others/not-bengalis-hindus-were-pakistani-targets-in-1971-bangladesh-war-claims-new-book/)

This article by Saswati Sarkar succinctly captures the atrocities faced by Hindus in Pakistan & Bangladesh, and the ‘conspiracy of silence’ by the media on this issue. (https://www.dailyo.in/politics/the-missing-hindus-in-south-asia-and-a-conspiracy-of-silence/story/1/1149.html)

Similarly, Hindus & Sikhs were brutally repressed by the Taliban in Afghanistan, because of which they had to flee their homes.

It in this historical context, that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019, needs to be seen.

In light of all these facts,  it is astonishing that Leftists have no sympathy for Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs who have sought refuge in India, due to religious persecution over the years. Their so called sympathy for minorities, and love for human rights, presents itself only when the affected parties are Muslims, but never when the victims are Hindus.

One reason that secular forces including the media were giving for opposing CAB, is that Muslims from Pakistan & Bangladesh will not be given refuge in India ! On one hand, seculars have been shouting from the rooftops all over the world, that Muslims are not safe in India, and are living in an atmosphere of fear. And yet, here they are arguing that India should go ahead and provide refuge to even more Muslims !!

Well, logic was never the strong point of leftists, even though they never stop singing paeans to their intellectual superiority.

Slyly, the secular forces were couching their opposition against the CAB in constitutional terms, arguing that it is ‘discriminatory’ against Muslims. Well, it could be argued that it is discriminatory against Christians from New Zealand also, or against Jews from Israelis as well, as it doesn’t promise them refuge in India ! The premise of the CAB is not a blanket right to Citizenship in India, but support for persecuted minorities in India’s neighbourhood!

Basically, all these arguments were red herrings being raised by Leftists to hide their actual motivation. The Islamization of Assam and West Bengal has been happening uninterrupted since independence, and a few more decades could tip the scales permanently in favour of Muslims.

http://indiafacts.org/will-assam-muslim-majority-next-40-years/

http://indiafacts.org/demographic-changes-is-bengal-sitting-on-a-volcano/

The CAB comes as a jolt to those who are supportive of demographic changes in Eastern India, So, the actual motivation behind the opposition to CAB, is to ensure that the Islamic takeover of Assam & West Bengal continues unimpeded.

The intention behind the opposition to CAB, is also to deny the status of victimhood to Hindus. For in the twisted worldview of the Leftists, only Muslims can suffer from persecution, but never Hindus. According to this perverted mindset, Hindus are always the perpetrators, and Muslims always the victims. At the core of this worldview, which is abetted by all secular political parties, is the belief that Hindus do not have even basic human rights.

It is also an eye opener, that all those political parties that have been vociferously crying for the rights of illegal Bangladeshi Muslims in the NRC case, are actively campaigning against CAB which would give relief to Hindus. This is a lesson for Hindus, that no secular party will stand up for their rights. This is downright treachery against the Hindu community by the secular parties, all of whom rely on majority Hindu votes, to grab power.

From now on, any concern expressed by Leftist & secular forces for minority rights will ring hollow, considering their concern for minorities is highly partisan and patently communal in nature. This issue also raises several questions about the Bengali intelligentsia, a large number of whom are themselves refugees from Bangladesh. They have never shied away from highlighting the causes of Palestinians, but now stand as mute spectators when the future of their fellow Bengal Hindus is at stake.

What is the Indian Union Muslim League, and why are they against Citizenship Ammendment Bill 2019?

0

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is a state based political party in Kerela, which is an offshoot of the All-India Muslim League that was established in 1906 during the times of British rule in India. The All-India Muslim League was at the forefront of the partition of India, and strongly advocated for the creation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. When the All-India Muslim League was disbanded after the creation of Pakistan, IUML was set up to continue to be a platform for radical Islamic elements in India.

On 10th December, 2019, the Citizenship Ammendment Bill 2019 was tabled in the Lower House of the Indian Parliament after being introduced by the Home Minister Amit Shah. The Citizenship Ammendment Bill ammends the qualifications for a Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist resident of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to attain the citizenship of India after living in India for a minimum of 6 years, from the pre-existing 11 years. The bill aims to act as a relief for the refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh that are oppressed in their home countries and are either raped or forcefully converted for belonging to a particular religion.

The IUML believes in the radical approach to Islam and intends to outnumber the local Hindu population of India. However, the IUML along with other Christian organisations in the North East of India are afraid of becoming a minority in India, since it would lead to several steps back from their goal of creating a Hindu-minority India. IUML is also at the forefront of advocating for the acceptance of Rohingya Muslims from Bangladesh and Myanmar. In fact, the Rohingya Muslims were expelled from Myanmar because it was seen that they had murdered and raped the local Hindu population in Burma and burried the bodies in a ditch. Many Rohingya refugees have also shown their links to Islamic terror organisations such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

The Muslim League belongs to a radical and fringe section of the Islamic society. The history of IUML shows that they have always echoed the opinions of the Pakistan government, while also being an ally in the Congress-led UPA in Kerela. It has proved to be a Hindu-phobic party that links the growth of Hindu population with “toxicity”. Having key relations with the Pakistan government, the IUML is a key suspect for espionage in the eyes of patriotic Indian Citizens. Having one member in the Rajya Sabha, and 3 members in the Lok Sabha, the existence of IUML is a threat to the unity and integrity of India.

Lies and Fraud Fact Check, The Wire or The Liar? Nehru Bharat Ratna

In this special class of journalism of lies, courtesy the liar, err I mean the wire, We will learn how to exonerate a lie and establish it with another whoopin’ one!

Before naming any names or event, let’s take some generic example:

There are events A and B. A is the causal agent and B the effect, meaning that B will happen if and only if A happens. It can never be violated according to Indian Constitution. (para 3)

Also, there are two persons A and B, associated with the respective events. A’s precedence in Indian constitution is higher than B, but B is executive and A is figurehead. (para 4)

Person A and B have to cross paths in the working of parliamentary execution, so let’s assume there is a work-life relationship between them, a tandem, positive or negative will be decoded later.

Supposedly we have to establish to a lie taking into consideration only A and B (person & event), Simple

1. Event B happened without Event A happening at all. Contradicting the condition set in para 3.

2. Albeit Person A causes event B to happen without event A using his authority, He utterly dislikes, loathes even, the person B.

So, we have spun two intricate lies here; A who absolutely despises B, has a change of heart due to certain event, supersedes the sequence of events, i.e. ignores A and makes B happen.

Indeed, what a well-established lie!! We should be proud of ourselves.

Oh! are we forgetting something? Yes! cherry on the cake! Name our web of lies “Fact Checks” to fool our readers as well as search engines easily.

Remember students, the credit to spinning these lies goes only to The Wire.

Are you wondering what are the events and person which the liar spun its lie around, well please refer to original liar article link given in subsequent paragraph.

But We who believe Satyamev Jayate in our National Emblem, We should know the truth and dispel the lies spread by some malicious magazines.

So Finally the truths:

1. PMO stated in 2013 that there exists no record of recommendation(s) of Bharat Ratna to Nehru and Indira in’55 & ’71 respectively.

2. Another reply made to same query stated that PM acting recommends the awardees to the president of India

3. They (PMO) kept mum on outstanding achievements of these recipients of highest civil honour of India.

Inferences can be drawn on these that either the records were not kept intentionally or were destroyed, or due procedure not followed by the president himself on both occasions?

In absence of the evidence it can only be deduced that Nehru recommended himself for the award but fortunately burnt that recommendation to ashes to protect his holiness himself?
