Post-COVID19, let’s work to get world-class degree in India

Indians as a whole have foreign university degrees mania on the pretext of world-class education. Yes, it is true that, as per the criteria laid by reputed university ranking agencies such as QS World University Ranking, Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), etc., no Indian university has been one among the top 100 world-class universities so far. And, at the same time, all foreign universities, where large number of Indian students study, are not world-class universities. But, ‘foreign degrees are foreign degrees’ like foreign spouses, dresses, foods, jobs, etc. for many of us Indians.

But, it is only rich and elite (less than 5%, as per some study, of India’s population) who are privileged to avail the foreign degrees as they can afford financially apart from miniscule few non-rich and elite but highly meritorious who can secure this privilege through limited available government scholarships and corporate sponsorship after appearing competitive tests and screenings. Upper middle-class, another 10% or so of the population, though very keen yet can’t go for the same partly due to cursed ever increasing exchange rate, now hovering above Rs.74/- per dollar.

Foreign degrees are considered a proud possession

Many so proud of their foreign degrees that they do not hesitate to demonstrate their and their class people’s foreign degrees as and when required in order to grab special privilege which might not have been achieved on merit. For example, when economist and former RBI Governor Dr. Raghuram Rajan did not insist for second term as the Governor of RBI in favour of academia in University of Chicago, US as per his earlier commitment, one Lutyen elite having Harvard Law degree allegedly mocked, “The US educated Dr. Rajan forced to resign by Indian University educated Finance Minister”. In 2018, while traveling to J&K via Punjab, I had noticed a salon signage that highlighted ‘Hair-dresser trained in Australia’; such is the foreign mania that sway Indians’ psyche.

In knowledge of this author, no sincere attempt has been made by people who matter so far to get world-class university in India though large numbers of Indian born faculties and top academic administrators are part of world-class universities around the world, done world-class research there, got world-class patents and publications, build world-class enterprises, etc. Why Raghuram Rajan shown commitment to foreign university, why not to Indian university if he was not comfortable with his the then boss i.e. Finance Minister? But, unfortunately, this issue has not been considered for discussion and debate in our blistering TV studios, in much talked-about Literary Festivals, print editorials, etc. Is it for reason of foreign mania?

India and its eminence

Truly, non-existence of world-class university either as per Western laid ranking criteria or otherwise is unfortunate for a nation of second largest population with third largest economy as per PPP (and fifth largest in dollar term) with more than seven decades of self-rule. Yet, we aim to be Vishwa Guru. Besides, India is home to world’s one of the oldest and richest civilizations, has rich scientific language (Sanskrit), plenty of rich literary and spiritual works, architectural marvels, Ayurveda, Yoga-the most scientifically designed health exercise, and last but not the least is the invention of ‘Zero’ without which no scientific work is possible in modern world. Indians should not forget that human civilization’s early universities or centre of learning’s were set up at Nalanda, Taxila, Sharadapeeth, etc. in India.

World-class university proposal and this author’s point of views

To carry forward this author’s point of view, here, he brings to the notice of his readers the interactions/debates (over social media and Letter-to-Editor pages in The New Indian Express, Bhubaneswar edition) he had with some natives but foreign educated academicians and intellectuals in the wake of Odisha Assembly passing of Vedanta University Bill 2007 proposed by industrialist Anil Agrawal to be set up on Puri-Konark marine drive with initial endowment of $4 billion with stated objective to make the university one among the top 50 world-class universities within two decades. But, the proposal is as on date a non-starter mainly due to overt opposition from influential educationists and the so-called intellectuals, and covert opposition of corrupt bureaucrats and politicians.

Why did they oppose? A billion dollar question! Reasons, among others, they gave overtly were: 1. Vedanta University will dwarf state premier varsity i.e. Utkal University. 2. It will destroy area’s holy sanctity and culture (Puri being Lord Jagannath’s abode and holiest place in Hindu religion apart from Konark being Black Pagoda). 3. Odisha is a backward state. Odisha government instead of wasting time to promote world-class university should concentrate in universalizing primary education. 4. Local people don’t have required skills and academic standards for employment in the proposed university. 5. Anil is an industrialist. Industrialist can’t be honest education promoter. 6. Why 7,000 acres of land? University can be set up in less than 50 acres of land. Industrialist Anil, in the disguise of promoting education, is trying to grab precious land as a land mafia, etc. etc.

This author went on countering them point by point with following rejoinders: 1. I am a proud graduate of Utkal University. However, if my university can’t grow to be world-class university for whatever reasons, what is the fault of other university in its vicinity to be world-class? Further, a world-class university in the vicinity might inspire/guide my university (Utkal University) to scale new height from present standstill. 2. In Indian culture, education and religion are complementary to each other; whereas, in West, education and industry are complementary. With setting up Vedanta University at Puri, religion, education and industry can grow together and can bring economic development and prosperity to the state. Further, Holy Lord Jagannath’s abode and its unique universal culture and value would get more exposure and attention. By now without having VU, has the Odisha culture not been invaded and academic sanctity in institutions not destroyed? Per example: Earlier, in college annual function, eminent speakers in area of philosophy, literature, education, politics, culture, economics, media, etc. were invited. But, now, Bollywood half-naked pop dancers have almost replaced them. 3. Yes, agree that Odisha is a backward state. Was the US a developed nation when in 19th Century its industrialists went on founding world class varsities there? Here, I present some data of only two US universities’ direct contribution to local economies and employment opportunity*. In 2006, Stanford University spent over $2.1 billion in its local counties, which was just under half of its total revenues. Additionally, in 2006, SU was Silicon Valley’s single largest employer. As reported in 2007, University of California, Berkeley, 81% of its $1.6 billion budget spent on salaries, goods and services in the Bay Area and employed 25,700 people. The 2011 report showed that by the time, it was paying more than $2.5 billion in salaries and employed over 43,500 people with economic output of more than $4.6 billion. More impressively, a 2014 report revealed that the varsity had created 2,610 active companies which employed 5,42,433 people with estimated revenue of $317 billion per year and 55% of those companies were located in the local Bay Area. 4. Regarding the allegation that local people don’t have required skills and academic standards for employment, I reminded project opponents that when India’s first IIT in US’s MIT model was about to be set up in early 1950s at Kharagpur, India didn’t have required Western criteria skilled people. So, Swiss architect Dr. Werner M. Moser joined for infrastructure development and European scholar Prof. R. A. Kraus and Prof. H. Tischner’s services requisitioned for development of course curriculum. Later, one of them went on becoming first HoDs of Electronics department. 5. In so far as allegation that Anil is an industrialist and industrialist can’t be trusted for academy, I simple asked them, “Who is founder of IISc, which is No.1 varsity in national ranking of higher education in India now, and what was he?” And who are founders of world class universities in the US? 6. As argued ‘if university can be set up on 50 acres of land’ why then an engineering college allotted more than 100 acres of land in the same Puri-Konark marine drive, Utkal University got 400 acres and IIT-Kharagpur allotted 2100 acres? For further explanation on need of large track of land, the examples of Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley can be referred.

Hidden agenda against world-class university

Sadly, even after long seven decades of self-rule, India could not get a university’s name among the top 100 world-class universities. Is it because those, who supposed to facilitate building of world-class universities, are not committed to do so? Or there is any hidden agenda? During early days of independence, India had laid the foundation for world-class university in the name of IIT. But, the same zeal did not get the required steam soon after, and till date, the issue remains a non-starter.  And Indian students (about 7.5 lakhs as the Ministry of External Affairs data released in 2019) spend $7 billion or around Rs 45,000 crore per year, which is 60% of national annual budget allocated for higher education, on foreign education because of “sub-standard” quality of higher education in the country, according to a study by industry body Assocham and Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences as reported in 2015.

Now, as reported in several media months back, during the sway of dreaded COVID19, the US administration have decided not to allow foreign students to remain in the country if their classes are going to be held online mode. Also the move will hit those who have secured admission for the fall session beginning in August/September and those who had returned to their home countries due to pandemic. Several foreign universities sent students back home, while classes have now been switched to online. Though foreign universities have resumed virtual sessions, many students and parents are not satisfied with digital classes. “The online classes are bit difficult for beginners as the foreign education system is different,” said Jayesh Jacob of Royalae World, education and career services as reported in Deccan Chronicle.

In the given situation, one can understand the mental plight of teenaged admitted in foreign universities, and their parents. As every crisis comes with an opportunity, let us use this opportunity, which has come in disguise of dreaded COVID19, to build world-class universities to acquire world-class degrees back in India forgetting maniac foreign degrees. In the process, not only the flight of precious foreign exchange can be rescued but the same can additionally be earned by way of getting foreign students apart from the reversed the brain-drain of academics, scientists, entrepreneurs, etc. And the world-class universities status for Indian universities will follow.

The atrocities on Hindus by Moplah Muslims

How many Indian Hindus have heard of “Moplah Rebellion”? Possibly a very few! The ‘term’ has first been cooked-up and then erased from common Indian narrative by Left leaning Nehruvian historians of modern India. However, it had nothing to do with any rebellion, but everything to do with genocide and atrocities on Hindus.

‘Moplahs’ are local Muslims in South Malabar area of Kerala. It was exactly one hundred years back, that the Moplahs launched sustained atrocities on Hindus for multiple reasons. Nehruvian Indian History calls those mass atrocities on Hindus as ‘Moplah Rebellion’. But, the collective Hindu memory of India could never forget that Islamic atrocity on Hindus of Malabar region by Moplahs a century back. ‘Moplah rebellion’ of 1921 was not also a ‘peasant uprising’, as has been propagated by Nehruvian historians, but an ‘anti-Hindu genocide’ in nature and intent and content.

The worst cover-up of Nehruvian history of India has been “Moplah Rebellion”. The so called ‘rebellion’ by Moplah Muslims in 1921 started on 21 August as resistance against the British colonial rule, against the Hindu land lords, and in favour of the “Khilafat Movement’, but ended in communal violence against Hindus. Ernad and Valluvanad Taluks of Malabar area were declared “Khilafat kingdoms by Moplahs. The comments of three eminent persons on Moplah genocide of Hindus are given below, who were not supporters of BJP or RSS.

Dr B R Ambedkar said, “The Hindus were visited by a dire fate at the hands of the Moplahs. Massacres, forcible conversions, desecration of temples, foul outrages upon women, such as ripping open pregnant women, pillage, arson and destruction….. were perpetrated freely by the Moplahs upon the Hindus…”

Dr Ambedkar on Gandhi’s betrayal said that, any person could have said that this was too heavy a price for Hindu-Muslim unity. But Mr. Gandhi was so much obsessed by the necessity of establishing Hindu-Muslim unity….that he spoke of the Mappilas (Moplahs) as the “brave God-fearing Moplahs who were fighting for what they consider as religion and in a manner which they consider as religious”.

Annie Beasant recounted, “A respectable Nayar Lady at Melatur was stripped naked by the rebels in the presence of her husband and brothers, who were made to stand close by with their hands tied behind. When they shut their eyes in abhorrence they were compelled at the point of sword to open their eyes and witness the rape committed by the brute in their presence.”

“They (Moplah) established the Khilafat Raj, crowned a King, murdered and plundered abundantly, and killed or drove away all Hindus who would not apostatize. Somewhere about a lakh people were driven from their homes with nothing but the clothes they had on, stripped of everything.”

The Viceroy, Lord Reading reflected, “Their wanton and unprovoked attack on the Hindus, the all but wholesale looting of their houses in Ernad, etc, the forcible conversion of Hindus in the beginning of the Moplah rebellion and the wholesale conversion of those who stuck to their homes in later stages, the brutal murder of inoffensive Hindus without the slightest reason except that they are “Kafirs” …… burning of Hindu temples, the outrage on Hindu women and their forcible conversion and marriage by the Moplahs.”

Gandhi supported that genocide of Hindus by Moplah Muslims to satisfy his delusion of Hindu-Muslim unity and Congress Party, too, remained inert on such a large scale atrocities by Muslims on Hindus. So, no Indian Hindu today, worth his salt, should forget the murder, force conversion, plunder of Hindus properties and rape of their women in tens of thousands by the Moplah Muslims in Kerala a century back.

“Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it”.

He who tills the land: A chance encounter with a small farmer

0

On the hot afternoon of 28 Sep 2020 I dropped my daughter for an entrance exam and had to wait for next 2 hours or so till it finished. I never thought that these 2 hours will shake me up and open a new horizon altogether. I started wondering as to how to kill these 2 hours on this sunny and hot afternoon outside the exam centre in open with no waiting facility. I reluctantly sat down under partial shade of a Kiker tree.

Gazing around I saw fields, some with Bajra, Jowar and few barren ones too. At some distance I noticed some people working in a field, so instead of sitting I decided to take a walk in the rustic environment and enjoy the feel of a village and its life. As I reached the field where people were busy harvesting Bajra, one of the person walked upto me and asked kuch chahiye babuji? No, I said, I just came to see around and what he was doing. Taking off his head-cloth, he wiped sweat from his face and arms, and settled under the shade of an Aamla tree.

What gets you here? Are you a vyopari (trader)? he asked, (mistaking me for a land broker). No I said, I was just waiting for the exam to get over. Lot of brokers kept coming to ask for our land that’s why he asked, he said. And we got into small conversation.

“How much land you have?” I asked him. “Little”, he said, “7 bighas”, pointing to his fields. “Why those two fields are vacant”? I asked him. “Paani kahan hai? don’t have water to cultivate all, mostly we depend on rain only”. But I saw a small drain nearby which should be getting canal water, I countered him. “That’s far and water came very rarely”, he told.

I asked about his children. “I have two sons and they go to city to work as daily wagers”, he said. “You must be comfortable with income both from farming and wages of your sons”, I said. He looked in my eyes and said in low deep voice, “bas gujaara ho jataa hai”. I could sense pain in his voice.

“Did you hear about the farm bill recently announced by the Govt and will it be beneficial to you?” I asked. “Yes I heard something about it in village”, he said. He could sell his crop to anyone he wished and get best price, I told him displaying that I know a thing or two about farming. “Humne kon se truck bhar-bhar ke bechne hai? Doesn’t matter to me, we have very little to sell as such. we will give to local trader who comes here and pays us in cash”. His reply actually came as a surprise to me.

“You do not seem to be happy about your situation but you are sitting on a goldmine”, I said; “why don’t you sell your land or a part of it to do something else with that money. I am sure that you will get good price for your land”. “This land is our mother, aur maa ko kaise beche sahab?” he was quick and spontaneous to reply. “But I know that my sons are going to sell this after I die, he said remorsefully. And may be they are just waiting for that day only”.

I asked him why he didn’t educate his sons as there were so many institutes in and around. This would have given them an opportunity to get better jobs. He took a deep sigh and said, “jo hamari kismet babuji? He asked me how many children hd come for that exam? I said, might be close to one thousand. “And did you see any child of a farmer or labour coming for the exam?” I could not answer this for sure because there were probably as many cars and bikes in parking as were the students. There may have been one odd from humble background but that’s all! and I understood the point he was trying to convey.

As I took the walk back towards the entry gate of exam centre, I realized that life of farmer especially a small one is damn difficult; no wonder so many of them succumb to this stress and end their lives. Lack of water for irrigation, small landholdings, high expenses and even higher uncertainty of nature are causes of his misery, I felt. No bill or act will make any difference to guys like him and his agony is bound to continue till he dies.

For most of the urban lads, our knowledge is restricted only to what we see on television or read in magazines. We feel elated when we hear that Govt will double the income of farmers or when they claim that a new act passed will change lives of farmers. But the real picture remains very different. It is very difficult for us to gauge the facts on ground unless we experience it first hand.

Tales of the Lutyens’ top cops

0

Indian Police Service is the essential cog of the ‘Steel Frame’ that Sardar Patel envisioned to serve the country with utmost dedication. Policing is one activity that evokes consonance and dissonance with the country’s citizenry, as it serves as the barged wire fence, ready to protect and pierce, depending upon the path of the law one takes. But, it raised one’s eye brows when the LWE started showering encomiums on two Cops, as India’s Top Cops, as it never shied from associating Trigger Happiness with the cops. Well, LWE means not only Left Wing Extremism, but Lutyens Word Establishment, though many don’t quarrel when one insinuates both connote the same, as no one is sure. Be that, as it may.

During the last few months, Lutyen Czars took upon themselves the duty to shower respects on two of so called Top Cops. If they thrust ‘Top Cops’ on any ex. Police Officer, its not for nothing. So, who? One is Ved Marwah, who passed away recently, and the other is Julio Ribero.

Ved Marwah has been credited by Shekhar Gupta, as someone “who wore the IPS badge…today’s Delhi Police, unfortunately, doesn’t even deserve to claim his legacy… ” Ved Marwah had served as the Delhi Police Commissioner (1985-1988) post Anti Sikh Riots and as Chief of National Security Guards (1988-90), especially during the tumultuous days of terrorism in Punjab and was the respected luminary on anti terror operations. But, what struck a discordant note, in his otherwise illustrious career, was the period of 1985-1988, when he served as the Delhi Police Commissioner immediately after the 1984 Anti Sikh Riots, in the context of Shekhar Gupta’s observation of his legacy being unclaimmable by current Delhi Police (Well, it was always Anti Sikh Riots, not Pogrom, Genocide….. you know, even though it was one sided against sikhs. Thats the power of LWE narrative).

Ved Marwah was deputed in 1984 to conduct the administrative inquiry on the role of Police Force in the violence. But, he reportedly ceased his inquiry on the orders from above. He did not turn to be whistle blower, then. Rather, when he took over as Delhi Police Commissioner as immediate successor in 1985, he chose to transform ‘from the top – cease and desist order’ with respect to the inquiry on Anti Sikh Pogrom, into a self-imposed one. Or, probably, his appointment to Delhi Police Commissioner might have had its own strings attached, with an ‘asterisk marked conditions apply clause’ imposing such ‘cease and desist order’, one could safely surmise. Thus, evidently, nothing happened into the investigations of the Anti Sikh Pogram, with no justice being done to the victims. No activism for such justice whatsoever.

His stint in Delhi Police was followed by the prime post of NSG Chief in 1988 and a Padma Shri in 1989, both conferred by Rajiv Gandhi Government, which speaks volumes about what Marwah did (didn’t do) for his subsequent ‘rewards’. This was the unsaid part of the tribute paid by the notorious Shekhar Gupta to the celebrated top cop Ved Marwah. And contrary to what Shekhar Gupta says, Ved Marwah legacy is not blemishfree, to lay claim to. So, the unmissable bottomline is, LWE would celebrate cops who keep the interests of the Family, in tact, not for any Anti Terror operations’ acumen or national interest. (oh…..Shekhar Gupta…..not again)

This needs to be seen in the context of how the Lutyens treated the death of another Cop from Gujarat who headed the Police force during the period of 2002 to 2004, by recollecting the Gujarat Riots (it was promptly called by LWE as Anti Muslim Pogrom, even though both hindus and muslims had been killed in the riots) as ‘the worst in the history of modern India’, conveniently forgetting that though any riots or political violence was worst part of India’s story, there were many riots that were greater in scale in terms of violence and casualties, with Assam Riots of 2012 under Congress Rule said to have displaced 4 lakh people and the ruling establishment was under denial of the magnitude of the conundrum. For LWE, journalism is always politics by other means.

The next story gets on to the one about Julio Ribeiro, the ex. Mumbai Commissioner of yesteryears, who was fondly called Top Cop by Rajdeep Sardesai in this video (16.25 mins).

By now, one has come to know Julio Ribeiro as one who never hesitated to peddle fake news and narratives on Christians being under attack, only to be rebuked rightly by the economist, Jagdish Bhagwati. Sidestepping that, lets see what Ribeiro told Rajdeep, the RaOne of Indian English Media, in the above video.

Ribeiro says (25.30 mins) “I don’t think the Bombay Police would bother about the drug angle because everybody knows that the whole (Bollywood) Industry would have to be investigated in which case one of the big economic activity in Bombay, the Bollywood would get finished……….This is a political thing. Rhea Chakravarthy, who knows nothing about politics has been a pawn”. Now, here comes our RaOne, Rajdeep, in a typical Michael Angelo Style [to borrow the phrases of the centrist intellectual @aranganthan, who takes on the LWE with aplomb ] “with his quintessential whitewashing brushes from his boxers-pocket, after folding his lungi, chisel in his vest-pocket, strutting out the Sistine to deliver a masterpiece”, among his countless others, to completely whitewash Mumbai Police’s decades old unabashed complicity in Bollywood’s drug racket as confessed by Rebeiro. Wah…..Indian Journalism at its pinnacle.

Lets come back to Ribeiro. He was Mumbai Commissioner in 1982 -85 and superannuated in 1987. So, evidenced by Rebeiro’s confession on Bollywood-Drugs nexus, it is apparent for anyone to dicern that it was common knowledge with top echelons of Mumbai Cops about Bollywood’s drug racket for so long, and this man happened to be not just ex. Mumbai Cop but a Self Imposed “Protector” of drugs syndicate in Bollywood that probably got him his fame as Top Cop from Lutyens. This is just ridiculous!!!

Lets draw our attention to Ribeiro’s another slanderous fakery on describing the causes of Godhra train carnage. In an interview to The Wire as late as June 2018, Ribeiro says thus on Godhra train killings: “On the day that Godhra happened, …………..There were, I’m told, 3-4 VHP karyakartas and one of them I think pulled the beard, of one of those vendors.  You see there is a community called the ghanchis who are on that station. …. ,and those are the ones who probably did that, I am almost sure, they did it because of revenge for having pulled that beard”. And this, after Nanavati Commission in 2008 and Special SIT Court in 2011 convicted people on planned conspiracy for Godhra train carnage. It was unimaginable for anyone who saw Julio Rebeiro as tough Police Officer whose role in the thick of Punjab insurgency earned him Padma Bhushan, to consume such fiction with alacrity.

And there seems to be no end for the machinations of Ribeiro. Given his track record of bigotry in recent years, as exposed above, it was so rich of him to insinuate legal action against a few, even as holding placards to certify as true patriots for others like Harsh Mander, Apoorvanand, who, some would contend as the usual suspects known as rabble rousers resorting to demogoguing with naxal persuasion, and to ask Delhi Police to leave them out in the investigations of Delhi riots. No Wonder……the post retirement co-option of this so called ‘Top Cop’ into Lutyens Cabal is complete.

It becomes absolutely clear that this Top Cops Label Affixation is a ‘Lutyens Organic Farming Business’, whereby they pick, seed and grow ‘Top Cops’ who come in handy to peddle their narratives. Just shudder to think, if not for internet and democratization of information, no one knows since when, this nautanki had been on, and if not for social media, for how long this ‘thought imperialism’ would have continued unabated.

Joe Biden is not Trump, Joe Biden might be worse than Trump

0

Democrats have a history of tall tales.

Dear America, I saw the Presidential Debate recently and was mortified to see what a tough choice you have ahead of you. The greatest democracy is going to polls, and you, my American friends have a difficult choice to make.

As an Indian, I empathize with you because we have been in a similar, or in fact a worse condition for nearly 67 years. We had to choose between a highly corrupt dynasty run party and a party that was projected as driven by fundamentalist ideology. The corrupt party looted us while playing on our emotions of equality, secularism etc. till we eventually understood the lies they had been feeding us. We found a true peoples’ leader and are rebuilding our nation since 2014. But for you it looks like a distant future…I am not fan of Trump. I was shocked when his sexist behavior and his lies came to fore. He is obnoxious in debates. I am appalled when I see some of his tweets and statements…what a contrast compared to the suave Obama, the impeccable Michelle, the “dignified” Clintons. We ROFL when we watch Trevor Noah shows making fun of “the orange man”. But elections are not a joke. You are going to choose your leader, and that is no laughing matter.

I had rejoiced with you when Obama had been elected to the chants of “Yes, we can”. I celebrated along with you when Bin Laden was killed. But later realized how we had been conned by the politician Obama again. Osama Bin Laden was killed in his magnificently built fortress in the Abottabad cantonment in Pakistan. I hope you know that cantonment area is the area in the city that houses the military. It is a high security zone that houses workplace as well as residences of military personnel. Building a high walled fortress in the middle of the cantonment and no one raising an eyebrow is just like having Saddam Hussain build his palace next to White House and the President feigning ignorance.

It does look like hell of a coincidence that for years democrat government kept pumping billions of dollars into Pakistan claiming those were for “the fight against terrorism”, when the world most wanted terrorist was living right under their protection in a military zone. And what could be a bigger coincidence that he was finally “found” and shot dead just before Obama’s reelection bid…People like Obama, Joe Biden can sure tell a good story. The tragedy is that it is nothing more than a good story — in fact, a tale of fiction but it still sounds better to those who see Trump as a buffoon.

If Joe Biden is elected, he will continue the path laid out by Obama — he will bow to the Chinese, he will nurture rogue nations like Pakistan and he will use your tax money to interfere in matters he has neither any idea about nor any business. He has all but made it clear by his constant glorification of China — What he forgot to mention is that China is as far removed from democracy as he is from reality.

Persecution of anyone based on religion, race or region is wrong. But see what your flag bearer of non-discrimination and inclusivity did? He opposed India when India chose to give refuge to persecuted minorities from the neighboring countries. He opposed when India ended the discrimination against the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh by abrogating article 370 and allowing them equal rights under the Indian constitution, a fundamental right that had been denied to them since over 70 years. Why does Joe Biden interfere in matters he is clueless about?

It is not possible to preach one thing to your people and to practice the opposite. Dual faced leaders are bad for America and bad for the world. He and his ilk denounce Trump’s ideas about raising a wall on the Mexican border, but they shamelessly interfere when India open’s up her heart to give refuge to persecuted minorities from neighboring countries? Do you see the irony of their actions?

Joe Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris had almost disowned her ethnic identity and distanced herself from Indian roots all these years. But now, we suddenly find stories of her “eating Sambhar” and “taking long walks with her Indian grandparents”, because she needs votes of Indian origin American voters. Wow, that’s some combination — a clueless man and a woman with identity crisis. A man who belongs to the elitist coterie that will use American taxpayers’ money to fuel terrorism in other countries and a woman who can disown her ethnic identity — and they are expected to bring in inclusivity to American society?

They talk about supporting minorities, supporting Muslims, supporting the oppressed — but I have not seen them calling out China. China is the biggest oppressor of its people, a country far far removed from anything to do with freedom and democracy, the only country in the world that continues to massacre millions of Muslims in Uyghurs, the country which exported the lethal Coronavirus and brought the world to a standstill. But Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will ignore the Chinese past as well as present, and call it their ally. Why? What is their agenda?

The world is particularly fragile right now and needs a leader who stops appeasing oppressors and terrorist nations like China and Pakistan. A leader like Joe Biden who refuses to stand up for America and the world against the devious designs of China and Pakistan, is the last leader any country in the world can afford. If these are the kind of people you are looking at as saviours from “White Supremacy”, “Racism” and whatever other -isms, then I urge you to scrutinize their track record before you fall for their propaganda. Because they are a party to creating these -isms and building a fractured, conflict torn world. They play on your fears, manipulate you with a false sense of alarm about fundamental rights and equality. They coin new terms to push their agenda, create fictitious villains, often nurturing them like they nurtured Pakistan for harboring Osama Bin Laden all these years. Make sure you see what they are doing to you…

My American friends, choose wisely. Make sure you look beyond rhetoric and see the facts for yourself. When you vote, remember people like me — living far apart from you, in a place that’s messed up because someone like Joe Biden fed you stories of being against “some” supremacy, while funding terrorists to destroy our homes and our peace. When you vote, remember that if you say you want to leave a better world for your children, you cannot do that by living two different stories — one about equality and peace for people within America, and another where the leaders you elect wreck other people’s homes through covertly sponsored terrorism and ill-informed policies. When you vote, remember the difference between what your liberal politicians told you and what they actually did.

Remember, that if the only reason they ask for your vote is because “Joe Biden is not Trump”, you will need to look deeper. Because Joe Biden might just be worse than Trump.

Looking back at ‘anti-CAA agitation’ after ten months

Zoe Osborne and Hannah Ellis-Petersen wrote an article entitled “Is India going to lose its soul?” in ‘The Observer’ during December 2019 in support of Anti-CAA agitation and reminded India’s BJP government about Gandhi’s ‘idea of India’.

The Citizenship Amendment Act or CAA 2019 of India had nothing to do with Indian Muslims, repeat, Indian Muslims. Like all other countries, India enacted its own Citizenship Laws in 1955. The CAA 2019 had only eased the citizenship procedure for the six persecuted religious minorities from three neighboring Islamic/ Muslim countries of India, namely Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

CAA had addressed the issue of ‘Human Rights and Dignity’ of six non-Muslim minorities from those three Islamic / Muslim countries. CAA was for giving citizenship to the refugees who had fled from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan for religious persecution. CAA had no provision to take away citizenship from any Indian, least to speak of Indian Muslims.

CAA had not prevented the normal ways of getting Indian citizenship by non-Indians, including Muslims from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. In past five years more than 300 Pakistanis were given Indian citizenship. Prominent among them were singer Adnan Sami and actress Salma Aga.

In the question of agitation against CAA, which was also violent in many places of India, it was interesting to note that the agitators had no idea about CAA. This fact was observed during agitation when they were asked as to why and what for they were agitating. The main standard reply was “CAA is anti-Muslim”. But none could explain as to how it was anti-Muslim. A few agitators even parroted words like ‘democracy is in danger’, ‘secularism is in danger’, ‘constitution is violated’, and ‘Indian inclusiveness is gone’ etc. etc. without proving anyone.

Some agitators, on the other hand, had read too much between the lines of CAA and asked why Ahmediya, Shia and Hazara were excluded from CAA? That way the list would have gone on and on without any end like, inclusion of Rohingyas of Myanmar, Tamils of Sri Lanka, Yazidis of Iraq and Syria, Christians of Egypt and so on and so forth. Article 14 of Indian Constitution required “reasonable classification” and CAA had satisfied that provision of Constitution.

The much publicized ‘Shaheen Bagh’ protest in Delhi against CAA from December 2019 to March 2020 was Islamic in nature and content. It had the support of Congress, Communists, and so called Secular and Liberal gangs of India. Their intention was to destabilize BJP government of Modi. Popular Front of India (PFI), which was an Islamic terrorist organization, led the agitation from its head quarters in Shaheen Bagh.

Many right wing Indian Hindus wondered about absolute absence of such liberty for Hindus in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to publicly agitate for the cause of Hindus. That differential liberty in South East Asia was troubling them. International media, under the influence of Islamists and Leftists, glorified Shaheen Bagh simply to defame India.

In a recent judgment on Shaheen Bagh, Indian Supreme Court has ruled that showing protest against government was Fundamental Right, but not Absolute Right and common public could not be disturbed by blocking road for months together in the name of protest as was done in Shaheen Bagh.

During 2003, Congress leader Manmohan Singh, who was PM of India from 2004 to 2014, had urged upon the then BJP government of India to help the persecuted Hindus from Bangladesh. Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, then the lone MP from her party, also wanted a discussion in Parliament in 2005 on Bangladeshi infiltrators. And on being denied, she threw papers on Deputy Speaker of Parliament and publicly cried which demonstrated her frustration of that time.

So far Gandhi was concerned, it was to say with great regret that Gandhi had been used, overused and misused by anybody and everybody. In his Delhi Diary, Gandhi on 26 September 1947 said on fall out of partition “To secure justice for the Hindus and Sikhs was the function of the Government.” CAA 2019 reiterated what Gandhi wanted.

About the core question of the said article in The Observer on ‘soul of India’, no Indian right wing Hindu could tell anything for sure. The population of Muslims in India had increased from 9.8% in 1951 to about 18% in 2018. On the other hand, Hindu population in Pakistan and Bangladesh had been decreasing sharply. That differential situation was surely not good for future ‘soul’ of India.

Indian Muslim leaders and clerics never came forward in last seven decades to disown publicly the Islamic concepts of Kafir, Jihad, Dar al-Islam, and Ghazwa-e-Hind in the name of ‘Secular India, ‘Inclusive India’ and its ‘Soul’. They, on the contrary, remained silent on those burning issues. Indian Muslims never protested against persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. They were concerned only with Palestine and Rohingyas. They were also tactically fixed with ‘Babri mosque’ and ‘Gujarat’ with a memory loss about thousand such atrocities against non-Muslims and their religious places in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Another catchword for Indian Muslims was ‘Lynching’. If religious profiling of rapists and murderers and their victims in India was done, the cat would be out of bag.

A large group of Right wing Indian Hindus argued that when Muslims refused to live with Kafir Hindus and made Islamic Pakistan in 1947 and Bangladesh in 1971, why their descendants should be allowed to illegally infiltrate India in millions? They should be happy in their Islamic Pakistan and Muslim Bangladesh.

The question of ‘soul of India’ is in the court of Indian Muslims and the core question (“Is India going to lose its soul?”) should be directed towards them alone. Tens of millions of Indian Hindus are against Hindu Rashtra, that is, Hindu Nation. But only the Muslims of India can prevent the slide of the country towards a ‘Hindu Rashtra’.

Indian Muslims need to forgo Muslim Personal Laws, their exclusiveness, sense of entitlement, glorification of cruel Muslim invaders and rulers, mind set of Ummah, and other discriminatory Islamic concepts for the sake of their Indian identity and integrate with India with heart and soul to sustain the “soul” of India. If Muslims in India in particular and South East Asia in general continue to practice “heads I win, tails you lose”, soul of India will be determined by right wing Indian Hindus in coming days!

Constitutional threat to secularism in India

0

In 1948 KT Shah advocated the admission of secular, socialist and federal words in Indian Preamble which in response Dr B.R Ambedkar replied “Puting Socialist words in the Constitution will restrict future policy makers in choosing a better social economic policy like capitalism and others.

During this time When Soviets advocating more and more socialist states if we adopt socialist word in preamble it will send a negative message to the world the we are on the side on Soviets which will affect our relationship with Western Europe especially America”, Directive Principle Of State policy already has the similar characteristics which Socialism advocate in this case adding Socialist word is just extra unnecessary work.

The Constituent Assembly wanted to create a secular state but concerned about the type of secularism if we insert it in the Constitution due to the fact secularism has different meanings and understanding across borders like in France Secularism restricts the aspects of religion while the US Constitution allows free expression of Religion.

In 1976 Swaran Singh committee recommendations were implemented by the Indira Government which was not yet challenged with full motivation.

If we look the legality of secular and socialist words in terms of constitution and constitution related cases we find that in two scenarios- 42th amendment in which secular and socialist words in preamble can legally be challenged.

Keshvananda Bharti case

Supreme Court said in the feature of Constitution that “Protect the Secular value of Constitution” As we all know the word Socialist, Secular introduced in preamble in 1975 on that basis it can be challenged in court that “The removal of Secular word from Constitution doesn’t affect the secular value of Constitution due to the fact in 1973 Supreme Court already said Our Constitution is Secular and adding a word isn’t worth it.”

This words introduced during that time when Constitution was suspended, any amendment between that time period is unconstitutional due to the fact Indira Gandhi wasn’t a Prime Minister during that time as per Allahabad court who said “She has to resign”.

This arguments are capable to illustration that the introduction of secular word was unnecessary and unconstitutional.

Republic Vs Lutyens Media: Why Arnab is winning

0

Gone are the days when people simply believed what has been published in English media was right. Youngsters considered reading English newspapers gave them respect. Some even went to the extent of analysing articles appeared in English newspapers for preparing for civil services exams.

The far-left editors pushed their agenda with selective, biased reporting and motivated editorials. Readers’ views were continually ignored, and only the letters that supported the editorial line of the newspaper got published. Helpless readers were left with little or no option as the mainstream media is dominated by these so called “left liberals”. There is an army of left-wing journalists out there, and even if a media owner wanted a different line, it was almost impossible to get that published.

Corrupt journalists then found further opportunities by aligning with corrupt politicians and anti-India forces, almost blackmailing the governments to toe their line, otherwise they would spread misinformation and incite violence across the country. Sadly, the vulnerable sections of the society and radical elements in the minority communities were more than willing to be influenced by the corrupt politicians and the venomous minded journalists.

Social media, YouTube, fact checking news portals like Opindia and open forums changed all this.

Those who felt their voice that do not get published in a mainstream media, went to social media, and suddenly the mainstream media mafia found a formidable challenge from social media. Left wing motivated narrative were strongly opposed by social media posts. The mainstream media mafia editors, who almost considered themselves as super kings found their power diminishing fast.

Far-left liberal, pro-corrupt narratives were always against the popular mood. But when there was no other alternative, people had to put up with this. Arnab Goswami saw this clearly and started an independent media channel to represent people’s voice. Arnab Goswami’s Republic is the first TV to come into the mainstream space and became extremely popular and became No.1.

Republic TV is No.1 because common man finds his voice represented by Republic. A quick look at the Live TV watching statistics will show Republic has far more viewers than any other channel. Not only did the left-liberals completely lost their credibility, they also lost their advertisement revenues because there are no takers for their narratives. So, some news channels tried to tweak the TRP through mischievous ways, at the same foisted false cases against Republic. This is almost like a thief with the fear of getting caught calling another as thief.

When the false cases were foisted against the Republic, and almost the entire mainstream media mafia went against Republic, people see this as complete vendetta. Even a few who watched other TVs have now unsubscribed and are watching Republic, showing their solidarity. If any, Republic’s popularity has soared after the fake cases. Now we see that the Maharashtra politicians have become so desperate that they seem to further intimidate Arnab to push him to “suicide”. The whole nation is extremely shocked and angry. This is only going to push Republic TV even more popular.

Arnab is winning, because all those ganged up against him have little or no credibility.
