2012 में मुलायम ने चुनाव जीतकर अखिलेश को मुख्यमंत्री पद दे दिया था। उसके बाद धुआंधार तरीके से बैक-टू-बैक तीन चुनाव अखिलेश ने अकेले दम पर हारे हैं। ये अलग बात है कि इस बात का कभी घमंड नहीं किया।
