The usage of the term Ahimsa Parom Dharma (originated from Mahabharat) in the context of Indian freedom struggle is the greatest Gandhian distortion and deception of twentieth century India.
To call Gandhiji as the Father of the Nation is inappropriate. No man deserves that divine title. Gandhi was one of the many greats who shaped our country’s destiny.
While most claim that it was the nonviolent movement propagated by Mahatma Gandhi that led to this success, I want to advocate for the importance of the pressure created by more aggressive actions taken by leaders like Subash Chandra Bose.
