समानता का नारा देकर नारी को पुरुष के स्तर पर लाने का प्रयास इस देश में वैसे ही है जैसे बड़ी लकीर को मिटाकर छोटी के बराबर कर देना। भारत में जहाँ नारी को स्वयंवर तक की स्वतंत्रता रही हो वहाँ स्वतंत्रता, समानता का नारा देना उसके महत्त्व को कमतर करने का ही दुस्साहस कहा जा सकता है।
