Emergency 1975

As we pray to God to provide Moksha to the revered saint Kesavananda Bharti; we, the Indian citizens, must be thankful to him for moving the writ petition of fundamental Right in Supreme Court, just at the age of 30, under the guidance Legal Luminary Nani Palkhiwala.

संविधान के विधातांओ ने जिस "secular" शब्द को प्रस्तावना में ना होने के लिए सांसद में पूरी शक्ति लगायी थी उसी सांसद में तीन दशकों के बाद "secular" शब्द को प्रस्तावना में डालकर संविधान के विधातांओ का मज़ाक बनाया गया था.

24 जून को और 25 जून 1975 को देशभर में इंदिरा गांधी ने आपातकाल की घोषणा कर दी। देश के इतिहास में यह अबतक का सबसे कठोर निर्णयों में सबसे ऊपर था।

आपने इतिहास की किताबों में लार्ड लिटन के तुगलकी फरमान वर्नाक्यूलर प्रेस एक्ट के बारे में सुना होगा. उस एक्ट के बाद पहली बार ऐसा अकस्मात आदेश आया जब अखबारों को कुछ भी छापने से पहले अनुमति लेनी थी. कई अखबारों ने इस शक्ति के सम्मुख घुटने टेकने बेहतर, बंद होना सही समझा.

जिस आज़ादी के लिए असंख्य देशभक्तों ने अपना सर्वस्व बलिदान दिया, अमानवीय यातनाएं झेली, उस आज़ादी को इंदिरा गांधी ने पिंजरे में कैद कर लिया। जिस संविधान की शपथ लेकर श्रीमती गांधी सिंघसनस्पद हुई थी, सिंहासन बचाए रखने के लिए उसी संविधान पर ताला लगा दिया।
