Link between cross pathy and present day AYUSH education

0

There is a strong link between the way AYUSH education is managed today and the rampant cross pathy by several institutionally qualified AYUSH vaidyas in private practice in India.

In olden days, the son or daughter of a village Vaidya would spent their life with their father, assist him, observe the way he diagnose and treat patients, the way he prepare AYUSH recipes, the instructions he offers to the patient, the confidence that he infuse upon the patient and his or her family members, the special spiritual rituals advised to follow etc., and that how the next generation has learned AYUSH. With time the son or daughter would get inspired by the vaidya father and would decide to take over the legacy with passion, commitment to service the community, desire to take up the traditional way of holistic healing practice and love for Siddha/Ayurveda paramedical health practice. That is how both Siddha and Ayurveda have continuously grown in the past, newer and newer recipes were added into the kitty. But post-independence the scenario got changed totally.

The AYUSH experts wanted the government to adopt western style of educational system for AYUSH through cut/copy and paste the method/style of MBBS education system. This method has cut the very root of AYUSH culture and its sacredness and alienated the ever growing AYUSH and the intuition of the vaidya to institution from experience and observation and reduced the system to the recipes of several herbal, mineral, toxic metal and their combinations.

Even the fundamentals of AYUSH such as Tridosha and eight types of diagnosis along with taste parameters etc., most of the present generation AYUSH vaidyas are not using or are not well versed with.

Contrary to the traditional vaidyas, the most of the present day institutionally qualified AYUSH vaidyas have chosen either Siddha or Ayurveda mostly because they could not secure admission for MBBS course. In order to fulfil the unmet desire to become a doctor, they have chosen AYUSH course.  When we produce such vaidyas through institution naturally they will be interested only to fulfill their inner desire to act like a doctor and that is why most of the AYUSH vaidyas in private practice have neglected the subject that they have studied for 5 or more years and find fancy to use stethoscope, BP apparatus etc., and engage in rampant cross pathy.

Our present day style of AYUSH education has produced large number of AYUSH vaidyas without any passion or interest or expertise in AYUSH but with the title ‘doctor’ many institutionally qualified vaidyas in private practice amok the health care system and obliterate the essence of AYUSH through cross pathy.

Several Siddha vaidyas in private practice in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu through cross pathy have destroyed the relevance of the system.

AYUSH vaidyas need commitment and passion for humanity, AYUSH vaidyas need sense of responsibility and divine faith, AYUSH vaidyas must focus on promoting wellness and paramedical benefit through AYUSH recipes instead of attempting to imitate like MBBS doctor through cross pathy.

AYUSH education must be re-structured and those who join for the course must be trained in traditional line of thinking and not in modern line of thinking to understand the sacredness of AYUSH.

Siddha and Ayurveda are way of life and not medical science. Therefore the paramedical benefits of AYUSH must be fortified and AYUSH vaidyas in private practice must be engaged for various paramedical therapies and allied health care awareness and delivery programmes. Village level health and hygiene awareness sensitization programme must be initiated regularly and the local AYUSH vaidyas in private practice can be engaged for achieving such tasks.

Cross pathy must be dealt severely and only when cross pathy is stopped by a strong law, AYUSH become relevant and useful to humanity. Otherwise some AYUSH vaidyas in private practice would treat patients with acetaminophen and antibiotics and simultaneously talk so great about AYUSH to the patient proving nothing but hypocrisy and lie. Several patients who have undergone treatment with some Siddha vaidyas have started to disbelief siddha products when the siddha vaidya prescribed proven antidiabetic drugs of allopathic system. Cross pathy has made unnecessary comparison between allopathic drugs and Siddha recipes. Siddha recipes are meant for offering wellness and paramedical benefit and are different from allopathic drugs. But the use of AYUSH as burka to practice allopathy has eroded the credibility of AYUSH.

Although changing the educational system of AYUSH may be futuristic but unless harsh law is enacted to punish all those offenders who engage in cross pathy, we cannot make AYUSH promotion meaningful. The Ministry of AYUSH shall remain only as sixth finger with no impact or contribution. Cross pathy should not be allowed to destroy AYUSH tradition in India. AYUSH way of life, India must re-invent soon.

Why Rahul Gandhi has got his Telangana strategies wrong

0

The Mahakutami (the Congress plus Telugu Desam Party – TDP plus Prof Kodandaram’s TJS) that are fighting for the Telangana state assembly elections to be held on 7th of this month, December are likely to meet a Maha flop, now that, their true colors are manifested in their pro-Muslim manifesto released a few days ago (for the electoral enticement) ignoring all other Hindus in the state. The manifesto was telecast by all national news channels to the surprise of the majorities.

It’s a known fact that the Mahakutami trio (with the Congress being the principal party in it) are known for their Muslim appeasement and they are all still under the delusion that their minority pandering garners votes. They’re caught unawares being still in pre-Modi era.

In the whole process Rahul Gandhi proved to be a leopard that cannot change it’s spots. He felt that his temple hopping would work in the North and his minority appeasement in the South. His calculations may fall flat on his face for the simple reason, now, the whole of India knows what the Congress is and where to turn to for shelter. It directly fortifies the BJP voters.

The AICC president is so naïve to think that his party, the Congress, can outsmart the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) in appeasing the Muslim minorities. No way it’s possible. The Muslims of Telangana have been in K Chandrasekhar Rao’s kitty with his promise of 12% Muslim-reservation in the state and also by the solid backing of Assaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM to the TRS.

This step of mollycoddling of Muslims by the Congress and TRS may turn the tide for the BJP for inching towards the power. The BJP national President Shri Amit Shah has grasped this well. So time and again, Shri Shah has reminded the people of Telangana to come out of Nizam’s rule. He also said, TRS and the Congress bow down to Owaisi brothers, only the BJP could face them squarely.

All the above told, is one huge folly committed by the Congress, the other act that hurts immensely the Congress is the appointment of the former MP Mohammed Azharuddin, the working president of the Congress party in Telangana days ahead of assembly elections in the southern state by Shri Rahul Gandhi.

Azharuddin is eyeing for contesting Secunderabad M.P seat with the Congress ticket. Another Congress person from the majority community who nurtured the same ambition for so long to contest for the seat has angrily opposed this in public sometime back. It’s not understandable why the Congress now made Azharuddin the President of Telangana Congress and why Azharuddin wants to stand for Secunderabad seat instead of the Hyderabad seat where the Muslims are in the majority and he could fight with Asaduddin Owaisi and win the prestigious seat for his party , the Congress.

Assaduddin Owaisi has been throwing an open challenge to Rahul Gandhi to contest with him in Hyderabad to win. Always the Congress and the TDP put up weak candidates against big brother Owasi in Hyderabad. Should we presume the secularism practiced by them demands that?

The Congress President Rahul Gandhi also cleared some fresh appointments in the Telangana Pradesh Congress, approving the names of two vice presidents – B M Vinod Kumar and Jaffer Javed, eight new general secretaries and four secretaries in the state unit. Shri Rahul Gandhi in his wisdom named two Muslims in the President and Vice-President ranks. They automatically become the highest decision makers.

The rest may contain some members from the majority community who may not have a voice. The other members from the majority community are invariably sub-ordinate to their President and Vice-president who are from minority community. The so-called secular media doesn’t question this. This is all in the name of secularism! When the BJP fields less Muslim candidates, it questions.

Shri Azharuddin is an import to Hyderabad. He spent most of his time in the north India and fought electoral battles from there. He became a Member of Parliament on the Congress ticket from Uttar Pradesh. Though known as a cricketer all over India, had to quit it ignominiously in a match-fixing case. He used infamously his minority-card for a cover up. This man doesn’t want to contest against another minority religious co-brother from the Hyderabad constituency.

Secunderabad is the bastion of the BJP for a long time. And the present M.P Shri Bandaru Dattatreya won from it for several times. This time round, if the Congress, in the form of Mahakutami fields Azharuddin as their candidate (for sure it does) from Secunderabad in 2019 Parliamentary elections, the BJP’s candidate should be Swami Paripoornanda as the constituency people revere him.

The nexus between the Congress-MIM,TRS-MIM should be broken and their hegemony shouldn’t be allowed to continue as it leads to chaos in the state of Telangana.

Mixing some food ingredients is dangerous to health so is Mahagathbandhan to India

0

It is always assumed that two edible food ingredients/items can be mixed and consumed for better health and taste. Imagine if the two food ingredients/items are good and healthy individually then most of would justify by assuming that mixing such food ingredient would offer great health. But such mixing can be dangerous and toxic to our health and that is what science has proved.

There are several such unholy combinations we can find in our cookery. The scientific reasons with experimental proofs are available in abundance for various food combinations, which show how dangerous or toxic they are to our health.

The point of the debate is not about the combination of several food ingredients or their toxic effects but to draw a similarity or threatening example from the above to present it to people of India to serve a warning that they must be extra-careful with their voting right and should not support the fringe political forces or Mahagathbandhan.

Every regional party may have their vote bank in the respective regions. This is like delicacy and caloric value of different food items like egg or bacon or juice or olive oil or nuts or pasta or tomato or yogurt or potato. But when some of these food items are mixed, the dish become harmful than healthy and similarly the Mahagathbandhan experiment is like mixing of two food items that are not supposed to be mixed together.

Apart from food, even all medicines don’t go well when mixed. If the contra indicated medicines are combined, it would only prove dangerous to the patient. In our context, if we elect all those opposing political forces to form a grand alliance just to grab power, it would be like giving a known contra indicated drugs to a patient. We may kill the patient and not save through such prescription.

Every Indian becomes a patient for 5 years after election is over, and become doctor again during election time. If people properly diagnose the problem of our country and give right medicament by electing a committed, honest, visionary leader, then India shall remain healthy and prosperous otherwise it would be like wrong diagnosis and wrong medicament that can only prove fatal to our nation.

Let us not go by the strength of certain regional forces in the respective regions when we elect a government to lead India. The regional forces mostly lack national vision and work more for their regional interest to retain the vote bank to remain in power.  The open admission of Dr Manmohan Singh about coalition compulsion and the scams like 2G, Adharsh, CWC that stink the dignity of our nation during UPA regime is the best example for how dangerous the multi-party government to India.

People must be extremely wise and cautious not to elect dynastic forces to breed corruption, sycophancy and nepotism.

Narendra Modi has raised the dignity and reputation of India at global level. He has changed the political discourse of India by bringing the agenda of development with sab ka vikas and not money and muscle power. He has injected nationalism and aspiration among people than false political promises or caste arithmetic.

India is marching ahead as developed nation, Indian is inch away from becoming economic superpower, Indian is close to achieve sab ka vikas and India is close to achieve universal development where man prosper economically, culturally and socially.  It is time to take the right food and prescribe the right medicine for 2019.

“You have lost a supporter” – An open letter to the #LGBQT+ community of India

0

Dear LGBQT+ community of India,

Hey! Recently, the Supreme Court of India decriminalized same sex relationships in India which made you all extremely happy and the social media platforms saw a lot of joyrides since then. People coming out of the closet and sharing their experiences and love for same sex was overwhelming.

Some of my friends belong to your community. I knew about them, well most of them. So overall, I stood by them silently and often supported them as well when required. Being a Hindu, I was always taught to let everyone live the way they want. Supporting your wish of being with the same sex partner was part of what I was taught from the very beginning.

In the last few weeks, it was however very unfortunate to see how deeply leftist propagandist voices have entered in your community. It breaks my heart when I see you all claiming to raise voice against so-called Islamophobia but promote Hinduphobia from the same platform.

Interestingly, one of the biggest Hindu organizations i.e. Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh or commonly known as RSS supported your community and extended their good wishes when the Supreme Court ruling came a couple of months ago. On the other hand, the Christian, as well as Islamic communities in India, opposed the decision. So when we Hindus are standing next to you in the thick and thin why so much hate for us?

The answer is pretty simple. The deep-rooted leftist or communist mindset among your community is not allowing you all to see how bad you treat us. The blindfold of hate for us has reached to the level where you are not even ready to acknowledge that majority of us have stood by you and even though faced opposition for supporting you all from our own families, we didn’t step back. At least I didn’t. At least till now.

Today, my friends, YOU HAVE LOST ONE MORE SUPPORTER and that is me.

Why? Because you have crossed all the limits by bringing some of the most sensitive topics in your pride parade that has recently held in Delhi.

Tell me what was the point of bringing Mandir in the pride parade? Did anyone stop you from entering a temple because you belong to the LGBTQ+ community? Does any temple speak anything against you?

Tell me, why was it important to shout against Sangh Pariwar while the organization supported your cause? Why was it so necessary to speak against Hinduism?

And in the end, please tell me why not “Smash Islamic Clerics” or “Smash Catholic Priests” who openly speak against you?

You know what? You are nothing but puppets in the hands of leftists who claim to support you and play with your emotions all the time. Now after you have taken this step, it seems you all do not deserve any support from us or at least me. Do you think one person taking back support won’t make any difference? Think again.

I was among those who tried to convince people to support you. I might have changed the mind of at least 50-70 people in the last few years to at least listen to you people and support you all as much as possible. I am one of them who dearly follow a lot of people from your community including the very charming Ellen Degeneres, Neil Patrick Harris, and many others. Why am I not taking names of the Indian celebs from your community? It is because you have completely ruined it today for them as well.

Just because you belong to a so-called minority community does not mean you have the right to say anything against rest of us. You, the members of LGBQT+ community have lost one supporter. Though my support for the Transgender community will remain the same because they deserve the rights but the rest of you don’t deserve any love or support because you have failed us.

Today you have shown us how thankless you people are. Today you have made sure that I never speak in favor of you any time in the future. Today, you have pushed me towards hate just like your leftists and communists counterparts.

In the end, I can only pray to Bhagwan Ram that you people get some wisdom in future and see the wolves in your community and realize you need to cut the chords with them before it’s too late. I hope it is not too late already.

Braminical patriarchy and Brahminism is real. Stop shielding it. Read to know

0

In his recent visit to India Twitter CEO, Jack ended himself in an unwanted controversy. While posing with some self-claimed activists, intellectuals and fake news peddlers, Jack posed with a poster with “Smash Brahminical Patriarchy” written over it.

Soon this picture was all over internet. Many Indians took strong offense to this statement saying that Patriarchy is patriarchy and there is nothing called Brahminical patriarchy. Many dared Jack to pose with similar posters about Abrahamic patriarchy, which is known for their historical figures and priests raping kids, and in modern times making sex slaves, Halala, Mutaah etc.

Having said that the questions raised by Indians about Jack’s casteist and bigoted poster is justified, I strongly believe that Brahmincal patriarchy is for real in India. By some examples I will try to tell the readers why I believe so.

All of us know that the Sanatan Dharma doesn’t further the birth-based caste system and hence any discrimination based on birth goes against Dharma. What Sanatan Dharma have is work-based Varna system, in which one has to attain a Varna and maintain the Varna, which is not simply awarded to you because you were born to certain parents.

Over ages, this work-based system got corrupted into birth-based, and many reasons can be given to this corruption. From greed to retain power withing a closed community to an Adharmic way of ensuring employment for everyone – one can give any reason. Whatever be the reason, it gave birth to lots of injustice and skewed balance of power.

Sadly, even in today’s time, at least legally caste is determined by birth. But the Hindu society progressively is making sure that the caste system becomes weak. For example Swami Ramdev, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Sadhvi Uma Bharati, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Yogi Adityanath and many are all born to non-Brahmin parents, but the Hindu society not only accepts them but respects them as Brahmins. There are many such examples.

Now this system doesn’t go well with some bigots, so they try to capture the positions of power using the surnames, and from those positions of power, they oppress weaker sections like tribal, women and economically weaker sections. They oppress and exploit these sections sexually, economically and socially. I will list out some names now who have indulged in sexually or otherwise exploiting women, teens and have faced no action because of their surnames which will prove my point that Brahminical patriarchy does exist.

1. Brajesh Kumar Pandey: Brajesh is a Bihari Brahmin, a Congress leader and brother of NDTV propagandist Ravish Kumar. Brajesh was accused molesting a Dalit girl and running sex racket. Brajesh and his brother Ravish using their Brahminical privileges not only blocked this news but even police feared in taking actions against this might rapist. As per reports, Brajesh was giving media bites and demanding narco test of the girl who accused him of molestation. If he was not a powerful Brahmin, he should have been in jail and not giving media bites.

2. Kanhaiya Kumar: Kanhaiya Kumar is communist student leader being promoted by left liberal cabal of the Indian media. He can always be seen on big television platforms. Actually he was promoted by the media houses in the first place. This blue eyed guy of Indian media was urinating in public when a girl had objected, then in return this person had flashed his genitals towards the girl, for which he was punished by the university. Kanhaiya Kumar is Bihar Bhumihar Brahmin. The Indian media, which is dominated by Brahminical molesters didn’t even cover this story, rather they happily invite this person on their platforms.

3. Varun Grover: Varun is not a Brahmin rather he a Kshatriya who enjoys almost similar privileges in caste based Indian society. Recently he was accused of molesting a Dalit girl during his college days at BHU. But Varun using his caste privileges tried to say that the girl is lying or the girl never existed. Earlier he himself ran a campaign that ‘trust the victim’, but in his case he went on defending himself without any credible proofs. The Indian liberal media quietly suppressed the allegations because the alleged molester happened to a Grover.

4. Vinod Dua: The caste of Vinod Dua is not known to the author, but he is certainly a representative a Brahminical patriarchy. He was accused of harassing and molesting a young journalist twice using his positions of power. Dua called the serious allegations as ‘keechad uchhalna’ and even his daughter, who became famous due to privilege of being born in an influential family, supported him. No action was taken against him, which shows the deep rooted Brahminical patriarchy.

5. Utsav Chakravarty/Tanmay Bhatt /AIB: AIB is a well-known semi-porn website which was founded by Tanmay bhatt and his team. A closes associate of Tanmay, Utsav was accused by many teens of molestation. Utsav is a Bengali Brahmin and Tanmay is also a Brahmin. Tanmay knew about pedophile behavior of Utsav and he kept working with him. Almost many members at AIB including Tanmay have said things that can be argued to be bordering mental illness of being pedophiles. But Tanmay and AIB enjoy huge support from Indian media because of their caste.

There are many more such examples from Bollywood, Indian Media, and Authors where the rapists and molesters which Brahmin surname have been shielded by their partners, I mentioned five from recent weeks just to keep the list short.

It is ironic that such people claim to be the voice of Dalits, oppressed, women etc. But these are only the cover, deep down they are all rapists, molesters or potential killers. They use these ideology of being feminist, socialist, liberal to lure young girls only to rape them later.

Bangladesh ceramics picks pace, gets duty-free access to EAEU countries

0

The South Asian nation expands its international presence in the Ceramics industry with increased exports and strong domestic output

In October, the maiden meeting of Bangladesh-Russia Intergovernmental Commission was organized. In the event, Bangladesh presented its proposal of increasing exports to the members of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), viz., Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. In retrospect, the event could also be considered as Bangladesh first major foray into EAEU’s ceramic industry.

Ceramic demands have seen a constant rise across the globe since the industry’s inception in 1958. According to Bangladesh Ceramics Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA), local industries produce almost 400 million ceramic pieces annually. “Bangladeshis have transformed their lifestyle over the years. For instance, tiles have almost completely replaced mosaic in households. The local demand for ceramics products is extremely high, which is being efficiently met by the country’s ceramics industry. In the near future, we hope to strengthen our stakes in the global export market,” added Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah, President of BCMEA.

The capitalization on available resources and the innate production ability by private players have also resulted in improved productivity and quality. For instance, Shinepukur, the ceramics arm of the Beximco Group already produces quality porcelain and bone china products which are exported to international markets. The reputation and market anchor set by Beximco also placed Bangladesh in a strategic position to expand globally in the ceramics sector. To meet the existing demand of export to countries like USA, European Union, Canada, Australia, India, Nepal, and the Middle East, ceramic giants like Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd., which is a wing of Beximco Group utilized the existing infrastructure to its maximum potential with future expansion plans.

Labor is one of the major reasons behind the 200% growth of Bangladesh ceramics in just five years. Despite being economical than most of the competitive countries, the quality has been equivalent to global leaders of the sector. With almost 80 manufacturers in the country, the sector is responsible for the employment of more than 5, 00,000 people.

Leading educational institutions have introduced glass engineering courses in order to encourage the people of Bangladesh to partake in maintaining the standards of manufacturing and delivery. While their craftsmanship has proved its mettle in multiple countries, visionary leaders like Salman F Rahman have set up factories in order to promote employment and good wages.

Salman F Rahman in particular has been instrumental in securing growth of this sector.
Foreign competitors are trying to work around the setback introduced by the global financial crisis. As the opportunity unravels itself, Bangladesh has the potential to become world leaders of ceramic exports, provided that the government and conglomerates continue their contribution towards the same.

Rahul Gandhi and Mani Shankar Iyer are two sides of the same coin – Know how

0

The recent revelation of the Gotra of Rahul Gandhi through a priest to highlight that Rahul Gandhi is a Brahmin by birth conveys nothing but he and Mani Shankar Iyer are just two sides of the same coin. Mani Shankar Iyer called PM Modi Neech by referring to the caste of Narendra Modi and such expression was like abuse of all those belong to backward community.

Mani Shankar Iyer dared to call the Prime Minister of India neech may be because of his superior thinking that he belongs to the community – Brahmin Iyer. The statement of Mani Shankar Iyer was very Brahmnical in nature. Today the dynast is also doing the same but in a subtle way. He is promoting the politics of his Brahmnical origin, his Gotra etc., may be to show his superiority over Narendra Modi by caste and his dynasty as well. This perception only people of India are deriving from the on-going melodrama of dynast proving that he belongs to Brahmin caste and his gotra is ‘Dattatreya’.

The above political display looks like an attempt to tell people of India indirectly that the dynast belongs to Brahmin community, therefore he has the first right to rule the country whereas Narendra Modii is not a Brahmin. Honesty, commitment, vision etc., are the necessary qualifications of a leader and not Brahmin identity or Dattatreya Gotra.

The caste of Narendra Modi is sab ka vikas, his religion is development of India and his Gotra is Indian ethos.

It is so disgusting that a century old political party has reduced itself to the level of invoking Brahmin origin of its dynast, his gotra and create unnecessary rift in the society to display the superiority of certain castes and caste aspersion in the society. PM Modi on the other hand fights the election based on nationalism, agenda of development, sab ka vikas and not on caste or religion.

PM Modi proposes the idea of one India mainly to achieve total development of the country where India develops culturally as well as economically because Indian culture is based on relation centric and not power or materialistic in composition.

The development agenda of PM Modi is aimed to bring both responsibility and development of people in all frontiers of life as well as nation building. Political, social, ethical, family, moral and economic domains are given equal value in the agenda of development initiated by Narendra Modi. Modiji always invokes a casteless society, a society that is defined by the sacred Hindu culture, the spirit of spiritualism and values rooted in Indian ethos. He never entertains appeasement politics or politics of caste and religion or seeking endorsement from Church or ask to ensure 90% Muslim vote culture of dynast whereas the dynast is playing Brahmin identity card by stooping Indian politics to a shameful level.

Indians should recognize the dangerous politics being played by the dynast and must respect the importance of development and sab ka vikas agenda of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The efforts and initiatives taken by PM Modi in the last 4 years should not be wasted by electing an unstable government composed of selfish, greedy, corrupt political forces. India needs Narendra Modi in 2019 and beyond to make India a super power politically, socially, culturally and in economic frontier.

Cross pathy– The autoimmune disease of AYUSH, MoAyush must step in

0

Autoimmune diseases are extremely difficult to treat and at best they can only be managed.  When one suffer autoimmune diseases or disorder, the own defence system fights against own defence cells by recognising them as pathogen. It means own immunity instead of offering protection, harming the system.

If we stretch and extrapolate the above scientific facts to AYUSH, cross pathy by several institutionally qualified AYUSH vaidyas in private practice are the one virtually destroying the AYUSH like how the own immune cells destroy own system as in the case of autoimmune diseases.

The concept and philosophy of AYUSH is quite amazing and it cannot be compared or equated with science. Faith, spirituality and divinity are the pillars of AYUSH and not laboratory experiment or pharmacological studies or pharmacokinetic analysis. The ultimate spirit of AYUSH lies in faith and human relationship to support every individual to attain higher levels of consciousness.   AYUSH Vaidyas are supposed to have total wisdom of a psychologist, psychiatrist and anthropologist to understand the human mind and body. Further AYUSH Vaidyas act like the link or bridge between man and God to anchor human mind upon spirituality, self-discipline and happy at the being level.

The paramedical essentials of AYUSH are extremely relevant even today. AYUSH is the only health care philosophy in the world that tells to treat even food as medicine. 15,000 years ago, the human population was extremely less, the resources were abundant, mortality rate was high but still the eternal science called AYUSH warrant people to treat food as medicine. It means, AYUSH always want people not to become glutton, wants people to conserve the resources, want people to focus human relationship, peace, acceptance, moral values, spiritual values, self-discipline etc., to remain healthy and happy.

Today we are in great need of AYUSH paramedical service. Indian has about 8 lakh AYUSH vaidyas and if all of them engage in practicing own system than cross pathy, India will be the only country in the world to be healthy, happy and prosperous.

But several institutionally qualified AYUSH Vaidyas in private practice are acting like autoimmune disorder affecting the credibility and value of AYUSH by engaging in cross pathy. They promote a system that they have not studied, has limited value than the faith based healing practice that they were taught over 5 years or more.

On the contrary, many of our spiritual masters are inculcating spiritual values among people and are advising the present generation to follow certain recipes to remain healthy and thereby promoting AYUSH. But many institutionally qualified AYUSH Vaidyas are working against the system may be due to ignorance and or greed by engaging in cross pathy.

Narendra Modi as soon as become Prime Minister of India made an appeal in 2014 to all AYUSH Vaidyas to feel proud about own system and abstain from cross pathy.  PM Modi also created a separate ministry for AYUSH. But nothing has worked much to transform AYUSH or take AYUSH to the next level and obviously due to cross pathy by several institutionally qualified AYUSH Vaidyas in private practice.

Unless the cross pathy is dealt severely, we cannot either promote AYUSH or achieve total and complete health care where body and mind are taken together in the treatment process. The paramedical and pre-medical benefits of AYUSH India should not loose forever due to cross pathy.

Why elections in India are not completely democratic

0

Democracy is the only possible form of government considering the demographic and geographic dimensions of India. Elections and electoral process are the main democratic methods which explicitly indicate that a democracy is working. Elections indicate that the citizens are allowed to express their choice freely and are permitted to elect their representatives without any illegitimate influence and interference.

But, if it is indicated that undue influences are employed and uncalled for interferences are resorted to stage manage the results it means the elections are not entirely democratic and the democracy is not complete democracy. Whoever does so and whichever party is responsible for that the prognosis remains the same.

We cannot say that one party is legitimately authorized to manage the elections and elections results by resorting to unfair means and all the rest are prohibited to do so. In the same way we cannot single out a party and prohibit it from doing what all the rest are doing. Doing that has the potential of harming the hard earned democracy even more in the country.

It cannot be said that political parties should not try to influence the outcome of elections in their favor; they are there to do that only as long as they do it democratically and legitimately. But it is observed that the political parties of the country use undemocratic and at times illegitimate means to influence the outcome of the elections. And, power equations in the country change drastically owing to this undue influence and by the use of illegitimate means and methods in elections.

First major threat, and unfair means, which is used in elections without any check, and literally without any limits, is the use of disproportionately very higher amounts of money than is permissible in the statues of the country. Such humongous amounts of money are now involved in elections in India that it has rendered many genuine and sincere prospective candidates, for various posts of legislature in the federal structure, simply unable to fight the elections. Howsoever, capable these candidates may be, howsoever concerned they may be about the plight of the poor people of the country and howsoever they may be craving to better the conditions of these people but they cannot do so. They cannot do so for the simple reason that they don’t have money. When they don’t have money they are out of the race. Getting elected is a herculean task for those money-less candidates who somehow manage to file their nomination papers.

Legally or illegally money is involved in every step of elections, from distribution of tickets to influencing the behaviour of the voters to in the formation of the government money is used everywhere. Political parties, it has been viewed, distribute tickets to only those people who are ready to pay a cost for the tickets. Those who don’t pay any charge are not considered.
In preparation of elections manifestos, in media and social media campaigns, in arranging and organising election rallies and congregations and even in buying the voters, money is used. Those who are able to spend more money in these things and activities have the sure chances of getting through.

The involvement of money beyond the permissible limits is an open but hidden secret (hidden secret equals to secret). It is open secret because all know that illegal money change hands in elections for manipulating the elections, and electoral processes. And, it is a hidden secret for getting statistics of the same is difficult thing to do. The political parties provide no details of it and the details they give about the election expenditure are never of that money which is expended beyond the permissible levels.

Besides, money many other undue influences impact the election outcomes in India. They include the communalism and religious affiliations of the electorate. The political parties of the country never miss to exploit these issues and they craftily rake up the issues. Those things which are normal for a pluralistic society, like India, are tried to be exploited to make the electorate to show a particular pattern in their voting behaviour. In majority of the cases the political parties succeed in achieving what they intent to accomplish.

Caste issues are not left out, they too are exploited. A political party calculates the caste equation of a constituency or a state and the party support those castes only supporting which gives it the electoral gains. In the same manner it goes against those which opposing whom again is calculated in terms the electoral gains of that opposition.

The political parties blame each other for the pathetic plight of certain caste groups and try to take credit of the good work that has been done for the castes. The parties even go to the extent of creating inter caste rivalries to exploit the emotions and feelings of these people. Once the emotions and feelings are charged and ill will is generated, the political parties try to reap their benefits.

Poor people of the country who remain out of the memory lanes of the parties and politicians suddenly find their place there immediately before the elections. They are remembered afresh only to be forgotten again and all new promises are made with them. They are bombarded with the propaganda of these parties that they are rendered unable to think rationally that all the earlier made promises have not been kept.
In fact, it is the predicament of their poverty which prevents them to behave normally. In their hopes to get out of the predicament of poverty they believe the politicians whenever any promises are made with the poor. Eventually all the promises, previous and the new ones, prove as fake and farces.

Every issue that the political parties and politicians feel could give them electoral dividends is raised and raked up. All the issues which are less intense and less damaging are made more intense and more damaging during the election days. Communalism, casteism, poverty and other national issues are exploited to gain and maintain the power. If everything else fails, direct criminalization is used to intimidate the voters. For this criminals are even provided party tickets which have become a kind of precedent in the country.

Normally, people should have been allowed to act out of their own free will and choice; that is democratic. People should have been allowed to elect or reject the candidates based on their past performance and the sincerity of their promises. There should have been limit to the use of propaganda and money in the elections, and if the limit is there it should be kept, nobody should be allowed to go beyond the limit. Painfully, the conditions are such all the limits are crossed in the use of propaganda and money.

Moreover, all the political parties habitual of raking up the caste and communal issues during the times of elections should have been identified and punished, not only by the constitutional and law enforcement agencies of the country but also by the public. These agencies and the public must now act more wisely to make the country to move out of the current predicament of communalism, casteism, poverty, hunger and homelessness of the poor. Else elections will continue fall short of being democratic. That must not be an option now; maturity is the need of the time which all the concerned should display.

So what happens next at Sabarimala

0

By now most of us are familiar with the developments at the most famous and richest shrine in Kerala. There have been unprecedented developments in the last few weeks and even as you read this piece the standoff between the government of Kerala and the Ayyappa devotees who want to uphold the traditions at the hill shrine continues.

Among the thousand odd women who have registered for Darshan at Sabarimala, 3 of them have approached the Kerala High Court to request security for their visit to the temple. The Kerala govt has mentioned that it was contemplating having 2 or 3 days exclusively for the women devotees at Sabarimala, to keep the protesting devotees at bay. Things had spiraled out of control the last two times the hill shrine was opened post the Supreme Court verdict allowing women to enter the temple. More than a week after the temple has opened for the annual pilgrimage season, no woman in the 10-50 year bracket has been able to come for Darshan.

Most of the temples in Kerala are built as per the Tantra Shastra and the Tantri who installs the deity as per this automatically assumes the position of the Guru of the deity. He is the final word when it comes to the rituals at the temple. Various temples will have different regulations and rules as prescribed by the Tantri of that temple which the temple thereafter abides by. The Padmanabhaswamy Temple located in Thiruvananthapuram doesn’t allow a non-Hindu to enter and has a dress code. Similarly, the famous Guruvayoor temple also has similar restrictions and as does the thousands of temples across Kerala.

Every time there is a violation of the rituals associated with the temple a “Punyaham” ( purification rite) is performed. This may vary from temple to temple based on the rituals followed there. Apart from this a “Devaprasnam” (a ritual carried out to interpret the will of the gods) is also done at a later time. For example, in Guruvayoor when children urinate, someone vomits, spits, blood is spilt, or non-Hindus enter a Punyaham is done. I have myself encountered one such instance where in the midst of a Darshan at Guruvayoor, the inner sanctum had to be closed for a few hours because a child had urinated in the temple premises. The duration of the Punyaham again varies as per the remedial measures that is required. Very recently the Padmanabhaswamy Temple was closed on suspicion that non-Hindus had entered.

So, what happens next at Sabarimala is the big question. While the Supreme Court has granted permission for women of all ages to enter Sabarimala, it still goes against the ritual of the temple owing to the nature of the deity there who is a “Naishtika Brahmachari”. As per this the deity requires that he doesn’t come under contact, in any way  even visually  with women aged between 10 to 50. However as per the verdict women can now climb the divine 18 steps and enter the shrine for the Darshan. But interestingly they simultaneously would also be violating the temple ritual. As per the practice this would then end up in the temple being closed for the Punyham. How and when would depend purely on the Tantri. Each time the rituals are violated this would have to be then repeated.

The Supreme Court, the state government, police or the Travancore Devaswom Board (temple administration) have no authority over the rituals that are done at the temple. The decision of the Tantri is held sacrosanct here and unless he decides otherwise the process of women entering and the subsequent closing of the temple for Punyaham will continue leading to an impasse. Owing to the tense political situation at Sabrimala, the Tantri Kandaru Rajeevaru who is currently in charge has refused to comment on this though. Probably because the last time he spoke about closing the temple, it had angered the government.

Women Ayyappa devotees in the age group of 10-50 have all these years not been visiting, out of respect for the deity at Sabarimala who is a Naishtika Brahmachari. Someone who clearly understands the tradition would still refrain from coming here. Those who have in fact come this year have been a handful of women from other states who have come in without knowing this or journalists and activists who have taken this up as a challenge. Regardless of their background though, the law now permits them inside the shrine unless the review and writ petitions to be heard on 22nd January stays this verdict.

To a non-believer or an Atheist these rituals may sound funny or absurd and they would even question the logic behind this exercise. This would however bring us back to the question “If you don’t believe in a deity or the rituals of the temple, why would you want to visit it in the first place?”.
