No flippant questions on ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’

0

There has been a war of words going on, on Twitter about the spirited ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai (BMKJ)’ could be chanted within the hall of holy Parliament in the constitutionally secular Indian republic. It was questioned by a liberal journalist in the Liberal world to have arguments within their own fraternity and also on the outside. One woman editor of the most liberal news online portal that makes fervent appeal to its readers always to support the paper for its ‘great journalism’ by contribution in the form of money (not for ideas, opinions and write-ups, for, they themselves are the creators of their own stuff).

Arfa Khanum Sherwani @khanumarfa ‘senior’ Editor @the wire _in, Ex @rajyasabhatv @NDTV @satyamev Jayate #AMU Alumnus, Robert Bosch Media Ambassador to Germany, a Nehruvian with all these positions and tags as add-ons irresponsibly tweeted on 29th of December thus:
“ It is not a question of my religion but the religion of the state. The Constitution says India is a secular democratic republic. Why is it okay to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ in Parliament ? Why it goes without any scrutiny from even the liberal India is my worry as a patriotic Indian?”

@khanumarfa questioned liberal Indians (read the liberal Press and liberal journalists) to take up the issue that worries a Muslim like her, who is again according her own accord ‘patriotic’, to stand by her in not allowing Bharat Mata Ki Jai in the Parliament. All the liberal journalists have been in a fix. How to take up this challenge of a worrying woman senior editor who alone cannot combat her goal of banning the slogan and is seeking the fraternity’s support. They have no qualms of taking up all and sundry issues of Muslims. But this particular issue is a tricky one. If taken up, they themselves would be damned and thrashed. Liberal journalists have got the cheek to ask any leader to speak on any subject they raise. In this case most of them, Rajdeep, Sagarika, Shobha De kind snubbed the issue. For, they might have discussed in their club or pub if it’s worthy to promote. But on this they backed out. Otherwise, they are all duty bound to raise voice even on the most trivial issues connected to minorities.

Vir Sanghvi on the same day mildly queried her in his tweet:
“If your religion forbids you from accepting the notion of Bharatmata or singing Vandemataram, that’s fine. It’s your right in a secular country to reject that. But why pass judgment on those who believe in the idea of a motherland? And to call them communal devalues the term“ etc.

@khanumarfa didn’t relent, she continuously argued in her tweets that it was “communal”. Kavitha Krishnan, a passionate communist immediately jumped into the field and joined hands with @khanumarfa to tweet Bharat Mata Ki Jai to be communal. The renowned recipient of recent British award-journalist, Swathi Chaturvedi @bainjal could not keep quiet when such a raging battle of tweets are going on,on her pet project of baiting Sanghis! She was quick to jump her gun to silence fellow liberals specially the nosy Kavitha by tweeting that she didn’t want Sangh to occupy so much mind space.

In the entire saga on the Twitter about @khanumarfa is much ado about nothing. Being a senior editor @khanumarfa should know that the affairs of a secular republic (barring France) do not purely go by syntax but go by the spirit of the Constitution. Barack Hussein Obama of USA took oath of his Presidency on the Bible (though his middle name is Hussein). Even America is a large secular republic! It goes without saying, the majorities will always have their say in any country. That was precisely the reason why the Constitution of India has given special rights to minorities. You as a minority got your due.

It’s not good to raise impertinent questions. Already the majority community is aggrieved in the country for the special benefits and privileges like religious personal laws given to minorities by depriving them of theirs. If @khanumarfa is true to salt to this country she should let go things as they are in some cases. Bharat Mata Ki Jai intensifies and more vocally raised if she and her ilk question. Jai Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

#MeToo or Monkey’s Paw

0

One of my favorite stories is Monkey’s Paw. Most of you would have read the story. For those who have not, the brief story is as follows:

The story revolves a couple Mr. and Mrs. White, who have almost everything a normal couple would have. They are introduced to a mummified Monkey’s Paw who has the ability to grant three wishes, but with hellish consequences. They are warned to get rid of the paw, but despite the warnings of the hellish consequences, Mr. White wishes for an amount to make final mortgage payment of their house. The next day, their son dies in an accident and the couple gets exactly the same amount to enable them to make the final mortgage payment of their house. Subsequently Mrs. White wishes the son to be brought back from death and on seeing the mutilated face and ghostly features of the son from the window Mr. White makes final wish that he remains dead.

The story actually warns us against unbridled greed. It also tells us to realize what is most important in life. It questions our moral values. In the story the Whites had a pretty normal life, bordering on good. They had all their basic needs met. They just had a little mortgage left on the house, but wanting to pre-pone the repayment they lost their son. When they wished for money or subsequently the life back in their dead son, they had no inkling of the nightmares that awaited them. Their old age is filled with uncertainty as they lost the only earning member of the family. Akin to killing the goose that lays golden eggs in the greed to have more, but with even more horrific consequences.

Now coming to the whole #MeToo movement and the hellish consequences it would have for the femdom. The feminist movement started as a revolution for equality. But as every revolution has a tendency to descend into tyranny, feminism became a movement for female dominance. Forgotten were the laws of equality, fair chance and equal responsibilities. Feminazies started asking for compensation for deeds done by our ancestors and wanted the current generation of men to be tried for those atrocities committed by them. Trying to bring the dead back to resurrection. The consequences can only be bad.

In the beginning of the month I was in Bangalore, where I visited couple of old friends of mine, my mentor and few other renowned professionals. As they knew that I work for men’s rights so #MeToo also cropped up in our conversations. The fear was palpable. One of the top executives I met in Bangalore swore that he won’t hire any female employee anymore, but is frightened how to sack the existing ones. Another friend who is 5-6 years senior to me and was a staunch promoter of feminism and female equality till I met him a couple of years back, was grief stricken as one of his close friends was facing inquiry under POSH. With choicest expletives, he went on a long tirade against feminists, whereas my mentor was dismissive of the complete movement as that of fox saying grapes are sour.

I was reminded of a presentation I had given to one of the market associations in Delhi about Prevention of Women from Sexual Harassment at Workplace. The whole body unanimously said, if such laws exist and can be misused, it is better not to hire women.

And then there was this report from Wall Street Journal. Bloomberg very mildly put the same in four basic tenants or strategies by Wall Street for making “life even harder for women”:

  • No dinners with female colleagues.
  • Don’t sit next to them on flights
  • Book hotel rooms on different floors
  • Avoid one to one meetings

But the challenges for women is lot more deeper than these cosmetic steps men are taking to avoid being caught in #MeToo wave. Bloomberg rightly quoted in the end and I am reproducing the same verbatim here:

In this charged environment, the question is how the response to #MeToo might actually end up hurting women’s progress. Given the male dominance in Wall Street’s top jobs, one of the most pressing consequences for women is the loss of male mentors who can help them climb the ladder.

“There aren’t enough women in senior positions to bring along the next generation all by themselves,” said Lisa Kaufman, chief executive officer of LaSalle Securities. “Advancement typically requires that someone at a senior level knows your work, gives you opportunities and is willing to champion you within the firm. It’s hard for a relationship like that to develop if the senior person is unwilling to spend one-on-one time with a more junior person.”

And the article concludes that the Wall Street is soon going to be an all men’s club once again.

#MeToo started as a movement against female harassment. But public naming and shaming; which has curtailed many careers in India and abroad and more so when these women use shoot and scoot strategies and back out from lodging a formal complaint has brought the spell of Monkey’s Paw on the whole feminist movement.

Few things happened this month which could put things in better perspective. Shruti Hariharan, a south Indian movie star lamented that the offers for work has dried up since she tagged someone in #MeToo. On the other hand Sonu Nigam exonerated his peer Anu Malik asking for proof. Anu Malik on his own ventured into Marathi Music Industry, showing that offers to him has not dried up despite being named in #MeToo charade. A Genpect employee committed suicide and the lady in question and the whole ICC possibly would face a probe as to why he was suspended from his job pending inquiry, despite the Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act not warranting any such action. And 10 years after the incident, Tanushree Dutta who was on a holiday in India is back in USA after filing a police complaint. A whole political party is backing Nana Patekar in his fightback.

Things are changing in political arena too. Farooq Abdullah had to eat crow for stating that he is scared to hire female secretaries, but now Trump openly says that #MeToo makes him fear more for his sons than his daughters. Back home, Manohar Lal Khattar in a public rally tore into rape allegations stating that most of them are false. Two Member of Parliament attended seminar for National Commission for Men in Delhi and these men are not backing down from their stated position anymore.

The proverbial hellish consequence of the loose-cannon accusations on which the feminists are gloating would translate into fewer opportunities for women in workplaces. So when there won’t be any females at work place there won’t be any sexual harassment of women at workplace.

And where would all these educated women go? They would have to work in unorganized sectors where there is even less protection provided by law. Where the men are not so renowned that they fear a media backlash and where these women would have to face much more mortifying experience than a glare or two against whom they have any recourse. It is no secret that there is no dearth of failed or out of work actresses working in sex trade.

Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act provides for an equal punishment for false complaint, the movement is ready to get the same repealed and if that happens then it would be the final nail in the coffin for jobs for women in any organized sector. It would be the resurrection of dead son of Whites in the story and the feminists may have to demand a recall of legislation completely to bring women back in jobs.

It is for the intelligent women to rise and caution women against using #MeToo spell as a vendetta tool and a mean to settle personal scores.

Ex-soldiers’ role in de-radicalization of Kashmir

0

The uniformed soldier is unequipped, vulnerable and living in the Jurassic age as far as modern society is concerned. The serving officers and Jawans hardly get any idea whatsoever about deep functioning of the civil society from their fortified uniformed lives. A young man joining the services at the helm of his youth, even before undergoing the grinds of our civil society and understanding its prevailing undercurrents, becomes a Soldier. One got retired in the year 2012. It took me three years in the civil society to learn its ‘normal ways’. I think, up to some extent, every ex-serviceman will agree with me.

Question: Why does the counter redicalisation strategy necessitate deployment of Ex-servicemen?
Answer: A retired Fauji with his 15 to 20 years’ service to the Nation in ‘the Indian Armed Forces’ equipped with some years of post-retirement experience in our unforgiving civil society is our best bet for securing our backyard. (The other left out blocks).

Why only ex-servicemen? Other nationalistic groups too are in the foray.
Answer:
During their tenures in uniform and off it, the Ex-servicemen have demonstrated their true Indian Colours. They have proven their mettle during every natural calamity, every civil unrest and every war that this nation has fought. If we take the risk of deploying the rhetoric savvy Nationalistic groups, too early into the valley. It will not be a wise decision.

The Ex-servicemen are well versed with the policies and functioning of the Armed Forces thus the question of blue to blue kill doesn’t arise.

Ex-servicemen, because they know when to stop being aggressive, because we do not want to create another monster to curb a monster in the very beautiful valley of Kashmir.

Earlier Successful Examples of strategy of Placing of ex-servicemen to secure social and physical security

I shall be reminding ourselves and the government with some scintillating yet simple examples, how we have been securing our backyards:

After 1962 war with China and subsequent 1965 war with Pakistan made the Union government realise that there is an urgent need to address a strategic concern to secure and populate frontier areas with patriots. So as to put a stop to infiltration, aggression, espionage and other anti-national activities at borders. For the purpose, the government began running a scheme for rehabilitation of Ex-servicemen in the year 1969 under which 330-odd Ex-servicemen and their families were settled on the great Nicobar island of Campbell Bay.

The militarily sensitive and strategically important, Rann of Kutch which has seen aggressive Pakistani forays as a prelude to the war, is a barren region bordering Pakistan with human population less than that of cattle, the then Gujarat government had devised a strategic policy and invited ex-servicemen from Punjab and Haryana, largely Sikhs, to settle down here in the aftermath of the 1965 war with Pakistan.

Despite of the severe hardships and natural disasters such as earth quakes and tsunami, it is the ex-servicemen who have provided the necessary show of presence and intelligence in sparsely populated, sensitive and dangerous conflict zones as well as remote border areas and kept the Nationalistic favor high on agenda.

It was said at the height of militancy in Punjab, ‘you can only contain terror, but cannot stamp it out. The perpetuators of terror exploited fault lines of the society in Punjab as well as in Kashmir. Religion was used as a tool to motivate the alienated youth to self-destruct. Eventually, the secessionist movement in Punjab ran aground because it could not find support from the majority of the masses of which ex-servicemen were a large majority.

For my research on Kargil War I interviewed some war veterans each veteran uttered nearly the same words during the interview: “It pains so much, after the war that you are alive but have lost your brethren who have fought along with you.” “I wish, could have fought on and gave my life instead allowing them to evacuate me after I got injured.” “My kids are grown up and settled now, I once again wish to pledge my life to the nation.” I would also like to quote martyred Sepoy Aurangzeb’s father, Veteran Mohammad Hanif, “I am ready to die to unfurl Indian Flag in Kashmir Valley.”

The Indian Armed Forces are in themselves like a big neighborhood village where people from different walks of life are recruited and casted into patriotic mold. The forces have recruited foot soldiers, technocrats, engineers, teachers, religious preachers from Maulavi to Priest and the Pujari. They all retire at a very young age and become ex-servicemen. Why don’t we unleash these ex-servicemen as our extreme nationalist weapons against the religious extremists, separatists, Stone palters and the Jihadist perpetuators against whom the armed forces have no jurisdiction, by settling them in the five terror prone districts of the valley. The Kashmir riddle can be brought near solution once we are able to counter Jihadist and separatist propaganda with nationalist propaganda.

At present the only narrative coming out of the valley of Kashmir is the Pakistani propaganda narrative. The proxies of Pakistan are successful in selling the Azadi and Jihad to the world and the media. Pakistan is able to exert so much control over our people and our lands that we are seen in docks every now and then. The UNHRC reports, western media and Indian Liberals are playing the music Pakistan wants them to.

The ex-servicemen hold advantage in the situation as they have previous experience of the functions of the Indian Armed Forces and can carry out social balancing acts in tandem with the will and wish of the Government and the military. They hold the key to stability and safety of India from rouge adversaries and the enemies within. While fighting the terrorists in the Kashmir valley, we have left the social flank unguarded. The Pakistan proxies successfully made the Kashmiri Pandits leave the valley and thus succeeded in isolating the society, affiliated to the people of single religion, Islam.

The entry of ex-servicemen in the valley will definitely see resistance by the wahabi fanatics, there will be violent clashes and there will be deaths. Nevertheless, the battle hardened Retired Soldiers have time and again proven their mettle while in uniform and off it too. Mass migration of veterans in the five terrorism infested districts of the state of J& K can lead us towards bringing a permanent solution to the riddle of Kashmir. For a complete decontamination of the citadel of Kashmir from radical Islam and Azadi gang, These soldiers must be drafted into every organization of the state, every office, every private company, every newspaper, television channel, every government office panchayat everywhere. The 28 lakh strong belligerent ex-Army of soldiers will definitely bring back the heavens in Kashmir.

There are reports that Russians are using their ex-servicemen in Syria too.

The surgical strikes and Operation all out of the present Modi regime are considered as milestones in India’s modern Kashmir policy. The Modi government has shown the political will and therefore, there is no reason for Kashmir issue to linger on beyond next five years. It is just a matter of time before the ‘chakravyuha’ will be breached and smashed.

Jai Hind.

Opposition of BJP: In search of partners to loot

0

The tukde tukde gangs are creating high decibel noise in India by abusing India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and are also constantly engaged in spreading lies that India has been destroyed by him. From their point of view, PM Modi has destroyed the India that had favoured them and facilitated them to loot as Indians were then so innocent and gullible till 2014.

The India that had venerated the culture of dynasty, nepotism and the club of sycophants so gullible which Narendra Modi has destroyed and built a New India to achieve sab ka vikas. He made Indians to be aspirational and dream of New India than follow the dynast and be a mere sloganeer. When we take into account the amazing development that India has achieved under Prime Minister Modi, certainly he has changed India and according to tukde tukde gangs, their old India has been destroyed so the Tukde gangs cannot hereon fool Indians and loot the nation.

Although all these tukde gangs have different party names, ideologies and flags, but all of them are nothing but only the different organs or parts of the same body called destruction, negativism, nemesis, pessimism, culture of dynasty, loot and nepotism. Therefore destroying one organ or part of the body from Indian politics can only at best weaken but cannot result in creating a New India free of scams and corruptions. That is why PM Modi needs absolute majority to purify all political establishments of scams and nepotism. Only if Narendra Modi led BJP has absolute majority he can be politically decisive and firm in his actions and decisions otherwise it is not Narendra Modi, India will be the sufferer and big loser.

The question is why several tukde groups are running from pillar to post and talking about third front with congress or federal front without congress to oppose BJP? Some political party in down south has already identified itself with congress in its culture, character and behaviour therefore the party has proposed another dynast for the post of Prime Minister of India. While some other parties are seeing each other as own mirror image but were fighting with each other in the past.

What they appear to have discovered so common among them recently is the power. So long they were fighting for power to loot our nation. All those tukde tukde gangs want power to loot our nation so the common glue that can bind them together is power. Even though in such partnership venture, the profit margin may fall down, but still it is worth for them to align than having no opportunity to loot the nation. Further Narendra Modi is doing everything possible to prevent corruption and scams, he is waking up the people of India, making them responsible, inspiring them to see dream about a New India, empowering people in all walks of life.  All these transformational initiatives of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi have caused diarrhoea and dysentery to many tukde tukde gangs.

It is not going to be easy for the tukde tukde gangs to grab power if they fight alone and that is why they are aligning with each other to come to power. For power they are willing to scale down their profit because according to them shared chance to loot is better than no chance to loot the nation. Indians alone can save India and only if Indians pledge their unconditional support to Narendra Modi in 2019, India can be saved from all these tukde tukde gangs.

Broken bridges on the sea

It is a tale like no other. A voluminous poem of human endeavor, of emotion, of drama, pathos as part of human condition, a human story of tragedy and, of triumph. Generations of Indians have grown up with these tales, intertwined with their everyday life, drawing lessons, parallels, making an innocuous joke or just entertainment. There is something in the tale that is part of the very soul of Bharat. It is the Mahabharat.

But today, this and the other stories of Bharat are under attack. Not from some sword wielding, or Enfield rifle touting barbarian, but from those who are considered as the very keepers of societal knowledge and curators of that wealth, the academia. There have been persistent run downs, a questioning on the lines of historical “truth”, a search for the actual event that may or may not have happened, a reading devoid of the “Brahmanical corruption” of the text to come at some ‘unadulterated’ truth. The academia, driven largely by the Western origin field of study known as Indology, is relentless in this pursuit to separate “scientifically” supported claims from pseudoscientific chaff.

Now, let’s take a moment and dig deeper into the reasons behind it & why this is done. The field of Indology has it’s origins in the post “enlightenment”, Protestant Christian framework, operating in Europe at the time it came in contact with Bharat. Protestant Christianity was, in short, a revolt against the Catholic Church imposed era of terror, carried out by its agents in every town, the Catholic priest. The Protestant took upon himself to get rid of the priestly class standing between them and the scripture, and expunge it of all priestly corruption, anything that didn’t suit their then sensibilities. The Old Testament was accorded the status of sheer myth, and only the new testament, which they thought of as more accurately “historical” was given credence.

This intellectual framework was then applied in a wholesale manner to the Indian texts that these early Indologists accessed. The Brahmin- the priestly class here, became the agent of corruption, who had deformed the original poem with some expanded philosophical hocus pocus, which was essentially only a core war ballad of the great warring “Aryan” tribes. This western mind was also searching for its own long lost past, which they sought to recreate in the dusty hinterlands of India. In doing so, they completely disregarded the native tradition, the copious commentaries and understanding of these texts, the generations of collectively preserved information. Instead, the Indologist himself took upon this mantle of accessing the “scientific historical truth”, thus becoming the high priest standing between people and the text, himself.

But, they forgot to look at the source of their own authority when dissecting the texts. They took the meaning of the words from tradition, but not the accompanying explanation. How would you know what the text actually meant if not for the meaning conveyed by the Brahmin, but then turn around and deny the very tradition as source of valid truth? The Indologist thus became that, what it claimed to get rid off, the layer between the masses and the text. It denied the normal lay person the right to access his or her own text.

We need to take a step back here, and raise a few fundamental questions. Why do we do history? What is the purpose of the entire field of humanities? To what end, is the question. Is it not to learn something from the human experience to benefit the generation now? Here, Is it not about paying attention to what Krishna, for example, did or didn’t stood for, than the exact time he stood on the Kurukshetra. There is no scientific way of accessing the past – exactly how it happened, the way the Protestant padre would have it. It will always be an extrapolation of some version of the ‘truth’. And then whose truth, when even our very own reality is in question here?

The authors of the ancient Indian texts were very aware of these questions. The cardinal mistake that we make is that we tend to think that we are more intelligent than the very authors who composed the texts. Vyasa is the author of Mahabharat, but he is also the progenitor of both the central warring parties within the story itself! The author is aware from the very start of the trappings of history and historicity and is making no attempts to hide that. Infact, he consciously choses to not do that. Lav and Kush learn their father’s story within Ramayana from Valmiki, the author, and are in turn telling it in their father’s court as we, the audience/reader listen on.

“Itihas” is history, but it is history which transcends historicity. It is telling you the story and bothers you with the message, without falling into the trap of historicity from the start, a trap that history can never get out of. Perhaps it shows us the way we need to go in humanities. A step forward in this direction has been taken by two brilliant researchers, Vishwa Adluri and Joydeep Bagchee, whose very well researched book ‘The Nay Science’ dealt a devastating blow to the field of Indology, and indeed is revolutionary for humanities itself, and they have followed it up with ‘Philology and criticism’, and are a personal inspiration.

It is a shame that we, the people, and our academia has internalized this essentially flawed pursuit of Indology, and we are all over the place like a headless chicken, digging grounds to find a horse or a crown to access our own text in a meaningful way, looking for some amorphous validation in some broken bridges on the sea.

Federalism Propaganda- Exposed

0

When GST was implemented w.e.f 1st July 2017, main criticism was that it ignored federal structure of the nation. As mentioned in the Constitution Bharat shall be union of states and India is Federal in structure and Unitary in nature unlike UK and US which are Unitary and Federal respectively.

India is Unitary as there is single Constitution, integrated judiciary, .single citizenship, single election commission etc. India is federal as there is both central and state governments, three lists (Central, State and concurrent) etc. The problem is not with either GST or federal system but with double standards.

The real threat to federalism is with special status to certain state, at present demand by TDP is burning issue. Ok, it’s because of partition of Andhra and Telangana. But when Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand were created, neither new states nor the state from which partition took palce, asked for special status! Moreover when one state demand for special status 10 more states stand in the queue which is cumbersome to handle.

Another issue is that harms federalism is inter-territorial divide. Recently new chief Minister of M.P urged neither people from Bihar nor from U.P. should be given employment and Madhya Pradesh is only for citizens of itself. It is disastrous for federal set up of the country.

The another problem creeps me during formation of financial commission. Larger states claim theirs is the more tax paying  state and hence they need more sanctions! But when more food producing states put forth the above theory, what will be the consequence!? But in case of reservation the story of weak child is put forth and they proclaim in a house sick child is taken care of the most. But same people forget that in a nation BIMARU states are given priority. Double Standards is the sole problem.

GST is not injurious for federal system as it includes both CGST & SGST moreover petroleum products are excluded from GST which can fetch ample revenue for the states. The hitch is region centric attitude co existed by double standards. The remedy is that self proclaimed socialism and federalism should be mutually comprehensive and not contrary.

Remembering Atalji

0

I must say that I was very young, like merely 10, to understand politics, when Atalji  became the prime minister. I back then used to spend a lot of time at my grandparents place and thus spent watching parliamentary debates that my grandpa watched. Of course, I understood nothing back then and found it boring, only to realize years later how that discussions in the parliament I was watching then with no clue are shaping my life today in very real and tangible terms. Enormity of those decisions and the path that it took the nation is something beyond words.

As all kids of the 90’s, a young westernized boy, I was a little awkward to see my prime minister walk in Dhoti and speak in Hindi more than English, only to later realize how foolish I was to judge someone so great, by his attire and to mock the magnanimity and the depth of the Hindi language, the Virat and Advitiya Sanksritik heritage that it has and the worldly knowledge it brings. Atlaji taught me to hold pride in the heritage and history, he taught us to proudly embrace our Hinduism and showcase it to the world in true spirit. While doing that on one hand, the economic reforms that he took, the path of privatization adopted under his government made us truly embrace market economics and liberated us from a state controlled socialists order in an unimaginable way, which was of course first ventured by PV Narshimha Rao ji and Manmohan ji (under compulsion) was made a high on which Indian moved into top gear under Vajpaiji .

The Pokhran test must be called the crowning jewel that showed the world that India not just talks Ahimsha but talks it from a position of strength. His almost 65 years in politics and the journey from 2 seats to 272+, is a lesson of his hard work and his persistent attitude. It is what took BJP from scratch to a formidable election machine. A great man, a statesman, a poet, a leader, an architect of modern politics whose words cut through like sword when needed and also felt like cool breeze. Looking at him you realize why pen is mightier than the sword. He by his great oratory, proved that  words have the power to shape thousands of lives.

Never to forget that such a great son of India was once called communal, hardliner, anti free speech and freedom of expression by the same people in the “intellectual mainstream” and scripted his fall in 2004 as we learn from the archives of the now powerful social media. The same mainstream which is busy shedding crocodile tears showering flowers of secularism for him today. Finally, as his soul leaves his body I will not utter the words R.I.P, as our INDIC philosophy says that Atma Amar Hai and it takes rebirths. I wish he takes several such rebirths to shape the minds and convictions of millions, make them restless as he was and keep shaping the national discourse towards a truly VIRAT and AJINKYA BHARAT!

I will borrow his words to end this Sharandhajali to him

“Satta ka khel toh chalega, Sarkarein aayengi jaayengi, Partiyan banegi bigdegi, Magar ye desh rahna chahiye, Uska Loktantra amar rahna chahiye”

On a sad part, instead of taking any motivation from the above, the youth these days choose “Bharat tere tukde honge” and “Bharat ki barbadi tak jang rahegi”.
