This is how the center can build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

0

The question that whether we will be able to offer our prayers at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in our lifetime has haunted our previous generation and it has started to haunt us now. The dispute began in 1853 when the Nirmohi Akhara staked claim on the Masjid and even after so many years, in 2019, there is still no solution in sight. Although the matter is in the Apex Court what the people have been getting is “Taarikh pe taarikh”. In such a scenario a question arises… Does the center have enough authority to build the mandir and when can they start building the Mandir?

Well the answer to this is YES! The government can build the Ram Mandir wherever it wants and whenever it wants and that too within the legal and constitutional framework of the country.

The present case in Supreme Court on Ram Mandir is strictly restricted to The Title. The Supreme Court will strictly treat the dispute as a mere land dispute and then later determine who the actual owner of the land is.

Till 1978, Right to property was a fundamental right. But after the 44th amendment to the constitution, it became a constitutional right. Article 300A, introduced by the amendment, states that, Persons not to be deprived of property save by authority of law. No person shall be deprived of his property save by authority of law. This means that, the government may deprive a person of his property for greater public use by paying them fair and adequate compensations under the provisions of Land Acquisition act.

On December 7th 1992, a day after the Masjid demolition, the Narashimha Rao government acquired about 67 acres of land in and around the disputed site though an ordinance – The Acquisition of certain areas of Ayodhya Act.  The same was challenged by Ismail Faruqui in the Supreme Court where a Constitutional bench gave a verdict in 1994 that –“a mosque is not an essential part of the practice of Islam and hence could be acquired by the state.”

So as of today, the government is owner of the land and if the government wants, they can hand over the land to anyone they want including, the VHP or the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas who can then begin the construction of Ram Mandir. And when the Supreme Court decides on the title and say who the actual owner of the disputed site is, the government can then pay fair and adequate compensation to the party under article 300A.

On 29th January, the government has sought permission from the Supreme Court to return land that it has held for over two decades to the original owners. It contends that of the 67 acres of land in question, only 0.313 acres are disputed and currently being heard in the Supreme Court. A large portion of the 67 acres of land originally belonged to the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, a trust geared towards the construction of the Ram Mandir.

This seems as a great development on the path of construction of the Mandir. But legally speaking, the government has the authority to handover even the 0.313 acres of land to interested parties for the construction of the Mandir.

As a Hindu I sincerely hope that the government fast-tracks the process and we can see the construction of the temple begin at least in the second half of this year.

Why the Mahagathbandhan is good for the BJP

0

Most people reading this would consider me to be totally out of my elements. However, whether right or wrong, I do believe that the MGB is actually an advantage for the BJP.

Now, consider that the MGB wins and will form the next government. Who will be the PM? It is quite obvious that the party with the largest number of seats would have the most say. Let us look at who are the players, aside from Congress, which still does not know which side of its bread is buttered, due to ever confused President aided by a never let go Chairperson and a newly influencial GS, supported by a number of court jesters, who need to prove their worth.

SP, BSP, RJD, CPI, CPM, TMC, TRS, TDP, NC, DMK, JDS, RLD are seemingly part of it. Assuming the max seats they can get, the serious players for the next PM are SP, BSP, RJD, TMC & DMK. So the rest do not the skin in the game other than getting enough to make certain that their family line survives.

Except for SP and BSP, the rest have their own states to contest from. The other three parties understand that the only chance they have is that they get better number than the rest. They are also pretty undertanding that without SP+BSP winning, they have little chance in 2019 to form a government. The fact is even SP and BSP understand it. They know who gets more between them will be the King (or Queen). The maximum number they can win is limited. With BJP+Cong winning around 20 by the lowest estimates, leaves them with 60 to share the spoils. At 30, they may be close to TMC and DMK (around 25-28 each at best). So best option is the other wins less. And how does that happen. You undermine the others’ chances.

That in nutshell, is why MGB will be trying to pull each other down by obscure means. None of them wants the other to win more. So while they will show up together, they will play spoiler in the background. TMC and DMK were immune to others to some extent, but SP, BSP and RJD are in a similar space. This explains Mamta’s panic over the recent CBI incident. She knows if she looses ground, she will not have any important role in the new government. Likewise, Akhilesh and Mayawati know that to be in a controlling position in the next setup, they must beat BJP, Cong and their alliance partner.

And that is an advantage that BJP has in this election. It needs to marshall its energy on fewer players, can have focussed campaigns constituency wise. Being a political party, it can also promote some degree of mistrust among the MGB (though I don’t think they have a high level of trust anyways between them). After getting SP & BSP together, and unsettling Mamta in her own backyard, I would be watching TN with some interest. Naidu has already been bested by YSRC and has insufficient chance due to Babu’s misadventure with Cong. Though retracted, people read the script quite clearly that he is not to be trusted. TSR can at best get 16 seats, not enough for it to stake it’s claim for PM. Naidu will try to bring them down and vice versa.

So my take is, MGB is good for BJP. It should support it!

What is the opposition mixture banking up on for 2019?

Seeing the recent hysterics of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee over the CBI investigation into Saradha Chit fund case and the brazenness with which she came to defend an accused police officer, raises many questions. The questions are not simple, the questions are complicated.

The question is not why Mamata Banerjee is doing this, the question is how dare she support corruption so openly and in such a brazen manner and still expect to win elections. She has won elections in the past and it is her second term in WB as CM, so on what grounds did people vote for her second time when the only thing she did was to replace CPIM terror politics withe Bangladeshis terror politics. TMC party set up reminds one not of politics but mafia.

Gangrape of pregnant wife of a BJP worker, who is reported to have committed suicide now speaks volumes about what is happening in West Bengal which has a reported history of 55 thousand political murders during communist rule. The ruthlessness of commies had touched heights in West Bengal where communist workers and so called leaders made a woman eat the rice soaked with the blood of her 4 year old son. The criminal behind this gruesome crime died recently and there is no report of any action being taken against him throughout his life.

The Bengalis were supposed be tired of this violent politics and they found substitute in Mamata. Gangrape of pregnant wife of a BJP worker, who is reported to have committed suicide now speaks volumes about what is happening in West Bengal which has a reported history of 55 thousand political murders during communist rule., but hardly they knew that they were substituting one suppressor with the other one. Mamata like commies has her own tricks, she is ruling West Bengal through the threat of Mulsim flare ups and Bangladeshi illegals threat of violence against the majority community.

The desecration of Mandirs is very common, rapes are very common but since it is not BJP ruled state our media has no time to report such matters, as now suddenly after congress took power in Rajasthan the Muslims killed for Cow smuggling have become nameless boys, the word Gau Rakhshaks has been replaced by Crowd, and lastly lynching word has now been modified to the softer one like “beating”. This is is our media which wants us to believe what they say while clearly they have an agenda and open one. They want to demonize Hindus of India in every way they can, they want to portray them as most violent intolerant bigoted and what not. For this media terrorists who kill people are simply headmasters sons, the Naxals who smash heads of 4 month old babies in front of their parents to continue and sustain their rein of terror are called rights activists.

It is this cover to the crime and criminals which has emboldened all criminals of the country, be they petty criminals or the big criminals like those involved in Chit fund scams, Chara ghotala and all the loot. we can just see how media is protecting such criminals by using the free for all sheets of secularism.

Only thing they have to do is oppose Hindus abuse RSS say Hindu marriages are dirty, Holi is bigger threat than nuclear leak and Diwali is responsible for all the pollution in the world and temperature rise in Africa deserts is because Hindus celebrate it. This is what secularism is all about in India, where Bombs and guns recovered from ISIS module are harmless and Hanuman sticker ant the back end screen of a vehicle has the capacity to make another 9/11 happen.

Under this garb of secularism Lalu the convict is the epitome and torch bearer of democracy, the Dynasty and its people are divine blessing and all their loot is the sacrifice of Italy for the sake of India.

Now even when the whole opposition has announced support for the brazen violation of law by a sitting CM of a state and these same thugs are doing Save Democracy theatrics and our media is dutifully obfuscating the fact that there is ghotala for thousands of crores through these ponzi schemes and it was the SC who had directed CBI to conduct investigation of the same.

Since BJP resumed power the media cleverly and clandestinely diverted the attention of people of India from the great work being done for poor like providing insurance cover to poor, connecting poor with banking system. Great reforms like GST and increase in India’s stature at the world level, no they had bigger issues there like what some leader said about woman one thousand years ago, How Hindus are intolerant and How all the terrorism in Kashmir started just after 2014, and how all Indians became poor after that.

Recently we all have seen a flare up of news portals but seeing the content it is obvious that they are in the business of propaganda and spins and lies. Just having a cursory look at outlets like Print and Wire an unbiased person will be convinced that these are not news portals but something else. Occasionally they may come up with some news or analysis but all this seems to be a ploy to provide covering to their real intent.

In India media has no responsibility to be truthful, and if some one raises questions over their spins and twists there are cries of Media Under threat. Despite being free to obfuscate lie and mislead the same media mercenaries are the ones who cry Modi is Hitler at the first opportunity provided to them. Yes they cry Modi is Hitler and still claim their voices are suppressed. Do they realize that when there is dictatorship no one can shout about it and their very shouting is the proof that what they are saying is utterly false.

Our media knows it is the big part of elections and can earn out of it and their earnings seems to have taken a nose dive since Modi took over. So that is the reason that street fight between two teenagers becomes India is intolerant and Mamta crying to save the corrupt is called Save democracy and action against money laundering is called vendetta.

Mamata & united opposition- The true face of fascism

0

The election season is upon us and thus the blame game has started across the nation – with the united opposition’s major onus being targeting the central government and the duo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah in particular.

The ‘United Opposition’ first shared stage during Kumaraswamy’s oath-taking ceremony in Bengaluru.

With Mamata Banerjee finally showing the true fascist colors of the ‘united opposition’ out in the open after ‘her’ Kolkata police manhandled a team CBI officers who went to question the city’s police commissioner Rajeev Kumar over no-show when summoned by the central agency.

Mamata has shown her true fascist colors after CBI raids at Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar’s residence.

Kumar is being investigated for tampering with evidence in the 2013 Saradha chit fund scam. The CBI claims that an SIT formed in April of the same year collected a laptop, five cell phones and documents, including a diary purportedly of Saradha Group promoter Sudipta Sen but the items have since gone missing.

Rajeev Kumar in the ‘dharna’ despite being a civil servant and not a part of the TMC cadre.

“Crucial evidence was not handed over. It was either destroyed… We want to take the investigation further. We are looking into the larger conspiracy connected to the chit fund scams,” said Pankaj Srivastav, CBI Joint Director in Kolkata.

The West Bengal CM has since sat on a ‘Dharna’, much to delight of her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal. Several regional leaders, who were earlier seen sharing dais with Mamata at the grand “United India Rally” have shown solidarity with her in an attempt to undermine the CBI and thus blame the Modi govt of false ‘fascism’.

PM Modi has shaken TMC’s roots in Bengal after his recent rally registered record crowds

Earlier the Mamata govt. barred Amit Shah’s chopper from landing for a rally in the state and she later repeated the same autocratic behaviour when UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s chopper was set back.

The last year or so has seen the grand opposition put on some massive shows of strength, first in Karnataka at HD Kumaraswamy’s swearing in ceremony and then in Kolkata and more recently at the much-hyped but ultimately flop-show ‘Jan Akanksha Rally in Bihar. The opposition, though it seems focused and determine to oust the popular Modi government – is more or less a paper-Tiger (barring the SP-BSP coalition in UP) when it comes to having an actual impact on the ground.

BJP’s growing popularity i West Bengal has left Mamata rattled.

Some 22-23 odd parties participated in the Kolkata rally organised by ‘poribartan ki pukar’ Mamata Di, but how many of them have a hold on the voter’s mind outside of their respective states is the key. Chandrababu Naidu will not pull crowds in the Hindi heartland, nor will DMK’s MK Stalin have any effect on votes being polled in Orissa, West Bengal or the North East.

Whereas, the poster-boy of Congress is yet to charm the united opposition into accepting him as a leader – as was evident when soon after Stalin poised his name as the leader of the ‘United Front’ with Samajwadi Party, the Telugu Desam Party, Trinamool Congress, the National Conference, the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the CPM having hinted at being against the dynast’s leadership.

The disgruntled opposition will give the anti-incumbent ‘Modi Sarkar’ a challenge, but the PM still enjoys massive popularity amongst masses as the Modi wave is far from over just yet.

How FMCG industry has witnessed tremendous growth in last fiscal year

0

Indian FMCG market is 4th largest sector in the Indian economy and FMCG growth has a significant impact on the economic structure of the country. With the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST), FMCG brands successfully navigated their way to record a higher demand-led growth. The overall attitude of the FMCG landscape seems positive and the current pace projects a healthier growth in both shorter and longer time-frames.

Growing awareness and easier access have been the key driving force in leading this sector’s growth. The current statistics show that urban areas generate the largest revenues for FMCG businesses in India. However, in recent years with rural segment adopting new technologies, the FMCG industry is witnessing growth at a faster pace in rural and suburban areas.

Key Driving Factors for FMCG Growth in India

There are key factors which have resulted in the huge growth of the FMCG sector despite being disrupted by GST and demonetization. Let’s look at the major driving force behind this progress;

  • Increased awareness, changing lifestyle and easy accessibility are the primary drivers to lead this historic growth.
  • Organized Retail is the biggest ticket for FMCG players as they are estimated to grow at a rate of 20% year on year.
  • The growth of middle-class consumers and the greater disposable income has led FMCG companies to flourish.
  • With the emerging rural market, FMCG companies are designing products to meet the specification of rural consumers and this has led the FMCG sector to reach every nook and cranny of our country.
  • Corporate players are sensing the growing trends of FMCG in India. They are planning to increase their consumer promotion spends and ad budget. Many FMCG giants are diversifying their product base to reach a wide range of consumers. They are currently in a position to provide quality products at affordable prices.
  • With FDI and other foreign investments, Indian FMCG landscape has become an attractive sector for most foreign multinationals.
  • Technology adoption has made consumer conscious of quality and price of the product, hence the FMCG giants are facing a healthy competition to attract customer attention.
  • Increased literacy in both the rural and urban sector has resulted in the growth of income among the population. Consumers today are open to trying new things, which has resulted in changing spending behavior.
  • With the explosion of the internet and social media platforms, consumers today are exposed to different lifestyles and demand more comfortable choices while selecting a product.

Understand the Role of Rural Consumers in the growth of FMCG Sales in India

Changing Consumer Behavior has not only been witnessed by urban areas but rural segments have also undergone a huge behavioral shift.

  • Rural Consumption rose by 9.7% in the year 2018, whereas urban consumption led to a steady growth of 8.6%.
  • Currently, FMCG market receives around 40-45% of its revenue through Rural segments. Current pace shows a growth rate of 15-20% in the coming fiscal year. While the growth of urban revenue is expected to remain steady at 8%.
  • Penetration of e-commerce and digitization has made rural population adapt technological features like credit cards, debit cards and online banking. FMCG brands are leveraging this trend to attract new consumers.
  • Implementation of GST has transformed logistic planning. Big FMCG and retail clients are remodeling their transportation and warehouse business models to leverage this change.
  • FMCG products note a 50% spend of total expenditure in rural India. With more disposable income in hand, this percentage is more likely to increase.

Latest Trends in FMCG Industry

With the growing demand for FMCG products, there are some trends which FMCG industries follow in order to keep up with their customer’s mindset.

  • Consumers are increasingly becoming brand conscious and hence FMCG industries are diversifying their product range to meet specific consumer demands.
  • FMCG’s are reinventing their portfolios by developing new and better products.
  • FMCG’s are releasing customizable products, owing to provide better customer service.
  • Many FMCG companies are branding themselves as an eco-friendly product, as consumers are becoming highly environmentally conscious.

Strategies adopted by the FMCG Industry to meet the rising consumer Demand

With increasing competition, the FMCG sector is implementing new strategies to stay ahead in the competition

  • Companies are more aggressively following multi-brand strategies to cater to the needs of a larger market segment. For example – Parakh group has extended their FMCG reach through other popular brands like Samrat India and Vilina capturing flour and cooking oil manufacturing segments respectively.
  • Offer Customizable products such as Horlicks introduced Women’s Horlicks targeting Women as their audience; as customers are less likely to stay brand loyal if the same product is available with multiple companies.
  • FMCG companies have understood the importance of developing new product lines and hence they are hugely investing in consumer research and product development.
  • FMCG players are hugely investing in advertising to capture their audience’s attention. As the FMCG sector is witnessing growth, there is an increased level of competitiveness and brands are trying everything to stay ahead in the game.
  • As the audience is becoming more health conscious and keeping itself updated with the quality of a product, FMCG brands are constantly adopting new preservation and food processing technologies.
  • The biggest change in consumer behavior is their ability to do research before buying a product. Hence FMCG and retail companies are working hard to build a strong online presence.

Road Ahead

Having extensively discussed the current state of FMCG in India, it is evident that the FMCG market is skyrocketing and there is a huge demand for branded products in India.

India has a huge share of market categorized as the ‘unorganized sector’ and as these sectors have started counting themselves in the FMCG and bracket, the growth of modern retail is slowly witnessing an augmented growth.

Increase in online sales, higher consumption, changing buying behaviours, healthy competition, demand for more systematic distribution is prompting FMCG business to innovate new products and technologies. This resulting growth will surely invite interesting opportunities to create a robust and seamless business organization.

Mamata Banerjee should not throw stones at others when her own house is built of glass

0

Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other
– Oscar Ameringer

The entire incident in Bengal on the evening of 3rd February reeks of conspiracy. CBI comes to talk to police commissioner on the orders of the court. They are first stalled and later arrested. Mamata Banerjee, who wasn’t even involved in the interrogation, coming to the residence of the police commissioner trying to stall CBI from entering into the house. By the way that never happens. She is chief minister for God’s sake.

Then they arrest CBI guys citing they don’t have proper documents and search warrant. Well, Police people, the badge called CBI and the court order are enough for them to ask anyone for interrogation. More than that, they are not there to arrest the commissioner rather search his premises (as far as I have read) and interrogate him. After knowing that CBI is not going to stop, Banerjee sits on Dharna because that’s what Kejriwal has made everyone think is the solution to every problem.

I don’t understand why is she crying so much. It was a general interrogation. How was it undemocratic and unconstitutional? And how is it related to her if she hasn’t done anything wrong. They weren’t even there for her.

Government officers are under the oath of government and their job is to help the government and maintain law and order. Sitting on Dharna is not their job and if they are sitting on Dharna with politicians, then there has to be something in their closets which they are trying very hard to protect.

As far as the situation appears the case is much deeper than we think. If it opens up, a can of worms will be opened and several high profile people will come under its effect.

Kejriwal, Rahul Gandhi, Tejasvi Yadav and many more who have lost hopes of winning elections in the future because of Modi wave, have extended their support to Mamata and her colleagues. They should. For anything that is even remotely connected to Modi, they are bound to come together. That is the only option left to them.

Yes, there is a situation. A dire and dangerous situation where every other party has joined hands to defeat the biggest political force India has ever seen. I feel so fortunate to watch this election. This is by far the most interesting event happening in the country.

This kind of situation has never arisen before and one got to see what the court’s decision will be.

I am seeing that for the first time the opposition, the commies, the leftists, the liberals have nothing to argue about and have weak counter statements. They can’t justify the hue and cry Mamta is making and can’t explain the drama if there is nothing to hide.

There doesn’t seem to be any reason why CBI inquiry should be stopped and on top of it, the quick dharna to blackmail the court, the constitution and the democracy raise many questions.

Rajeev Kumar, IPS at the Dharna of Mamta Banerjee

The recent brand tarnishing of Kejriwal has taken away the trust which Dharnas have in the minds of people once. No one is turning up for Anna’s Dharna who has again shown his face after five years at the appropriate time of Elections to get his piece of cake. It’s pity that his dream to become next Gandhi is finally destroyed. Thanks to Kejriwal the people who were neutral earlier but later supported Kejriwal turned towards Modi when their trust was broken by Kejriwal. In Modi, they found a saviour of this country, not that this country needed to be saved, but this country needed a good leader. A leader they can trust and who is ready to work hard. The results and effects can be easily seen everywhere around us.

The Saradha chit funds scam started way back in 2006 and the company Saradha groups who was the mastermind behind it collapsed in 2013. It was a Ponzi scheme but till the time it was found out it was too late. Saradha Group enticed them with higher returns and they got fooled by it. It kept growing because people didn’t have bank accounts and they wanted a place where they can keep their money for future use. This is one reason why Modi Government used demonetization as a means to force poor people to open bank accounts, apart from curbing black money.

The farmers who were saving money for the seeds, the clerk who was saving money for his son’s education and a street vendor who was saving money for his daughter’s marriage all got duped of their hard-earned money by people who put their interest above the country. The man named Sudipto Sen and her receptionist, Debjani Mukherjee who soon became the company’s Executive Director, planned the entire scam so that they can fill their banks with billions of rupees from people who worked day and night to earn it.

Sudipto Sen in Police Custody

Thousands of people were conned in the scheme and when Centre interfered, Mamta Banerjee made a panel to probe the inquiry into the matter which was administered by the commissioner of Police Rajeev Kumar. It was made I guess to pacify the court that actions are taken when all it did was stall the investigation as the panel never produced any shreds of evidence. Rajeev Kumar who is the man in the question right now and is known to be absconding for last three days hadn’t attended the meeting with Election Commission officers to plan the arrangements for future elections and has been unresponsive despite several summons from the court for quite some time.

For more than half a decade SEBI, CBI, politicians, depositors have warned the Bengal government about Sudipto Sen, the infamous owner of Saradha Group but brilliant as he was, he had most politicians in his pocket. He knew this time might come. He also knew that if he had politicians involved in his scam, then they would do anything to save him as he could be linked directly to them. The Provident Fund Scam of Ghaziabad was masterminded in the same way by Ashutosh Asthana. He bribed judges so that they would save him on the rainy day.

Saradha Group was the same Company that bought Mamata Banerjee’s paintings for nearly 2 crore rupees. Many MPs like Kunal Ghosh and Srinjoy Bose who held important positions in the company were drawing salaries of about 16 lakhs to 20 lakhs per month from the company. The roots of this company were so strong that they had opened their office abroad and when SEBI tried to inquire about their income which was enormous, they forged more than 200 companies and shared the asset in different companies to justify their income.

They had TV channels of their own. They had celebrities to endorse their company and its schemes. Mithun Chakravarthy was one of them. Imagine the kind of money they were using to promote their company. Mamta Banerjee was one person who made it mandatory for all the public library in Bengal to buy Saradha Newspapers.

There was barter trade going on between the company and the Bengal government. When CBI got involved in May 2014, after the Modi government came, Sudipto’s head came under scrutiny and he found there might not be any escape for him so he wrote a letter to CBI citing the name and connections he has in the government and also that he was forced to make some loss-making investments by MPs like Kunal Ghosh. That is when the investigation took a different turn. Sudipto fled away with Debjani after posting the letter and was absconded for a brief period to time during which more layers of the scam were unearthed. He was later arrested from Kashmir.

Mamta Banerjee like most politicians in the country lives inside her head. She thinks in terms of how to manipulate people and how to manipulate the government rather than working for people which would have been an easy solution. Then she curses Modi for everything but does not have anything to counter Modi in return. She is even using the nationalism pride to save herself and the people. She is making it a matter for the country when it is clearly her personal motives who are in danger here.

Modi was always available to CBI when he was under Probe in the 2002 riots. As a chief minister, he was grilled for more than 9 hours once and no one raised an eyelid then. Later he was proved innocent by the court. I didn’t find him complaining then. That was a democratic and constitutional act on his part. This one, however, is not.

Our country is highly democratic and it is the biggest democracy in the world and if someone says otherwise, he is just trying to protect himself in the guise of showing that this country is going downhill.

If CBI doesn’t raid then they say it doesn’t do anything but when it does it is linked back to Modi.

I think the opposition thinks too high of Modi to think something like that. They like to believe that he runs CBI, Supreme court and every other government organization. If he did, there would have been more arrests in the last four years than there has been till now and more autocratic rule. Under those circumstances, it wouldn’t have been possible for the Bengal chief minister to do what she is doing right now.

There is no doubt in the minds of people that this entire act is a big drama to gain public sympathy and save themselves from the clutches of law.

No matter what happens in the days to come, I am assured of one thing – the world is now seeing the true face of Bengal and what she has done to it. This will make her the centre of politics for a while and bring her in news for some time but it won’t help. It is not a very great political move. If Chanakya and Machiavelli were alive today, they would be heavily criticizing her moves.

According to them, the best course of action for her would be to burn the evidence and stall the proceedings till elections rather she saw an opportunity here to make it a country level news and use it for political gain, but – She chose the wrong topic and wrong time.

Mamata Banerjee needs to learn some lessons on how a CM should be from Narendra Modi

0

Today CBI, the investigation agency of India reaches to a state in India in order to investigate against some local police officers but on the orders of CM of that state, police officers arrest the CBI officials itself and after some time, CM announces that she won’t allow CBI officials to enter in that state.

This happened not in any of the neighbouring countries of India but a state of India, West Bengal and we are talking about the CM who alleges that she is fighting elections in order to save democracy.

Now let us talk about the person against whom this Chief Minister says that she will save democracy from him.

CBI office is approximately 25-26 kms away from the CM’s residence.

I’m talking about Ahemdabad, the same place where the former Chief Minister Narendra Modi used to reach at 10 am and used to come back near about 7 pm.This even happened 2-3 times a week sometimes.

No!!
Narendra Modi didn’t use to reach there for meeting with CBI officials but he went there to give the detailed answers of questions of the CBI officials, he went there to make his stand clear in the case which was running against him, i.e., the 2002 riots.

At that time, Central government was of Congress and the state government was of BJP. Narendra Modi had police with him, whole system of Gujarat under him but he never spoke a word against investigation, never gave any sort of threats to any CBI officials, neither any of the CBI officials were arrested. This continued for approximately 5-6 years. Sometimes the then CM Narendra Modi mentioned this suffering in public domain but he never interfered in any of the governmental works of central government nor he cried about Vendetta politics.

This is what we called as believing in democracy, this is what is known as respecting and having faith in constitution and truly saving it.

Sorry Mamta didi but you have become the biggest threat to democracy today, your this sort of deeds can lead this country to another partition!!

Sabarimala and women’s rights

0

At Haji Ali Dargah, Mumbai, women worshippers are not permitted to enter inside and touch the tomb of the male saint. As the entry of women in close proximity of grave of a male Muslim saint is a grievous sin in Islam. Entry of women between ages 10 and 50 from offering worship at Sabarimala Shrine is banned because it is the age when women could be menstruating.

The Supreme Court on October 24, 2016, delivered its verdict upholding equal access to women as men in Haji Ali Dargah. In a similar verdict, on 28th September 2018, the Supreme Court overturned the ban on the entry of women in Sabarimala on the grounds that the selective ban on women was not an essential part of Hinduism, and instead a form of religious patriarchy. Arguably, such traditions are discriminatory against women. However, they are not uncommon across the globe. Mount Athos in northeastern Greece, an important centre of Eastern Orthodox monasticism, bans women, and female animals. Women are also banned from entering Okinoshima, a sacred Japanese island which is home to the 17th century shrine of Okitsu and Mount Omine, a sacred mountain in Nara, Japan. Okinoshima Island has gained UNESCO world heritage status recently. As we progress into modernity, the value of such traditions are debatable. But, at the same time, they beg the question if courts should interfere in such matters. As the lone women judge, Indu Malhotra noted in her dissenting judgement in the Sabarimala case, “what constitutes an essential religious practice is for the religious community to decide” and not a matter that should be decided by the courts. She added that “notions of rationality cannot be invoked in matters of religion by courts.”

One could argue that those days are over when the agents of God dictated the terms of worship. People are breaking those barriers now. But some traditions and values should be respected. The currency notes of USA still proclaim “In God We Trust”; not “In technology we trust” or “In science we trust”. Do we need to change customs and traditions because they discriminate women, if they do not endanger or detrimental to the advancement of women? If religious customs prevent from leading progressive lives or advancing in their career, those traditions should be abolished. Customs that give men superior power to send a woman out of wedlock without providing alimony or other support, should be condemned. However, other than providing victory to some women’s right activists, does gaining entry to a mosque, a temple or an island emancipate women?

Let’s set aside these arguments and agree that banning women from the sanctum sanctorum of Sabarimala is discriminatory and the supreme court has all rights to intervene. However, supreme court verdict is only the beginning. The smooth enforcement of the judgement is the responsibility of the local government. As sovereign citizens of India, women should demand the government for effectively and efficiently implementing the court order. The state government’s attitude that they don’t have any other option but blindly obey the Supreme court is absurd. Anyone who had been to Sabarimala can understand that the pilgrimage is treacherous and not women friendly. It is the largest annual pilgrimage in the world with an estimate of between 17 million and 50 million devotees visiting every year. Most devotees use the banks of the Pamba river as open air toilets, take a dip in the bone chilling river before dawn and trek steep uphill for miles along dense forest.

In the case of Haji Ali Dargah, after the court verdict, the authorities made structural changes, and also made sure that they could provide a safe environment. There are different entry and exit points for men and women. Nobody is allowed to touch the tomb. In this way they are able to give equal treatment to both sexes and also keep it in line with the Muslim personal law (Shariah). In Sabarimala, there are no ladies toilets. There are no women only entry points. The Travancore Devaswom Board made it clear that they have no plans for building any special amenities for women. Given the volume of devotees that visit the shrine, these facilities are critically important before allowing the entry of women Yet, the state government believes that Sabarimala is ready to accept women. Women who tried to enter the temple premises were chased away by angry devotees while the police stood and watched. These devotees were not sophisticated gorillas carrying grenades and assault rifles. The local authorities’ inability to provide security to the women devotees from a groups angry mob cannot be understood.

Women should fight for their rights with dignity. Sneaking into the temple in the middle of the night and claiming victory looks silly. Moreover, shortly after this progressive development, the temple shut its doors so that a purification ritual could be performed since it had, in their view, been sullied by the entry of the women. This is the worst form of insult for women. The action of the temple authorities would seem to violate Article 17 of the Constitution, which prohibits untouchability. However, no women seemed to care about this. They were busy celebrating. It’s time women realize that they have only won the battle; not the war.

The real win is when they are accepted as first class citizens in the temple. For this to happen, the authorities should give up “my way or highway” attitude and start diplomatic conversations with the temple authorities. There are no problems that cannot be solved through effective dialog. The women activist movements should pressurize the government authorities for this to happen. They cannot rest until then.

Did Gandhiji go wrong?

TOOTHPASTE-manufacturers, the world over, have been pouring their millions into advertisements trying to convince consumers that a smile is all about sparkling white teeth and little else. But then a toothless smile, of our Chief Guest that day, Jayadevappa Duggani by name, was better than any of those much-hyped branded smiles. This crossed my mind, while watching this old man in his 80s, who seemed to have some difficulty with his new set of dentures, and in the course of delivering his speech he had, at one stage, absently removed them, to firmly hold them clasped in his left hand. The occasion was Independence Day celebrations -1986

The only available details about this personality at my office [Bank of India, Mugutkhan Hubli Branch] were, three of his family members – himself, wife and their eldest daughter- all three of them were recipients of Taamra Patra from the government, in recognition of their role in freedom struggle. It was also learnt that he had not only met Mahatma Gandhi on a few occasions but the latter knew him personally as well!

Lucid & Interesting

His speech was quite lucid, that enabled us to get a peep into the pre-independence era. What struck me was his being so very different from the freedom fighters I had till then, come across, in the sense, he was not an active politician. On the other hand, he had retired as Head Master of Kittur High School. But why? Just what may have prevented him from doing that? I was curious to know. In fact, I wanted to know much more about this great man, if possible in a tête-à-tête.

The old man was already very tired, having traveled all the way from distant Kittur by bus but fortunately now, one of the guests who was bound for Dharwar, volunteered to drop the old man on his way, at Kittur; that meant my dream of an interview was a wash out! I therefore decided to ask him only one question, “Duggani-avare, how come you didn’t enter active politics?”

The answer was simple yet so very surprising. “As soon as freedom had become a matter of certainty, Gandhiji told us that the struggle was over; and that we ought to go back to our respective vocations…”

Wind up

The moment, it had become a matter of certainty that our country would get its independence, Mahatma Gandhi conveyed his wishes to Jawaharlal Nehru and others that the Congress Party ought to be wound up! And also wished that all volunteers ought to go back to their respective homes and get back to work. Jayadevappa Duggani, as a true Gandhian, Gandhiji’s word was for him, veda-vakya itself! So he left.

Now this left me wondering, ‘Who knows, how many more such Jayadevappa Dugganis had likewise instantly obeyed Gandhiji’s word and gone back to their respective vocations? Perhaps, for once, Bapuji had gone wrong in giving that call. This, coming as it did, at a time, when young independent India, was just about attempting to rise on its young feet, when shortfall of honest and sincere leaders on the supply side, was predictably acute, this directive of the Mahatma may have had the effect of pulling the rug from under the feet of Jawaharlal Nehru who was about to take over as the country’s first Prime Minister.

Tracking down

In reality, these are the leaders who alone deserve to be called Gandhians! They not only refrained from staking claim to any political spoils, but also to this day, don’t seem to have any regrets! Of course, a bulk of those volunteers may have by now, already died unsung, un-mourned; a life-long sacrifice for the cause of the country’s freedom notwithstanding!

After my transfer back to Bangalore in 1989, whatever transpired, while attempting to get an update on Jayadavappa Duggani, deserves special mention in this write-up.

I got in touch with my contacts at one of the leading English dailies, desirous of an update on the Dugganis when I was shocked to learn that they have nothing on record about them! They were, however, helpful in directing me to Nava Karnataka Publications who in turn directed me to N. R. Mathad, the Secretary of the Freedom Fighters’ Association, saying that he may be able to help. Of course, Sri NR Mathad did his best; the fact, he knew the Dugganis personally as also their contribution to the freedom struggle, was also somewhat heartening, all the same, he had his own limitations, having lost touch with them for over a decade.

Finally when he learnt that all I wanted to know about Jayadevappa Dugani was whether he is alive or not, he assured me that nine out of ten chances are that he is already dead and that I may proceed on that premise; hence the past tense used, in referring to him.

According to a few freedom fighters who had called on Sri NR Mathad, at his office, many genuine freedom fighters had not been getting pension at all! When probed further, it was learnt that much time had already been lost before the decision for payment of pension was taken, during which time many a freedom fighter had breathed his last too. But of those who were surviving also, only such of those brazen enough to put up with the bureaucratic red-tape coupled with unabashed corruption on the part of officials entrusted with the task of receiving & processing of the applications, could finally manage to get the pension! While on this topic a somewhat interesting topic came to light too, as follows:

The second world-war had brought about a sea-change in the fortunes of many a businessman. Black-marketing & Hoarding in essential commodities had been the most flourishing business during this period! Of course, the guilty were being caught and punished with a jail term as well; even so, the activity was so profitable as to make the risk worth taking, for any daring individual prepared to shed his scruples!

Membership Drive undertaken by Congress party

This is when the Congress party organized a Membership Drive in order to enhance its membership base at the ground level. The need for enrolling fresh members throughout the country was felt to be so immense, as to be incapable of being over-emphasized. Consequently, performance by each centre was adjudged in terms of, number of new members enrolled!

Under the circumstances, a kind of Mela-approach may have had to be adopted for enrolling fresh members, the over-arching guiding principle always being ‘The More, The Merrier!’

In the course of processing those applications, those who had served a jail-term were favourably weighted! Finer details, such as, reason why he/she was jailed, ie., for participating in freedom struggle OR engaging in Black-marketing & Hoarding etc., was conveniently ignored! And most importantly these names were to form part of the data-bank for the future as well.

After over a decade, when the list of freedom-fighters eligible for pension was being finalized in order to ascertain the number of candidates entitled for it as also the quantum, the exercise was ab initio beleaguered on the one hand by elected leaders and on the other by the aforesaid data-bank; so much so, that whereas many a genuine freedom fighter was left high and dry, it was also true that no undeserving candidate with the right contacts was ignored!

Perhaps for once, Bapuji had gone wrong in giving that call. At a time when an acute shortage of honest and sincere leaders was being experienced, this directive of the Mahatma might have amounted to pulling the rug from under the new regime headed by Jawaharlal Nehru.

Let us applaud the steps taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to end corruption in India and know why dynast and regional parties chant anti-Modi slogan

0

Only an impartial analysis of various initiatives taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to end corruption in India, people can understand the truth that how India has been transformed by Modi regime and how the same India was during UPA 1 and 2.

Certainly the above truth also would reveal the underlying reasons for the mass hatred of many dynastic and regional political parties against PM Modi. As soon as Narendra Modi came to power, he initiated the vision of digital India and direct cash transfer to the accounts of the beneficiaries without passing through the middlemen or broker.

The second dynast of the congress party, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi in 1985 said that every 1 rupee allotted by the government to poor people, only 5 paisa reached the beneficiary and the rest were getting divided among the middlemen, predominantly the government employees at various levels. To ensure the money allotted to the poor reaches them directly, PM Modi opened about 1.5 crore bank accounts for poor and marginal people.

The cooking gas subsidy to the tune of Rs. 33 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries without any spillage of money to middleman. Under the 100 day job scheme Rs. 30,000 crore has been transferred directly to the account of the beneficiaries. Under old age pension and NSP scheme, Rs.5000 crore has been directly transferred to the account of the beneficiaries. Under PMAY housing scheme for urban poor, Rs. 37,000 crore has been transferred directly into the account of poor people.  Under PDS scheme Rs. 27,000 has been transferred directly into the account of the beneficiaries without any spillage to the middleman.

Before Narendra Modi took over the power, there was only 28 schemes were there based on direct transfer which he extended to 364 schemes and many more are in the pipeline. Most of the middlemen who were looting 95 paisa of every one rupee allotted to poor people as stated by Rajiv Gandhi, were agents of various political parties, Councillors, workers of various regional parties etc.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi literally starved all those Leeches who were sucking the resources allotted for poor people, to death. Most of the regional parties and dynastic politicians are spreading hatred and negativity against PM Modi because according to them he has literally autoclaved them to death from being middlemen to suck the money allotted to poor people under various Government schemes.

In governance, PM Narendra Modi made several steps to prevent corruption at high place. The corrupt people often slash the bribe money either in bank account or in land/house or in gold or buying shares.

Narendra Modi linked all bank accounts with PAN and Aadhar and made sure that any transaction above 2 lakh must be only through bank and not by cash. Therefore any land registration or house or purchase of Gold or company shares, Aadhar and PAN are necessary and that would warrant the Government servants to declare the source of income.

Since the aadhar of the entire family is linked, even the investments made in the name of the immediate blood relatives also can be traced easily. Similarly the black money cannot be either taken out of India or the black money that is already slashed in foreign land cannot be brought back to India without the knowledge of the government.

The only option left for the corrupt politicians and big guns in government service is to engage Benami which is again difficult due to the Benami Transaction (Prohibition) act.

PM Modi has taken measures at 360 degree to attenuate and impotent all the corrupt people from engaging in corrupt practices. The syndicate of corrupts are extremely worried and are angry with PM Modi, as he has made them jobless. They fear that if PM Modi continues in power for another term, all those corrupt people may become poor due to no earning through bribe and scam.

The reason why many regional parties are angry and restless and are joining together to prevent Narendra Modi coming back to power at any cost has definite personal reasons. Therefore they are spreading hatred and negativity, spreading lies, calling Narendra Modi Hindu fanatic, anti- Muslim etc., to re-instate their corrupt-dynastic rule.

People of India, especially the first time voters and youths must think of their future and the fate of India. If the regional forces and dynastic parties are brought back to power, India will be doomed and mostly the first time voters and younger generation will the big looser. Therefore it the collective responsibility of everyone to re-elect Narendra Modi with absolute majority so that he will have free hand to develop India, end corruption and achieve sab ka vikas.
