Pulwama, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and 20 billion Dollars

0

A recent terror attack in Kashmir, targeted a convoy of security personnel vehicles, killing at least 44 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers (as well as the bomber himself).

Responsibility for the attack was claimed by Jaish-e-Mohammed, a Pakistani based a Sunni terrorist group. The attack has drawn such negative publicity that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), finally agreeing on something for once, identified India as a victim of terrorism and asked member states to cooperate actively with New Delhi to bring these attackers to justice.

After India vowed a “jaw breaking response” to the attack, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan authorized his military to “respond decisively and comprehensively to any aggression or misadventure” by India.

On February 26, the Indian Air Force struck deep within Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and eliminated training camps of the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The pre-dawn strike was conducted by 12 Mirage 2000 jets of the Indian Air Force, in swift retaliation to the dastardly Pulwama terror attack, IAF droped 500 KG and 1000 KG laser-guided bombs on terror launch pads in Balakot, Chakothi and Muazaffarabad in Pakistan. The target in Balakot was the biggest training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed, the outfit which claimed responsibility for the Pulwama suicide bombing. This location was being run by Yousuf Azhar, brother-in-law of Jaish-e-Mohammed’s chief Masood Azhar, who was killed in the bomb run by IAF’s Mirage 2000 fighter jets.

But, okay, fine – let’s accept the rationale of the terrorist threat. If we are going to ignite a powder keg that would begin with two-nuclear armed nations and eventually draw in Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and China, we should at least examine the context in which India are facing a serious threat of terrorism.

Funding

The United States and its allies have had a curious relationship with Pakistan and terrorism for years, as anyone who knows their history will know. What they might not remember, however, is that in February 2007, then vice president, Dick Cheney, made a trip to Pakistan to meet with President General Pervez Musharraf. According to PBS, the secret US-backed campaign against Iran by the terror group known as Jundullah was high on Cheney’s agenda.

A few months later, ABC News reported that Jundallah, which is “responsible for a series of deadly guerrilla raids inside Iran has been secretly encouraged and advised by American officials since 2005.”

The report explains that “US relationship with Jundullah is arranged so that the US provides no funding to the group, which would require an official presidential order or ‘finding’ as well as congressional oversight.” Not to mention that former Pakistani army chief, retired General Mirza Aslam Baig, further explained that “the U.S. supports the Jundullah terrorist group and uses it to destabilize Iran.”

Okay, so the US supported the Jundullah group in Pakistan against Iran, but what does that have to do with the current situation at hand? Well, it appears that JeM and other terrorist organisations in Pakistan receive direct support from key US allies, including and especially Saudi Arabia.

For example, an action request cable archived by Wikileaks, documenting the illicit finance activities in Afghanistan and Pakistan, stated that “it has been an ongoing challenge to persuade Saudi officials to treat terrorist financing emanating from Saudi Arabia as a strategic priority.”

“Still,” the cable continues, “donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide.”

Not surprisingly, Saudi Arabia “remains a critical financial support base” for – wait for it – “Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other terrorist groups.” The LeT is a Pakistan-based terrorist organisation which also has a strong focus on Jammu and Kashmir, where the recent terror attack took place (and India’s initial response). Both LeT and JeM have received overwhelming support from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) since the early 1990s. In fact, LeT became part of the United Jihad Council in 1993, an umbrella group for militant Islamists operating in Kashmir and in doing so, formed a direct alliance with JeM. As far as the US State Department is concerned, the two groups are almost all but completely synonymous.

The ISI itself had been a prime recipient of billions of US aid, particularly under the administration of George W. Bush. The Wikileaks cable clearly shows that the US was well aware elements within the ISI were maintaining ties to the LeT.

The cable also noted that Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE have provided support to LeT and other terrorist groups operating in the region as well. All of these countries are US allies.

Furthermore, a separate Wikileaks cable confirmed that Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been funnelling money not just to LeT but to JeM directly, stating that:
“Locals believed that charitable activities being carried out by Deobandi and Ahl-e-Hadith organizations, including Jamaat-ud-Dawa, the Al-Khidmat Foundation, and Jaish-e-Mohammed were further strengthening reliance on extremist groups and minimizing the importance of traditionally moderate Sufi religious leaders in these communities. Government and non-governmental sources claimed that financial support estimated at nearly 100 million USD annually was making its way to Deobandi and Ahl-e-Hadith clerics in the region from ‘missionary’ and ‘Islamic charitable’ organizations in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates ostensibly with the direct support of those governments.”

HAJJ & Jaish-e-Mohmmad

Saudi Arabia itself has been considered to be somewhat of a safe haven for Jihadists targeting India, including and especially the LeT. An investigation also found that Saudi Arabia funneled funds to anti-Indian terror groups through Hajj pilgrims, and the Diplomat lamented that JeM hunts for potential recruits among the 150,000 devout Indians visiting Mecca every year.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan with Saudi Crown Prince Mohmmad Bin Salman

So, to summarise: the US has a long and documented history of backing anti-Iranian Sunni-based Pakistani terror groups. Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies have been funneling financial support to the LeT, who has a direct alliance and operates in the same area as the JeM (who also receives direct funding from Saudi Arabia), which recently claimed responsibility for an attack which killed at least 40 Indian police personnel.

It’s not exactly rocket science. Call me a little bit suspicious, but perhaps this is why Saudi Arabia was quite open in its assurances to Islamabad that it need not go after JeM directly, even while the group’s leadership apparently continues to live comfortably inside Pakistan.

And what no one really seems to be talking about is the implications this wider geo strategic struggle has for the region. Saudi Arabia wants to win Pakistan over in a tug-of-war game in which Islamabad finds itself in the centre, and in doing so, is committing $10 billion to build an oil refinery in the Gwadar port project, which actually puts a major Saudi project on Iran’s border. Most disturbing is the revelation that Saudi Arabia is also being rumoured to have nuclear weapons “on order” from Pakistan. If it isn’t bad enough that India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons and are now potentially launching air strikes into each other’s territory, the idea that these apocalyptic weapons could one day end up in the hand of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the country currently launching a genocidal war in Yemen and backing known jihadists right across the wider region, all the whilst constantly threatening war with Tehran, is nothing short of suicidal.

According to Israeli media, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s (MBS) recent visit to Pakistan has essentially cemented Pakistan’s inclusion in anti-Iran Arab NATO. Will these countries rush to Pakistan’s aid as it is pummeled by Indian fighter jets? Or will diplomacy and cooler heads eventually prevail?

An Admirable Act by the much Adored-Prime Minister

0

“INDIA STRIKES BACK” – these three words sounded as a matter of great pride to all Indians. As soon as the people heard about the predawn attacks carried out by the Indian Air Force on JeM terror camps and destroying them successfully, in the early morning of 26th Feb at Balakot, that valiant act had aroused emotive high spirits to all Indians and taken them to dizzy heights in jubilation. For, India i.e. Bharat has been bearing brunt of Pak-sponsored terrorism all the while patiently. Of late, the Pulwama deadly massacre by Jaish-e-Mohammed and the coffin-laid bodies of more than 40 young Indian soldiers with cries at cremation site by the near and dear was supposedly the last nail in the coffin of JeM.

The prime minister of the country said the soldiers’ sacrifice would not go in vain. He wanted to avenge it and he did it and proved it. If he had not done, PM Modi would not have been PM Modi for the faith and trust people have in him as a strong leader! He was once a foot-soldier of a nationalistic organisation and still he possesses the same enthusiasm. No wonder that was the reason he built the National War Memorial to slain soldiers of Independent India at a rapid pace in his tenure.

Nationalism is an extreme commitment to the nation. Soldiers are our backbone as they give their lives to protect the nation. JeM dared to kill them (albeit in a cowardly way) and hence invited the retort at an equal measure. All the world nations reprimanded Pakistan for having those Jihadi-terror factories. At the behest of USA, Pakistan bans its cardinal terror-org, JeM on and off.

Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) works with a single-minded determination of uniting Kashmir with Pakistan. This group has sophisticated weapons and it effectively carried out 2001 attack on Parliament in New Delhi and 2016 in Pathonkot. It is, in fact, as an army general stated, the baccha (child) of Pakistani-Army. Though officially banned by Pakistan for the outside world, JeM still has the support of that country. For Pakistan it is a good-terror organisation as it helps the country and has close links to Pakistan security establishment. JeM helped Pakistan in fighting its own war against Pakistani Taliban. That way, it is a friendly terror group and is used by that country against India, a sworn enemy.

JeM-Head Masood Azhar is a banned terrorist by America, France and other European countries. Pakistan’s ban, occasionally, on JeM is to please those nations, not India. When it comes to India, Pakistan is more coarse, atavistic and uncivil. In this hide and seek —of ban-yet-support attitude towards JeM, Pakistan denied its hand in Pulwama massacre and delayed its reaction to the incident. However, the JeM in its bravado claimed immediately that it did it using a home-grown Kashmiri young Indian. Rightly, the JeM deserves the airstrike.

Since Pakistan never admits India’s proof and calls the dossiers submitted from time to time as Indian literature, India itself took the charge of punishing the JeM so as such terror attacks would not recur. Indian intelligence has enough signals to that effect that the terror acts would be repeated (by JeM). All along, the JeM and Pakistan have taken Indian patience and resilience as weakness. Now, they have seen the resolve of the nation to take head-on the terror-perpetrator-groups, as India felt enough is enough.

Coming to escalation of tension-part between the two-countries, as both being nuclear weapon-states what would happen?- it is still an open-ended question. Pakistan being a rogue state, India never confronted with it earlier. India took the path of development by ignoring Pakistan and its provocations. India all the while tried to absorb the ghastly acts perpetrated by Pakistan and moved on. Always, Jihadi terrorists are armed to teeth by Pakistani army and never allowed peace to prevail in Kashmir valley and in turn rest of the India. Their object of “bleed India with thousand cuts” is unhindered. Hence, at some point, India has to take action. Now, this was the occasion with a strong reason behind.

Pakistan says lies without batting an eye-lid. It ignores Indian Air-strike as a minor inconspicuous event. However, the prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan issued a statement of revenge. He complained against India to the Organisation of Islamic Countries also. He is weighing his options.Wars costs dearly for both the countries.

Going to history, the partition of India, itself was a wrong unnecessary act. The Congress specially the first PM, Jawaharlal Nehru hurriedly made it to happen. Had the Bharat been Akhand (united) we would have all lived together. Instead of these wars, we would have had some small communal squirms and clashes occasionally. Where did this partition lead us to? In India, there are more Muslims than in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. By and large, India is peaceful. A peaceful nation progresses. Pakistan is a nuisance and an unnecessary creation by the British and the Congress. The past erroneous creation of a creature called Pakistan is haunting us Indians with its daunting terror groups.

Anyway, it is wise to live in the present. Hopefully, the United Nations and other elite world countries prevail upon Pakistan and bring the situation to normalcy. For India, eternal vigilance is the only solution.

I said a prayer for the Armed Forces for the first time

0

Last night, for the first time, I included my brothers in armed forces in my prayers and it was a great feeling. I felt at peace. I usually pray only for my family in spite of believing in Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu. But, last night I took a few seconds more and said a prayer for the brave hearts who put their lives on the line for me and my family. It felt, in its own insignificant way that I am a part of nation-building as well and not merely a tax-prayer.

The prayer I said was simple. I asked Lord Hanuman to ensure that my brothers who are guarding the border stay safe. It’s not that I was ungrateful earlier. I am fully aware of the humongous efforts and sacrifices put in my brothers. The problem is that I was insensible. What is out of sight is out of mind. I forgot that there is a person at the border risking his life for mine. I don’t know why he does that though. My life is no more valuable than his. And, if he can be that magnanimous, I can be unselfish as well.

When I read of the terror attack on Pulwama, I was enraged, outraged and you name it, I felt it. But, I know the anger I am feeling will dissipate sooner or later and I will get back to my life. But, my jawans, they can do no such thing. That is their life. They have to shoulder our responsibility. And, being responsible is burdensome. Ask an elder sibling and s/he’ll tell you. They need to stay vigilant. And, being vigilant is exhausting. Ask a parent and they’ll tell you. They need to be ready. And, it is physically and mentally straining. You can’t ask anybody about this. You need to ask a jawan.

Just as children are taught to water plants so they know the value of trees, we too should be pen-pals with the jawans so we know they too are a living entity with families and aspirations. This would humanize them, this would sensitize us towards their trials and tribulations, so they don’t just remain a topic we broach with righteous outrage and catchy hashtags when something untoward happens to them only to forget them later.

I cannot be on the border with my brothers but I will continue to do my udutha sahayam (squirrel’s help) by saying a prayer tonight.

The tide is turning and how: Mahagatbhandhan can pack their bags

“They” say a day is too long in politics. Whoever they is. Just a year ago, Narendra Damordas Modi could do no wrong. 2019 was sewn up. It was a given. The opposition was left fighting for 2024, if at all. Then loss of 3 major States- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chattisgarh, even if by a small margin, meant that there was spring in the step of even Rahul Gandhi, he the holder of the most successful and consistent loser tag. He started to take on Modi and his tweets and taunts got meaner and bolder.

And then when SP – Akhilesh Yadav and BSP- Mayawati- got together in Uttar Pradesh, the Mahagatbhandhan was emboldened to spread its wings. What was a no contest seemed like a battle on the cards. Lutyens’ Media gleefully exulted that after all the Modi juggernaut was no longer rolling or invincible.

And the mindless lies they trotted out on Rafale Deal, as a scam, knew no limits. Our friendly neighbourhood self-confessed Commie, he THE N Ram, during the last session of Parliament timed his ‘exclusives’ on Rafale. There was nothing new in any of his pieces and he, to be fair despite his visceral hatred to the ruling dispensation, had to concede that there was no ‘money trail to follow’ unlike in the Bofors scandal. To add to the discomfiture of the central government, the Supreme Court got its pedantics and grammar wrong in reading the sealed cover note. Yet, the Rafale was simply not gaining the traction that Rafale Gandhi nee Rahul and his Bandbaja were hoping for.

But in the last 2/3 months the tide has really turned. And how. BJP has seamlessly struck alliances in Bihar, Maharashtra and even Tamil Nadu. Aware that there may be seats to lose in UP from the impossible high of 70 in 2014, BJP appears to have come down from its high horse of combative politics to holding hands, for alliances. Previously, BJP was ‘untouchable’ with the much touted communal brand. Now, having won a full majority in 2014 and ruling in most States , they are now embraceable and not shun worthy.

And then Pulwama struck. India cried. Anguished at the loss of 40 brave hearts of CRPF. Mamta Di was so insane as to suggest that Modi knew it coming and India needed to do #Factchecking before it accused Pakistan of sponsoring a cross border conspiracy with a home spun terrorist. Such shameful ignominy that even Mahagatbhandhan was unwilling to hold her hands on this.

The opposition has been unnerved that Modi may ‘exploit’ the grieving families of Jawans. How cheap can they get? And he may stand up and take out the terrorist camps which UPA II failed to after 26/11 Mumbai. And with a diplomatic offensive to isolate Pakistan and even China acknowledging Jaish E Mohd role, Modi may display his 56’ chest in giving it back to Pakistan with a rookie Imran Khan in power, with a military propped regime.

More than rattling Pakistan, the Balakot strikes by our proud patriots from the IAF mirage squadron, seems to have shook the Mahagatbhandhan or what is left of it. As it is, it is a rag tag bobtail outfit with no consensual leader or common minimum program except the solitary agenda to see the back of Modi, for he has gotten on the loot bandwagon’s toes too hard, and affording no spaces for them to revel as in the past. And the UPA hangers on media, starved of foreign junkets and freebies of many a kind, cannot stand the sight of a Modi return.

Alas, god’s will is different. Modi is a genuine believer. He practices his religion with pride. Yet, he has risen above in respecting other religions, no matter his refusal to wear Muslim toupee is considered ‘communal’. Ridiculous. Pakistan has been playing this sponsorship game for too long. India has been ‘resilient and patient’ far too much for our size, strength and national pride. That is where the difference lies.

Modi offered his friendship with sincerity to Pakistan. He called Nawaz Sharif for his swearing in. He made an unscheduled stop over too. Hoping against hope, Modi’s extended arm was unlikely to be seen as weakness in both countries. Alas, while India was willing, the Pakistani army could not see beyond the animalistic animosity to the very idea and existence of India.

And when Uri happened. Modi showed his mettle. Quietly yet firmly he orchestrated the surgical strike to demonstrate that India Today was different and not as pusillanimous as earlier perceived. He hit Pakistan hard where it hurts and in the language they understand. And the Mahagatbhandhan logs mocked at the surgical strikes as #Fakenews, lowering their standards to the very nadir and ignoring the insults they were heaping on our proud armed forces. Typical.

Remember he the public intellectual, Mani Shankar Aiyar, a self confessed acolyte of the dynasty and he of the chaiwalah jibe in 2014, even urged the Pakistanis ‘to remove Modi’ on a visit there. Modi stood stronger and taller after Uri. But Pakistan had a myopic vision assuming that the world would continue to wink at India’s continuing travails with terror strikes. Times they have changed and how.

Pakistan possibly believed that a Pulwama and caskets with bodies of soldiers would weaken Modi’s resolve and his position on the eve of 2019 elections. They did not bargain with a different India and distinct leader who would not hesitate to speak a lingo that Pakistanis would understand.

Modi’s India has spoken. Loud and clear. Pulwama was not Modi’s making as Mamta Didi shamelessly alleges. It was Pakistani Perfidy and the world today needs no evidence beyond reasonable doubt for it requires no rocket science to see Pakistani for what it is. A rogue state with terror outfits as state actors.

No wonder the tide has turned. Mahagatbhandhan can pack their bags. They may yet tell that Election Commission may announce elections earlier to suit Modi and the Every Vote Matters ( EVM) would be rigged. They can start counting their excuses for they have lost the game- fair and square – in the high stakes power field.

That Modi towered above all others was no huge tribute for he was ‘a giant among pygmies in the opposition’, as a wag put it. He stood tall for his selfless and no family aggrandisement at play. Rest were nepostist to the core and many ‘out on bail’. He was working hard and striving for Swacch not of the environment but of mind, body and soul to infuse the self-belief we dearly looked for.

Yes, the tide has turned. There is now zing in his step which we all saw and loved in 2014 amidst a paralytic State. Pakistan will pay a heavy price, for its perfidy has gone too long. It is not pay back time but nemesis time.

And we are lucky to have Modi at the helm when it most mattered. Pakistan has grossly underestimated Modi and his India. May have thought that the cacophonous media stories on a wobbly Modi were true, for their own discomfiture.

Thank You Pakistan. You have taught us all who we need to have as our leader. More than us, hope the Mahagatbhandhan has been taught a lesson they will not forget. To underestimate the power of a transformed Modi’s India.

The least that is expected of the Mahagatbhandhan is to realise the futility of their hanging on and spreading canards and quickly get back to saving their individual camps lest the mother of all surgical strikes in 2019, reduce them all, to the rumps, they deserve to be.

Looking beyond the document- The SDGs

0

The Sustainable Development Goals are indeed a bright, new agenda serving as a prelude to an illustrious vision of transforming our world by 2030. It is an ambitious project that has immense potential to eradicate any obstacle in the path of national, international and human resource development. On the eve of 25th September 2015, 193 countries signed this international agenda, attempting to take forward an endeavour for international sustainability and progress. However, a perceptible result is yet to be seen and may take a report covering many years’ time.

Even though the SDGs do the job of penning down global issues wonderfully, it instructs little about “how to progress”. The document has been result of the largest consultation in the history of the United Nations – a three year process involving 83 National surveys that covered 7 million people. But is a voice heard only through documentation? Or does it become a piece of literature, a textual reference for scholars? While for many, the SDGs are a ray of hope, they seem to be quite a “utopic vision” for others. With the aim of defining the future funding agenda for the international community with respect to the goals, the UN as yet needs to divert attention to the fact that multifarious resources may still be non-existent in nations or institutions, if not money.

It is important to note that the SDGs are, what I believe, an aggrandised version of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the rightful predecessors of the SDGs. Covering eight simplistic goals, the MDGs of September 2000 were successful in achieving a 50% cut-down in extreme poverty, 44% higher survival rate of mother and child during/ after child birth, 91% of the global population having access to clean drinking water and countries upping their contributions – as reported by National Public Radio, the USA. While the reported success of the MDGs could be attributed to creditable international participation and great fervour for climate action, what is also marked is that the efforts require were well-listed, patrolling was severe and of course, the simplicity of the MDG goals provided nations a sense of ability and willingness to work.

By the time the SDGs came into being, a perceived “threat” to national and international sustainability was the “large number” of SDG targets. Respondents of an interview taken among certain American students also expressed a desire for the SDGs to focus more on good governance as a tool for addressing social inequalities. Moreover, there is still scope for the SDGs to consider “Health” as a theme beyond a strictly biomedical perspective, and “clean energy” as a measure to mitigate climate action (both of which are two separate goals).

The beauty of the Sustainable Development Goals lies in their “universality”. Therefore, the most crucial concern is how to make people, institutions and governments care more about the Goals. An early checkpoint was the Global Partnership for Education replenishment in early February of 2018, co-hosted by Senegal and France, followed by Global health funding replenishments (including for the Global Financing Facility) in the second half of 2018 and into 2019, as well as at the Spring World Bank/IMF Meetings in April 2018. Now, the world awaits stronger community/ government-based actions to mitigate the noble cause of the SDGs.

Why are INDIA and BHARAT different?

0

The global community refers to the nation cuddled between the lofty Himalayas in the North and the playful Indian Ocean in the South, blistering Thar to the West and the refreshing Monsoon forests in the East as INDIA, the name sealed on our foreheads by our colonial masters. Later, a BHARAT Ratna awardee Prime Minister did not have any objections to the same, and that’s how today, you and me identify ourselves as Indians.

But, you would say, how does it affect us? Be it Bharat or India, does it even matter?

Oh, yes, it so does. India is a new country, only 72 years old. Bharat, on the other hand, is at least 6000 years old. We need to know this because we are not Indians, we are Bharatiyas, an identity lost in the pages of so-called ‘Mythology’. Just saying ‘Jai Bharat’, is not enough until we realise what it actually means.

Bharat, the son of King Dushyanta is the great ruler after whom our great nation Bharat is named. This is the truest, oldest and the most accurate identity of our country. It was until recently, called by the same name. But, why was this name buried beneath the poisoned pages of our history textbooks written by communists? Why are we denied our actual identity?

The answer is very simple- to belittle HINDUS. The name Bharat reflects India’s glorious Hindu past, which undoubtedly gives burns to all breaking India forces. They attempted and were successful, in washing away our actual identity, and replacing it with a so-called ‘secular’ republic called INDIA, just so that Hindus would not be disturbed in their slumber. We didn’t identify this plot and guess what, here we are today unaware of our past, in the slumber of democracy, where the majority lives worse than the minority! Give it a few more years, BHARAT will be a tale of the past.

The western nexus has been doing this, the past 2 centuries. They, first study our culture, rubbish it by calling it ‘Mythology’ and ‘tales’, distort it to fit it into their narrative and sell their theory with the stamp of academians and push their Indian stalwarts to make us believe in their hypothesis, and that’s how generations after generations of deluded, unaware, and falsely educated youth become INDIANS.

The tragedy of our country is that even after getting independence, we chose to remain INDIA. Tell me, does the name INDIA, not remind you of our colonial past? Why do we wear this identity, as a reminder of our chained past? Why don’t we wear the badge of glory with the name of BHARAT? The truth is that the west still is our master, and we their slave. The Western nexus has very correctly judged India’s calibre and hence take every means and measures to make sure that we don’t realise the same. They know that if Bharat is rewaken, their days of glory would be numbered.

Sadly, no one makes a note of these things and continues to consume Western garbage. I don’t know how long it will be before we end our slumber, but I am sure when it will be, BHARAT will be unstoppable.

~RAM once said to Agastya, the saint, ‘Ravan and Bali were great warriors. However, neither was a patch on Hanuman. Nor could they do incredible things of the kind that Hanuman could.’
Agastya replied, ‘Hanuman was unaware of his own powers because of a curse. All the powers that the deities had given him when he was a child had made Hanuman a conceited person. He began to trouble the Rishis. After a while this became unbearable. So, two Rishis, called Bhrigu and Angiras, put a curse on Hanuman. They said, “We cannot take away your mighty powers. Therefore, we will cause you to forget that you have these powers. For a very long time may you be unaware of them.” And that is what happened.~

I know my audience is very capable of understanding this symbolism.

On why we shouldn’t be bothering what Pakistani Government & Media is saying

0

Napoleon have said that there is one figure in rhetoric of serious importance namely, repetition. Pakistan government which have denied the “surgical strikes” and rubbished it as “figment of imagination of India”, have repeated it at several instances. Now after the retaliatory strikes by Indian Air Force, Pakistan have again denied any terrorist casuality. But in fact agreed that Indian Air Force have crossed the borders.

The response of Pakistan army should be seen as a natural self-defence. But one should not be bluffed by the Pakistan Government propaganda. A lot of people still consider the Indian war records only after cross-checking it with Pakistani records to see if both align. Some even choose middle ground or neutrality to appear “rational”. It’s a great quality to possess. But there is a catch.

Illusory truth effect/ reiteration effect, a tendency of people to believe information to be correct after repeated exposure, a phenonmenon identified by Villianovia University and Temple university.

The Pakistan government which have control over the press uses the “Illusory truth effect” technique to “indoctrinate” their people that whatever India says is “untrue” and no information that with Indian roots should be trusted. Pakistani Media is used as a tool by the Government to “repeat lies”, and spread their agenda. So Pakistani media should be rubbished as a propaganda tool.

Also, we have to buy a pair of shoes of Imran Khan’s size and look at world to have a better view. Pakistan have a lot to lose than to gain if they accepted that “terrorists were neutralised” by Indian air strikes. That would expose Pakistan as a perpetrator of terrorism and as “save haven” for terrorists. This could mean “sanctions” and global isolation. And China, yes, the mighty China would be forced to disown Pakistan for the time being.

The initial estimates of current retaliatory strikes are around 200-300 casualities. This is an estimate and a clearer picture will appear within days. But once the media attention-and-tweet-rain settles, the ones who address themselves as “liberals” and “rationalists” of India will be caught by the “Pakistani propaganda” and raise skepticism over the occurance and magnitude of the retaliation. They would even venture to call it politically motivated and a ‘election campagin’.

There are historic accounts to back up claims that “Pakistan lies”, that too in an appalling and detestable manner. Not only to world but also to themseleves. Pakistan is a nation which even “denied” their involvement of their Army in Kargil War of 1999, and refused accept the dead body of their own Army men. And it was Indian Army who buried the body of the Pakistani Soldiers who were disowned by their own nation. They lied, repeatedly and pathologically, to deny their involvement, and termed their own soldiers as “terrorists”. So how can we even expect Pakistan to accept that their “proxy-armed forces” were neutralised ?

So any attempt to cite the Pakistani army reports and media reports to spread skepticism on whether or not the attacks have hit the targets should be refuted with historic sense and conscience.

DMK will be knocked out and AIADMK+PMK+BJP will go with the cup

0

Writing on the wall is clear, conspicuous, obvious, vivid and lively that single party governance in Tamil Nadu has come to an end. The dream of Stalin to become Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu through the victory of DMK look bleak in future and which may be possible only if many other smaller parties support DMK to form a coalition government in the state.

The decision of PMK to align with AIADMK + BJP alliance is seen by many not only as a matured and statesmanship centric decision but also as a shrewd and well-articulated political decision. By strengthening the victory of Stalin and DMK and increasing the cult of personality of Stalin is unwise for PMK or any other political parties in Tamil Nadu.

A stable DMK and strong Stalin will do no good for the political ambitions of PMK or for that matter, any other political parties in the state.  However some political parties have conceded the truth that they can remain only as a climber and can never become a tree so they need either a host or shade, therefore they have pledged and dedicated their party to Stalin. But PMK is an emerging political force in Tamil Nadu and the Dr. Anbumany Ramadoss is proven to be matured, wise, credible and progressive in his thinking.

Based on the arithmetic and chemistry of political ethos, AIADMK alliance looks brilliant on the ground and may win as many as 25-30 seats. The forth coming election will certainly deem the status of congress party to a mere fringe political force in India, however congress has made Stalin to surrender to congress in Tamil Nadu and that is why DMK has parted good number of seats to congress.

The interesting part of the story is that Stalin claims the AIADMK, PMK alliance to be unholy, principle-less and opportunistic without looking at own face in the mirror. When Sri Lankan war broke out, DMK was in power in the state and also was a partner in the then central government lead by congress. DMK did nothing to stop the war and finally broke the alliance accusing congress to be anti-Tamil. Congress in the past has accused DMK to be a partner in Rajiv Gandhi assassination but today they are political friends. 10% reservation to the economically weaker section of people from general category when Prime Minister Modi introduced, congress supported the bill but DMK opposed it with tooth and nail but the same DMK doesn’t have any problem with congress to form an opportunistic alliance.

The gene of the DMK is anti-God, anti-Hindu and anti-Brahmin. The president of Congress party, Raghul Gandhi is running after one temple to another, proving his Siva Bhakti, Brahmin identity, Gotra, Cow protection, but Stalin has no problem in proposing the name of the same Brahmin for the Prime Minister candidate of India. Stalin has problem only in the alliance of AIADMK with PMK.

Ever since DMK came to power in 1967 and then AIADMK being formed by MGR, only DMK or AIADMK has come to power. However in all occasions, AIADMK was a majority government whereas once DMK was a minority government and after which till date DMK has not yet tasted power.

DMK in the next state election has to accommodate several political parties and must accept the absolute truth that only a coalition government is possible in future and DMK cannot win the state all alone. DMK have to agree to the demand and must dance to the tunes of other political parties if DMK wish to form next government.

Being away from power for last 10 years, DMK may agree to any demands of other political parties like how congress party is continuously kneeling, bending and prostrating before several regional parties and Tukde Tukde gangs for power. Such political shift would naturally strengthen AIADMK. DMK can challenge AIADMK only by forming a grand alliance and which will certainly go in favour of AIADMK politically although may not be electorally. Such compulsion would weaken the DMK. Why should VCK and other parties fulfill the Chief Minister of ambition of Stalin without taking their pound of flesh i.e., equal share in governance.

To ensure equal share in governance, VCK and other parties may even limit DMK from contesting minimum number of seats required to cross halfway mark in the assembly. Even if DMK win all the seats it contests during the next assembly election, it cannot form government without the support of alliance partners.

The regional parties are attempting to form a khichdi government at the centre is very well going to happen in the states as well where the fringe forces in the states are going to weaken the main regional parties in different states.

The indications are quite clear that single party rule by DMK is over. During next assembly election, anti-incumbency will bother the present dispensation. But it is equally not going to favour DMK or other smaller parties in Tamil Nadu. A hung assembly or coalition government by several smaller parties alone is only going to be possible. Like how the several regional parties are trying to cause instability in India by attempting to form a government of greed, dynasty, nepotism and corruption, the same regional parties are going to face the same fate in the respective states from other smaller groups within those states.

Only way Tamil Nadu can be saved is by joining hands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, integrate TN with the ethos of one India where the vision of Amma and leadership of PM Modi will govern the state and not the dynastic forces.

Hope the politics of progress, positivism, development and sab ka vikas will win over the politics of dynasty, nepotism, scams, corruption and anti-God.

Let us be proud of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The pre-emptive “non-military” action of Indian Air Force strike inside the territory of Pakistan’s control, destroying the terror camp should not been seen merely as retaliation to the attack by Pakistani terrorists in Pulwama killing several of our jawans, but the action should be seen as India’s commitment to make the world safe and free from terrorist operations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi always displayed and deliberated his roles and responsibilities more as a statesman, a patriot of humanity, a champion of world peace, harmony and brotherhood, a leader who has enshrined his heart and head into development of India and achieve sab ka vikas.

On the contrary, several opposition political parties in India love to play petty politics than having any concern for our national security. That is why several party men of the dynast had lavishly skewed praises for various Islamic terrorists in the past.

PM Modi has decided to teach not only the terrorist organization but also the Pakistan for nursing terrorism and supporting cross border terrorism in India. Pakistan has become the principal terrorist exporting country in the world which needs to be condemned by all neighbouring nations including China.

PM Modi has taken up the lead to dismantle the terrorist network working in Pakistan soil.  In fact Pakistan must thank Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for destroying the terrorist organization in Pakistan which Pakistan was incapable of destroying it. In fact, the Prime Minister of Pakistan must personally thank our PM and must request the help of his to destroy all terrorist organizations that are operating in Pakistan. If Pakistan dare any other misadventure that would further isolate the country and would destroy it forever.

Most countries in the world have recognized the commitment of PM Modi for world peace and development of humanity. Hope millions of Indians also would recognize the above truth and would accordingly exercise their franchise in favour of India’s development and sab ka vikas in 2019 and not the vikas of a dynasty, corruption, nepotism and instability. No country in the world has supported Pakistan and most of the countries are asking Pakistan to act against terrorist organizations that are operating in Pakistan.

Pakistan military think tank should not confuse the non-military strike of Indian Air Force as retaliation or exhibition of muscle power but instead they must gracefully thank India for helping Pakistan to destroy the terrorists. Post Pulwama attack, world was watching Pakistan would act against terrorist organizations based in Pakistan but Pakistan continued its denial and continued to support cross border terrorism. India was left with no choice but to act firmly and swiftly.

The non-military strike of Indian Air Force should not be seen as an act meant only for India but it is meant for global peace and harmony. Destruction of every terrorist organization in any part of the world is essential for global community to live peacefully and hence the mission of India should not be reduced as an act for self-defence.

India is bound to defend itself and has the right to act firmly against those who harm India but PM Modi has measured every action of India not just for the sake of India alone but for the world community as well.

The Prime Minister believes in the famous Hindu ethos “Vasudhaiva kudumbakam” (the world in one family) as stated in Maha Upanishad.

Several minority communities in India must recognize the truth that PM Modi is the leader of the universal peace, harmony and development. He is lover of humanity and not the lover of any particular religion or caste or community. He is the follower of truth and sanctity, missionary of tranquility and sab ka vikas.

Minority communities will be safe in India when Narendra Modi is in power and not the dynast.  The dynast’s party has just used the minority communities only as mere vote bank and has done nothing whereas PM Modi is focusing on sab ka vikas.  Let us be proud of such Prime Minister of our country.
