ASAT, ABM and the shifting Nuclear Paradigm

PM Modi on March 27, 2019 addressed the nation and spoke about the successful Anti-Satellite Weapons (ASAT) test. I heard what he said, word by word, but did not understand the significance of his speech.

I was getting exactly the same feeling that I got when he announced demonetization on Nov 8, 2016. It took me a lot of time and research to understand the impact of demonetization. You could have a look at one of my articles: Modi gov’s surgical strike(s) on Black Money, you won’t be disappointed.

It took me quite a few days and a lot of reading again to get a clue of what the geo-political implications of his 10 minute address would be.

So coming back to ASAT, what is hiding behind the Anti Satellite Weapons (ASAT) test?

ASATs are designed to incapacitate or destroy satellites for strategic military purpose. Although, their role look different to a BMD or Ballistic Missile Defense, which is a system involved in the detection, tracking, interception, and destruction of attacking missiles. Originally conceived as a defense against nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). But both these systems have major technological overlaps. A deployed Anti-Ballistic-Missile (ABM) system could be made to behave like an ASAT system. This is a well documented fact. A book titled “Arms Control in Space: Workshop proceeding” which basically documents the proceedings of a workshop held on Jan 30-31, 1984. The book mentions a lot of scenarios where ABM and ASAT technologies overlap. For example, in case of a mid-course BMD, the trajectory of missile re-entry vehicle while outside the atmosphere is similar to a satellite orbit i.e. a clear overlap between ASAT and mid-course BMD systems. In fact as real life examples, Soviet Galosh ABM system was not designed as an ASAT but did have capability for satellites in orbits similar to Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) trajectories. Not only Soviets did this, the US miniature Homing vehicle ASAT evolved from a design that was intended for midcourse BMD.

ABM systems have treaties in place, there are strict rules that must be followed, however, the ASAT systems don’t have as many rules and treaties.

If we look at India’s ASAT system in consideration, it could also be said that it is something of this sort. The radar, the data and communication links of the DRDO-designed ballistic missile defense (BMD) system were deployed across a wide ground span which effectively tracked the entire satellite interception by the ASAT missile. However, the missile used in ASAT test was explicitly designed by a team of around 150 scientists over the period of two years i.e. after the test was officially given a go ahead in 2016. (Yes, this was not an election gimmick done by BJP government as claimed by many, the government gave its go ahead in 2016 and not in 2019 just before the elections.)

In addition to this, Dr. Avinash Chander, former Chief of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said that no formal ASAT programme had been taken up earlier. He also mentioned that existing booster and kill vehicle of the BMD program has been adapted for the ASAT missile.

India’s ASAT test validates India’s successful BMD system. The greater significance of ASAT lies in technological spin off for phase II of BMD where DRDO seeks to intercept longer range missiles at higher altitude. ASAT has its uses and importance, but it is a deployed BMD which has far more significant and deeper consequences. It changes the complete narrative or discourse for some countries in Asia.

Now coming to the interesting part.

A journal published by Ashton B. Carter “The Relationship of ASAT and BMD” quotes a very interesting but hypothetical scenario. He says–

The United States deploys an ASAT system consisting of fifty land based missiles carrying infrared homing vehicles. The Soviets worry that these fifty interceptors can be used against missile warheads along with the satellites. Fifty warheads is a small fraction of a  Soviet arsenal of thousands, however, the US, in case of a nuclear war, could defend a handful of targets (with strategic importance) selected by the Soviets — for example a few airfields capable of servicing US command posts and bombers, a ground command post, etc. This would be substantial annoyance for Soviet planners, since they would have to use not one but several warheads for each selected target so as to be confident of destroying  the target.”

How does this scenario relate to us?

You might have guessed it correctly but I will still explain. If you are forgetting, we have a very friendly “we have the atom bomb and it is not for showcase” friend. That is Pakistan! They literally have only one answer to every question and crisis – “the bomb”. Pakistan suffers from Obsessive Nuclear Compulsive Disorder (O’N‘CD).

As per “a normal nuclear Pakistan” by Toby Dalton and Micael Krepon, Pakistan produces around 20 nuclear warheads annually against India’s five. With this rate of production Pakistan would become the third country with most number of warheads after the US and Russia in one decade. They have already surpassed Indian in the tally of nuclear warheads. Not only this, the country also has a larger stockpile of weapons grade fissile materiel. Even though, India could have more of both the weapons grade fissile material and nukes, it uses most of the fissile material as reactor grade and for naval propulsion.

What is their policy to decide how many nukes are enough? What is the number they are looking for?

India has a strict “no first strike” policy and Pakistan has refused to sign any such policy i.e. India can never use nukes before Pakistan however, Pakistan can and probably will. In the beginning Pakistan’s nuclear doctrine was “minimum credible deterrence” which actually made some sense as the country had a relatively weaker conventional military force as compared to India. However, in the course of last decade or so, they seemed to have dropped “minimum” from their doctrine and moved on to “full spectrum deterrence”. This effectively means that they do not want to give India any chance of a second strike as well i.e. when Pakistan attacks first, it should be able to target and destroy every part and not leave a single base from where India could launch any kind of attack in its defense.

Shaheen III, a nuclear capable missile with the range of 2750 kms in their arsenal is a shining example of this doctrine. The sole reason they used to justify it is that it would reach the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which is a part of India, covering all of the India.

In fact Pakistan has lowered its threshold of its nuclear use option to such a level where it has a missile “Nasr” with a range of 70 kms. They are gathering nukes as if they are not nukes by noodles.  Be it Babur land attack cruise missile which had a range of 700 kms, or Ra’ad air launched cruise missile which had a range of 350 kms or anything else.

The truth is they carry their  Jihad under the nuclear umbrella. Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT), who is based in Pakistan orchestrated Mumbai 2008 attack. India could not react because they said “we have a bomb“.  Same in 2001, LeT and JeM(Jaish-e-Mohammed) both based in Pakistan attacked Indian Parliament and India could not do much because “they had the bomb”. Why didn’t India use Air-force in Kargil in 1999? In the beginning, Pakistan did not even accept the fact that they were involved in conflict. According to the them Kashimiri Militants/insurgents were involved. Later, when India proved the presence of Pakistani soldiers, they again had the bomb.

But now, with PM’s ASAT speech, they and every one else along with them know that India has a functional BMD. They are at the same place mentioned by Ashton in his hypothetical scenario for Soviets. They don’t know if they would be able to hit the targets at all. They don’t have BMD or ASAT. They know if they fire first, officially wage a nuclear war with India and fail to hit the targets, India (in its self defense) would be able to hit them with their nukes right away. Their bluff has been called. Their nuclear blackmail is now a thing of past.

Going forward they will now have to choose one of the two options:
First, they would  have to let go of their “Bleed India by thousand cuts” doctrine i.e. stop Kashmir Insurgency and stop supporting terror groups that target India.

Or,  Second, they need to pump in money, a lot of money. Money enough to buy/produce several nuclear warheads for each target they aim for along with the latest and state of the art weapons/carriers. They have already been putting in a whooping $2.2 billion annually on nuclear weapons and that’s just nukes and not the complete defense spending. They have recently asked for their 22nd loan from IMF. 30.7 percent of Pakistan’s government expenditure is earmarked for debt servicing. Their Finance Minister  Mr. Asad Umar claimed that the country is near bankruptcy.  The US, who had been providing financial aid all those years have stopped/reduced the funding. Their economy is in complete ruins. Where is the money going to come from?

Their hunger for nuclear weapons began in 1971 after they had to face humiliation after surrendering 90,000 PoWs along with giving up East Pakistan. They realized that conventional forces won’t cut the deal. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had said “we will eat grass but we will have nuclear bombs“. If they continue with the second option, they will not only have to live with what Mr. Bhutto had said but also face a civilian crisis similar to the one they faced in East Bangladesh. The money has to come from somewhere. You could guess the ways. I think civilians would be exploited which would lead to unrest or civil war. Maybe there would be more regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or Balochistan aggressively looking for their freedom. What do you think?

I never wish ill for any body or country, but I also never imagine a mushroom cloud view from my window EVER.

This test was the last nail in the coffin. We just have to wait and watch!!! #ModiHaiToMumkinHai

Dr. Manmohan Singh – with all due respect, can you please just retire already?

0

Dr. Manmohan Singh,

This country and its citizens have given you the love and respect way beyond what you deserved.

This country gave you the credit for the long due historic reforms of 1991 even at the cost of the then PM PV Narsimha Rao, who was the political will behind those reforms and if we have learnt anything about politics in last few decades, that is what matters the most when it comes to taking big decisions because everyone knows what is the right thing to do but very few have the will and gumption to do it.

The citizens of the country never considered you corrupt and even forgave you for presiding over one of the most corrupt regimes in the world. They never questioned your integrity for even a bit even when scams after scams were coming into public domain day after day – 2G, Coalgate, CWG, Augusta Westland, Bank NPAs to name a few.

People even gave you a bigger majority in 2009 by believing in your honest and clean image, and your love for the country. They stood behind you like a rock even when you betrayed their mandate and let the goons and the corrupts run this country.

They raised their voices in your support when your own party was humiliating you every other day. They sided with you even when you embarrassed the highest constitutional post of this country by letting Rahul Gandhi to try and become a hero by tearing the ordinance passed by your cabinet.

People had many questions but they waited patiently for you to answer them and remained quiet when you chose not to. They did all this and even more because they believed that you are a patriot who just isn’t cut out for politics.

But how long are you going to test the patience of the people of this country? How long are you going to continue to speak for the people who have looted, divided and weakened this nation since a long time?

You chose to keep quiet when you were sitting on the most powerful seat of this country, hiding behind a philosophical argument “History will judge me kindly”, but you seemed to have found a voice in last few years since 2014.

You termed Demonitisation as “Organised loot and plunder” despite being an economist yourself. It was a political statement, not of an economist. Where was this politician when he was needed the most in all those years? If demonitisation was loot then what 2G, CWG, Coalgate were? Were they social schemes to help the richest of the richest of this country?

People, though they disagreed, still respected your opinion and even the leaders in the government refrained from attacking you other than a clever “raincoat” quip from the PM himself.

You gave legitimacy to the opposition’s fake campaign of “intolerance and lynchings” when you spoken at length about their increase since 2014. I wondered at the time why didn’t you speak even half this much on your government.

You went on to give many more political statements in last few years, more than ever you gave as the PM. But still people did not question you much and ignored it due to the respect they have for you.

But you are pushing the boundaries every now and then. And I don’t know for how long people will hold back. This time, you have crossed a red line by bringing Army and the defense forces into your rants. You claimed that your government had conducted multiple “Surgical Strikes” in your tenure and slammed Narendra Modi for using military operations for political gains.

Manmohan Singh Ji, you know better than anyone else what is the difference between a “Tactical Operation” and a “Surgical Strike”. DGMO categorically mentioned the word Surgical Strikes while briefing the media for the first time after the strikes. Later also, DGMO clarified in an RTI reply that no Surgical Strikes happened before 2016.

Citizens of this country do not take lightly to when you say the defense forces of the country are lying. Please ask all the opposition parties ranging from your own party Congress to AAP, TMC, SP, BSP and many others. You can bash the government as much as you want for taking credit for the strikes but you cannot question or belittle the country’s armed forces – which perhaps is the only institution this country has never lost faith in.

If you start parroting the lies and falsehoods of your political masters unashamedly then this country might start asking you some very uncomfortable questions which would be very difficult for you to answer starting with “What is your obligation or ‘majboori’ which made you keep quiet for 10 years and is making you speak in last 5 years?”

For all our sake, stop testing the patience of the people and enjoy this responsibility free phase of your life without burdening yourself with the opposition’s politics and stop lending your personal integrity to these campaigns, after all political currency is limited. Please do not waste it for perpetual liars and royal brats.

So, please do all of us a favor and retire for real!

With All Due Respect and more.

Congress to use AI powered Virtual Rahul Gandi to give Interview to the media houses

0

Recently there was a buzz in social Media after the announcement of the Interview of out on bail Congress president Rahul Gandhi to a leading Media House. It was observed that the BJP supporters were thrilled with this news and all the BJP IT cell members were told to make sure the bytes of the interview were shared on all the social media platforms as they believed this Interview alone can help the BJP to win with full majority as in 2014 Rahul Gandhi and Arnab Goswami did. While the BJP supporters were anxiously waiting for the Interview the Congress supports were nervous as they were aware how Rahul Gandhi interview could end up helping the BJP.

But the promised Interview was never released, instead a text interview was published on the news portal. As per our sources in the media, the interview was such a big disaster that Rahul Gandhi pleaded with folded hands to the media house to not to publish the interview and the media house had to scrap the whole interview. The media house even deleted the tweets wherein they announced the interview as mega explosive and most in-depth interview, but the BJP supporters were quick to take the screenshot of the same.

The news of the missing interview spread rapidly in the social media and the BJP supporters were quick enough in trolling the congress over it. The congress being concerned about the image of its out on bail party president Rahul Gandhi decided to use the technology to overcome this embarrassment.

Last year, china came up with this idea of AI-Powered Virtual News Anchor. The AI news anchor can simulate a number of human-like traits for e.g. tweak its voice, facial movements and gestures to present a life-like image of a human presenter. Taking a cue from this the congress decided to get an AI powered Virtual Rahul Gandhi. The contract has been awarded to Bogou, the search engine and AI giant from China and the company has promised to deliver the AI powered Virtual Rahul Gandhi before the next phase of polling.

The congress is happy over its decision and confident that the new AI powered Virtual Rahul Gandhi can answers the interview questions with out fumbling thus saving the party from the Big Embarrassment. The party also requested the AI giant Bogou to add some additional features like, it should say “चौकीदार चोर है” after every line it completes and conclude all his statements with “ नरेंद्र मोदी ने अनिल अम्बानी को 30000 करोड़ दिए ”. With the AI Virtual Rahul Gandhi in Place congress has  now accepted the dare given by Narendra Modi of saying “Vishveshwarya” 5 times. After the success of the interview the congress party plans to do all the rallies for the remaining phases using the AI powered virtual AI while congress president parties in Thailand.

I am a Hindu and my religion made me human!

0

I was pained to hear that Mr. Sitaram Yechury felt that Ramayana and Mahabharata are books of violence and by association all Hindus are violent. I wasn’t surprised by his statement though. It was expected but what was unexpected was the deafening silence around that statement. There wasn’t an outrage at equating books I consider sacred and holy to terrorism. I felt like going upto him and slapping him hard and beat some sense into him. But then that would perfectly fit into their narrative of a violent Hindu. So I took recourse to the one thing a true Hindu believes in. Informed debate.

So let me talk about the things I learned from the epics called Ramayana and Mahabharata. For arguments sake let us consider Rama not to be a God but just an ordinary human being. Now what did this ordinary human being achieve that made billions of Hindus worship him as their God? I remember when I was a kid and I had fever, I felt terrible. I went upto my mom and complained that I wasn’t feeling good and she used to hug me tightly and assured me not to worry and asked me to chant of lord Rama in my mind and go to sleep. The chant might just have been a placebo to calm my mind or may be it was the warmth of my mother’s bosom or her love for me, whatever might be the reason, the name had a soothing effect on me as a child and I quickly went into a blissful sleep.

But this name piqued my curiosity. Why was this name so effective in curing me of my malady? So I did what I was taught to do by my parents. I started reading books. While reading these books it gradually dawned on me that they were not some random novels and after years of trying to understand and interpret them, the true essence of these epics dawned on me. They were the guide to a person wanting to choose a path. Lets take short version because discussing about these great epics can end into pages and pages of writing.

Rama was the first born kid of Dasarath and Kaushalya. He was known to be a person whose will could not be bent or broken. He was a dutiful son, a loving husband and brother. But what sets him apart from us mere mortals is the fact that he lived his life till the end for the benefit of others. Not once did he take a selfish decision. As a King he kept the welfare of his people above his and did not hesitate in sending the only woman he loved to the forest. Naysayers and critques will argue about his heartless decision or find some fault with the man. But those who have read the Ramayana in its entirety understand the true essence of it and those who want to belittle pick at something without the context of that event.

I am not here to argue with them. My point is, whether Rama is fictional or real, whether he is God or Human isn’t the debate but the values one can learn from him. And from Ramayana I learnt the importance of respecting your parents, the sincere love of a husband, brother and above all the importance of keeping the welfare of the Rajya you are a part of above everything else.

Now the Mahabharata, in short there are many things we can learn as this wasn’t a battle between two different kingdoms but between two sets of brothers. In this battle of Good vs Evil, one understands the path Adharma leads to. In fact, after the end of the war, no progeny from either the Kurus or the Pandavas survive except the son of the pregnant wife of Abhimanyu, Pareekshit, at the time of the war. All the warriors from either side except for 12 people were dead. It is at this point that Yudishtar laments about the cost of winning the war. Let me make one thing clear, even in the Mahabharata violence was used as the last resort and not the first choice of engagement.

That is how much we as a culture hated wars. And the Mahabharata taught me the consequences of the path of Adharma. I would definitely love to discuss in length about these two great epics but both these epics taught me the morality and ethics by which I have to live my life.

So if Sitaram Yechury is inspired by the violence in it, it is his understanding of the epic. But to potray his understanding and interpretation as the understanding of the majority of Hindus is blatantly false and reeks of malice. Jihadis understand what they want to understand and interpret from the Quran and become terrorists. So do some evangelical outfits which see violence in the Bible. It is their narrow minded understanding of a vast reservoir of knowledge. That is their problem and hence we brand them as such.

Now what seems to be the problem of Mr. Sitaram Yechury and how should we brand him for understanding two great epics to be a promoter of violence, I leave you with that choice.

Is Punjab swaying with Congress wave?

0

Contesting an election as a party candidate from the allotted constituency has everything a clever politician dreams of. The political parties demonstrate swiftness in giving the ticket to the actors as they carry a large number of fan-following. The crowd easily gathers in their public meeting. In view of such condition, the film actors do not hesitate in fighting the general elections.

Years ago, Amitabh Bachchan fought an election against Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna in Allahabad. His procession was never short of people while Bahuguna, a veteran politician, did not carry that much huge crowd as was seen with the famous actor in those days. At one time he was seen with a very scant people and a BBC correspondent in Kalyani Devi locality there.

Although the politicians take politics very seriously yet they also know how to gain victory on a seat by fielding an actor. This was the reason behind the entry of actors in the country’s politics. Therefore, everything is possible in the election. ‘Politics is serious business and not-pass activity,’ said the Punjab Congress president. While Jaya Prada in Rampur constituency thinks politics is different, and an election is fought with the mind, not with the soft, tender feeling. Both views can’t be wholly contradicted.

What Raj Kumar Chhabewal, the Congress party’s candidate from Hoshiarpur, was reiterating could turn aside also. He was saying that there was ‘Congress Cyclone’ in Punjab. The Bhartiya Janata Party has fielded Dharmendra’s elder son Sunny Deol from Gurudaspur.  Chabberwal appeared to be saying very confidently that the BJP could either field Sunny Deol or Sunny Leone; none could restrict the Congress wave in Punjab, referring to the party’s candidate Sunil Jakhar against Sunny Deol. There was the least chance of defeating the Congress candidate. How can a newcomer defeat a sitting lawmaker?

The Congress party also believes that Sunny Deol’s has no detailed knowledge about the constituency and its voters’ issues. The BJP candidate, as he, time after time, stated that he was only uttering dialogues from his movies. Could he be deadly sure of his specified views in regard to the likely failure of Sunny Deol in that famed constituency, if he was able to rightly define what precise politics means in the prime place?

Know the real problem of Raghul Gandhi, the great Dynast Naamdar, save India, elect Modi

Many Indians wonder what is the real problem of the dynast and why he cannot speak even a single truth in his lifetime and why he always utters statements that are totally false and fictitious Why the dynast always utters nonsense and displays his ignorance so boldly and bravely? The bigger joke is that after uttering all such nonsense and ignorant statements, the dynast often used to keep his face and body language ‘GREAT’; thinking as if he has won the Nobel Prize.

Ironically many the so called pseudo-journalists and self-appointed guardians of secularism in India whether purposefully and or ignorantly admire and worship all the stupidities and nonsense of the dynast. Dynast knows nothing but to tell lies and spread negativity is the general view of people about the dynast naamdar.

We must understand why the dynast behaves so funny and why no congressman is correcting or guiding the dynast to be more sensible than cynical?

The problem of the dynast is quite deep and cannot be changed. The bitter truth is that the dynast is yet to grow and mature in Indian politics but due to his legacy, even before he ripen, the top position has been given to him in the party. At the positional level the dynast the president of congress party but at maturity level, he is carrying the heart of a rat than a lion as it appears.

We must reflect one bedtime story being told by grandma to understand the dynast better.

Once upon a time a rat was living in a small village. Due to the constant fear of cats, the rat went to a sage and requested him to transform the rat to a cat so that it need not fear cats. Due to the kindness of the sage, the rat was transformed into a cat. But again the cat started to have the same set of fear that it used to have when it was a rat.

Again the cat went to the sage and requested him that the street dogs are always posing threat to its life so the cat may be transformed into a dog. Once again the sage showed his grace upon the cat and made into a dog. But again the same set of fear started to grip firmly onto the dog and the dog went to the sage and requested him to transform the dog to a tiger so that it need not have to fear about anything. As per the wish, the sage blessed the dog to become a tiger.

After a few days, a visitor had come to meet the sage and surprisingly it was the tiger with same set of fear and dissatisfaction. The new set of fear of the tiger was about the hunter. On hearing the same set of fear manifestations in the tiger, the sage finally cursed the tiger to become a rat as the rat was always carrying the same heart and head of a rat when it transformed into a cat, dog and tiger. So the rat is worth to live and die only as rat and it doesn’t deserve anything better.

Some people can’t change and won’t change. Rahul Gandhi is one such best example. When he became the Member of Parliament of congress party, became General Secretary, became Vice President and finally became the President, he displays same maturity level, leadership skill, ignorance and stupidity and has not shown any exemplary raise his stature, value system, clarity in his speech, honesty in his public utterances and wisdom in his facts.

Like the rat in the story how it remained as rat same even after the rat getting transformed into the tiger, so is the naamdar dynast.

Congress men would have supported the dynast with the hope that only the family can hold the party together but it is so shocking to note that the dynast is going to ruin all prospects of the party by continuously speaking lies and spreading negativity.

India has surpassed space and time in development and reaching great heights under Modi. Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister of India in the recent times has given clean and incorrupt governance, governance fully devoted and dedicated for development, sab ka vikas and national security. India can grow and achieve greater heights in development, economic supremacy and wellness only if Modi continue as Prime Minster of India and not the dynast or other tukde tukde gangs (regional parties).

India needs a stable government and decisive Prime Minister– Narendra Modi to lead the country towards fulfilling the aspirations and dreams of millions and millions of Indians.

How much more can we suffer this entitled prince?

0

The much publicised interview by the entitled Prince of India/UK/Italy to India Today finally happened. While there was his usual rhetoric about NYAY and how he is going to be the saviour of the masses with his self proclaimed entitlement he made one significant statement, which reveals the true nature of the man.

During the course of the RaGa fawning interview, the interviewer asks him a very simple soft ball question and RaGa being RaGa had to come out all guns blazing. When he is asked about the secret of his fitness, he answers by saying he runs 5 kms a day and goes on about persistence and everything. This is the moment he slips up and reveals his true nature. While trying to cite an example of his persistence he talks about the Incorruptible Modi and how he is going to rip his image to shreds.

Here is a man who is openly saying that he will rip someone’s character to shreds even though that said someone is known to be incorruptible! That is what entitlement gives I suppose. I mean you cant expect the entitled prince to understand the pain it takes to walk the life of being incorruptible in a corrupt system as he had everything served for him in a silver plate. I mean his family is a synonym for corruption.

So he felt it was ok to spray the ink of corruption on a person just for the sake of it. No justification required. I mean he said it himself. He persisted with it and the media fueled it. Although i doubt he succeeded in it, he still had the media waiting to lap up his next load of lies.

So how does one tell the entitled prince that just because he and his family have been corrupt and abused their power in every conceivable way including intimidating constitutional bodies, not everyone wants to live like them?

How does one make an entitled prince understand that unlike him or his family, who have used the constitutional institutions as their own personal fiefdoms doling out a favor here and there, the man he is trying to portray as the destroyer of democracy and its institutions, is actually the protector, who bowed to their powers even when he was a CM of Gujarat, when he was interrogated for more than 16 hours and yet he did not say a word against these constitutional bodies?

How does one make the entitled prince understand that India has had enough of these Prince and Princesses and that democracy is no place for them?

The first step lies in calling out these lies whenever he lies. But then the Pliant media hardly does that, but the power of social media is different and is far reaching. Make people aware of this entitled prince, who doesn’t mind dragging anyone’s name through mud as long as it serves his political agenda.

Lets call out their lies on the army, surgical strikes, development. Lets make them hear the voice of a nation fed up with these entitled prince and princesses and ensure that their cacophony is drowned in the voice of a United India which believes in progress and wants to root out corruption! Lets say enough!

The era of Bhasmasurs: Opposition’s every trick is back-firing them so well!

0

The elixir of knowledge that Indian texts and stories provide is so vast that you can find an equivalent for any socio-political-moral situation prevailing in the present in one of those sources. One of the stories is about an Asur by the name Bhasmasur who after his long “Tapasya” got a boon from God Shivji that on whomsoever he put his hand, that person would be burnt into ashes (Bhasm) and killed. Buoyed by the boon, he decided to kill the Shivji himself and started running behind him. Shivji had to ask for help from Vishnuji who took the avatar of Mohini to trick the Asur into putting his own hand on his head and thereby killing himself.

The reason I have mentioned this little tale from our ancient texts is because many of the Nationalists and right-wingers (for the lack of better word) used to ask themselves how would Narendra Modi be able to fight the deadly nexus of left-liberals-politicians-lobbyists-lawyers-judges-celebrities-journalists-intellectuals whose ecosystem had been holding the collective consciousness of this oldest and greatest civilization to ransom since many decades.

Created and nurtured since Independence by vested interests for whom the nation’s interest was not even in their thought process, this ecosystem had become a monster which even Vajpayee ji could not fight and succumbed to it. This ecosystem is nothing but an extension of the Mughal and Colonial mindset which used to look the people of this holy land with disdain and contempt, who needs to be civilized and governed. ‘Barbaric people with their barbaric religion’.

The reason people had hope from Narendra Modi because he had been the worst victim of this ecosystem for the last 12 years since 2002 and also because he won with a thumping majority so he could have ruled with an iron fist without the worry of upsetting any specific lobby.

But little did we know that this ecosystem would simply become suicidal and would crumble under its own hypocrisy because of their rabid hatred for the man who they tried to stop in whatever way they could from becoming the PM, even going to the extent of predicting mass genocides and riots all over the country to eliminate the minorities, specifically the Muslims, as soon as he becomes the PM. Such fear-mongering!

However, as the fate had it, Narendra Modi did become the PM in 2014. Suddenly, their oxygen supply, which they used to drive from the corrupt politicians, was cut off. On top of that, he started applying the rule of law without any special consideration. What a dictator! This further squeezed their dubious funding and illegal deals making them even more angry. How could they be treated at par with a common citizen of this country who they only look at with contempt and not worthy of their respect. Colonial Mindset, I tell you, has no logical explanation.

We have seen the masks fall of many of these faces who were hiding behind the cloak of neutrality and honesty across the sections of the society whether it be cinema, journalism, academicians, ‘experts’, bureaucracy, or judiciary. They kept exposing themselves; some soon, some late; and now today stands naked not only in front of the common public but in front of the highest court of the land. But the hate refuse to die and frustration keeps on increasing because of the lack of support from the ‘gawar’ public of this pious land.

Narendra Modi didn’t give them much of a chance to criticize his government in the last 5 years, he was also able to handle the genuine criticism like a seasoned politician. But how can that stop the ecosystem from playing their dirty tricks that they have been playing since ages against the likes of Morarji Desai, or Narsimha Rao, or Atal Bihari Vajpayee, or anyone else who was not one of their own. So they tried everything from Intolerance to Award Wapsi to lynchistan to rapistan to NotInMyName to Sahara Birla Diaries to Rafale to Judge Loya to Tukde tukde to university unrest to dalit uprising to farmer distress to personal attacks. They literally tried every trick in their book.

But the honesty, integrity and transparency of the PM was so high that more they attacked, more they exposed themselves. When nothing was working in the political and social arena, they diverted all their focus towards the Supreme Court.

They got 4 Supreme Court judges, one of them being the current Chief Justice of India, to come out in the open to say unsavory things about the then CJI Dipak Misra who was seem to be working against this ecosystem’s interests. Little did those 4 judges, Ranjan Gogoi in particular, know that they will not spare them also if they don’t act according to their whims and fancies.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi seems to have realized the pressures his predecessors had to deal with when he openly said that the constitution is in danger and SC has been overtaken by the court fixers, the ecosystem even tried to put these statements on the head of the government. Thankfully the current CJI refused to bow down to these ‘fixers’ and vowed to go to the bottom of the matter. I get nightmares thinking what would have happened if any other judge would have been in his place who was not so strong willed!

So this powerful ecosystem which everyone thought was a Goliath to be decimated seems to crumbling because of their hatred – as was the case with Bhasmasur. They stand exposed in political arena where many of them are on bail and being shown their place that they are not above the law. They are getting thrashed everyday on social media because of their lies, distortions and hypocrisy which is increasing its reach everyday thanks to Digital India, another reason to hate Modi. They are getting no public support whatsoever on the ground. And now, even the judiciary seems to have taken a special liking to them. They are simply not able to create the narratives that they used to build earlier with so much ease.

This noise will get louder after the election results. They are not going to go down without a fight. Post 2019, when Narendra Modi storms back to power once again, they will increase their decibel levels but we should remember the flame flickers the most when it is about to be extinguished.

Our job as a citizen is to stay vigilant, keep calling them out and most importantly, bring Narendra Modi back to power with a full majority, and we can just wait for this ecosystem to kill itself just like Bhasmasur did.
