What ails the Congress Party?

0

“Damned if we do, damned, if we don’t” This is the situation the Congress leaders all over the country find themselves in today. With the resignation of Rahul Gandhi as the Party President, it is a pity that a party which claims no dearth of capable leaders to take on the captainship of the party, is not able to appoint a permanent President, leading to a vacuum and a crisis which is developing day by day at a very crucial moment in the history of post-independent India.

There are many parties which are out of power for several years and even decades but there has never been any crisis at the top which points to the fact that without power, Congress cannot survive for long. It is not that there are no capable leaders to take the reins of the party but the problem is, all said and done, none of them has the pan-India appeal and recognition, as the Gandhi family has. But that may not be an impediment to steer the party from the bottom it has reached now.

The so-called leaders occupying powerful positions in the party are there not because of their support among the people but primarily due to their loyalty to the family. If a leader with a support base, though restricted to one or two states, comes to occupy the position at the top, these leaders will feel threatened.

The Congress leaders know very well that they cannot rely on Gandhi family for winning the elections but only regional leaders and negative votes against the incumbent government alone are winning the elections, if at all they win any, like in the case of Punjab and Chattisgarh. Even in Madhya Pradesh, the victory margin was precariously low, taking into consideration several years of anti-incumbency. All the electoral victories of the Congress party starting from 1980 onwards at the centre were on negative votes or sympathy wave, except for 2009 which was again due to a lack of credible face from the opposition.

However, now that the nation has a strong contender with a pan-India appeal, even dwarfing that of Indira Gandhi, the chances of the Congress party, with the Family at the helm of affairs, taking the party to the path of victory on their strength is next to impossible.

The problem for the party is no regional leader is acceptable to all other members of the party. There are strong contenders in Milind Deora, Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Scindia and even Capt. Amarinder Singh but other leaders will never allow a person with a mass-base to lead the party, fearing for their own feature. This is the dilemma the party faces itself in.

But it is the right time for the young Turks in the party to take a call on the feature of the party. If they revolt against the leadership, certainly there will be a vertical split and the split may spread to all the states but it will help the party to weed out the deadwood and rejuvenate the party towards the path of growth. If the family continues to keep the powers with them, then it will slowly sink into oblivion. The younger generations within the party obviously realize this and that is why they are coming out in the open and taking a stand against the stated position of the party but this is not enough.

Even if a person from other than the Family is appointed or selected or elected as the Party President, the real power will be vested with the Family alone and unless this is changed, the party cannot hope to grow at all.

Take for instance the BJP, wherein the post of President of the party and Prime Ministerial face are different and there is no friction over this. Any young leader who might be appointed as the President of the party will naturally hope to be the Prime Minister if, under his leadership, Congress wins any future elections to the Parliament.

With Rahul Gandhi proven as a failure, if he stakes claim to the post of Prime Minister solely based on the Family name, it will necessarily create tussle at the top and the Family knows this very well. For this reason alone, the Family will not allow any capable leader to become the President and they would prefer only a person without any mass-base and who will be loyal to the Family to take up the post.

The likelihood of any young and capable leader taking over as the party president is very bleak and I will not be surprised if, within a year or two, the party faces a revolt against the leadership and splits vertically all over the country. When, not if that happens, the only other pan-Indian party will be reduced to what remains of the Communist parties today. The moot question is whether the rebels will float their own party or join the only party where they can hope to grow.

Central University of Tamil Nadu grappling under insidious red terror

0

The communists spread anti-government and anti-development thought through lectures, talks, symposia and public gathering in the academia. They believe in a revolution of their own kind, and universities such as University of Hyderabad (UoH), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have witnessed the outbreak of insurgent conditions.

Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) is grappling under insidious red terror. The Left-leaning students supported by a group of faculty members leave no stone unturned to destabilize the administrative machinery. The red terror knocked the university premises for the first time sometime in 2015 when Left-leaning students attempted to take the mileage of Rohit Vemulasuicide case. The Left-leaning students pasted posters in the university mess hall and raised anti-establishment and anti-government provocative slogans.

The second outbreak was around the celebration of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Birth Centenary as per the instructions of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) vide notification MHRD – F.No.19-103/2017-CU-Cdn GOI dated 5th Sep. 2017. CUTN conducted various programmes such as Essay Writing and Elocution competition. The Left-leaning students stigmatized it as ‘academic saffronization’ and took out a rally with placards. Their main intention was to cripple the celebration.

On the eve of Women’s Day celebration, CUTN invited Ms Vanathi Srinivasan as Chief Guest. The invitation, backdrop and posters clearly stated her as a social worker and a senior lawyer at Madras High Court.

However, the Left-leaning students distorted the poster and claimed that the university invited the General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party of Tamil Nadu and waved black flags, tied black ribbons and wore black wrist bands. When the administration intervened into the matter, they demanded that the university should also invite some communist leaders. It has been observed on several occasion that these Left-leaning students don’t accept any office bearer other than the Left parties invited to the university. A source told that since BJP is extending organizational reach in Southern India, the Left front communist parties use the students as pawns for their political intentions. The Left-leaning students’ agitation on the eve of Women’s Day celebration is an indication of this communist nexus. It should be kept in mind that an individual can hold several responsibilities as Ms Vanathi Srinivasan holds, and she was therefore invited for having the versatile personality.

In the month of April 2017, Ajinomoto (Monosodium glutamate) was found in the Boys’ Hostel Mess. The students went on a protest. The Left-leaning students high-jacked the protest and started raising Azadi slogans. It testifies the presence of “Breaking India Forces” (one can remember the JNU students raising the slogan, “Bharat Tere Tukade Honge, Insha Allah! Insha Allah!” and Azadi slogans at AMU for slain militant Manan Wani) at CUTN and the Leftists are consolidating the grounds for the anti-nationalists.

A Kashmiri student named Aasif Majid has been well under the focus to be initiating Azadi slogans on mess issue. Sources have informed that this student feels a sense of proud pelting stones on our brave soldiers. What kind of education is been given at CUTN? Are we wasting tax payers money in breeding such dangerous anti-national elements?

To our utter surprise, instead of this student bringing Kashmir issue in CUTN and destabilizing the campus with a sense of terror, two of the Kashmiri students have been on a front page of a newsletter by a faculty from Media Department quoting “Study through Peace”. A source told that when the ViceChancellor came to speak to the students with feasible suggestions and pleaded for the resolution of the issue, the Left-leaning students refused all the proposals and mindlessly misbehaved with him. The university administration accepted the students’ demand for the immediate removal of the mess contractor; however, since the mess was closed and food was not available, the university administration issued an order for vacating the hostels.

The Left-leaning students hyped the matter and went on a night protest. Many students have observed that the students who participated in the night protest were provided with food packets brought from outside in a van. Here lies a big question: who are these people providing food to the students? A few students informed that on March 2018, Central University of Kerala (CUK) students went on a hunger strike over excess mess expenditure and the Leftist students at CUTN wanted a similar situation on campus. Some of these Leftist students expressed solidarity with CUK students on Facebook.

When the protest was taking ugly shape, ABVP activists intervened into the stalemate condition created by the Left-leaning students. The ABVP activists sought permission to meet the VC almost at midnight at the VC’s residence and requested to withdraw the order for vacating the hostels with a solution to run a separate mess. The VC acceded to the solution proposed by ABVP for the betterment of the students; however, ABVP’s active initiative in resolving the matter is yet to be acknowledged by any administrator or any student. Although the administration maintained a queer reticence in acknowledging the solution proposed by ABVP, the Times of India report enunciated the participation of ABVP activists. Sources told, a faculty drafted news reports (English, Malayalam and Tamil) and maintained contact with the media, and interestingly enough, all these reports project the inefficiency of the administrators.

Sources told a few students and administrators demanded action against the perpetrators who misbehaved with the VC and violated the university rules by going into night protest. The administration issued a charge memo against the students who violated the rules. However, some faculty members did not allow the administration to take necessary action. Why was no action taken?

The mess committee was consisting of the majority of students from Kerala. When some students complained about the regional bias in the mess committee and proposed for a decentralized reconstitution of it, the administration rejected the proposal claiming that reconstitution of the mess representatives might trigger fresh students’ uprising.

How can the Left go into a protest without indulging into any kind of violence? When the Left-leaning students came to know about the initiative taken by the ABVP activists, they attacked the ABVP activists in a drunken condition and posted uncouth calumny on Facebook. A complaint was lodged to the hostel administration, but the matter has been suppressed by the wardens and the university administration. The Left-leaning students still repeatedly attack the students who do not purport to their ideology, but the administration never takes any action against these delinquent students.

In a report published in a Leftist news portal The Wire, it has been alleged that while The Hind Club was allowed to screen Vivek Agnihotri’s Buddha in a Traffic Jam, the Leftist students through the Department of Media and Communication were not given the permission to screen. Anand Patwardhan’s Ram Ke Naam. Well, it is now exposed that the epicentre of Leftist operation is the Department of Media and Communication. It has been reported that some students from this department who do not purport to their ideology were psychologically harassed and were even given low marks.

Now coming to Buddha in a Traffic Jam and Ram Ke Naam as reported in the above Left portal. The former deals with socio-political issues such as corruption, naxalism, nexus of academia with Naxals (#UrbanNaxals), and crony capitalism. The latter deals with the controversial RamTemple and Babri Masjid issue in Ayodhya.

The issue is extremely sensitive and has triggered communal violence. Moreover, a case is with the Supreme Court and is awaiting the verdict. The Left is widely known for attacking Hindu religious sentiments and holding disregard for Indian culture, and the proposal to screen the film reveals the sacrilegious agenda of the Leftist students and faculty members of the campus.

Meanwhile, those Leftist students who proposed for the screening of Ram Ke Naam expressing intolerance towards Hinduism are seen actively taking part in organizing “Christmas Programme” at CUTN on December 14, 2017.  These students take the active initiative in organizing Onam celebration which is a Hindu celebration but object to Deepawali celebration claiming that the university cannot promote Hinduism.

While Onam is celebrated every year with full administrative and financial support from the university, Deepawali is denied permission by the Dean of Students’ Welfare. This attitude of the administration indicates regional bias. Since there is a substantial number of students from Kerala study at CUTN, the administration gives priority to their demands from the preparation of mess menu to the allotment of performers in cultural programmes. Although students from Odisha, Assam, Rajasthan and other states study in the campus, they are not allowed to perform regional cultural festivals. The administration casts a blind eye on the politics of exclusion practised on the campus.

CUTN News getting published in Left propaganda websites with distortion of facts prove the deep penetrations of the Leftist network. However, we are not pointing at the students but at ‘devil’s minds’ which are using the students as bait for their ulterior motive. A source told that the students are also well aware of the fact that a faculty puts the students in contact with media houses, drafts news reports and encourages students to involve with propaganda reporting.

Ululation of anti-national slogans makes it clear that there is a Maoist/Naxal network operating within the campus. These Left-oriented students are promoting anti-national mindset among the students chanting Azadi Azadi slogans. It is a well-known fact that the administration had been always soft to the Left-leaning students. A source revealed that a few among the faculty members, who are close to the VC misguide him and resolve the matter with ‘no action’.

The students consume alcohol and smoke cigarettes filled with marijuana. Some students have the phone numbers of local pedlars and pedlars even come inside the hostel and deliver marijuana packets and alcohol bottles. The source reported that the wardens are well aware of the facts. However, casual checking and raids are not planned by the administration because these students are their ideological flag-bearers.

Last but not least, these anti-national elements have recently created unnecessary chaos in the campus by pasting posters on the university walls unlawfully against the Presidential orders of scrapping Article 370 as well as 35A. It has been informed that the same student Aasif in collaboration with another student Sanju KS and Anandhakrishnan were seen provoking about 20-30 students on the same night of pasting the posters.

As this was brought to the notice of the Registrar and the VC by the CUTN unit of ABVP, an immediate circular was issued not to promote any activity that is against the integrity of India, inside the University campus. But, these shameless brats, not having a spec of respect for the University Administration, organized an unlawful gathering, misusing their freedom of speech on the topic entitled “Torn Kashmir”. It will be a shameful offence, if we nourish these antinational students in this country, it will be a threat to the future of this Nation.

The turbulent political condition of CUTN raises big questions: Is the administration encouraging anti-nationalism, naxalism and Maoism? Why are the university authorities not taking action against such anti-establishment and anti-nationals? Is someone running a sleeper cell? The nation needs to know the convolution of the academic environment by Leftist nexus and demands an investigation of the intelligence bureau.

The present hostel wardens are promoting left-leaning students. Many times, a warden belonging to the state of Kerala is seen roaming with the students of anti-national mindset. Though the term of hostel wardens has ended a year back, due to managing the authorities well, they get extension unlawfully. They get paid for the services of provoking students and consoling the authorities. The wardens enjoy the chaos.

Though the left-leaning student minds are chaotic they always manage to get news released through the unknown sources and with the help of the media department. The entire hostel committee is under the scanner of the nationalist students.

During the protest for the mess, left-leaning students manhandled the nationalist students. A complaint was lodged but the hostel authorities suppressed the matter. When 3 kg of cannabis was caught in the hostel, the warden belonging to Kerala played a vital role in concluding the issue. The university is promoting few left-leaning and faculty indulged in Christianity conversion knowingly. Nationalist supporters have been cornered by the present administration. The Vice-chancellor is in the mood to complete his tenure. Hence, he has adopted the policy of appeasing few faculty members. These faculty members play a vital role in safeguarding the students creating chaos in the university.

The future is ours!

India celebrated its 72nd year of Independence. Looking back through the history of 72 years, I realise that it was the time our country took to recuperate from an exhaustive Independence fight, which led to blatant nepotism, corruption and the general disarray of human life. Also in these 72 years, we have risen back from the ashes and have, as a nation, in one voice wanted to change the status quo. The results attained in the last five years of the NDA government is proof of that.

Yes, we have tolerated almost 7 decades of absolute idiocracy. As I said it was an exhaustive Independence fight and by the time we realised our fallacy of trusting dynasties to rule in a democracy, the rot had seeped into our very consciousness. Be it our unclean environment, or our general disregard for laws and country.

People were in a queue to get out of the country for greener and brighter pastures. The 80’s to the mid-’90s was proof of that. I remember an old song from a Kamal Hasan movie called Akali Rajyam. It goes something like this: “Sapatu etu ledu pata ayina padu brother….” The meaning of the song is: “Let’s sing since we don’t have anything to eat brother. In the capital city, every street is yours and mine brother. In an Independent country, death is also like marriage brother.” They say movies reflect the times we live in. As a reflection of what the society was like in a particular time period, movies are the best source material. The stories might be fictional but the society they depict is not.

So in one way, we can thank our FM of those times, Shri Manmohan Singh, who made one single greatest contribution to the Indian Society and for that, he shall always be remembered with fondness even though he presided over the most corrupt term as PM of our country.

The single defining contribution he made was opening up the Indian market for the world. The reason for doing so might also have been selfish. Presumably, the Indian market was starving and there was no big money for corrupt politicians to siphon off. Therefore they needed a fresh infusion of capital from somewhere to sink their teeth into. The opening up of our doors to the global market provided just that. The corrupt now could earn in foreign currency and become richer by the day. However, what it unwittingly also did was open up the information market. People who were blaming each other for the failing system suddenly had information in their hands. And suddenly Congress and all the other family-run parties lost their control over the masses.

Now as India has fresh energy, unlimited willingness and armed with information and knowledge, things are at last changing for the better. Tough questions are being asked. We refuse to settle for the consolation prize anymore. We want to be the best and we are not going to take excuses.

As for dynastic politics in a democracy. The answer is a resounding no. Consider the magnitude of what has been achieved in the past 6 years in this country. We have become cleaner. We have gone to Mars and now about to land on the moon. We have become one of the 4 nations to have A-Sat missile capabilities. We have built super fast trains. We have taken a pledge to eliminate corruption. We have opted for a digital economy to eliminate black money. We have faced the hardships of demonetisation to reboot our economy and eliminate counterfeit currency. We have implemented GST to become one Nation, one Tax. We have abolished Triple Talaq, thus empowering Muslim women in their quest for self-dignity. We have improved our efficiency in bureaucracy. We have improved our global standing. India is now looked at as one of the World leaders. We are no more looked at as a third world developing country at par with Pakistan. We have jumped way ahead and are now on track to land on the moon. The Armed forces finally getting state of the art equipment. And last not but the least, we have now become one nation by the rendition of Article 370 as ineffective. The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are now finally going to have only one constitution and that is the Indian Constitution. There are many other significant achievements and the list is quite exhaustive.

Yes, we have come a long way. From dreaming to fly away from the country in search of glory, we are now dreaming of flying to Mars. Yes, we have come a long way. From absolute dynastic tyranny to a meritocratic democracy. Yes, we have come a long way. From corruption as the way of life to following the law. Yes, we have come a long way. From absolute chaos of unfulfilled dreams and aspirations to the clarity of thought and purpose. Yes, we have come a long way. From selfish self-preserving interests to a nation willing to let go of their subsidy to provide for the poor. Yes, we have come a long way. From caste-based reservation to reservation to the economically downtrodden. Yes, we have come a long way. From subjugation of human rights and individual freedom to the liberation of a nation from Terrorism, nepotism and despondency. Yes, we have come a long way. From being cowered by the bloodthirst of terrorists to the Uri and Balakot strikes. Yes, we have come a long way. From two nations to one Nation.

It is still, however, too early to celebrate as this is just the beginning. Imagine what we can achieve in the next 10 years if our collective will is stronger than those who want to divide our nation for their own personal gains and self-serving agendas.

Article 370 and attempts to subvert Indian Democracy!

0

We have seen an outpour of emotions and arguments from all quarters since article 370 of the Indian constitution was amended on 5 Aug 2019. An overwhelming number of Indian citizens welcomed this as a historic decision aimed towards ending the status quo in Jammu & Kashmir. Since independence, J&K has been the most volatile region in the Indian subcontinent with India and Pakistan both staking their claims and both the countries controlling some part of the region.

Pakistan is leaving no stone unturned to paint the recent developments in J&K as genocidal and subverting people’s democratic rights. It is on an all-out media offensive with its entire propaganda machinery working to malign India and its democratic credentials.

A few people mainly related to Indian media industry have also raised their concerns over India’ move towards article 370 as an unconstitutional and undemocratic act by the BJP government. Let’s try to examine the merits of this argument and if the Government of India is really being undemocratic.

Among all the systems used for governing a state, democracy is widely considered the aptest. Though none of the governance models known today can be termed as flawless looking at how they have served people around the globe, still democracy is among the lesser evils or the most preferred.

India decided to opt for a representative form of democracy after it drafted the biggest written constitution known to the humankind. Citizens of India elect their leaders at various levels and the elected in turn form the governments with the duty to govern and make laws at various levels as representatives of the people. This system has a lot of checks and balances to prevent misuse of power. Also, the Indian constitution is arguably the most liberal document of its kind.

Article 370 has been a point of contention since its inception with Dr B R Amedkar, the chairman of the constitution drafting committee refusing to endorse it. Dr Ambedkar famously replied to Sheikh Abdulla, a Kashmiri leader: “You wish India should protect your borders, she should build roads in your area, she should supply you food grains, and Kashmir should get equal status as India. But the Government of India should have only limited powers and Indian people should have no rights in Kashmir. To give consent to this proposal, would be a treacherous thing against the interests of India and I, as the Law Minister of India, will never do it.” It is another story that article 370 was still adopted due to insistence from PM Nehru at the behest of Sheikh Abdullah without following the due constitutional process. Article 370 was termed as “temporary and transient” before being adopted which makes it anything but writing etched in stone, it means this article sooner or later had to go.

Article 370 basically accepted Jammu & Kashmir as akin to an alien entity within Republic of India, where Indian parliament had no jurisdiction to make laws and the state enjoyed a distinction of a virtually independent state within India. The rights given to minorities and women given by the constitution didn’t apply in J&K and no person outside was allowed to call J&K their home citing arbitrary citizenship rules. Thousands of scheduled caste Valmiki workers were constitutionally confined to only performing sweeping jobs because if they wish to do anything else, they would not remain residents of J&K.

According to many legal eagles, abrogation of Article 370 required only a presidential order. However, the present government has not only secured a presidential order but a cabinet approval, 2/3 votes in Rajya Sabha and more than 3/4 votes in Lok Sabha. To the people casting aspersions on the process, if this is not a constitutional process of making/amending laws than what is?

There is no other way prescribed in the constitution or any associated law for amendment in the constitution. So the question is why is it being termed as unconstitutional and undemocratic. It would not be unfair to say that people who call it such, either have little understanding of the law or are bigoted. Such individuals also seem to have no affection towards maintaining the territorial integrity of the Republic of India. J&K has unparalleled historic, military and strategic importance for India and we have rightly decided to fully integrate it and people who are trying to oppose this move seem to be the real perpetrators against democracy and the constitutional values.

Also, the people suggesting that this is BJP government’s sudden and arbitrary move can’t be any farther from the truth. This is anything but sudden, this is an unrelenting agenda of BJP even before it was founded in 1980. Abrogation of Article 370 is a core agenda since the foundation of Jan Sangh, the parent organization to BJP. If an agenda which is forewarned since decades can be called sudden than I can call myself a stillborn. The thing that opposition can’t stomach is them being outsmarted and an assumption that this will remain a perpetual poll promise and never a reality. Also, BJP secured a huge victory in 2019 with the abrogation of 370 as its main poll promise so people’s blessings are already with this decision. If this is not democratic and constitutional then it’s a wonder what is!

An awakening call for Hindus

0

Wake up, Hindus!

Thanks to our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi there has been a massive awakening of Hindus across Bharat and the world, an awakening to the systematic destruction of Hindu civilization over the past 1000 years, certainly accelerated by the British and further accelerated by the Nehru dynasty.

Nehru dynasty has in fact created institutions to destroy all facets to Hinduism. Wherever you look, you are surrounded by anti-Hindu forces – the media, the judiciary, the bureaucrats, academia, the entertainment industry, etc.

While social media has played a key role in exposing the anti-Hindu forces, there are still large sections of Hindus who are still in denial about their impending doom. The 4Ms – Marxists, Mullahs, Missionaries and Media, aided by the ‘Breaking India’ political parties such as Congress, TMC, DMK, etc. are on a major overdrive to destroy the sacred and cultural facets of Hinduism, with an eventual goal to convert Bharat to an Islamo-Christian state. Bharat is the only place in the world where the 4Ms are together! So, Hindus, wake up to this reality!

For a Hindu in his/her 20s or 30s, imagine your granddaughter having to wear a Burqa to walk on the road because it is not safe to be a Hindu in our own land. Imagine that she is given a choice to either convert, get killed or move out. What would she do? Where would she go?

For many, such a scenario is considered doomsday or paranoia. And voices that are fighting for the preservation of whatever is left of the Hindu civilization have more opposition from the same folks for whom this Dharmic war is being waged. So, what can the ordinary Hindu do about this?

At the least, there are some basic actions all of us can take:

Religious:

Problem:

It’s a fad to call ourselves ‘spiritual but not religious’. This is the starting point for civilizational destruction. A wise man once said that ‘religion without philosophy is fanaticism, and philosophy without religion is mere mental speculation’. By abandoning our religious practices, we have paved the way for conversion, the takeover of temples, erosion of our festivals, looting of deities, killing of cows, the takeover of our lands by Churches, loss of freedom to carry out our practices.

Solution:

Talk to elders in your family especially women, ask them about the religious practices of your family. If they don’t know, seek the counsel of friends or mentors whom you trust.

  • Start following basic practices like having a puja place, identify yourself with a personal deity, light a lamp, offer flowers, food, chant basic simple prayers every day with your family.
  • Go to your local temple regularly, even if it is for a few minutes per day. Offer any donations directly to the priest and not to the hundi (unless it is a privately owned temple).
  • Wear the family tilak daily. You won’t lose your job because of this.
  • If you know your family Guru, please reach out and seek a path for your spiritual development
Cultural:

Problem:

We have given up all our cultural aspects, leaving it to the Breaking India Forces to define who we are. They tell us what is wrong with our festivals, and we are happy to toe their line. No crackers during Diwali, no Ganapathi Visarjan, no Durga Puja, no Dahi Handi during Krishna Janmashtami, etc. Essentially, this is removing the sacred and the culture from our festivities, which is like reducing a house to just the pillars without the walls or a roof.

Solution:

  • Celebrate both the religious and cultural aspects of festivals, ideally in a group in your community or your local temple.
  • Don’t let yourself get bullied by the Breaking India forces on scaling down your celebrations on any front.
Economic:

Problem:

As Hindus, we don’t realize that we have the economic power to dictate terms on consumerism. Instead, we are happy to be blind to where our money goes. The strategy of the Breaking India forces is to take money from Hindus and use it to Break Hinduism.

Money spent on movies goes to fund anti-Hindu movies.

Money spent on online portals goes to fund anti-Hindu themed products.

Money spent on Christian convents and hospitals goes to fund conversions.

Money spent on government-owned temples goes to fund other religions.

Solution:

Be very careful about where your money goes. To begin with, that would mean an economic boycott of nearly 95% of the movies – almost all ‘woods’ are infested with Anti-Hindu strategy. Follow the trail of money to figure out where it eventually goes. Only contribute to Dharmic causes. Be very wary of NGOs who are just a front for Breaking India Forces. By controlling the flow of your hard-earned money, you can make a huge impact on arresting the growth of the Breaking India Forces.

Lessons of History

0

India gained independence in 1947. The nation was partitioned into two parts based on religion. While Pakistan had no hesitation in declaring itself an Islamic republic, India chose to be secular. The word secularism was not a part of the original constitution. This word was introduced when Indira Gandhi took away civil liberties and famously called emergency a festival of discipline.

Pakistan was clear from the day one that it was the land of Muslims and minorities had no place in it. The way it treated its minorities made it impossible for them to live a life of dignity in that nation. The exodus of minorities from Pakistan to India continues till date starting before 1947.

Muslims in India have prospered over the last seventy-two years. A new Muslim middle class has emerged. They enjoy equal rights and religious freedom in India. There has been much talk about Muslim backwardness in India but Muslims in India live a better life than tribals and Dalits despite reservations and special provisions for tribals and Dalits. Indian taxpayers pay for religion based central government-funded Universities where Muslims have fifty per cent reservations. Kashmiri Muslim students get scholarships to study all over India.

Manmohan Singh the silent, accidental prime minister was eloquent when he had famously said that the Muslims had the first right on the resources of India. A member of Parliament who is declared land mafia claims that Muslims are paying the price of partition. He claims that the Muslims had the choice to go to Pakistan but did not. He has in the past threatened to go to the UN to complain about the ill-treatment of Muslims in India.

Much has been written about the lynching of Muslims in India. It is claimed that certain right-wing organizations are encouraging it. News headlines scream a Muslim was beaten and forced to shout Hindu religious slogans. It has been found out in many cases that it was not true.

We know that in India lawlessness is not a new phenomenon. People fight over trivial matters. Many times road rage incidents happen. Those who have used public transport know how crowded buses and trains are in India. The heat, the overcrowding and general lawlessness contribute to civil and criminal strife. Minor incidents become major conflagrations because in many places criminals are not afraid of law enforcement agencies. There are competing claims of different religious and caste groups for limited resources. No wonder it finds expression in incidents of violence. These incidents of lynching, mob violence and targeting of groups is not a new phenomenon.

All of a sudden the liberal media is screaming democracy in India is under threat. Fascism is loosely used to describe isolated incidents of religious strife. We know such incidents happen all over the world.

Often during debates on national TV, Congress and non-BJP parties claim that RSS & Hindu Mahasabha played no role in the freedom struggle. These two groups were British stooges and collaborators. Such claims are not actively contested by the spokespersons of BJP. Their silence implies that they have no counter to this charge. The Congress, leftists and liberals smugly claim victory. The communists collaborated with the British is a known fact.

Let us for argument sake accept the charge that the right-wing collaborated with the British during the freedom struggle. RSS and Hindu Mahasabha were minor players in those days. Congress had giants like Gandhi, Nehru and Patel. The Indian masses followed them. Savarkar asserted that it took congress more than fifty years to reach national recognition. He optimistically predicted that it would take the right-wing the same time to reach acceptability amongst the masses.

The question that the nation should be asking who was responsible for welcoming the British to India before RSS and Mahasabha started helping the British? Did RSS invite the British? Did the Muslim League and the Muslim masses not wholeheartedly collaborate with the British?

My humble submission is almost all sections of Indian society collaborated with the British. They used different excuses but all shades of political opinion and classes of Indians helped the British stay in India. The lower ranks of the British Indian army, navy, and police were all manned by native Indians. The Indians took pride in serving the British. The Sikhs, the Marathas, the Gorkhas, the Mahars and the Muslims served the British faithfully and gratefully. The British were fair but hard taskmasters who paid the Indians their wages in time. Bhima Koregaon war where a Dalit regiment under British command defeated the high caste Hindu Peshawar forces is an illustration about how the Indians collaborated with the British against fellow Indians.

Syed Ahmed encouraged the Muslims to cooperate with the British. He claimed that the British followed a religion that was similar to Islam. He said it was the duty of all Muslims to serve the British Queen. Why do we celebrate Syed Ahmed? He is the man who claimed that Hindus and Muslims were two different cultures and civilizations.

We worship our national heroes. Do we have a right to question their acts and misjudgments that cost the nation dearly?

Did Gandhi ji at any time in his life collaborate with the British and give a call to Indian youth to join the British Indian army?

I quote Wolpert’s book on Jinnah where he asserts Gandhi sought and won British confidence by urging all Indians to enlist in the British army in 1917 and 1918. Gandhi on his support for war recruitment and his folly later wrote “As soon as I set about my task my eyes were opened. My optimism received a rude shock. We had meetings wherever we went. People did attend but hardly one or two of them would offer themselves as recruits. You are a votary of Ahimsa how can you ask us to take up arms? What good has the government done for India to deserve our cooperation?”

Numerous Congress leaders went to jail during the freedom struggle. The nation showed its gratitude after 1947 by worshipping them and putting them on a pedestal. The nation gave them pensions, medals and recognition. Congress enjoyed fruits of office for sixty plus years. The Congress party has benefited the most from ruling India for more than sixty years. Indian masses paid for the luxuries of office, the congressmen enjoyed. The taxpayers paid for their free bungalows, free cars, their servants, their salaries, their security, their red beacon cars, their medical treatment abroad and of course their corruption.

Coming back to collaboration did Jinnah or any big leader of Muslim League ever go to jail during the years of freedom struggle? To the best of my knowledge, Jinnah did not go to jail for a minute. If the Muslim League leaders did not go to jail what entitled them to demand a separate nation-state out of India and why did Gandhi ji keep wooing Jinnah when he did not go to jail? Why did Gandhi ji call Jinnah Quaid- E- Azam? Maulana Azad has an interesting anecdote in his autobiography about Jinnah and how Gandhi ji ended up calling him Quaid.

Savarkar went to Britain to study law like Gandhi, Nehru and Jinnah. However, unlike Jinnah, he participated in revolutionary writings and activities. Savarkar was arrested and sentenced to 50 years of jail time in Andaman. He allegedly supplied a pistol to a member of the Abhinav Bharat Society. This pistol was used to kill the collector of Nasik, Jackson, in 1909.

Savarkar served ten years of rigorous imprisonment in Andaman. He wrote several mercy petitions for his early release. Savarkar & his brother were shifted to a prison in Ratnagiri in 192. He was released in 1924. He was not allowed to move out of Ratnagiri district. He was barred from political activities. These restrictions were lifted only in 1937. These facts were ably pointed out by Kulkarni in an article written for the Wire.

Since these are historical facts there is no reason to dispute them. Let us accept these facts.

Savarkar suffered ten years of imprisonment including solitary confinement where he was declared a dangerous prisoner and not given the privileges accorded to a political prisoner. It is possible that the solitary confinement and the sufferings weakened his resolve to stay in prison for fifty years.

I would draw the attention of my readers to the antics of a recent revolutionary Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal used to call every politician in India corrupt. He talked about Purna Swaraj. The masses believed that they had found their messiah who would deliver them from these cesspools of corruption.

Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody by a metropolitan magistrate after he refused to furnish a bail bond in a defamation case filed by BJP’s Nitin Gadkari. Kejriwal had called Gadkari corrupt. He told the court that he would not furnish a bail bond in the case as it was a political case. He agreed to give the undertaking to appear before the court at every hearing. Afterwards, he moved the high court for his immediate release. He spent six days in Tihar jail and was subsequently released on furnishing personal bond as required by law. At that time our revolutionary Kejriwal was an ex-chief minister.

Three years later he apologized to former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia for calling him a drug lord. He apologized to Kapil Sibal’s son, Nitin Gadkari and several other people.

PS Jha writing for The Wire wrote: “After three years of relentless effort, India’s democracy has finally succeeded in breaking Arvind Kejriwal’s back”. Here is my poser to all Congressmen and other revolutionaries who call Savarkar a weak man, an apologist and collaborator of the British.

Kejriwal the revolutionary had access to the best lawyers of Delhi. He is the chief minister of Delhi. If six days of jail and some alleged harassment in the form of legal cases could break his back. If despite being in the exalted position of the chief minister of Delhi in the capital of Independent India he could not face some inconveniences what moral right does he or anyone have to call Savarkar a weak man for asking for pardon from the British after suffering many indignities in a British jail in Andaman for ten years?

This brings me to another equally instructive episode in the history of Congress party. Congress party was by and large a Hindu party because the Muslims from 1857 onwards refused to oppose the British. The Muslims leaders like Syed Ahmed exhorted the Muslims not to join Congress and asked them to cooperate with the British. Jinnah referred to Congress party as a Hindu party. He called Gandhi ji a leader of the Hindus.

This brings me to an interesting episode that Maulana Azad describes in his autobiography. Azad writing about the formation of Congress ministries in the provinces after the 1935 provincial autonomy act writes “Dr Syed Mahmud was the top leader of Congress in Bihar. He was a general secretary of the All India Congress Committee. When the Congress secured an absolute majority in Bihar it was expected that Dr Syed Mahmud would be elected the leader and become the first chief minister of Bihar under the provincial autonomy act. Sri Krishna Sinha was made the chief minister and Dr Mahmud was made a cabinet minister. Dr Rajendra Prasad prevented Dr Mahmud from becoming the chief minister. Azad blames Sardar Patel for a similar situation in Bombay where Nariman a Parsi was the most deserving candidate for the post of the chief minister. Azad wrote, “We all knew the truth had been sacrificed in order to satisfy Sardar Patel’s communal demand”.

In other words, due to communal actions of Sardar Patel and Dr Rajendra Prasad, Nariman a Parsi in Bombay and Syed Mahmud a Muslim in Bihar were prevented from becoming chief ministers of these states. Azad further claimed that Nariman complained to Gandhi and Nehru about this, but both of them did not do anything to correct the injustice. I am quoting Azad in this matter.

To give the subject a bit of context at that time based on the communal accord agreed upon by Congress and Muslim League only Muslim voters could vote for Muslim candidates in constituencies reserved for them in the provincial assemblies. Similarly, only Hindu voters could elect Hindu candidates from constituencies reserved for Hindus.

Dr Mahmud was a victim of communal machinations of Sardar Patel according to Azad. He deserved to be made chief minister but was deprived of this position. Sardar Patel and Dr Rajendra Prasad were communal leaders according to Azad.

Azad was imprisoned in Ahmadnagar jail with some other congressmen during 1942 quit India movement. He writes and I quote “Dinner was served to us soon after on iron platters. We did not like them and I told the jailer that we were accustomed to eating from china plates. The jailor apologized and said that he could not supply us with a dinner set then but it would be obtained the next day. A convict had been brought from Poona to serve as our cook. He could not prepare food according to our taste. He was soon changed and a better cook appointed”. Azad further writes that they were initially denied access to newspapers but subsequently they had daily access to newspapers. They were later on allowed to write letters to their families.

Pavan Kulkarni writing for the Wire in an article entitled How Did Savarkar, a Staunch Supporter of British Colonialism, Come to Be Known as ‘Veer’? gives us one of many examples of mercy petitions written by Savarkar. I quote “When I came here in 1911 June, I was along with the rest of the convicts of my party was taken to the office of the Chief Commissioner. There I was classed as “D” meaning dangerous prisoner; the rest of the convicts were not classed as “D”. Then I had to pass full 6 months in solitary confinement. The other convicts had not… Although my conduct during all the time was exceptionally good still at the end of these six months I was not sent out of the jail; though the other convicts who came with me were.

…For those who are term convicts the thing is different, but Sir, I have 50 years staring me in the face! How can I pull up moral energy enough to pass them in close confinement when even those concessions which the vilest of convicts can claim to smoothen their life are denied to me?”

Savarkar was demanding better living conditions as a political prisoner like Azad demanded China plates and a cook who could cook food as per his liking. Azad deserved to be treated better but not Savarkar?

Azad further writes about the imprisonment of the congressmen in Ahmadnagar jail. “Our life was disrupted by new development. Cheetah Khan said he had received orders for the release of Dr Syed Mahmud. We were all surprised for we could not understand why was he singled out for such treatment. When Dr Syed Ahmed reached Patna he was interviewed by the press. He hinted that it was not clear to him why he had been released. The Government released to the press the letter Dr Syed Mahmud had written to the Viceroy from Ahmadnagar jail. The Government said that it was on the basis of this letter he was released.

Azad writes “When we read the letter in the Ahmadnagar jail we felt angry and humiliated. In his letter, he had written that he did not take part in the meetings of the AICC when the quit India movement resolution was passed. Mahmud was under the impression that his letter to the Viceroy would remain unknown. When the Government released the letter Mahmud was very upset and went to meet Gandhi ji. In all such matters, Gandhi ji had a generous nature. Gandhi ji issued a statement that although it was not right for Mahmud to write such a letter to the Viceroy without informing his friends, the Indian people should take note of his repentance and not judge him too harshly.

Gandhi ji was obviously a saint who understood human weakness and forgave Syed Mahmud the congressman who begged Viceroy for mercy and who according to Azad deserved to be the chief minister of Bihar. This entire episode throws a few questions for all of us.

Are there many more such incidents of congressmen who begged for mercy but boasted otherwise? Since our history has been sanitized by the Nehru Left clique all such incidents must have been suppressed.

Why have the torch bearers of truth about Savarkar never told us about Syed Mahmud? We all know how a lie repeated multiple times becomes the truth. Mahmud who was a prisoner for a much shorter duration compared to Savarkar ate food served on China plates by a cook of his liking. Despite better facilities, he wrote a mercy petition and then lied about it.

Yet Savarkar’s mercy petitions despite ten years of imprisonment including solitary confinement and denial of political prisoner privileges are unforgivable? He does not deserve to be called Veer.

What would you call the actions of Syed Mahmud? Acts of bravery purified by going to Gandhi and invoking Koran and Allah? (this is what Azad wrote). What about the modern-day revolutionary Kejriwal? Gandhi ji could forgive Mahmud. Hence he deserved to become a minister.

Savarkar can not be forgiven despite suffering ten years of imprisonment? Only congressmen deserve to be called Veer and are worthy of our respect and veneration?

Since I am quoting Azad let me quote him some more. I will let the reader decide what to make of these statements.

Azad writes “Sardar Patel belonged to the inner circle of Gandhi ji and was very dear to him. In fact, Sardar Patel owed his entire political existence to Gandhi ji. Among the important leaders of Congress, many had a political life even before Gandhi ji appeared on the scene. There were however two – Sardar Patel and Rajendra Prasad who were entirely the creation of Gandhi ji.

I always thought that Sardar Patel and Rajendra Prasad were popular leaders. Azad thought otherwise. What do I know?

Are not most of the leaders of the Congress party creations of Nehru Gandhi parivar?

Is this an old Congress tradition to make non-entities big leaders?

Before I read Azad’s autobiography, I had a very different opinion of him. In my eyes, he was a tall man who was fiercely anti-partition and a true secular congressman. Little did I know that he too was just a politician with petty jealousies and grievances.

In one place he blames Patel for partition then regrets not supporting Patel for the presidentship of the Congress party in 1946. Azad calls not supporting Patel for Congress party presidentship in 1946 the biggest blunder of his life.

Azad is kind to Nehru but hints that Nehru messed up. Reading this book I came to the firm conclusion that the sanitized history that has been fed to us needs to be challenged and rewritten.

I conclude by quoting Gandhi’s response to a question posed to him by a reporter “when you agreed to meet Mr Jinnah did you meet him on the basis that he was the sole representative of the Muslims?

Gandhi replied ”I have never admitted that claim but I have said throughout that the Muslim League is by far the most representative Muslim organization. It would have been folly on my part not to recognize that but I am always aware that there is outside the League a large body of Muslims which does not see eye to eye with the League and which does not believe in two nations theory.

This body of Muslims outside the League was a small minority. Its opinion carried no weight with the Muslim masses. It was totally ineffective in countering the League. This group of Muslims stayed back in India of their own volition and were richly rewarded for their contribution after1947.

Muslims in Muslim minority states like UP vociferously demanded partition and stood with Jinnah. Most of them stayed back to protect their properties and avoid the turmoil of post-partition Pakistan. Some of them went to Pakistan and came running back to India after seeing the misery there. These Leaguers and their progeny have changed their tune but not their mentality.

I am reminded of Pakistan’s MQM leader Altaf Hussein’s famous quote ”partition was the biggest blunder in the history of mankind”.

It is true that India can be better than what it is today. We need to provide our masses with more amenities. They deserve better food, clean water, clean toilets, good jobs, and good education. They deserve the protection of their lives, livelihood and property. They need a nation that runs on rule of law.

However, we can not have a nation that mocks the sacrifices of its armed forces by saying that they get paid for their services. We can not have film performers justify their personal and professional visits to Pakistan while that nation covets Kashmir and sends terrorists to India.

How do you expect an army person to fulfil his duty on the border and during internal disturbances when some people think that his life is cheap while mere trolling on Twitter makes their blood boil?

You want the prime minister of India to drop everything because somebody threatens you or your family on Twitter. You very well know the first step is to register a police complaint and not flaunt your self entitled VIP biceps. The law takes its own course provided you believe in the law and are law-abiding. Flaunting your VIP connections or your fame shows you consider yourself above the law.

You want to eat beef while the slaughter of cow is illegal in many states and hurts the religious sentiments of your fellow citizens who happen to be a gentle and tolerant majority. You do not care about their sentiments? If you want your civil rights to be respected you have civic duties too. In 1947 the Hindu majority could have done to the Muslim minority in India what Pakistani Muslim majority did to its Hindu minority in Pakistan, but it did not.

You say your generations have lived in some part of India and so you are a part of this land called India. What right did your co-religionists have to uproot the Hindus and Sikhs from their lands of many generations? Did you ever shed a tear for the sufferings of Hindu and Sikh families due to partition? Your cousins and uncles and aunts went to Pakistan and occupied the lands of Hindus and Sikhs while you stayed in India and safeguarded their and your property. You had the privilege to visit Pakistan and your cousins had the privilege to visit India but no Hindu or Sikh who came from Pakistan had this privilege. Your heart bleeds for Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslims but it does not bleed for Kashmiri Pandits and Pakistani Hindus whose daughters are abducted and forcibly converted. Your blood boils about communal utterances of BJP & RSS but what the Azam Khans & Owaisis say is all good.

The law of Karma applies to everything. You are what you deserve and what you sow.

From Pulwama through Balakot to 370 and beyond – Understanding Modi’s approach

It was a few months to the 2019 general elections in India and the dastardly Pulwama attacks happened. A contingent of Indian army soldiers was blown in their convoy in the city of Pulwama, near Srinagar in J&K. The glee in the terror camps in J&K and their fund masters in Pak was unfathomable.

India’s PM Narendra Modi couldn’t have been left more seething OR faced a more challenging test to his trademark leadership, one known for quick and decisive actions. Would he succumb to the pressures of facing an election and thus keep quiet (after some perfunctory condemnations) OR would he respond in his signature fashion thereby risking his outcome in the elections?

It was a typical Vikram aur Betal situation. Immediate action would be risky while a delay (after a few months) was even more so! After all, the outcome of elections is always an unknown. What he went on to do and the way he responded makes an interesting read and makes you wonder what he has further in store!

Part-I – Balakot Strikes!

His immediate reaction was that of Balakot. The way in which he orchestrated the reply and manage the international attention very favourably is all out there to see and read.

Knocking off a Pak F-16 with his ageing jets, his armed forces carried out some of the most daring attacks and cross border surgical strikes without ever going overboard. Then he kept the pressure to make Pak Govt return India’s captured Pilot too. Pak PM Imran Khan may have gained some brownie points in the process from his cheering buddies in international and national press BUT all said and done it was game, set and match for India’s PM Modi. The message was clear – I won’t disappoint you in my response NOR will I be left seething helplessly before the elections – but – wait there is more coming! He went on to win the elections a few months thence and it was just the beginning!

Part-II – Hitting where it hurt

Balakot was just a start. He wanted to get back in a way that would leave the Pak equally seething without being able to budge an inch. His second response, much after a few months after his successful re-election. The answer was – Article 370!

After what must have been months of preparation, in one swift move, he rendered Article 370 of the Indian constitution useless using one of the clauses and caveats within the article itself. The article of the constitution which had become a bone of contention for decades between India and Pak, and festered into an inoperable wound, was handled swiftly and decisively in an instant. That Article 370 had, for decades, given Pak all the wedge and lever in holding India on its tenterhooks, while letting the two major ruling families in the state of J&K enjoy their lives in opulence amidst the hell they created for its residents. More importantly, It also made Kashmir a flashpoint in international relations, not only w.r.t. Pakistan but also with China, which for its own interests kept the burner on between Pakistan and India.

But how would he do it with US and rest of the world watching? He had to just wait, not for long though! Trump, in the meanwhile had started to precipitate his relations with China, in his inimitable fashion, into a serious trade war. International news was just occupied with that. Sanctions on Chinese goods by US, and in turn retaliation by China was the news of the day. Pakistan meanwhile continued its downward spiral in its economy with it currency in an eternal state of freefall.

The time was ripe to deliver the blow to Pakistan. When Pak PM Imran Khan made his overnight unannounced visit to USA for his next bowl of alms, the message to him was clear (from USA) – rein in your terror funding or else… . In an ignominious, yet, public admission, Pak PM Imran Khan admitted the presence of countless terror camps and possibly garnered more funds. While on the topic, talks of requesting to mediate must have certainly arisen resulting in Trump making his mediation remarks (something that India promptly denied).

The homework in the meanwhile was done and a motion was passed by the Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah to repeal the special status given to the state of J&K and make it a Union territory. In the same breath, the Ladakh part of the J&K state, which had been ignored for long, was given a separate status of a Union territory.

Seething Pak rushes for support in vain

Nothing could have left Pakistan more seething than having to witness this juncture. The situation was akin to the seething rage that India was left in after the Pulwama attacks. An issue that was dear to its existence since decades, and fueled by the ineptness of earlier Indian foreign policies, was made null and void without it being able to move a finger.

The only responses from International community was that of restraint and mutual dialog, something that India always wanted. US was (and is) too pre-occupied with its own issues, and so too was (and is) China. Though an ally, China has a bigger picture to look forward to. The so called Organization of Islamic CooperationOIC , Pakistan’s only hope in times like these, was not of much help either – Again, only mild statements asking restraint and mutual dialog.

Probably the most hard hitting one for Pakistan was from Saudi Arabia and other the nearby regions in Middle East from Gulf countries. Saudi, for its own reasons, decided to de-recognize the medical degrees of doctors from Pakistan, thus rendering all the Pak medicos in Saudi ready for deportation. The cut couldn’t have been deeper. So also were responses from the Middle East and even some prominent Muslim clerics like Imam Tawhidi. The hopes of ‘internationalizing’ the bilateral border issue was simply rendered useless.

Back home, the response to such an action by Modi was received with great adulation across the length and breadth of public view. Even parts of media staunchly opposed to the current administration and its ideologies could not help but admire the step taken. Even the Indian National Congress, arguably the most staunch and viscerally opposed party to the BJP, became deeply divided within its ranks. Major members of its party came out in support of the bill to repeal Article 370. The ruling family, in the party, couldn’t have been more embarrassed. In a surprising move, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Chief Minister of Delhi, another staunch opponent of the BJP’s politics and ideologies, also came out in support of the move.

Clearly Modi had done his homework well and painstakingly implemented it. Game Set and Match to Modi!

Moving forward …

Well… The game certainly ain’t over yet and lot of it is yet to come. The point is PM Modi gave it back in the same note, if not with a stronger effect. PM Imran Khan and his nation’s leadership cannot be in a more unenviable situation. The only response from his side has been removing bilateral relations, something that has no obvious purpose and probably even more deleterious to his nation’s interests.

Oddly, wars (direct or proxy) do not have any winners, only victims! For all the strident-bearing epithets that India’s PM Modi has been bestowed with, mostly by parts of media that do not (choose to) take him kindly, his approach has always been that of economic development without letting the guard down on national interests and security. To that extent he has admirably kept the balance well. Quoting the words of poet Robert Frost – and miles and miles to go before any sense of equilibrium is reached. The road to that is far from over and will be there time to come. While on its path, obstacles such as these only further add to problems. This is what had stalled India’s progress for decades. However, as had been the wont in the yesteryears of Indian foreign policy, Modi’s team has never shied from taking bold, decisive and proactive steps either when it came to handling the challenges posed in the process. One can only hope that his leadership goes on to make a more positive impact in the Indian as well as the global scene.

तीसरा ग्रुप है #Team_OfficialPakistan।

Congress party or a Compendium of sycophants?

0

The grand old Congress party is (as always), reluctant to weaning. To wean from first family is difficult for it. Being bereft of capable leaders, befuddled at the BJP’s surge ahead in politics, the party has chosen again from the Nehru-Gandhi family their president. Sonia Gandhi has become the interim president. That shows: no worthy takers from within the party, despite the unwillingness exhibited by the first family. How pathetic! What a disgrace! Is Congress party a compendium sycophants? Cringing before the Gandhis and begging for their leadership is a sign of disparaging behaviour for beholders.

Unsurprisingly, the liberal journalists in the country are also desperately seeking the Congress’ survival/revival for the upkeep of democracy! Is the democracy of our country so weak that it cannot get on without the Congress? Does a section of the Congress-supporting media, want this slavish kind of democracy? The servitude may be okay for the Congress leaders and cadres but not for people of India. That’s not democracy, it becomes a synonym for mockery/fakery.

The old Congress of Gandhi-Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose or Pattabhi Sitaramyya, has no connect whatsoever with this debased Congress. This Congress party is “Congress party ”only for name sake. No spirit of the old. The party got diluted and diluted. It has no connect now with large sections of people. The Congress in its UPA I & II times, led coalitions that ran the country with corruption, nepotism and favoritism etc. that people could never forget.

The Congress is, as always, a faction-ridden party. All factions want a head from the Nehru-Gandhi family as arbiter. They made appeal to all three family members. Finally, Sonia Gandhi who headed the party for nearly two decades has obliged to be the interim president. Luckily for her, in her earlier period, the presence of social media was miniscule. The party’s misdemeanors were not at public glare. Yet, the scams, tainted the party. Now the scenario has changed.

Parsing of Sonia Gandhi:- Sonia Gandhi is an enigmatic person. No one knows what she stands for! She, with her good old advisors of the Congress party, functioned in a cozy environment of her office in Delhi. Barring from some scripted speeches, her speeches of impromptu were very rare. She was never seen speaking in the parliament on crucial issues. Specially, after BJP led NDA came to power twice. Prior to that, in the UPA rule also, she was sparing in her words. One or two times that she spoke, hers was a reading from a piece of paper. Earlier, when she first entered into politics, politicians of the time used to make fun of her reading from the paper by saying – ‘we want leaders and not readers.’ She, now, is no different from the good old days she began her career in politics. Whether the Congress party sinks or sails, is left to time.

William Shakespeare’s famous quote goes this way: ‘Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them’. Sonia Gandhi’s greatness is of the third category. It’s her luck that favored her to marry into the powerful political family. She didn’t jump into politics soon after her husband’s assassination though there was a desperate call from among the Congress cadres. Her restraint (she knows the reasons why she restrained at that point of time and joined later and keen on becoming prime minister in a country of more than a billion Indian population) was seemingly approved by many as altruistic.

There are many sides ascribed to Sonia Gandhi. No one knows which side is true. Whatever be her original nature, she has, all along held the strings of power during ten year Manmohan Singh period. During the UPA- I & II rule, that was run proxy by her, rabid anti-Hindu leaders (and also journos of the ilk) emerged from her party. They still cling to her and to the party-Congress in the name of secularism and liberalism. Secular and liberal are not pejorative words per se. But they made them out to be. The free flow of funds to missionaries through waving restrictions on Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA) was also done during her period.

Sonia Gandhi chaired National Advisory Council (NAC) which was a bunch full of Communist left oriented liberal policy makers. They fed their views and resolutions to the Manmohan Singh Government at the Centre. Though not all their ideas were bad, their world view was heavily biased. For years together, the elite of the Congress has made a policy, to suppress the voices of the Hindus in the name of ‘hate speech’ and promoted their kind of secular voice to be the ‘free-speech’. Only after the advent of social media, there came a level playing field. The designs of the Congress came to light. It was all a strategy adopted by them. They call, even now, themselves Liberals after being dogmatic in suppressing the alternative views.

The hollowness of Gandhis :- It’s wondering to see Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi sitting silent when the whole exercise of Article-370 was going on in Lok Sabha. It’s clear that both of them, neither know the history of this great country nor know how to buttress their argument in support of the Article, if at all they wanted it to remain. Such people are the Congress heads! They have no understanding of the country or emotions of the people. In fact, Sonia Gandhi’s silence, is her virtue, as the saying goes: silence is gold, since she knows nothing worthy to mention. In the case of Rahul Gandhi, speech is not silver, not even copper or bronze, it damages his image, whatever left, with faux pas and goof-ups. The lacunae of the Congress lies here, as they lack oratory.

As a matter of fact, this country progressed well without a member from Gandhi family at the helm. Before liberalisation, only the elite sections of the society and the Congress leaders had telephones, cars, computers, internet facilities etc. With Liberalisation in PV Narasimha Rao regime, later reforms taken to a height by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government, all us are reaping the benefit and having these gadgets in our hands to have a first- hand knowledge of what’s what. So, it is in the wisdom of Indians, not to fall prey to the designs of the Congress. In any case, in this “peak Modi” era, all parties are looking pale and emaciated. Right now, in the Congress, key leadership traits are at an all time low. It’s an uphill task for them to transform public opinion to their favour.
