People of AP are ultimate losers in this battle of egos: What if next CM changes capital in 2024?

0

State of AP has suffered a lot since formation. Amarajeevi Shri PottiSree Ramulu fasted until death for a separation of Telugu speaking Andhra state from Madras Presidency. The ultimate sacrifice resulted in the formation of Andhra state with the condition of Andhra people giving up the claim on Chennai city. Andhra state was formed on 1 october 1953 with Kurnool as capital and high court in Guntur as per Sribhag pact. On 1 November 1956, as perthe States Reorganisation Act, Andhra Pradesh state was formed by merging Andhra State with the telugu speaking Telangana of the already existing Hyderabad State.

To safe guard interests of Telangana Hyderabad was made the capital of combined Andhra Pradesh and high court was also shifted to Hyderabad. After 58 years Telangana was again separated from Andhra Pradesh as per Andhra Pradesh reorganization act on February 2014. Hyderabad was to remain common capital till 10 years, after which Hyderabad shall remain capital of Telangana only.

On 4 September 2014, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu, declared in the Legislative Assembly that the new capital of Andhra Pradesh state would come up in and around in between Guntur and Vijayawada. The new capital for Andhra Pradesh Amaravati was developed. On January 20 2020 AP government, under leadership of Jagan, has passed a law proposing three capitals for AP and scrapping Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). The proposed capitals are executive capital in Vizag, Legislative capital in Amaravati and judicial capital in Kurnool. Andhra Pradesh has lost 4 capitals in 7 decades.

Congress government did a mistake by a hurried division of Andhra Pradsesh state for without determining capital. Later, Union home ministry formed Sri. ShivaRamaKrishnan Committee was formed to determine the place and the manner of capital construction in Andhra Pradesh. The committee submitted report on August 27 2014.

The committee suggestions are as below
• The building of Super City or Smart City is to be opposed. The functions and institutions to be distributed across different regions
• Assembly, secretariat, the chief minister’s office should be set up in the capital city
.Government offices and departments should be distributed.
• High Court can be set up at a different place from location of secretariat and assembly.

The committee recommended location of various capital functions and institutions in the backward Rayalaseema zone. It urged to do justice to Kurnool, as it was a capital in the past for the state of Andhra and Rayalaseema people feel losing capital to Hyderabad was a historical mistake Vizag zone to be set up as high-tech zone with various related offices of industry, manufacture, ports, shipping, petrochemical industry, fisheries, IT industry and employment for development of Uttara Andhra. Some other government functions in the Nadikudi-Kalahasti zone, which will emerge as important zone of development. Also proposed Musunuru, Mangalagiri, Macherla, Gollapally, Vinukonda, Marturu, Donakonda, Pulichintala as suitable regions for Capital regions or government offices.

Capital between Vijayawada-Guntur is incorrect due to economic and environmental problems. Committee mentioned to take consensus of people of all areas and decide taking some time as Hyderabad was common capital for 10 years.

The then CM Chandrababu Naidu appointed Narayana Comission. In 2014 September, he went ahead with capital shifting hurriedly to Vijayawada -Guntur area after “Vote for Note” case. He appointed Initially Nujivedu was suggested orally. On December 30 2014, AP Capital Regional Devolopment Authority (APCRDA) Act was passed and Capital Amaravathi announced in 25 villages of Thullur, Thadepalli & Mangalagiri. Later, amidst some protests, 33000 acres of land was acquired from nearly 28,000 farmers. Farmers signed agreements with APCRDA and were to get a part of developed lands and money of 30 to 50000 compensation per year per acre for 10 years. The local agricultural laborers were to get 2500 pension per month. Secretariat, assembly, high court & some government buildings were constructed. Some were supposed to be transit. The government failed to construct many permanent structures. In subsequent elections in May 2019 TDP had crushing defeat getting only 23 seats.

One person’s loss is other’s gain. Anger against TDP resulted in good victory of YSRCP winning 151 seats. After 7 months of coming to power CM Y. S. Jagan Reddy suddenly announced the concept of three capitals in December. On January 20 2019 AP assembly repealed CRDA act and passed a law to establish three capitals in AP -executive in Vizag, Legislative in Amaravathi and Judicial in Kurnool. In 2014 Y.S. Jagan agreed with Amaravathi being single capital for AP in assembly, did not suggest three capital model and did not support the protesting farmers then. He did not suggest three capital model or shifting of capital in election campaign or manifesto, which he says is holy book to him. Three committees were formed which gave report in similar manner. No one knew when BCG committee was formed, even court questioned the same. Protests, mainly from farmers, erupted in Amaravti region. High court slammed the government over the way protestors were illtreated by police and questioned government over putting murder cases on farmers. With these three capitals proposal pandora box is opened again raising so many questions.

Why Vizag as executive main capital?

Logic of shifting executive capital is for development of all areas. Why they are shifting to Vizag, already well developed largest most populous city of AP and 4th populous in South India. It is 9th largest contributor to overall GDP of India and 9th richest city in India. It has 2 ports several pharma, IT industries, fisheries, petro complex, steel industry, sports center. It is a major tourist destination with naval base. Vizag stood first with 73,592 crores GDP in 2017 -18 and also topped second in list of per capita GDP with 1,78,166.

Develop Vizag as high tech zone and financial city suggested by Shivaramakrishnan committee to generate more income and employment.Let already constructed secretariat and assembly be continued in Amarravati.

Why not other areas? If the only goal of shifting executive capital is development of all areas. Why not shift to other areas with lesser development like Kurnool/ Vijayanagaram/ Srikakulam/ Anantapur/ Donakonda? Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Kurnool are in the last three positions of per capita income. If distance is not a criteria, then why not Srikakulam or Vijayanagaram or Anantapur?

What is the role of Capital as per government? CM says Capital will boost development. If so, why not shift to under developed area? On other side CM said capital is needed by small proportion of people and we will take governance to door step of people, so further need of capital by people decreases. In that case why to even shift Capital?

Is Vizag not cyclone prone? One reason for shifting from Amaravati is it is flood prone zone. Vizag is cyclone affected area. No one can forget recent Hud Hud and Titli cyclones which caused lot of damage in Vizag. So,why shifting to a cyclone prone area?

Is there any other state where secretariat and assembly are divided totally? This separation increases logistic and economic burdens. No other state has secretariat and assembly in separate districts. Whether CM is developing Amaravati or not?

CM told that government would fulfill promises made to farmers in agreement of APCRDA. The compensation given to farmers is increased from 50000 to 55000 and duration increased from 10 to 15 years. The pension for agriculture laborers increased from 2500 to 5000. If there are no funds to spend on capital how will they do these things?

What about agreements done between farmers and APCRDA? Govt on other hand says there is no money to spend on capital construction and hence shifting capital. So, if farmers approach court for breach of contract and take legal action what is the stand of government? Why Mini secretariat for Pulivendula, CM’s own constituency? CM has alloted 1350 crores to Pulivendula and mini secretariat. So, is he dividing executive capital again a bit to Pulivendula? Why not other place? Did government follow the protocol for shifting high court? To shift high court the state government should take concurrence of Union law ministry and Supreme court. Supreme court should notify the change of High court.

Instead of removing pest, will one remove total crop?

The allegations of insider trading charges and TDP leaders purchasing lands around Amaravti by selective breach of secrecy of oath should be investigated. The corruption done in projects around capital should also be duly investigated. The persons involved should be subjected to trial based on evidences. Instead, shifting capital or hurting farmers is not solution. Can again insider trading be the reason for suddenly shifting capital to Vizag?

Is this shifting to settle political scores?

Chandrababu naidu has alegations of working for one area and one sector of people neglecting others. People rejected him and he lost elections very badly. Now, is Jagan trying to do vendetta politics?

Is this shifting to divert money to schemes?

In order to win elections Jagan has made extravagant freebies and schemes amounting to nearly 90,000 crores, apart from salries counting for around 40,000 crores. The financial position of state is fragile and in negative balance. The state loans and dues increased were estimated to be 3.04 lakh crores by the end of 2018-19 financial year ending and are estimated to increase to increase to 3.4 lakh crores by 2019-2020 financial year.AP has to pay 40000 crores for clearing loans and interest of loans every year. In such a condition, is Jagan trying to avoid spending money on Amaravati development and divert to schemes?

The first person responsible for present situation is Chandra Babu Naidu who did not actively involve in developing permanent structures with reasonable cost.He wasted time, resources and money on unnecessary consultations and superlative constructions and wanted a centralized development in one area for political & personal advantages. Jagan who succeded him is trying to settle political disputes and not even trying to look at the already established administration work going on in Amaravati and trying to shift capital fast to already developed Vizag. He is not even considering the options of all regions development by developing high tech financial zone in already developed Vizag, establishing some departments in some relevant districts, establishing high court in rayalaseema and continuing secretariat, assembly, CM office in Amaravati.

Tax payer’s money should be utilized properly. Both of them took decisions unilaterally without concurrence of people of all regions and wasting public money. Succeeding governments should take states forward, not just waste money and time with unnecessary political changes. People of AP are the ultimate losers in this feud of casteist, family, corrupt political blame game.

One last question, What if next CM in 2024 changes Capital from Vizag again?

Defeat ‘career protesters’ support Modi

0

The avatar secret of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna is well known to all of us. If we analyse the steps taken by them to destroy all those evil forces like Ravan, Kamsa etc., the time taken for all such fete were quite long. In fact Lord Ram and Lord Krishna were the incarnations of Lord Vishnu to destroy evil forces and protect truth and dharma but still they took time to destroy all those evil forces.

The reason being most of the evil forces too became powerful only due to the blessings of the God.

Look at the life of Hiranyakashipu or Kamsa or Ravan. All of them got the blessings that only Lord Vishnu born as an ordinary human being alone can kill Ravan whereas a creature neither full man nor full beast alone shall kill Hiranyakashipu. That were the boon both of them got from God due to their prolonged penance. On the contrary the death of Kamsa was possible only by the 8th child of Vasudeva and Devaki. It means Kamsa had that much time to live without fear of death.

Hindus must reflect the deep messages of our Hindu mythology and epic as well as the birth secrets of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna.

No one has any doubt or disbelief in accepting our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as a divine persona and embodiment of truth and purity. A leader dedicated his life and personal happiness for the development of the nation and sab ka vikas.

Modi came to power in 2014 with the grace of people of India and people of India showered even more grace upon Modi in 2019. The question often people ask is why haven’t all problems in India are fully solved when India is led by Modi.

People should not go pessimistic; instead they must re-pledge their trust and must extend their unconditional support to Modi like how people of India worship Lord Ram and Lord Krishna.

Like Hiranyakashipu, Ravan, Kamsa and most of the other evil forces had have their time and all of them unfortunately came into existence only due to some divine intervention, many evil forces in India too unfortunately enjoys the support of people of India. As a result all such tukde tukde gangs are either in power in some states or have their small chunk of vote base.

Like how Lord only has granted such special boon to Hiranyakashipu, Ravan and Kamsa, only the people of India have supported all those negative forces and hence are noisy and poisonous today. Entire India must support Modi and BJP and only then India can be saved.

If we correlate the above mythological facts with various happenings in India, the role of God is being played by people of India during election time by supporting certain tukde tukde gangs. Such support has resulted in them forming the government in certain states. Once they form the government, they have the mandate to ruin the state for 5 years and the central government cannot dismiss and impose president rule in such states.

Due to such boon, all those evil forces could have their way and similarly the mandate given by people of India to all those tukde tukde gangs and divisive forces, people have to wait patiently for some more time to decompose them from Indian politics through democratic process. We should make entire India electing BJP government and only one political ideology and value system should exist in India and that is BJP.

Even God too has to follow certain rules and decorum. Hinduism has never shown God as someone who does whatever and whenever he wishes to do something he does. Hindu Gods have always followed certain rules and dharma. That is why Hinduism is so sacred and universal.

During Mahabharat war, Lord Krishna first played the role of a messenger and peace maker and only after the peace mission had failed, war broke out and all those evil forces were eliminated by Pandavas under the blessings of Lord Krishna.

Modi follows the path of truth, believes in pardoning and not punishment and grant moksh not mrityu.

Modi believes in empowering people economically, educationally and politically and not in favour of giving freebies for political gain like congress which made a political stunt called NYAY for its prolonged ANYAY to India, since independence.

Modi is solving all problems from its origin/source and not at the symptom level. People of India must show patience and confidence that Modi will solve all problems. People of India must realize the bitter truth that the opposition parties are the real problem of India and only when all opposition parties are eliminated through democratic process, India can be saved.

We should make India the land of our great heritage, Hindu tradition and culture which practices and promote nothing but tolerance, diversity, unity and universal brotherhood.

Indian-ness we must promote and support and not the gene or DNA of Italy to rule our great land and ruin our cultural identity called Hinduism. A little more time is required for PM Modi to defeat all those negative forces and fear mongers, need of the hour is the support of people to Modi to save our mother land- India.

Impeachment motion against @realdonaldtrump is an exercise in futility

The Impeachment Motion against @realdonaldtrump, against him as @POTUS, now on, in the Senate of the US Congress, is a complete exercise in futility, as it appears to be headed in that direction and that direction alone. To those who have closely followed the ascension of Donald J Trump, as Republican Party candidate in 2016 US Presidential elections, this was coming, and coming for sure. Candidate Trump was a precursor to the chaotic Presidency, the world is now a witness to.

Trump was largely expected to be trumped by Hillary Clinton, who may have become the first woman to occupy the office, in over 240 years of US of A, in the oldest democracy. That was not to be, as Trump beat all odds and despite losing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton, by 3 million votes, assumed the mantle, thanks to the queer Electoral College doorway, in the US Constitution. Curiously, it has enabled only Republicans to trip the Democrats, as happened when George Bush cleared the hurdle over Al Gore in 2000, as well.

Pollsters got it all wrong. Academicians were horrified how they were all trumped. Media was exposed as having been completely out of sync with ground reality. Research is continuing even to this day, and may go beyond Trump’s Presidency as well. Tomes have been written as to how a candidate of Trump’s genre, even became the conservative a.k.a. Republican Party candidate. He was anathema to family values and his language was coarse, vulgar and anything but diplomatic, as the Hollywood tapes, audio and video, disclosed vividly, during the elections. The prurient language and display of Candidate Trump, had little or no impact on his base.

No matter what, Donald J Trump assumed office on Jan, 20, 2017 and thus began his disrupting influence, on the world at large. Only an old lady voter from Michigan got it right on how/why Trump became the President, against the run of play. “You have all got it wrong. While you took Trump literally and not seriously, we took him seriously, not literally”. She was absolutely spot on.  If Trump was taken on his words during the campaign, no one just no one would have taken him as a serious candidate. The expectation was that he was on campaign trail, knowing fully well, he was unlikely to win. And that his candidature and exposure would skyrocket the reality TV star of Apprentice fame, in his status as a real estate moghul, with business interests in India too.

And those that joined him in the administration, the more serious ones were appalled and left one by one. Some went to jail, as convicted, and several face indictment. It is a historic fact that so many so close to White House are on trial, for all their misconduct and misdemeanours, including those associated with his campaign.  Trump sought absolute loyalty from those around him and his administration, as if on cue on fealty. And when James Comey, FBI chief, could not offer The Higher Loyalty (James Comey’s recent book), he was fired by a Tweet and the FBI Chief learnt of his removal, on the idiot box. And those in responsible positions in the White House administration, were on a revolving door retinue, with Secretary of State, White House Counsel, Defence Secretary, the whole works, in change overs. The administration has not settled down despite three years into it.

The world was aghast that this was Trump’s promise in action, to Make America Great Again.

And when Robert Mueller, former FBI Chief was appointed to investigate the Trump campaign-Russian electoral connect, Trump dismissed it as a “Witch Hunt”. And the report despite delivering many a smoking gun, fell flat, as it did not gain any traction, or the kind the Democrts were dreaming of. Mueller Report became a damp squib despite the substantive proof on record of ‘collusion’ (yet not legally a conspiracy) and 10 recorded instances of obstructions of justice.  Trump’s handpicked crony in the Attorney General William Barr helped Trump blunt the Mueller findings, with his own personalised takes on the conclusions,  enabling @ POTUS to call it a ‘complete exoneration’, which it was not, to those who cared to read the over 400 pages dynamite.

Typical of his Presidency, a day after the testimony of Robert Mueller before Congress, Trump made the ‘perfect call’ to Ukraine President Mr. Zelensky to seek announcement of an investigation into the Bidens (Jo Biden- Democratic party’s primary candidate and his son Hunter Biden, who  became a member of an oil major Burisma  Board in Ukraine, during the Barack Obama Presidency and Jo Biden Vice Presidency).

The reluctant and hesitant Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was persuaded to launch the Impeachment Motion, and the House of Representatives have upheld the Impeachment Motion, of Donald John Trump, as POTUS, on two counts of ‘abuse of power’ and ‘obstruction of Congress’. Publicly, Trump and his minions admitted that there was a ‘disturbing call’, and withholding of financial aid of $390 million to Ukraine, seeking a quid pro quo of an announcement of investigation into Bidens. But, they did not care, for Trump was a ‘different kind of President’. And anyway, the foreign aid got delivered to Ukraine and no investigation also announced against the Bidens. So, what pray, was the crime, they responded in unison. ‘In Unison’, that is the criticality, that has come to the fore, helped Trump stand his ground amidst the upheavals all around him.

Trump’s Republican party is now a cult organisation. Not a political party, the pundits say. The lawmakers owe personal allegiance to the uncoronated King. They are all under fear of a tweetstorm and face the wrath and ire of Donald Trump, which can be unleashed on them, by his loyal Base. The Base, typified by the old lady voter form Michigan, alluded to above, has been unwavering in its support. The support base for Trump has remained immanent and unmoving from the day, he became the official Republican party candidate for Presidency.

The Base has not budged an inch. They have not cared for the crimes and misconduct alleged against their leader. They have stuck to him leech like and are not leaving him even come Nov, 2020 second term elections .In fact, the strong support from Trump’s base has energised him to assume and insist on absolute loyalty from the lawmakers in the House and more particularly from the Senate, where he has the majority of 53 votes. If anything, the Base’ support has solidified and concretised behind Trump, aided 24×7 by @FoxNews and #FoxAndFriends, which feeds into the Base, and  from it for Trump to reign and rule a cult hero.

The Democrats moved 11 amendments for introduction of further evidence in Senate Trial, and each one of them got nixed. The Republicans even taunted:  why the Democrats were moving them all, one by one, and wasting time, can’t they move them all and more, in one go, as rejecting them was the consistent Republican credo.  The Trump acolytes stand dumb in the Senate proceedings, having made up their mind already to bring the Impeachment proceedings to a quick close prior to the proposed annual State of the Union address by POTUS on 3rd Feb,2020.

Republicans have made it clear that they are not ready for any constitutional niceties or values, even if Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts was presiding, over the Senate proceedings. Their lawyers just kept taunting the House Managers as to why they could not wait for 2020 elections and seek fresh evidence now. Republicans’ and their protagonists have made it clear that it was for the Democrats to prove their charges and there will be no quarter or help from Whites House or from elsewhere. Oral/documentary evidence will not be produced and Executive Privilege of the President will be invoked, if need be, to thwart any subpoenas for it.

It is a no holds barred fight. But, the Democrats are going nowhere, even with their ‘cast iron case’. In a Democracy, ultimately it is Numbers that matter. Republicans have 53 votes in the Senate, out of 100. Not one vote is flinching or getting away. Numbers matter. It alone matters. Donald John Trump and his Base have ensured that the Republican lawmakers are on tight leash. Even a few recalcitrant so called No Trumpers are under siege. They are not going anywhere for now. Trump, though impeached by the House, is sure to be ‘acquitted’ by the Senate. He simply cannot be removed as the Democrats cannot muster 67 votes (2/3rd necessary) anyway.

Donald John Trump is here to stay. He has turned the Republican party in to his family fiefdom. He has sucked the brains out of the lawmakers and made them obliged to him hook, line and sinker. The democrats know not what to do, who to turn to, what to latch on to and how to move the needle to get him out of office, as impeached and removed or even in the hustings. The Democrats are in a bind. Then why this charade? They could well have avoided seeking to impeach him and fortifying his base further. It may be sad, but that is the reality.

Democrats have convinced themselves that it was a constitutional duty they cannot ignore. It has, however, enabled them to impeach him, more and more, in the Bar of public opinion, and the Impeachment Trial has become a campaign platform to convince the American voters (who any way are so indifferent that a 45% to 50% voting percentage is a record in the US of A) in the Nov,2020, for change as We The People.

Surendra Sai- The invincible Indian hero: Remembering him on his birth anniversary

0

Surendra Sai was born in Khinda, about forty kilometers from Sambalpur on the 23rd of January 1809. The king of Sambalpur Maharaja Sai had died issueless. His widow, Maharani Mohan Kumari succeeded him with the support of the British. The queen was a pawn of the British and her administration and policies, especially those dealing with land revenue and which in fact were in agreement with the British, were met with severe opposition from the Gondi and Binjhal people, who are natives of the region. They revolted against her. Taking advantage of the unrest and using the very controversial Doctrine of Lapse policy, the British cunningly dethroned the queen and appointed Narayan Singh, an ageing and unfit descendent of the Chauhan dynasty as the king of Sambalpur.

The Zamindars and the common folk wanted their leader, Surendra Sai to be their king. He was a direct descendent of Madhukar Sai, the Chauhan King of Sambalpur and an able leader. Sai’s rightful claim to the throne was bluntly refuted by the British government as Sai was an independent thinker who could not be taken for a ride.

A rebellion broke out and the gallant warriors of Sambalpur gave a tough fight to the British. They valiantly fought against the British soldiers in Deheripali, on the foothills of Budharaja. Sai was captured and along with his uncle Balaram Sai and brother Uddant Sai was sent to Sambalpur prison and from there to Hazaribag jail in 1940. He spent seventeen years in Hazaribag until the sepoys released Sai and his brother during the first war of independence in 1857. Balaram Sai had died in prison.

The king Narayan Singh had died in 1849, while Sai was still in prison. Since he had no children, the British had taken over the control of Sambalpur using Doctrine of Lapse. Sai was now invincible. He was supported by brave warriors like the Zamindar of Ghens Madho Singh, Hatte Singh, Airi Singh, Bairi Singh, Kunjal Singh, Salegram Bariha, Uddant Sai and many others. They fought fiercely and used tactics that weakened the very backbone of the British. They severed the communication links of the rest of India with Sambalpur, to isolate the British in Sambalpur. Madho Singh along with his sons guarded the Singoda ghat from where the British could enter Sambalpur.

The British used all means and even brought its most able officers like Major Forster and Captain Smith to suppress the rebellion. Sai and his supporters were but invincible. Sambalpur was perhaps the only patch of land in the entire country where the rebellion was still in full force. It continued until 1862, when Major Impey, another officer took over and decided to solve the matter peacefully. He made sure Sai’s confiscated property is returned and convinced him to stop the rebellion. Sai was disillusioned and agreed to Impey’s proposal but the rebellion never stopped. After Impey’s death the British arrested Sai and his associates. He was sent to Asirgarh jail where he spent the last twenty years of his life. He breathed his last on 23rd May 1884, far away from his motherland at the age of 75. Thus came an end to an immortal life that lived and died for the motherland. It is noteworthy that even after Sai’s arrest, the rebellion continued in Sambalpur until 1864.

Sai finds an important place in popular literature of the land. The medical and engineering colleges in Burla are named after him. The stadium in Sambalpur and the airport in Jharsuguda are also named after him. The  ‘Ulgulan’ memorial stands tall in the Budharaja hillock of Sambalpur commemorating the struggle of Surendra Sai and his associates. A proposal to erect the statue of Sai in the parliament complex has also been made. The people of Western Odisha hope to see that as a reality soon. In Sambalpur, the statue of Sai in Jail Chowk is an apt depiction of his valiance.

Surendra Sai started his struggle when he was about 18 years old and continued to fight till his last breath, for about 57 years. He fought to protect the rights of his people and the culture of the land. His patriotism and bravery is a source of inspiration for all.

The contribution of Sai and his associates in the freedom struggle is unmatched. But these brave sons of the soil are yet receive the recognition that they truly deserve. Their stories should find a way into our textbooks so that they inspire generations to come.

The Bose who Illuminated the Constitution of India

0

India celebrated the 70th Anniversary of Constitution Day on 26th November 2019. The journey of the Republic of India started much before that historic date of 15 August 1947. India had initiated its freedom from colonial rule from the sentiment of Swaraj which all the freedom fighters envisioned for decades.

Though India became a free nation on August 15, 1947, it enjoyed the true spirit of Independence on January 26, 1950, when the Constitution of India finally came into force. The Constitution gave the citizens of India the power to govern themselves by choosing their own government. But the interesting fact which remains mostly hidden and undermined is that who crafted the manuscript of the constitution. Well, this is a million-dollar question, to which very few people would know the answer of. Today we will take readers to the most beautiful aspect of our written constitution and that is “who crafted it and how it was crafted”.

Shri Nandalal Bose was a renowned painter who illustrated and illuminated various paintings in the Constitution of India. Nandalal Ji was born in Kharagpur, Munger, Bengal Presidency, British India on December 3, 1882. He was one of those painters who fought all odds to pursue his passion. Nandalal Ji was born into middle class Bengali family to Kshetramonidevi and Purnachandra Bose. His father worked as a manager under the Raja of Darbhanga, whereas his mother was a homemaker and was also an amateur craftswoman who made toys for her children. Nandalal Ji was since his childhood exposed to his mother’s craft skills and the works of other craftsmen like potters and idol makers around his locality. Because of this, he developed an interest in modeling images. It is said that during his school days, he would make sketches of Indian gods and goddesses on his books instead of taking down notes.

Nandalal Bose

Nandalal Ji was sent to Calcutta in the year 1898 to pursue his high school education at the Central Collegiate School. With a natural inclination towards art, Bose wanted to pursue it but was not allowed by his family. Quite naturally, he failed to clear his examinations at college and had to change colleges. He later attended Presidency College to study commerce, based on his father-in-law Prakash Chandra Pal’s advice where he secretly learned various painting forms like still life, model painting and sauce painting from Atul Mitra, his cousin. After repeated failures, however, he attended the Calcutta School of Art.

Nandalal Bose was deeply influenced by the paintings of Abanindranath Tagore, nephew of Rabindranath Tagore and wanted to learn nuances from him. When Nandalal hesitatingly approached Abanindranath, the latter was surprised to see such impressive paintings by an amateur. Some of the paintings by Abanindranath Tagore are shown below.

The first ever painting of Bharat Mata by Abanindranath Tagore
The birth of Lord Krishna

The murals of Ajanta Caves deeply influenced Bose when he was a young artist. Nandalal used these patterns of Ajanta to design the borders of our Constitution. During the Indian Independence Struggle, Bose, accompanied by other artists of the Bengal School (including his mentor Abanindranath Tagore) devoted his time in reviving the Indian style of art, moving away from European techniques that had become prevalent in art-schools at the time.

Indian Civilisation is much older than we think. It was a united country with vast diversity before the Britishers and Islamic invaders came here. So, the Constitution of India was made a historic way of not only recording that how should be our modern India but also what it was in the ancient past. And when the Indian Constitution was being drafted, the members of the Constituent Assembly thought that expressing our civilization through golden illustrations will be the best way.

Nandalal Bose and his team consisting of the artists of Shantiniketan entirely decorated and crafted the original document of the Constitution of India under his guidance. He selected a team of artists (which included Biswarup, Gouri, Jamuna, Perumal, Kripal Singh and other students of Kala Bhavana) who made 22 images for the manuscript of the Indian Constitution. These 22 paintings are on the top of the illustrated in various parts of the Constitution. Some of them are:

  • the Preamble, which was designed by Beohar Rammanohar Sinha;
  • the National Emblem, which was sketched by Nandalal’s student Dinanath Bhargava;
  • Directive Principles of State Policy, Fundamental Rights, etc.

Each part of the Constitution begins with a depiction of a phrase or scene from India’s national history. The artworks illustrate various periods in our national history, including the Vedic period, Mohenjodaro in the Indus Valley, the Gupta and Mauryan Empires and the Mughal era as well.

They crafted illustrations of ancient past showing the Zebu Bull, which was the popular seal mark of the Indus Valley, illustrated on the First Part of the Constitution i.e., the Union and its Territory. The Zebu Bull symbolizes the leader of the herd, whose strength and virility protects the herd and ensures the procreation of the species or it stands for a sacrificial animal.

The Zebu Bull from the Indus Valley Civilization

Part II of the Constitution, which deals with Citizenship, is illustrated as “Gurukul”. The part on citizenship is represented by India’s Vedic Age. This was a time when the worship of personified powers (Agni, Indra, Surya, etc.) was common practice and there was hardly any artistic rendition of these. Most sacred rituals and practices were only known to Brahmans and handed down orally to pupils. This shows the vision of craftsmen on what they wanted to express to the people to get associated with the basic principles which govern them and this Constitution in present is the document that keeps people associated with them.

Scene from Gurukul (Vedic Ashram)

The celebration of Dussehra marks the victory of dharma over adharma. We celebrate this day as Vijayadashmi as on this day, Lord Ram defeated Ravana and brought Maa Sita back from Ravana’s Lanka. This scene of bringing back Maa Sita by Lord Ram from Lanka has been crafted very artistically illustrated and placed in Part III of the Constitution i.e., Fundamental Rights. Nandalal very thoughtfully placed this pious illustration on fundamental rights to express the nature and purpose of Fundamental Rights, which is to “Eliminate social evils like casteism and corruption that impede the progress of the nation”. This illustration was also used in the landmark verdict of Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Dispute, in which Lord Rama was declared as a constitutional entity.

Lord Rama along with brother Lakshmana bringing back Maa Sita from Lanka

The scene of a conversation between Arjun and Lord Krishna on the Chariot before the battle of Mahabharata is illustrated at the beginning of Part IV, i.e., Directive Principles of State Policy. The Directive Principles of State Policy are based upon moral principles and considerations. They ensure social, economic and political justice and proper law and order for the people. DPSP are the guiding principles in the State’s policy-making to ensure that there is a well-adjusted monetary growth as well as holistic growth of the country as per the values enshrined in the Preamble.

Lord Krishna giving Gita upadesh to Arjuna

Lord Krishna in the third chapter of Bhagavad Gita tells that Arjuna must perform his own dharma, and not neglect it in the name of Dharma. Arjuna can neither protect dharma not keep himself on the spiritual platform if he abandons the duties born of his nature. In the fourth chapter Lord Krishna reveals that He appears in this world to protect the principles of dharma and curtail the destructive influence of adharma. Krishna Himself vows to re-establish dharma, upholding those who support dharma and vanquishing those who oppose it. So, to summarise this for present-day, an effective government must not only create laws but enforce them as well. In the same way, the Supreme Lord brings forth His law as dharma. When obedience to his law crumples and human beings propagate instead their own illicit “law”, the Lord descends to protect the good citizens of His Kingdom, vanquish the outlaws who practice adharma, and re-establish in human society the prestige and power of His will. This message of Lord Krishna to Arjuna about state policy, governance and law & order are clearly depicted in the Directive Principles of State Policy. Hence, Nandalal Bose chose to illustrate Lord Krishna giving Gita upadesh to Arjuna.

The enlightenment of Buddha and his disciples is portrayed on Part V of The Constitution i.e. The Union, which deals with the rules related to the President and the Vice President. Nandalal opted for this illustration on this part because this was a time where the term ‘enlightenment’ can also be understood as the awakening of the human race from innocence to consciousness and in addition to that, Buddhism also plays an important role in State Diplomacy.

Buddha giving sermon to his five disciples at Sarnath after attaining enlightenment

The illustration shown above shows Gautam Buddha giving sermon to his five companions at Sarnath. This was the first-ever sermon that Gautam Buddha gave after attaining enlightenment. Sarnath is an important place in our country because this was the place where our holy men lived. After Buddha, many elite monks live here.

Part XII of the Constitution, which deals with Finance, Property, Contracts and Suits has the illustration of Chola Bronze Nataraja. The significance of the Nataraja (Nataraj) sculpture is said to be that Shiva is shown as the source of all movement within the cosmos, represented by the arch of flames. The Chola Bronze Nataraja was created as per the instructions of the Shilp Shastras (Craft Manual). The Chola Bronze Nataraja was discovered in South India, which dates back to The Great Chola Empire, which was the Golden Age of Bharat. It was at the time of the Chola Empire that Bharat came to be known as Son-Chiriya. The Cholas Empire was one of the longest-ruling empires in the southern regions of India.

Part XVIII and XIX illustrate the revolutionary movement for freedom during the British Colonial Rule. Part XVIII, which deals with emergency provisions is illustrated by Gandhi, taking a tour in the riot-affected areas of Noakhali. The riots in Noakhali were sequel to the Direct Action Day, which happened on 16th August 1947 due to communal tensions between Muslims and Hindus. The day also marked the start of what is known as The Week of the Long Knives.

Similarly, Part XIX, which deals with Miscellaneous Provisions is illustrated by the glorifying image of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and other patriots fighting the war of freedom to liberate Mother India from the British & other foreign forces. The border of the illustration reads “Mahatama Ji – Father of our Nation! In this holy war for India’s liberation, we ask for your blessings. We must not forget that it was because of the efforts of Netaji and his Indian National Army that the British forces were made to leave India.

The finished manuscript was signed by 284 members of the Constituent Assembly. The Constitution, after making around 2000 amendments and various illustrations was finalized on the 26th of November, 1949. Many more illustrations are shown below:

Later on, the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru asked Nandalal to design the emblems of prestigious government awards, such as Bharat Ratna and Padma Shri.

Shri Nandalal Bose was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1954 for his impressive contribution in illustrating the Constitution of India and for designing the most prestigious government awards. In 1956, India’s National Academy of Art honored him by electing him as the Fellow of the Lalit Kala Akademi. He was only the second artist to be honored by the National Academy of Art, after Jamini Roy, who was the first one. He was conferred with the title ‘Deshikottama’ Vishvabharati University.

The University of Calcutta honored him with the honorary D. Litt for his contribution towards the field of art in the year 1957. He was also honored by the Silver Jubilee Medal by the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1965, the Asiatic Society of Bengal honored him with the prestigious The Tagore Birth Centenary Medal award. Unfortunately, Bose died on 16th April 1966 due to natural causes, but he left a legacy of his artistic work behind that many people follow even today in Santiniketan.

Let us bury Gandhi’s three-monkeys

0

In the study room at my childhood home was a statue of three-monkeys. This kind of statue was ubiquitous in India during seventies and eighties. This, of course was when socialism and secularism were surreptitiously inserted into Indian constitution during a declared emergency. The ruling Congress Party that usurped the credit for India’s independence; in alliance with the Communists sought to fashion the Indian society in the image of Soviet Union: a godless, classless, socialist utopia divorced from her own history and civilization. The statue of three-monkeys was a secular version of a virtuous deity.

At the time, it seemed to have had replaced the myriad other divine symbols of ancient Hindu deities with various attributes. It was popularly called Gandhi’s three-monkeys. I later came to know that it was a revered symbol in the Far East as well. It was an apt metaphor for a statist socialist government that negated India’s brutal colonization by Jihadi invaders, then by mercantilist missionaries over several centuries. The whitewashing of history textbooks to not offend ‘anyone’ was a matter of state policy ostensibly to maintain social harmony; however, intended to really appease belligerent jihadis and Marxists. So, what do these supposedly wise monkeys represented. One monkey had closed its eyes – see no evil. Second one had closed its ears – hear no evil. Third one had closed its mouth – speak no evil.

It is widely believed that the leaders who fought for Indian independence against British were idealists to the point of being naïve, punctilious to the extent of being harmful, pacifists to the point of being suicidal. All that changed drastically under the authoritarian and communist oriented government of the seventies when state control of economy was made pervasive and intrusive, various successful industries were ‘nationalized’ in what came to be called the License raj in contrast to the earlier British raj. The three-monkeys were a constant reminder to the citizens to speak no evil against authoritarianism and tyranny of the state, see no evil in the corruption of the bureaucracy and political elites in the country, and hear no evil about the brutality of leftist and jihadi terror that were raging in the vast parts of the world. Anyone not following the dictums of the three-monkeys were routinely attacked with the viciousness that all these jihadist and leftist establishments are known for.

Thankfully, times have changed and not in the least because of social media and the internet. The gatekeepers of morality, the nanny state bureaucracy and the complicit media, are screaming at the loss of their privilege. As more and more Indians get access to independent and authentic sources of information, the burka of negation that covered the brutal massacres, rapes and plunder of India by jihadis is being lifted. The regime and its enablers that imposed the ‘sharia’ and propagated falsehoods are now discredited and out of power. This is not to suggest that maintaining peace and harmony is not a worthwhile objective. But a house of cards built on falsehoods by singing kumbaya is unlikely to succeed in bringing either peace or harmony in the long term. It is preferable to build the edifice of harmony on the foundations of truth that would lead to long term reconciliation. Native Hindus were terrorized and brutalized but continued to fight the invaders over the centuries. It is not easy to erase the memory of their long-sustained struggle to reclaim their civilization and culture. However, over the course of these sustained campaigns of survival and defense, Hindus have become the caricatures three-monkeys represent.

We see no evil when the prophetic religions call us pagans or kafirs to be eliminated. We hear no evil when they call their God or Allah the only true divine worthy of worship and our murthis to be destroyed. We do not speak up when they call their book the only true book. These exclusivist and supremacist political ideologies were and are at the core of their hatred towards us and our millennia old quest for survival. There is a popular saying in Hindi, “Majboori ka naam Mahatma Gandhi” which roughly translates to mean that Gandhi’s nonviolence was the result of his compulsions.

When you are fighting the military might of a colonial superpower, violent means are unlikely to succeed hence the tactics of nonviolence. Alas, the imperative of alliances to fight the bigger enemy, that the British were, led Gandhi to paper over the aggressive and thuggish blackmail by Jihadis during the independence struggle. I am by no means justifying Gandhi’s appeasement of Jihadis, only providing a plausible explanation. I think the time has come for us to come out of the shell and discard this vestige of Gandhian dogma represented by three-monkeys. We should call a spade a spade. We should hear, see, and speak against evil at every opportunity we get.

Some apologetic Hindus, when attacked by ‘one true God’ polemicists, try to simplify our infinite forms of divinity by saying that we too have one God but myriad forms. When attacked by religionists, we point to the Vedas or Gita as the essence of all our scriptures to prove that we too have only one book. This reductionist approach diminishes our own rich pluralist and diverse cultural heritage. One of our greatest Hindu sage, Adi Shankara showed us how to engage with the world. He was not only one of the greatest exponents of our dharma who could defend our philosophy, but he was also a skilled debater who questioned the opponents in open discussions and defeated them.

In our tradition, we have the concept of Uttar Paksha and Purva Paksha. In the English language and Christian theology, it roughly translates to apologetics and polemics respectively. We have too many of us doing uttar paksha. Let us also do the purva paksha of these middle eastern theologies. Why is ‘one God’ superior to ‘infinite God’? Why is ‘one Book’ dogma better than vast knowledge contained in the countless books that have advanced the spiritual experience of humanity on this earth? Why is that a certain prophet or a son of God stopped coming to this world at certain point in history? Why does the God have chosen people if the humanity itself is His creation? Why does the transcendent God residing on seventh heaven better than the all-pervasive God that is present in all the creation?

It is good to have sound defense but it’s equally important to have intellectual offence to disarm the other. This caginess to question others and withdrawal from purva paksha is extremely harmful to us.  There is a distinct difference in our worldview and of others. Let us employ all the tools necessary. Questioning is not a one-way street. We’ll also learn from the defense of others. Our dharma values “Satyamev Jayate”, the insistence on truth with courage, not peace or submission.  While looking inwards is encouraged, confronting the evil outside (“Karmanye Vadhikaraste”) is as much a part of our dharma.

Some wise man once said, “A person with experience is never at a mercy of a person with an opinion.” Many of us now have first hand experience of the jihadi terror and proselytizer’s hatred against Hindus that no amount of media whitewashing or negationism of people ‘with an opinion’ sways us. Just as there are crackpots who continue to believe in flat earth or seventy-two virgins in heaven, our epic struggle to retain our culture, civilization, and its narrative despite seemingly insurmountable odds over a millennium is not at the mercy of deniers. Let us bury this imposed false god of three-monkeys and tell the world that we are not going to be monkeyed around anymore.

CAA and economic slowdown in India: A test for logical minds

0

There are two topics dominating writings these days in media, one on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the other on the economic slowdown in India. In the former, the CAA is said to be discriminatory without ever saying how it is so. In a recent article by Gurcharan Das in TOI (14/01/2020), such one-liner has been used and there is no effort taken to explain or justify the statement made.

On the other extreme is Nadella, the Microsoft Chief. He has said many things but net result is utmost ambiguity and it appears that he has not read the text of the amendment. However, the CAA is essentially very straightforward and easily understandable as may be seen from the following.

CAA seeks to grant citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan if they faced religious persecution there. In order to acquire citizenship in India, one needs to go through a naturalization process. One of the criteria of naturalization is that the concerned person has to live in India, or work in the Central Government for 11 years. What this amendment does is that it reduces this period to six years for Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan. But they still have to go through the process of naturalization.

The point to note is that these refugees were citizens of undivided India and they were forced to flee their own homes for saving their lives after being subjected to atrocities on the grounds of religion. They are different from the migrants who left Bangladesh/Pakistan/Afghanistan for economic reasons. Every logical mind should therefore welcome the grant of citizenship to all such people, taking into consideration historical reality and the humanitarian aspect.

It must at the same time be clearly understood that applications for citizenship in India by Muslims have been and will continue to be entertained under the citizenship act. In the last six years, as many as 2838 Pakistani refugees, 914 Afghan refugees and 172 Bangladeshi refugees including Muslims have been given Indian citizenship. Further, the argument that the CAA discriminates against Muslims and therefore ultra vires the constitution is not tenable. It instead positively discriminates in favour of other religions which is allowed by the constitution. This was similarly done in case of reservation for SC & ST. Moreover, CAA has nothing to do with the current citizens of India or the rights they are guaranteed under the Constitution. This is what the intellectuals and academics should put forward before the masses especially the Muslims who have been incited by this false propaganda that it is discriminatory against the Muslims in India.

This false propaganda has created unrest among the Muslims and instability in the country. This is very unfortunate in the context of prevailing slowdown in India, when the whole nation’s focus should be on how to revive the economy. It is, however, unlikely that national interests will override short time political gains in the calculations of our political parties.  Economic remedies have to be devised factoring in the continued troubles and pinpricks created by the opposition.

In the writings on economic slowdown in India, the various possible reasons for this are extensively enumerated without much specifying or suggesting the remedial measures that need to be taken except that the demand need to be boosted. How this demand boosting in the backdrop of the prevailing difficult fiscal situation is to be done is not indicated most of the times. These writings are not directed at finding solutions, but at shoring up the writers’ credentials with the like-minded.

But Shri Deepak Nayyar said it in Mint (10/10/2019): the government should use counter-cyclical, expansionary, macroeconomic policies to revive growth. Fiscal policy should provide a stimulus, preferably by stepping up public investment. Monetary policy should provide a stimulus to private investment by lowering interest rates. There is nothing in macroeconomics that stipulates an optimum level to which the fiscal deficit must be reduced as a proportion of GDP. Government borrowing is always sustainable if it is used to finance investment and if the rate of return on such investment is greater than the interest rate payable.

The solution, therefore, is to allow the fiscal deficit to rise some say by 0.5% of GDP, using that to finance public investment, and to drop interest rates in steps by at least 2 percentage points, which would also help the exchange rate depreciate. Together, these would stimulate investment and promote exports, to revive economic growth. This is likely, although, to lead to lower deposit interest rates impacting small savings.

It may revive the consumption by pumping more money into the hands of farmers and urban consumers, but also simultaneously reducing subsidies like fertiliser subsidy, which can be subsumed in another dollop of a PM Kisan Samman pay out of Rs 6,000 annually to each farmer.

To boost demand further, the disposable income of households must be increased. The govt. may mull over introducing a basic income scheme for the poorer section of the society. It can also consider increasing the minimum pension adequately for the retirees in the govt./public sector. It will put more money into the hands of these two sections of populace where marginal propensity to consume is high. The resource-transfer of ₹1.76 trillion from RBI has provided the government with a windfall bonanza, meant to finance the fiscal deficit, Further, If the RBI board agrees to interim dividend based on their six-month performance, it would provide some financial relief to the government, which all can be used partly for this purpose.

The writer is a long standing commentator on contemporary issues.

Annihilation of western democracies

0

India is proud to be a democracy, she sees herself as a nascent republic in the footsteps of parliamentary system of United Kingdom, liberty of France and separation of powers of United States. These lofty ideals are no doubt worthy but due to rigidity that has set up upon them, they have become as what is attributed to Abraham Lincoln, ‘The constitution is not a suicide pact’. Sclerotic liberalism and worshiping democracy as an equal to medieval Christian prayer has become the norm in Western Democracies. The West here are US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and most western European nations. The only nation that is still safe from the poisonous outcomes of unbridled liberalism is Japan. All Western Democracies are experiencing similar afflictions.

Islam and its followers are killing innocent men, women and children all over the West, yet the response of Western Democracies is to invite more illegal Muslim migrants. These mostly young Muslim men are coming on boats and not via legitimate or vetted routes. Read Douglas Murray’s bestseller, ‘The Strange Death of Europe – Immigration, Identity and Islam’ to discover the depth to which Western Democracies have descended just to accommodate supremacist Islam.

Western Democracies provide incentives to black women and white women of deprived classes to have children without a husband so that they can get houses for free (social housing). This has created a whole underclass of black men and poor white boys who have grown up to single mothers and are now part of drug dealing gangs that indulge in horrendous violence against innocent public. The institution of marriage and family has been destroyed by liberalism thrust upon by Western Democracies.

Judges in Western Democracies do not punish criminals, they blame their social background, which is caused mostly because of single parent children. Based on this they give them lenient sentences and most commit dozens of crimes and are repeatedly locked up for short time before they are out to commit more crimes.

Criminal justice system in Western Democracies works to protect criminals. Murderers, robbers are not caught and if they are, they are either not jailed or given short sentences. A 10-year sentence means that they are out in 5 years as day and night is counted as two days! Burglaries, street muggings, day light robberies are not even investigated.

Muslim immigration causes large families as they have more and more children, areas become Muslim dominated and then Muslims become councillors, local government representatives, members of parliament and so on. They then formulate policies that give more control to Muslims, build mosques, madrasas, forbid normal businesses and drive out local people. There were hardly a dozen mosques in Britain forty years back, now there are around 2000 mosques, 130 shariah courts and madrasas teaching hard line fanaticism to young children while separating boys from girls. Nine cities and towns in Britain have or have had Muslim mayors who have been known to divert funds to Islamist causes. Most UK schools now serve halal food to all students including non-Muslim children. There are around 3000 mosques in US.

Politics is being taken over by Muslims and people who hate the very nations they have come to; this is an irreversible process of Western Democracies nations becoming suicidal.

Muslims in UK constitute 5% of population but 35% of disabled children are born to these Muslims because they marry their cousins who they get from Pakistan, Bangladesh. The taxpayers pay for life long expensive care of these disabled children. This is a scandal that punishes innocent children of consanguineous marriages.

Open door immigration allows Muslims to become citizens of countries with weak borders and then come to UK, Netherlands, Spain, France, Germany, Canada and US. Violent Muslims, many members of gangs freely move around Europe and UK using free movement of people guaranteed under European Union rules.

People who come out as gay and say that they have AIDS are seen as beacons of strength, they are celebrated in media and the Western Democracies gives rights of gay marriage. Gay people have serious mental health issues and suicide rates, even this is celebrated that they should be supported. Supporting them is morally right, but if children and teenagers are warned of AIDS, mental problems and suicides that gay people face then they may make life choices more carefully. But instead all this is celebrated by Western Democracies, so young people are hoodwinked into believing that they are making healthy life choices. Children are taught transgender, gay and lesbian lifestyles which in itself is welcome but this is done as proselytization in all schools under government guidelines that confuses young children.

US companies are world beaters and are proof why capitalism thrives. US capitalism is based on the premise that poverty is eliminated only by capitalism. So far so good, but the fact is that US companies transfer jobs to lowest wages across the world, they are actually not US companies but abuse US trade and military might to get foothold everywhere, exploit cheap labour, make millions unemployed in US and pay senators and US presidents money to keep all this going. US capitalism and military industrial complex is a major Western Democracies failure that works against US citizens. In the same way, US companies tend to become monopolies or duopolies, they buy or destroy competition, in reality they use free market to destroy free market principles. In UK the same thing works but instead of companies, the benefactors are land owners and financiers not companies. Land owning class make money by exploiting people and making government follow green belts and other monopolistic laws.

Globalism is abused by corporates in Western Democracies to get cheap labour immigrants for non-transferable work and to transfer all other jobs to cheap labour countries. The end of nation states is a stated goal of globalists, EU and other free trade agreements are a pathway to this. But this hides the greed that the elite have behind this façade of lifting people out of extreme poverty when their actual goal is massive profits.

Women are pushed into workforce to feed cheap labour demand, but this destroys families, makes birth rates to levels that they can no longer be replacement levels of 2.3 per family, this creates a class of underemployed men who become useless, women use economic independence to break relationships causing immense harm to children who then go on to create criminal societies that are divided and deprived. Western Democracies actively promotes this vision. This in turn justifies Western Democracies’ open door immigration policies that invite radical Muslims to once peaceful nations.

To even think of creating awareness of any of the above means that any journalist or media person or politician will be debarred and stigmatised, so Western Democracies have become radical fundamentalists speeding up their own demise while being blind to creeping Islamic fundamentalism eating their own nations from the inside.

To give just one example from just one nation of one crore people (10 million), Sweden. In 2019 Sweden had 257 bombings, 8350 rapes, 2291 children robbed, 42 people shot dead, 40 000 women genitally mutilated, cars set on fire almost every night, around 60 problem areas and ‘no-go’ zones dominated by Muslims. Sweden had near zero crime just few years back, but by allowing Muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Morocco and middle east, it now has unbearable levels of crime.

India is not in good company as far as being democratic is concerned, India faces a choice to either become suicidal as a liberal democracy just like western democracies have become or to save its citizens from a very bleak future.

Mann Ki Baat, a powerful and unique communication tool

0

‘Mann Ki Baat’ is a communication platform created by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. It is unique in approach and the first of its kind, initiated by a political leader anywhere in the world, as a medium for direct communication with citizens. Prime Minister Modi announced the initiative in October 2014, soon after he inspired the entire nation with the eternal saying “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

The format of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is simple. The Prime Minister speaks on a range of topics to the citizens of the country through radio and television. One can access the broadcast on Doordarshan, All India Radio, and also various regional channels run under the national network. A free call-back service is available in case of citizens to miss the live podcast. A call has to be placed on the toll-free no. 1922 and citizens get a call-back to listen to the 30-minute show in the language of their choice for free. This is very handy for the Indian masses who have access to mobile but maybe not the internet. The show is also available online for those who have desktops and access to computers.

Sometimes, guest speakers are invited. They get to share their experiences on various topics and are able to ask the Prime Minister direct questions. The Prime Minister also invites suggestions from citizens for the topics to be covered and any questions that people may wish him to address. People from all walks of life, including students, homemakers, working women, farmers, people from the regular service class, business people, shop owners, and traders, get an opportunity to engage with ‘Mann Ki Baat.’ This direct connection of taking suggestions and questions and then addressing the nation on various issues is a unique approach developed by Prime Mister Modi, probably the first-ever time that a head of state has taken such an initiative to address the nation on such a scale. This initiative has led people all around the country to get a sense of involvement in the country’s development, as the honorable PM touches upon various aspects of life in his radio show aired every month.

The last episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ featured on 24th November and was a truly inspirational one, and one that sums up the real essence of India. The Prime Minister started by congratulating the National Cadet Corps (NCC) on the occasion of NCC Day. He then invited four young citizens to share their NCC experiences. The first one spoke about NCC’s participation in the ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ program. This program focuses on national integration, and the young citizen who spoke about NCC’s participation explained how some of them, based in Delhi, hosted cadets from northeast India at a camp. During the camp, they got to learn about each other’s culture, language, and food. They even showed the visitors around Delhi.

An early lesson in life like this promotes a deep sense of oneness amongst citizens of a country. Another young citizen from the northeast spoke about how her life had changed after joining the NCC. The cadets even asked the Prime Minister a direct question each. Providing a platform like this to young students, where they get to share their experiences with the entire country, speak to the Prime Minister and ask him questions, instills in them confidence, independence and a belief in themselves. This will help them and inspire other young minds to be innovative and enterprising. Hopefully, an entire generation will be motivated to take up entrepreneurship and create jobs and economic value for the country.

During the first fifteen addresses of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast, more than 61,000 ideas were received on the website, along with 1.43 lakh audio recordings by listeners. Each month, some selected calls become a part of the broadcast, which is then addressed or responded to by the PM personally. And, through this platform, the honorable PM has been able to encourage the masses to participate in all the welfare-oriented drives he has formulated and eventually implemented, for instance, the ‘Clean India Drive’ (Swachh Bharat), ‘Yoga Day’, propagation of the usage of ‘Khadi,’ ‘Digitization of India’ and the most essential and talked about agenda of ‘Demonetisation.’ The year 2014 was witness to a significant change in the primary health and sanitation facilities of the common people, especially those residing in the rural part of India. The Modi Government, courtesy of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ was able to reach out effectively to the remotest corners of our country.

The late Shri Arun Jaitley, former Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs has released a book entitled ‘Mann Ki Baat – A Social Revolution on Radio’. This is documented evidence of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ sessions Modiji has conducted from 2014 onwards.

Through ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ the Prime Minister has won the confidence of the people and instilled a feeling of pride for the nation amongst citizens. His constant support and words of encouragement during various episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ have motivated people to see the brighter side of things.

I hope that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ sessions will continue for the times to come and keep inspiring the citizens of India.

Ramachandra Guha and call of congress party, regional parties must defeat congress first

0

The congress party is totally clueless and is also equally confused over its stand on CAA. At one end, the Kapil Sibal of Congress party has said that the law enacted by parliament, no states in India can say would not implement or follow.

He puts a catch and caveat in his statement. He wants all political parties and state governments run by the opposition parties must unite under the congress and must form a big political movement to oppose CAA. Already the left liberals and many regional parties have lost their minority vote bank to the congress party. Only now the regional parties and tukde tukde gangs have understood/realized the danger of how the congress party is benefiting from their protest and toil of all those who protest against CAA and not the sponsor or the regional parties.

Therefore for the existence of the regional parties in Indian politic warrant them to isolate the congress and not BJP. BJP cannot be isolated because BJP is people’s party, the first and the best choice of India and PM Modi and Amit Shah are the only hope and aspirations of our country.

What obviously crosses-over and overlap between several regional parties and congress is the core minority vote bank that they have earned through years of minority appeasement.

It is the minority support which is the basement of congress party and several other regional parties.  When congress divides the minority vote bank, naturally it is going to hurt the regional parties and vice versa. Congress has the natural advantage to project itself as the only alternatives to BJP at national level and not the tukede tukede regional parties; the shift of minority vote towards the congress party during parliamentary election is more likely than towards the regional parties.

The above bitter truth is well known to DMK, SP, JDS, TMC etc. In Tamil Nadu, DMK cannot win election if the party does not have the support of congress party. Whereas for the congress, DMK is not needed because even with DMK it can’t increase its vote base although it may win a few seats. Therefore DMK has more reasons and necessity to keep the congress cool and in good humour than own cadre base. In West Bengal too, TMC is wary of congress taking away its Muslim votes.

The above danger it looks like, Ramachandra Guha, the left liberal has understood and that is why he made a clandestine call to all opposition parties not to support the 5th the generation dynast and the congress party. If all these regional parties go irrelevant and insignificant in central politics and if they lose their minority vote base to congress, naturally all such regional parties have lots to worry and fear.

The choice before all regional parties which oppose Modi for everything must realise that they must defeat the congress party and its dynast first to save own boat or remain foolish and ignorant and die at the hands of congress party and without knowing the consequences still support the same congress party.

Guha has sensed the danger in advance and that is why he has given such warning to people of India with the hope that the opposition parties also would realize the impending danger and would start to isolate and defeat the congress party permanently.

The real challenge of all regional parties is not BJP or Modi but resurging congress party. Congress is going to be their big danger and hence the regional parties must unite to fight against congress party and not against BJP or Modi.

The call of congress party to all regional parties to unite under congress to fight CAA is a very cleaver move. Congress party wants to benefit to the maximum from the protest of regional parties against CAA. At the end the regional parties would draw blank. Regional parties must internalize the advice of Guha and must fight and defeat the congress first. Save your sinking boat first then you can profess pseudo-secularism is the veiled message of Guha to the regional parties.
