BSNL was very much a profit making company in the beginning or till 2007 to be precise. What happened after 2007? What changed in the later part of the decade?
Amidst all the problems faced by the sector, as a much-needed initiative, the Union Cabinet headed by PM Modi has offered a Rs.42000/- crore relief to the debt-laden sector by giving a moratorium of two years to the telcos on spectrum payment dues.
Was congress responsible enough to address the issues of over staffing in BSNL, not been upgraded, filled with trade union worms destroying the performance, before opening the door to private sector?
