१७से २१ वर्ष के युवाओं के उत्साह, उमंग और शारीरिक व मानसिक मजबूती का उपयोग देश को सुरक्षित रखने में किया जा सकेगा। गरीब से गरीब तबके के युवा इस योजना के अंतर्गत अपने भविष्य को शसक्त और सुदृढ़ बना सकते हैं। देश कि सेना तकनिकी का विशेष उपयोग कर सकती है।

भारत सरकार की महत्वाकांक्षी योजना 'अग्निपथ योजना' के तहत केंद्र सरकार का प्लान है कि वह देश की सेनाओं में चार वर्ष के लिए युवाओं की भर्ती करके उनको अपने पैरों पर खड़ा करते हुए उनके जीवन को अनुशासित बनाएं।
