Student suicides : concern and solutions

0

As reported in FactChecker, and a reply in the Lok Sabha by HG Ahir, Minister of State for Home Affairs, on January 2, 2018, 9,474 students committed suicide in 2016 – or a student suicide occurred every 55 minutes. The same story reports that student suicides have increased 52% from a suicide every 84 minutes in 2007 to the current rate. The article will look at the concern, and the cure to counter the menace.

Students are assets of the country, and create the demographic dividend of the future. A skilled, technically sound, educated, aware, and awakened youth becomes the harbinger for the future prosperity of the nation. If a nation is to achieve the realm of success then it cannot afford to see them falling to suicidal tendencies. It, therefore, becomes imperative to see how this delinquent issue can be managed in the future.

To start with, talk of mental depression need no longer be a taboo. Rather, information can be disseminated by creating awareness among various stakeholders like parents, school students, etc through innovative mediums like nukkad naatak (street plays), drama, short films, advertisements on annual gathering in schools like Sports Meet, Annual Function, etc.

One can also include a topic in the school curriculum about increasing suicidal tendencies in students, how it is morally wrong, a cowardly step, and how talking and sharing problems with parents, teachers, and friends can help in coming out of depression. When students write a quotation in their notebooks they can be told to write meaningful sentences like the one by Matshona Dhliwayo which says, “The past is your teacher. The present is your opportunity. The future is your reward.

Also, at regular intervals, and especially when a student suicide takes place in school, schools can show 5-minute documentaries showcasing case studies of people who emerged successful after initially having suicidal thoughts. The list of such personalities is long, including Martin Luther King Jr. Further workshops and conferences can be organized especially in the aftermath of a tragedy. Such preventive methods will go a long way in solving this hazard.

Factchecker notes that failure in examinations led to 2,413 suicides by students in 2016 – or seven every day –accounting for 25% of student suicides. Suicide due to examination failure needs concerted efforts from not merely the students but also the teachers and parents. Students need to be taught that the first step to solve a problem is knowing that there exists one, and the examination system is a firm reminder that there exists a problem which is solvable. Bernard Branson said that “Rejection is an opportunity for your selection” and after a student fails, a counselling session can be arranged by the school for students, which needs to be mandatorily attended by parents and teachers – in the aftermath of which a re-examination provision could be adopted.

Teachers also need to play their part and their motive should transform from merely imparting knowledge to rekindling the flame within every student. Once a student starts liking learning, he is destined to succeed.

Parents also need to play their part by analysing, closely, the behaviour of their child and their likes, dislikes, opinions etc that they form over the years. Gandhiji said, “Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.” All these parameters are closely linked to the upbringing of the child, where parents play a pivotal part. A deeper interaction between children and parents is the need of the hour.

India also needs some institutional changes. A report in The Indian Express stated that India has only 0.3 psychiatrists compared to China’s 1.7, 0.17 nurses, and 0.05 psychologists for every 100,000 people (World Health Organization’s Mental Health Atlas 2011). Psychiatry is taught in fewer than 300 medical colleges at the undergraduate level and in 184 at the postgraduate level. There are only 502 seats in MD Psychiatry. There are no PhD courses in psychiatry and a little over 100 seats in diploma courses.

Hence, effective and affordable counselling centres should be opened up across the country, especially in states with high prevalence of student suicides. For example, Maharashtra reported the most student suicides (1350) in 2016, followed by West Bengal (1,147) and Tamil Nadu (981). Priority thereby needs to be established in the same order.

And not just student suicides – in holistic terms India is amongst the nations with the highest number of suicides, as 1,31,666 Indians committed suicide in 2014 which grew to 1,33,623 suicides in 2015. Several reports indicate that between 2% and 5% of Indians are said to be suffering from mental illnesses — in a country of 125 crores, that would be between 2.5 crore and 6.25 crore people, and this is a large number to which we need to draw attention.

What is the chance of BJP winning elections in Karnataka in 2018?

0

The state has produced 8 Lingayat CMs, 7 Vokkaliga, CMs, 4 backward class, CMs, two Brahmins CMs. All the three major parties Congress, BjP, and JDS have shared power in Karnataka. At present the fog will be between the three parties only, bothers playing either fringe politics or supportive politics to the major ones.

Poll Surveys.

  1. A Market Research Survey conducted by C-Fore has given Congress an absolute majority of 120 – 130 seats for Congress, 60 – 72 seats for BJP, and 24 – 30 seats to JDS.
  2. Creative Center for Political and Social Studies have in their survey state BJP will get 113 seats which they voted in 2013. They have given 86 seats to Congress and 25 seats.

I will assess region wise. The Karnataka has four distinct regions of Coastal Karnataka, Old Mysore, Hyderabad Karnataka, and Bombay Karnataka. For political purpose I add Bangalore City, because Bangalore city votes differently from other regions.

Coastal Karnataka.

  1. Coastal Karnataka has three districts of Dakshina Kannada (8), Uttara Kannada (6) and Udupi (5). Together they have 19 seats.
  2. Coastal Karnataka is the stronghold of BJP. All the three MP seats are being held by BJP.
  3. However in 2013 Congress did extremely well in this region winning most of the seats, because BJP got divided into three parties, who stood separately.
  4. Since all the three factions got united now, the party is expected to do well here.
  5. BJP, may get any where between 16 seats in this region. Congress 2 seats.

Bombay Karnataka

  1. This region is once again the stronghold of BJP, because of the factor of Lingayats, who are the backbone of the party.
  2. But this time an agitation is going on for Lingayats to be given a separate religious status. This is being encouraged by Siddaramiah, only to gain their votes. Hitherto they were supporting BJP, enblock. This time it will get divided between Congress and BJP.
  3. There are 56 seats in this region. It may be divided in the proportion of 30 to BJP and 25 to Congress.

Hyderabad Karnataka

  1. Hyderabad Karnataka too is the stronghold of BJP, because of Reddy brothers and Yeddiyurappa. Lingayats are the dominant caste in this region.
  2. There are 40 seats in this region. Both BJP and Congress may share the seats with slight advantage to BJP. This area is home to Mallikarjun Kharge, of Congress. Since backward class too, form substantial part of the electorate, their decision is decisive.
  3. Congress may take 16 seats and BJP 23 seats. The rest may go the way of others and independents.

Old Mysore area

  1. This region excluding Bangalore city, has 81 seats. In this region all the three major parties have influence.
  2. BJP is strong in Chikkamagalore (5), Shimoga (7), Kodagu (2), Davanagere (8), Tumkur (10) Bangalore Rural District (4)
  3. Congress is uniformly strong in the entire region.
  4. JDS is strong in Mandya (7) Hassan (7), Ramanagara (4).
  5. This region is Vokkaliga dominated. JDS is strong among Vokkaligas. Congress too is equally strong. With the induction of SM Krishna a vokkaliga into BJP, the party has become strong among this section of the society.
  6. Congress is strong in this region. They may get 42 seats, JDS, 18 seats, and BJP may get 18 seats. The rest may go to independents and others.

Bangalore City

  1. Bangalore is always the stronghold of BJP. The major community Brahmins in the city normally favor, BJP. However Congress gives a run for its money. JDS is very weak here except in couple of seats.
  2. Also Bangalore is home to outsiders who constitute majority.
  3. Bangalore is a cosmopolitan city, with highest concentration of educated and middle class in the state.
  4. BJP may expect 14 seats, Congress 12 seats, and 2 seats to JDS.

When we add up

BJP may get 101 seats. Congress may get 97 seats. JDS may get around 22 seats. Four seats may go to independent and others. Without JDS, government formation is not possible. Also neither Congress or BJP can form the government on their own with the help of independents. No party will get majority. Both Congress and BJP are equally poised in the state.

Caste faultlines: The battle is lost but the war is far from over

0

Two forces were up against each other, trying to crush and dismantle the other on the battleground of Bhima-koregaon under the influence of external powers. No, I am not talking about the battle of 1818 but about that which happened just a few days ago. I have seen many puff pieces of editorials which were praising the valour of Dalits and some which were related to the historical correctness of the battle. Some mentioned it was the Dalits who won, some considered British as the real victors and some even mentioned that it was India who lost to the “divide and rule policy” of the British. But all of them were missing an important point – “Why now”? From many year the first of January is being celebrated in Bhima-Koregaon but what was different now? The answer to this question is manifold.

First and simple most reason is that the opposition seems to found an “elixir” to all its problems and which is the best proven method to get into the power. This new found “Eureka” moment came during the Gujrat elections. History is rife with many such example where this elixir had been used. The users were Muslim invaders and the British. The panacea is known to us as “divide and rule”.

Divide the regime on the basis of caste faultlines, divide on the basis of religion, divide on the basis of the Aryan migration theory, and destroy the system from within. There is a famous movie quote which seems to apt in case of Indian Scenario “An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again, but one which crumbles from within, is dead forever”. This is why Indian history is full of Jaichands and Mir Jafars. Now that India is on the rise and the Jaichands want to gain power they will use the same “divide and rule” to snatch the throne.

Now according to the AK Anthony panel’s report it was the discontent of Hindus towards congress that cost it in elections of 2014 and UP results once again proved that the community has distanced itself from the congress. Congress knew that it was hard for it to woo the Hindu vote back but it tried it anyway. The temple run by Mr Rahul Gandhi was not as much fruitful for the congress as one would have hoped. But one thing that stood out for the congress was the castle faultline strategy.

Congress kept its Muslim vote bank intact and found a new method to divide the Hindu votes. Hence this “Dalit vs Brahman” war was orchestrated. The “Lal Salam” gang and its poster boy Jignesh Mevani along with his comrade Umar Khalid, who allegedly raised Anti-India slogans in JNU campus in January 2016 were there on the stage at Bhima-Korgaon with the mother of Rohith Vemulla. There Jignesh Mevani under the disguise of Dalit identity propagated the “divide India” propaganda via his hate speech and then soon enough the situation was out of control.

Here is his hate speech:

The Congress and the communist were waiting for this to happen and cash the “opportunity”. Mr Gandhi who is vacationing in Goa tweeted about the incident and blamed BJP/RSS for oppressing the voice of Dalits.

Comrade Sitaram Yechury also expressed his “concern” over the matter and blamed it on the BJP. Unfortunately Mr Sitaram Yechury is yet to make a statement on the murder of a Dalit BJP worker Amulya Malakar who was hacked to death by communist goons.

Not just Congress and the communists but all other political parties used this golden “opportunity” and made this a Brahman vs Dalit incidence. Some even blamed RSS for it.

And to give it a final touch, the lutyens media lead the narrative.

The biggest  loser was the BJP’s state government lead by Mr Devender Fadnavis. It acted like a dumb spectator and took actions when it was too late. Many vehicles including government buses were set on fire and the incendiaries are still not behind the bars. A guy lost his life just because he was wearing a T-shirt with Shivaji’s picture on it. His soul still awaits justice.

The state government knew that Jignesh Mevani and Umar Khalid were coming to the event and that there was a high probability of polarizing the event via hate speech but it did next to nothing and let the State be burned and captured by the goons. Mr Fadnavis and BJP should have learned a lesson from the incidences of Gujarat and Haryana. This complete law and order failure is solely due to the apathy of State government.

Now, the opposition has won the battle of “Dalit vs Brahman” narrative but this war is far from over till 2019. It is high time BJP understood its mistakes and failure. Because the war with the “Azadi” gang has just started.

An open letter to Dr. Percy Fernandez and Ms. Elsa Ashish

‘Rang hara Hari Singh Nalve se,
Rang laal hai Lal Bahadur se,
Rang bana basanti Bhagat Singh,
Rang aman ka veer Jawahar se.
Mere Desh ki Dharti sona ugle
Ugle here moti mere desh ki dharti’

This patriotic song from ‘Upkaar’ by Lyricist Indeevar symbolizes individual characteristics representing different colours and love for the motherland.

The fall season is a time when the duration of daylight becomes noticeably shorter and the temperature cools down considerably. But this fall season, why the light of nationalism is eluding the prestigious Manipal University situated in Dubai, UAE needs to be answered about the conference research paper by Dr. Percy and Ms. Elsa Ashish on Anti-national and anti-India govt and those managing the research department of this international university including the dean of the university.

Let me introduce myself, I am a Manipal alumnus. I spent three years doing my B.A. Media & Communication at Manipal University, Dubai under my proud professors Dr. Firoz, Mr. Rn Shukul, Mr. Joseph John, Mr. Sabir Haque, Ms. Shubha, Ms. Radhika, Ms. Fokiya, Mr. S Manikandan and Mr. Sanjay Nair. Now I am an affluent freelancer for graphics and animation.

The educational university stands for education, knowledge and research, where no one is marginalized and all are treated equally in spite of financial, social and cultural differences. But I am feeling blue for the academicians here, I could not imagine that two of our intelligent professors from our university will bring down the image of the country where they are born and I am also born. When I was totally focusing on this year’s live streaming of convocation, the CEO says Create, Communicate and Collaborate. I feel proud as an alumnus when our chairman says ‘May you always live the dream that you dreamt’.

But you both brought our country’s image several notches down in a foreign land by presenting the paper on ‘Culture, Gastronomy and the Politics of Beef in Digital India’ at The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre, Manila, Philippines, and another paper on ‘His Master’s Voice: Cultural appropriation and ‘MODI-fication of Indian Media’ presented at The University of British Columbia, Canada. Not only these research papers Dr. Percy, you wrote to a Manipal alumni, working with a local newspaper, to publish your story: (1) Death of a Journalist And BJP’s Murderous Politics: (2) India’s dying children. All Indian citizens in UAE especially academicians should avoid such inessential attitude that shows India let down.

Highlights of both the research papers:

  • RSS is a group likened to ISIS
  • Holy cow is a myth for Hindus
  • Beef is used as a tool in the hands of BJP to divide and polarize on religious lines
  • Bajrang Dal activists brutally assaulting cow murderer
  • Anti-slaughter laws were in limbo for about two decades and was resuscitated
  • Communal tension in various parts of Uttar Pradesh.
  • The Indian media ritualistically covered the rise of Hindutva politics and culinary tyranny
  • The beef ban soon became a predominant national discourse in India
  • Hate speech and campaigns by Modi consigliere during election
  • BJP destroyed media ethics and values

Highlights of two of your write-ups for a local newspaper:

  • Gauri was gunned down because she spoke against the communal and fascist politics of the BJP.
  • Eerily, Gauri knew she was on the hit list of thugs, widely believed to have links with RSS and other Hindu terror outfits who were accused of murdering Professor MM Kalburgi.
  • Historian and author, Ramachandra Guha said it was very likely that the murderers came from the Sangh Parivar.
  • Televisions channels like Zee, Times Now and Republic are responsible for creating a climate of hate, discord, and intolerance.
  • Amit Malviya threatened every journalist in the country to ‘take note’, a euphemism for beware, hailing a court conviction for Gauri Lankesh in a defamation case in 2016
  • Nikhil Dadhich, whose handle is followed by Narendra Modi, tweeted saying “the bitch died a dog’s death” in Hindi,
Modi’s silence on the death of Gauri and other journalists in India only betrays his indignation towards the press.
  • Amit Shah and Modi making a mockery of the deaths and vouching safe for the man who he chose as chief minister.
  • Gorakhpur has a notorious and criminal healthcare history
  • Adityanath has vowed to punish the guilty after absolving himself for the contamination and filth he has nurtured in his constituency for twenty years.

Fellas, today you proved that all JNU alumnus are anti-national like Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya there are very few who made our country proud is Nirmala Sitharam, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Arvind Gupta.

You have mentioned about most lynching taken place under BJP Govt. Please speak the truth. Hope you are aware of

  1. 1947, Millions of Hindus were massacred in Pakistan. This is not lynching
  2. In 1984, homes were burnt & more than 3000 Sikhs were lynched by congress goons. It was the biggest lynching in Indian history.
  3. In 2002, 59 Hindus were burned alive in train at Godhra. This is not lynching.

You have mentioned:
RSS is a group likened to ISIS; Let me educate you professors:
RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) was established in 1925. Today Sangh conducts its social work across all Indian states. Sangh’s Swyamsevaks carry out over 150,000 social service projects across the country today. Flood Relief distribution in your states Keral and Tamilnadu is a living example. RSS never killed anyone, but they got killed in your state Kerla.

Stop doing your research on ISIS, Beef Ban, Lynching and Modi start teaching your students honestly.

Professors, it is a remark of disgrace and dishonor for our country where we are born, who gave us identity and every deed of it made us proud. Being a holder of Indian Passport and completed education in India with the citizen’s money. I am shocked, Is Manipal University using its 2 professors to blame India in a peaceful foreign land like Dubai or these professors are using Manipal University as a Platform to blame India? Does Manipal aware of it that how these professors are harming the university? How is Manipal University funding for such academic research work?
Management of Manipal University must play its role in guiding them to the right path so that they can contribute to the growth of the nation and to achieve the object and vision for which Manipal University was established in the first place.

It is a clear case of raising anti-national bogies and hurting sentiments of Hinduism religion, which have the effect of threatening national integrity.

Section 124-A of Indian Penal Code reads as under:
Whoever, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representation, or otherwise, brings or attempts to bring into hatred or contempt, or excites or attempts to excite disaffection towards, the Government established by law in India shall be punished with imprisonment for life, to which fine may be added, or with imprisonment which may extend to three years, to which fine may be added, or with fine.”

Going by this definition, you are certainly guilty of sedition.

You have mentioned in your research paper: The India media ritualistically covered the rise of Hindutva politics and culinary tyranny:

I pray you not to do religious politics in this prestigious university in a peaceful country like UAE, that to in media & communications department. The constitution of UAE stipulates that all persons are equal before the law, without discrimination between citizens on grounds of religious belief. The most obvious example of religious tolerance in the UAE is the fact that it is home to over 200 nationalities and 40 churches, a Sikh temple, and two Hindu temples — substantially more centers of worship of other faiths than all other GCC countries combined.

I have read both of your full papers which are damn-shit, are they for a publicity stunt or to get noticed by the anti-nationalists? You compromised with the integrity of the country and choose applause in the foreign countries by presenting such papers. It is an act of traitors.

You both are teachers and one should know the roles and duties of a teacher.
A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill the love of learning.
Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.
Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. But, what have you done with the moral values and expectation of the students and parents who trust you? May God bless and save the current batch students. I feel sorry for them. I guess you thought you are merely stating an intellectual and philosophical/political position.

I guess you didn’t realize your papers, articles, and comments would be read with sensationalist headlines asking ‘the nation’ to decide what your fate should be. And I guess you didn’t anticipate that hordes would be waiting in lynch mobs to avenge their Bharat Mata’s supposed Barbaadi on you or maybe you both must have been planning a revolution.

The living ambiance and social milieu of the Dubai campus of Manipal University are also reflected in an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research. There is freedom to define and design course content or start new courses. Research themes evolve with new developments in the area and the interface between different areas of study. Everyone at the university competes with himself/herself to excel in their own field of research. Manipal is academically and socially a vibrant place where all have spaces to express their views.

As a head of the Department of Media & Communication of Manipal University, you and the co-author should understand the freedom of speech guaranteed to the citizens. It has to be kept in mind that you are enjoying this freedom only because you are a professor of Manipal University, you are guarded by your colleagues and the top management, while Indian armed and paramilitary forces are protecting your family, friends and relatives and your co- Indian brothers in the most difficult terrain in the world i.e. Siachen Glacier or Rann of Kutch. India is a living example of unity in diversity. Freedom of expression enjoyed by every citizen can be subjected to reasonable restrictions under Article 19(2) of our Constitution.

Hope you both are aware that, earlier we have compared noted actor Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran, whom Aamir had quoted in an award function saying that his wife felt unsafe in the current situation of the country to the wife of martyred Col Mahadik, who apparently made a statement saying her children would also join the Indian Armed Forces.

We have to understand that the words and speech can be criminalized and punished only in situations where it is being used to incite mobs or crowds to violent action. Mere words and phrases by themselves, no matter how distasteful, do not amount to a criminal offense unless this condition is met.

You are not quite enough towards patriotic thoughts. And how indeed can students grow up as proud, responsible citizens if they do not pause before the main entrance and shout, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ on their way to the classes or back. But then you clearly do not believe your students to be patriotic enough. Or you are convinced that they do not ‘admire’ the Indian Army enough.

Do not be deterred, sir and madam by the ridicule and the scorn. The world may be laughing at you but the brave son and daughter of Mother India that you are, you must ignore the barks and continue to serve the ‘community’ with more of your brilliant ideas. You both could encourage your students to participate in RTA and distribute free Iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan. You both could install a huge broom, the world’s largest, to remind and inspire students of the ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission at your campus. You should make it mandatory for students to listen to the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ in which he teaches, advises, promotes and encourages to the students and the youths of the nation, who are the building blocks of the country.

Hope other head of the departments will learn from you. They are far less patriotic than you are and obviously far less brilliant. I don’t know how you get those ideas and how you enter into this prestigious university without having any liable academic diligence experience. Does the secret lie in Gomutra or Boot licking? For the students’ sake, do please disclose the secret so that the country prospers.

I have no doubt on this as you were a student of JNU and Professor Nivedita Menon. The day is not far when Manipal University, Dubai Campus will become JNU (in terms of anti-nationalists).

Whenever some infection diffuses in a limb, an effort is made to cure the same by giving antibiotics orally and if that does not work, by following the second line of treatment. Sometimes it may require surgical intervention also. However, if the infection results in infecting the limb to the extent that it becomes gangrene, amputation is the only treatment. Hope Senior authority of Manipal University understands it.

There is a 10-year-old girl, Aditi, who understand the nation and its ebbs and flows far better than you both.

You will be shocked to find who testified against Bhagat Singh in the landmark case ‘Union of India Vs Bhagat Singh’

0

The two men who witnessed against Bhagat Singh were Indians. They were Shobha Singh and Shadi Lal.

For this infidelity, both of them were rewarded with the title of ‘SIR’ by Britishers and of course, there were other underhand benefits.

Shobha Singh received humongous wealth and a number of goverment tenders. The Shobha Singh School (now Modern Public School) on Barakhamba Road, near Cannaught Place is one of the apparent consequences.

On the other hand, Shadi Lal got acres of land near Bagpat, UP and even today a number of sugar mills in Shyamali are owned by his successors.

The flak from Indians was obvious. When Shadi Lal died, shopkeepers denied to give even a piece of fabric to cover his corpse.

However, Shobha Singh was fortunate. Number of places were named after his father; Punjab’s Sujan Singh Gaon (village) and Delhi’s Sujan Singh park are named after his father.

Shobha Singh had a son, Khushwant Singh. He started to write articles and columns for various national dailies and in turn got into contact with many prominent personalities. He had just one aim – to establish his father’s image as that of a martyr.

He has written plethora of stories and articles, moulding historic events as per his opinion, some of which are bestsellers.

So, the fact that the celebrated author, Khushwant Singh was the son of a traitor, isn’t known to many.

For those who would say that stigma of an ancestor’s deed should not be attached to evade the contribution of their descendents. Well, it should be if the successor’s contribution was a result of wealth accumulated by their forefather’s treachery.

Khushwant Singh studied at Modern School, New Delhi (mentioned above), which is now a reputed institution of the city and went to King’s College, London for his higher education, which was extremely exceptional and rare for someone in British India.

No doubt he is an amazing writer, but he garnered the talent and skill from the high end institutions, which are a dream for some of us even after a century.

All this, if not from the wealth earned by misdeeds of his father, then how?

Edit – Khushwant Singh accused of twisting facts to shield father in Bhagat Singh case.

Caste prejudices reborn: All thanks to the secular party Congress

0

If the chaos in Maharashtra today is any indication, the curse of caste divide is on a rise again and this was bound to happen. The dynamic duo of Modi-Shah is solidifying there grip on Indian political landscap with every passing election and for the opposition which is as desperate as Congress, the only option left is to divide the primary vote bank of NDA based on the caste.

The political discourse (although a refreshingly strong one) adopted by Congress during the Gujarat election campaign did set a tone as to where they want to lead this fight. Giving a legitimate political voice to thugs like Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mewani and Kalpesh Thakor, congress has not only dug itself deep into the shit hole of caste based politics but are now continuing to dig this shit hole deeper and further weaken the foundation of a unified India.

The latest tweet from the Rahul Gandhi simply confirms my suspicion of a deeper conspiracy by congress since his confidence level in his tweet while blaming BJP/RSS for today’s violence (without any investigation and a ground report of BJP/RSS instigating violence) is just off the charts.

I would sincerely hope the Maharashtra government does some serious investigation on who instigated today’s violence and the perpetrators are prosecuted regardless of how solid their political foundation is.

Can BJP ever win in Tamil Nadu?

0

I am in a good position to answer this question. I have lived in Delhi for 8 years during my childhood and most of my relatives are settled in Delhi and Mumbai. I like the BJP, mainly due to Modi and Parrikar.

The main drawbacks for the BJP in Tamil Nadu are:

  1. Absence of a popular Tamil speaking BJP leader. A good Tamil speaking leader of the caliber of Modi or Parrikar is required.
  2. Most of the BJP leaders speak only in Hindi at press conferences and only about 20% of people in TN can understand Hindi well.
  3. TN is already prosperous by Indian standards. I think only Maharashtra and NCR are ahead of Tamil Nadu in terms of overall development. This can be attributed to the importance given to academics by parents even from the poorer strata of society more than anything else. People don’t feel that a change is required since things are already pretty good.
  4. Unlike Northern India that was constantly under the attack of invaders from Afghanistan prior to the British rule, TN historically had much fewer religious conflicts. Polarization of voters is very less since communal harmony in TN is very good when compared to Delhi and Mumbai. There are many staunch Hindus in TN as well but consider religion and politics as separate entities.

I feel that BJP can become significant in TN only if a good Tamil speaking leader of the caliber Modi or Parrikar emerges.

When will India return Jaipur back to Pakistan?

0

Pakistan is simply not co-operating with India in this process.

The Narendra Modi-led BJP government had spoken to the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif about returning Jaipur to Pakistan way back in 2015.

Pakistan’s claim is only for Jaipur (a land mass amidst Rajasthan of 111.8 sq.km) which is approximately 617 KM away from India-Pakistan Border is hypothetical.

There is a major issue like what Pakistan faced in 1947 to connect between present-day Bangladesh and Pakistan, the Indian territory in between. For which the Indian government has proposed to create an underground tunnel of 620 KM. Pakistan seems to have invested in CPEC already, and the tunneling process at 0.75 Billion Dollars per km would cost approximately $450 Billion.

CPEC is a disaster which Pakistan fails to understand, Jaipur would rather add vows to their problems thanks to the cost involved in the tunneling process. If a country is not capable of paying $50 Billion, thereby submitting themselves to China, then at $450 Billion, Pakistan would be a good buy for any nation interested in good geographical connect to the Middle East and the African nations.

But any nation would consider Return on Investment as Jaipur isn’t economically viable and the tunneling cost is twice the Pakistan’s GDP. So you guys just forget about Jaipur.

Before jumping on me in the comment’s section, this question is a troll, and I wanted to answer it the way it has to be done.

The Ramayana being true, we need to re-write our History

‘See Venice and die’

This is the proverbial proverb, from the West. This is a small part of a huge servile system that we Indians have been unmindfully following since British times, unaware of our own heritage and ancient Indian’s mindboggling advances made in science and technology. By now we Indians ought to have coined our own saying like, ‘See Belur and die’ or See ‘Ellora and die’ but unfortunately till date we are following the same ‘Venice’ example.

Since from our childhood, we have been hearing of Belur (Chenna Kesava Temple), Halebeedu (Hoysaleswara Temple) Ellora, Ajantha, Konark but have failed to look deeper inside this wonderful architecture, with a critical acclaim. This extraordinary architecture was hailed by International historians but yet they had to limit their accolades to the skills of the sculptors within the shrunk historical circa. They failed to see beyond. However, today, some excitement is building up about these wonder architects, as more and more secrets are being unraveled. As a result, Indians have started looking into these wonderful carvings afresh and have started probing the creator’s real capabilities and the advances in technology they made in thousands of years ago. Pleasingly, the recent Science Channel’s revelations on India’s Adam’s bride (Rama Sethu) that is linking India and Sri Lanka has certainly excited Indians further.

This month I had been to Belur, Halebeed in Karnataka, Tanjore Big Temple in Tamil Nadu and Konark in Orissa. This may be my second visit in 30 yrs, yet I felt as if I am looking into these phenomenal architecture first time because this time I have examined these carvings with a fresh vision. Fresh and unbiased but with a critical eye, spending 5 hours at Belur and Halebeed each. It was marvelous, incredible, astonishing. Stones were carved into finest details as if this hardest stone, the Granite, were first turned into a soft limestone and only then they could carve out the whole temple. The countless numbers of statutes are not just an ornamental repetition, but each and every statue is unique and tells a story independently and collectively too.

Beautiful, expressive smiling women with mesmerizing hairstyles, sparkling eyes smiling at you as if its a living angel.

The Goddesses were adorned with gold ornaments which were carved out with finest details, unbelievable designs, wearing transparent midis (yes midis), high heel footwears, watching themselves at a handheld mirror demonstrating to the world that eve’s fashion is much older in India and in fact, the eve of India, a thousand years ago, were pathfinders to the modern world’s fashion.

Belur is not merely a 12th Century temple, but the fashion show that has been exhibited around the temple will take our memories back to Harappan and Mohenjodaro. I carefully examined half of the statues and models. What I found was startling. There are Indian faces, faces from north of Vindhya, South of Vindhya, western India, Eastern India, hold on, yes there are also faces from Europe, Africa, China, Mangol. Unbelievable? Does this show that the Indians had an International connection say, thousand years ago? Or this different racial profiling of humans does represent the Mahabharata time, rather than a contemporary International connection?

There is one, that looks like an Egyptian. Yes probably, but the guide behind me was telling his school children that the statue represents a ‘Judge’! wow! There are many statuettes with a helmet like headgear, and the stunning aspect of this what I noticed was the helmet has a transparent face shield too. Unbelievable? But true. The pillars were carved with circular plates and were remarkably polished. The stone cutting, rock cutting, stone polishing, carving technologies were superb and our modern time machine, drilling, polishing technology are no match.

Hold on. Some more. There are optical illusions. For Indians it’s not new and its part of thousands of years legend. Yes, you close one part and you see an elephant and close another part you can see a Bull. Wait Some more in store. Inside Belur temple, there is a pillar called ‘Nrusimha Sthambha’. This is a stunner. This pillar is filled with beautiful ornamental carvings with minute details. It is astonishing to think about what tools they did use, and how their hands could reach inside, that is a 6″ space? Alas as if not enough, look at the ceiling. An ornate circular ceiling filled with stunning intricate carvings in circles. At the centre, a small cylindrical structure, projecting downward. The diameter of this would be approximately equivalent to our ceiling fan canopy. On this small face, there is a stunning carving, depicting ‘Nrusimhavatara” There is no end to my excitement.

There are Animals, Flowers, decorative petals, hanging garlands, intricately designed ropes (3D shapes) wrapped around the stone pillars, designer doors, ventilator shields. gold ornaments, transparent clothes, swords, horses, elephants, weapons and more and more.

The Ramayana and the Apes

1) The Ramayana and Mahabharat are not just myths. There is no logical reason to believe them as an imaginary story. The chroniclers had a style of recording the historical events then. This style and some part of exaggeration need not lead us to the conclusion that its a myth. It is full of historical events recorded in a storytelling fashion. In the Ramayana, there is a flying dragon, that is Jhatayu’. Dragons were referred in all ancient texts of the Asian world.  The Kishkinda, the Apes Kingdom was historically and anthropologically a recorded fact. So, this Apes Kingdom will take the Ramayana time nearly back to 40,000 to 1,00,000 BCE. Any fantasy writer really wishes to bring fantasy to his story, would have naturally brought strange animals into his story but not mindfully the Apes, unless it was in existence and truly behaving on par with humans. This one evidence suffices to take back the Ramayana nearly 50,000 yrs BCE, that coincides with the recent Science Channels scientific findings

2) Another far-fetched aspect of our scientific division of human evolution is Paleolithic era (Old Stone Age) and Neolithic era (New Stone Age). The former lasted 2.6 million years to 10,000 years. The later 10,000 yrs to 2000 yrs. This means human evolution took 26 Lakh years, but intelligence developed just in the span of 10,000 years. This is where the doubt arises. It is questionable indeed.

3) Recent enthusiastic researchers have come up with an answer for this ancient humans advancement and mindboggling structures they created. It is their association with visiting Aliens. At the outset, they are dubbing the 1000 yr old Indians who created the Big Temple in Tanjore, Konark in Orissa, Belur, Halebeed and Shravan Belagola are primitive and suggesting that they could achieve this unbelievable construction to their association with the then visiting ancient Aliens. This theory implies, that while visiting aliens were constructing these marvels, the native primitive humans were watching in awe.

The Aliens theory is not sustainable for the simple fact that space travel against the time and space was an impossible task. To travel by crossing interstellar space of light years distance is obstinate. The only possible Alien origin could be our own Mars. This is because of its nearest position to Earth. Then, however, according to one theory by Dr John Brandenburg, life came to an end on Mars, nearly half a billion years ago, by a nuclear attack on Mars by some Aliens. Half a Billion years ago, according to our own researchers, Earth was just a dead rocks. So nothing matches.

The only plausible theory to answer these puzzles is the very land of our Aryavartha, and it’s incredible age. This land is the origin of human intelligence, which fact is perfectly tallying with the timing of our Epics and detailed Geographical description of this subcontinent that can be found in our Puranas.

There is a puzzling missing gap in our History.

This fear is lingering in our minds since ages. The western Indologists were basically from the Abrahamic background. For them, Jesus Christ is the cradle of their genealogy, irrespective of the credential of Jesus Christ’s historicity So they could not imagine a well-advanced nation like India in the East, with a 10,000 yrs rich heritage, and willingly or otherwise, they had placed our Vedic period just a 1500 yrs before Christ. This has compressed the vast period of Vedic history to a few thousand years. I really don’t know the credibility of the ‘Phantom Time Hypothesis, but surely a similar onslaught must have inflicted on Indian Sub Continent History, especially after the advent of Britishers. The early Christian Missionaries had a hand in this ‘Phantom Time Hypothesis’ like-conspiracy in order to impart credibility to the existence of Jesus Christ and Christianity, which was till date denied by their own western historians.

Late P N Oak’s findings may have been rubbished aside by Indian Leftists and liberal media and dubbed his findings are part of a Hindu superstition, yet his findings were very close to the truth and cogent too. Christianity is nothing but a phrase that was derived from Hindu ‘Krishna Neethi’, and the very name ‘Christ’ was derived from ‘Krishna’. The present Gregorian Calendar which is the official calendar of this age had a clear shift of Sanskrit months mispronounced and placing December (Dasa> 10th month at 12th position and started the year with January after Jesus Christ’s assumed birthday). For Hindus, the year begins with spring and nothing to do with Jesus’ birthday. So December is the 10th month, November (Nauv) being 9th month, October (ashta)  being 8th month, but somehow it all changed as part of a master conspiracy in the west in 16th Century, which gave birth to the Gregorian Calendar.

So we need to come out of this false pupa, in which we have locked ourselves for a long time, to discover our heritage and supremacy without any fear by shunning repressed mentality. This renaissance is need of the hour as otherwise, we will be doing a grave injustice to the mankind and insulting the study of every branch of human sciences, and will live forever in a misleading world.

Even some hardcore Leftist Intellectuals agree that the Epic Ramayana is nothing but a story of the ‘man’.

Modi and calculus behind “no” on Jerusalem

0

There’s been a disquiet in India’s public space over Modi government’s rejection of US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital in a United Nations General Assembly resolution recently.

This disquiet has grown to anger after Palestinian envoy in Islamabad was seen in the company of Mumbai attack mastermind and global terrorist Hafiz Saeed in Rawalpindi though a strong protest by India since then has led to envoy’s recall to home by the Palestinian Authority.

The erudite supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are questioning why he would stand with the Palestinian cause and vote against US, and Israel,  having worked so hard to get both of them eating out of his hand lately.

Modi had become the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel in July 2017 and the latter’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due to visit India in the first fortnight of the new year.

Israel’s support in the realm of technology, agriculture, security and defense has ramped up significantly in recent times and Trump misses no opportunity to gush over India and its leader.

The rabid supporters of BJP are aghast why their government would stand by “ungrateful” Muslims while it’s erudite patrons are questioning why New Delhi didn’t abstain from voting as 35 others had done.

Adding to the chill is US ambassador to UN Nikki Haley’s crude words “…this vote will make a difference…on how we look at countries who disrespect us in the UN.” Trump threatened to cut down funds to those who opposed him and Netanyahu called the UN a “a house of lies.”

The truth is, India did everything right on all three counts which should matter for the country: beneficial, practical and moral.

About 19 per cent of India’s total world trade is accounted for in the Middle East (as compared to nearly 1 per cent with Israel) which ought to halt in track the juggernaut of criticism. Such scales of benefit could only be denied by fools, if not blind.

The practical takeaways, if anything, are bigger. US has fallen flat on its face in West Asia and its strategy to sow discord and anarchy through Iraq invasion and conduits for the growth of Islamic State (IS) has been successfully reversed by Russia, in alliance with Iran, Syria and Hezbollah. So much so that even a traditional US supporter Turkey is on the opposite side of the fence.

The vacuum of US in the Middle East would soon be filled up by Russia in alliance with China which is using its typical trade and infrastructure growth route to look for strategic stranglehold in the region. India would be foolish to be seen standing in opposition to the new Big Boys in the region. India can’t overlook the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) too which would encircle it in an iron clasp more so since China is parking itself on ports of Sri Lanka. Letting go of West Asia at this stage would be a suicide, no less.

By rejecting the Trump’s move on Jerusalem, India is also letting the world know of its independence lest it be seen as a US lackey. It would earn India respect and a sense among its friends that it’s a principled ally. Further, India can’t allow itself to be bound by Trump’s often hasty and boorish decisions.

Absentation would’ve been a paper umbrella—only giving the notion of protection against a downpour. It would still have earned a scorn from the free world, without quite endearing it to US or Israel. Worse, it could’ve emboldened them to see if they could kick around India in future.

India’s decision to stand on its moral compass would draw a host of lesser nations in its orbit. Forget criticism, Modi government’s move deserves a standing ovation.

To brush up history for the uninitiated, Israel has been controlling the eastern Jerusalem since the 1967 six-day war. It’s being sought by the Palestinians as the capital for its future state.
