Hindus celebrating Christmas – time to say what politically correct people won’t

0

If the Greek words “Kurios Christos” under the Sanskrit inscription “Paramarth  stavam evaikonananyosti jagatapate” meaning “You are alone the supreme Being; there is no other Lord of the world” in the mulasthanam of the Shantivanam church doesn’t give you an idea of the extent of Inculturation prevalent in the country, there are countless other examples.

Like every other year, even this year I received messages wishing me Merry Christmas! (mostly from Hindus, almost all in fact!) Just like every other year, I ignored many, replied to a few, asking some Hindus why they were wishing me for Christmas and what they knew about the festival. Most responses were the same old – it’s the birthday of Jesus (which it’s not by the way), we celebrate all religious festivals, to share the message of peace and love of Jesus, the usual clichés. Thus far nothing interesting. However, the most fascinating responses came from a WhatsApp group I was a part of called “UK Hindus” which mainly consisted first generation Indians that settled in the UK.

I expected them to answer along the lines of “We live in the UK and it’s a big festival here, so even we celebrate it and wish other people too”. But the replies intrigued me. An elderly person who regularly gives lectures on the ‘Vishnu Sahasranama’ said the following: Jesus is the son of the Supreme personality of Godhead ‘Kṛṣṇa’.

He then attached the following shloka from the Bhagavat Gita Ch.14-4:

sarva-yoniṣu kaunteya
mūrtayaḥ sambhavanti yāḥ
tāsāḿ brahma mahad yonir
ahaḿ bīja-pradaḥ pitā

(“It should be understood that all species of life, O son of Kunti, are made possible by birth in this material nature, and that I am the seed-giving father.”)

I quickly realised that this is a step beyond the well-known phenomenon of Hindu universalism and acceptance of other faiths. This is a form of “reverse inculturation” and accepting it brings various complications to the table of inter-faith dialogue.

He even sent a picture from an ISKCON temple somewhere in the west claiming that his view of Jesus and Krishna is perfectly acceptable and shouldn’t be a cause for concern. After all, it is preached by ISKCON itself.

The picture depicts Krishna and Radha in Santa costumes with snow and X-mas tree in the frame.

I understood the situation and tried to explain how these kinds of perversions are more harmful to Hinduism than to others and sent him a picture of how inculturation is used to convert unsuspecting, naïve Hindus in many parts of India.

At first glance, you may think that this is the famous 18 steps Padi Puja of Ayyappa commonly done in South India, but a closer examination will show the Christian Symbolism all over the set-up with a cross right at the centre (with a Serpent above?).

I told him the various methods employed by the Missionaries in the country, especially in the rural areas mainly using Hindu symbols, rituals, deities and slowly introducing the Christian elements into them and completely eliminating anything Hindu that is left in it. This is just one example and there are countless other instances of similar cultural genocides taking place all over the country.

Although he claimed that he understood what’s happening is wrong and people shouldn’t be fooled and tricked through such means, he still maintained his position on Jesus and Krishna being similar in their teachings and nature. He also said that he believed in his Guru’s words and stated that we should try to unite people and not divide them over differences.

I clearly stated that my position on uniting people is similar, but it’s the Church and many Christians that would find a problem with the teachings he is proposing. Moreover, the Christian doctrine is completely opposed to such views and cannot reconcile with his beliefs of Jesus and Krishna. I explained to him the core of the Christian doctrine and how his “all-is-same” beliefs are contradictory to both the Hindu and Christian doctrines. I also elucidated the history of the Church opposing inculturation and later half-heartedly accepting it as it’s increasing the number of believers in the third world countries.

In the meantime, another person jumped into the conversation and posted another picture along with a message that shocked (not really) me:

The statement of Christ is simple: “He who sent me among you will come again!” and he pointed to a Lamb. The Lamb is merely a symbol, a sign. It stands for the Voice – Ba-Ba; the announcement was the Advent of Baba. “His Name will be Truth,” Christ declared. Sathya means Truth. “He will wear a robe of red, a blood-red robe.” (Here Baba pointed to the robe He was wearing!). “He will be short, with a crown (of hair). The Lamb is the sign and symbol of Love.”

Christ did not declare that he will come again. He said, “He who made me will come again.” That Ba-ba is this Baba and Sai, the short, curly-hair-crowned red-robed Baba, is come. He is not only in this Form, but, he is in every one of you, as the dweller in the Heart. He is there, short, with a robe of the colour of the blood that fills it.

The above two paragraphs was want was sent along with the image.

At first, I didn’t know how to respond to this criminally irresponsible and foolish acceptance of such interpretations. I repeated myself explaining that these are all well thought out strategies used by Hindu gurus and preachers to attract more western audience into their fold without doing or not bothering to do a Purvapaksha of the other.

But anyone with some basic understanding of these two worldviews will inevitably conclude that they are irreconcilable and are fundamentally different at their core and in their approach towards spiritual or universal truths. The Christian cannot accept such alterations or additions to his core belief that Jesus is the only saviour who came down from Heaven to save him from sin. The Hindu worldview is very different from this and doesn’t even has a concept of an original sin or the need of a personal saviour.

The Hindu gurus who promoted such ideas didn’t bother to indulge themselves in this critical analysis of these two different worldviews and arrive at the right conclusion of their foundational incompatibility. This resulted in a nexus of their progeny who are very defensive in their beliefs and will call anyone who offers criticism of such suppositions, divisive and radical. They consider it blasphemous to question the understanding of their progenitors. (Sheeplike)

All of this nevertheless has an almost minuscule effect on Christians or Christianity. The largest victims of this imprudent interpretations are the poor, helpless Hindus who are getting converted en masse every single day in India. Inculturation in Christian India is an Undeniable fact and “Liberal Hindus” not looking at it objectively is only increasing the concerns of vigilant Hindus.

The Christian Ashrams continue to grow, so do the Church-Temple edifices. Our broad-hearted Hindu gurus keep on giving talks, teach yoga and help foreigners find enlightenment all the while not asserting their true identity even in India. There could be many reasons for Hindu gurus and spiritual leaders to not do this, losing some followers and appearing communal might be the foremost among them.

This right here is the “Internal Threat” facing us within the context of Inculturation. The lack of intellectual rigour and callousness of most Hindu intellectuals and educated Urban Hindus while dealing with other faiths is a greater threat to Dharma and its survival than Inculturation itself. A lot of damage has already been done to Hinduism and its traditions in the form of Digestion and Inculturation over the past few centuries. It is increasing day-by-day and none of our leaders seem to care enough to take serious action on these happenings. While more awareness about the problem that is staring in our face is required, cognizant Hindus are also responsible to protect their traditions and present a challenge to these archetypes of malice from outside and naïvety from inside.

Once again, it is the common Hindu with no financial, academic or institutional support that is left to safeguard our culture and traditions both from outside forces and “internal passivity”.

The Freelancers of chaos

The New Year couldn’t have begun on a worse note than what we came across on the very first day of 2018. As the rest of the nation was indulging in a food and dance binge wishing even strangers with the cheers of “Happy New Year”, villagers from Koregaon-Bhima, Pabal, and Shikrapur in Pune district of Maharashtra were pelting stones to hit the skulls of those with whom they might be living in harmony since generations. As the maelstrom subsided, one person had died and 25 vehicles were torched in clashes that broke out between villagers on 1st January over a celebration of a 200-yrs old “victory” of Mahars over Peshwa Bajirao II’s Army on January 1, 1818.

The ripples of the incident travelled far and wide across Maharashtra with many incidence of violence in Nagpur, Aurangabad and Mumbai on 3rd January in a day-long state-wide shutdown called by various Dalit parties on Wednesday. The question is what led to the violence?

It all started with Koregaon-Bhima, a small village in Pune district, where many members of Dalit communities gathered on January 1st on the dawn of the new year to commemorate the 200th anniversary celebrations of a small Anglo-Maratha War fought on January 1, 1818, which some traditions claim that the British won. However, the war, otherwise fit for the footnotes of history, is important because it is flaunted as the victory of the ‘Mahars’ over the upper caste Marathas. Hence, the incident fits perfectly in the zigsaw of ‘Dalits vs Upper Castes’ narrative and finds instant takers by some opinion leaders.

A careful digging of history on this war may take you to the Poona District Gazetteer, which was compiled by an ICS officer James Campbell as part of the Bombay Presidency Gazetteers. The Gazetteer, mentions that as a part of the Third Anglo-Maratha War, a battle had taken place at the village of Koregaon, 16 miles northeast of Pune, where 834 British troops faced 28,000 Marathas on January 1, 1818. It would be interesting to delve a little deeper into it in order to debunk the various insinuations originating around it.

As per the official record, the British troop comprised the second battalion of the first regiment Bombay Native Infantry of 500 soldiers led by Captain Francis Staunton who was assisted by 300 auxiliary horsemen and two six-pounder guns manned by 24 European and 4 Native Madras artillerymen. The troops marched from Sirur for Poona at 8 pm on December 31, 1817 and reached the Bhima River next morning to face the Peshwa’s army of 25,000 Maratha horses. However, Peshwa Bajirao-II sent only three small infantry units comprising 300-600 men each from the Arabs, Gosavis and native fighters, which under the support of the cannon and rocket fires, crossed the river from three sides and besieged the British troops in Koregaon village cutting off their food and water supplies.” Devastated by hunger and thirst, the British thought of surrendering but held on to their position.

However, “as night fell”, the Gazette mentions, “the attack lightened and they (the British) got water.” By 9 PM the firing ceased and the Marathas left, fearing the rumor of arrival of a larger troop of General Smith, while Capt Staunton marched back to Sirur the next morning with his army carrying his near-death experience. The British record mentions that out of 834 British soldiers, 275 were killed, while the Maratha casualty was around 500 to 600. The above account is also mentioned by James Grant Duff in his book, ‘History of Marathas.’

The East India Company, however, strongly praised the bravery of its soldiers and erected an obelisk in 1822 at Koregaon to serve as a ‘victory tower’ for one of the “proudest triumphs of the British Army” in India.

The Gazetteer doesn’t mention a Maratha defeat, nor does it mention a British Victory. Secondly, the Gazetteer doesn’t mention the caste composition of the British army. Some later descriptions mention that the British army consisted mainly of Mahars, although historical accounts revealed by Vasant Moon (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Writing and Speeches Ed. 2003) that the British army under Capt Staunton consisted of native Parwaris, Marathas, Rajputs, Muslims and Jews, apart from Mahars. The inscription on the Koregaon obliske mentions the names of the 49 dead Indian soldiers of the British army and as per V. Longer in his History of the Mahar Regiment (1981), 22 were Mahars or Parwaris, 16 were Marathas, 8 were Rajputs, two were Muslims, and one or two were probably Indian Jews.

So, let’s summarize our lessons. First, no matter what the tradition says, it’s a historical fact that neither side achieved a decisive victory in the battle. Second, It was not a battle between the Mahars at one side and the Marathas at the other, as both armies were a strategic potpourri of castes, races, religions and nationalities. Whereas the Marathas formed a part of the British army, some Mahars also fought from the Maratha side, as the Mahars had historically been a part of the Maratha armies. Just to quote R.K. Kshirsagar (Dalit Movement of India and Its Leaders: 1857-1956), Mahar warriors and leaders always played prominent roles during Shivaji, Rajaram and various Peshwa rulers. He mentions that Nagnak Mahar was prominent in the reign of Rajaram so was Shivnak Mahar, who was gifted the village of Kalambi by Rajaram, Rainak Mahar fought Raigarh and Shidnak Mahar saved the life of Peshwa general Parshuram Patwardhan during the Battle of Kharda in 1795. Third, the memorial at Koregaon has nothing to do with the glorification of the Mahars or has got least to do with the claimed “victory” of Mahars over the Marathas.

Hence, the “Them Vs Us” narrative at Bhima-Koregaon is nothing but a mischievous spin-off of the Dalit identity movements of the first half of the 20th century, when Dalit leaders, especially Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, started visiting the Victory Tower of Koregaon from 1927 and propounded the theory in 1941 that the Mahars defeated the Marathas in the battle of Bhima-Koregaon. Thus, he appropriated the symbol of a pure British legacy as a Mahar symbol and used the Victory Tower to give muscle and credence to his own brand of identity politics. The same brand of identity politics, i.e. demonization of the Brahmins and the Upper Castes and presenting themselves as a victim of Brahmin atrocities, has been sequestrated by the contemporary Dalit leaders and leftist academicians who succeeded in marketing it well on global forum.

The narrative of atrocities has never been put to a rigorous academic scrutiny, which would reveal that caste atrocity is coterminous with caste hierarchy where any caste higher in hierarchy than the others tends to oppress and exploit the latter. Even Mahars considered fellow Dalits, like Mang and Bhangis as inferior and polluted and didn’t accept food from them till late. Further, as far the exploitation goes, they didn’t allow a Mang caste groom to ride a horse during the Peshwa period and forced them to ride oxen during marriages. Several studies point that many Dalit castes are rivals and communal tensions among them are frequent. A study by Prem K. Shinde found more than 900 Dalit sub-castes throughout India, with internal divisions, who compete among themselves for higher status and, claiming relative higher gotra status, refuse to dine and intermarry with lower gotras. Although the Khateek (butchers) are generally viewed as a higher caste than Bhangis, the latter refuse to offer cleaning services to Khateeks, believing that their profession renders them unclean. They also consider the Balai, Dhobi, Dholi and Mogya as unclean and do not associate with them. A Dalit Sikh claims a superior status over the Hindu Raigars, Chamars and Ravidasis and refuses to intermarry with them. Sociologists like M.N. Srinivas have showed that atrocities on Dalits are often more committed by the intermediate castes, like Vanniyar in the South and the land-owning Yadavas in the north. However, a “Brahman Vs Dalit” narrative sells well in the west that ensures flow of huge money from western Churches, donors and Foundations.

Jignesh Mewani, Prakash Ambedkar, Kanhaiya Kumar and Chandrashekhar (Bheem Army), apart from many others, are some of the few claimants of that coveted narrative and it’s resultant benefits. Thus, with competing enthusiasm, such Dalit leaders have blamed the RSS for the violence against Dalits in Bhima-Koregaon. Rahul Gandhi has also remarked that RSS’s vision is to keep Dalits on the bottom of society.

The “Brahman Vs Dalit” narrative is not complete unless the fountainhead of Hindu unity and consciousness – the RSS – is dragged into the debate and run down as an anti-Dalit and Pro-poor outfit. That’s why there has been a conscious, deliberate and persistent attempt by the leftist and Dalit ideologues to denigrate the RSS and, through selective research and sponsored publications, besmirch its pro-Dalit credentials.

Although this write-up is not about RSS or its activities, it’s pertinent to mention that no organization has done as much for the upliftment of the Dalits and eradication of the caste-system in rural India as the RSS has done and volumes of research and publication is available to support how the top leadership from Golwarkar to Deoras to Mohan Bhagavat, have not only maintained it as an official policy but ensured that it translates into ground action. Rather, defragmentation of Hindus and ending all forms of caste discrimination in the hinterlands of India has been fundamental to the RSS ideological core, i.e. Hindu unity. However, partially due to inability of the RSS to effectively dispel the canard by positive campaigning about its actions on the ground level and partly also because of the historical suppression of Pro-RSS research and publications in the left-dominated academia, the “anti-Dalit RSS” narrative has become the mainstream intellectual discourse, which is as mindlessly consumed by the masses as a fast-food delicacy.

This doesn’t absolve ‘Shivjagar Pratisthan’ President Sambhaji Bhide Guruji and ‘Hindu Janjagruti Samiti’ President Milind Ekbote from their culpability in inciting the villagers around Bhima-Koregaon to attack on the people participating in the January 1st commemoration. The state government must deal the Hindu Ekta Manch goons with iron hands and RSS must intervene to reign in the two leaders, who are undoing many things that the RSS has been doing. Although much detail is not available on the exact sequence of action in Koregaon violence, but the acts of the followers of Sambhaji Bhide and Govind Ekbote are surprising as none of the two leaders have displayed any anti-Dalit approach in the past. Rather, many Dalits form the core of their respective outfits. Yet, the onus is on the state government to unravel the plot and punish the wrongdoers.

However, various media reports points to the dubious role of Jignesh and Umar Khalid who made provocative speeches suggesting an open rebellion against the democratic process with call to hit the streets. Such anti-democratic provocations appear to be the part of a larger conspiracy to defame and destabilize the elected governments and to create division among Hindus so that those surviving on identity politics could take advantage of it in 2019. The seeds of this divide-India conspiracy is being sprinkled since long, but the same sprouted during the Gujarat election and, with active incubation provided by the Congress, is fast taking roots all across India.

There appears to be a well-orchestrated attempt to spread disharmony and create disaffection in society using few local freelancers of chaos like Jignesh Mewani, Hardik Patel, Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khaled, who have already showed their intent with slogans like “Bharat ki Barbaadi tak jung rahegi jung rahegi”. The ‘jung’ has begun and the Gujarat model is spreading its reach. Now, the onus is on the government to unravel the conspiracy and defeat these merchants of disintegration.

Why would Indian Express blank the police statement that might have put the ‘Aadhaar FIR’ controversy to rest?

0

India Express, the pallbearer, err…flagbearer of Indian Mainstream Media, for two days running on its front page (there would be more Front Pages in coming days, be assured) has gravely stated (in its editorial) how the authorities are browbeating the journalists of this country.

The matter relates to a Tribune story in which one of its reporter could gain access to as many Aadhaar numbers as desired by buying a login and password for Rs 500 only. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Aadhaar’s regulatory body, in retaliation has gone to police, and lo and behold, all hell has broken loose. Indian Express, along with press bodies and Amnesty International, not to forget the Congress and other opposition skunks, are beating their chests in mourning.

A few questions to these pall-bearers are in order. Let’s begin with Indian Express. My beloved newspaper, why have you chosen to blank (sic) the statement of Delhi Police of Sunday which could have answered most of your insinuations misleading your innocent readers?

The Police in its official statement has stated that UIDAI had filed a “open-ended” complaint with the former’s cyber cell which the Police later converted into an FIR. Why then defame a regulatory body with a “crime” they never committed? Why hide the facts?

Two, while you cry hoarse and run your throat dry, why not report that the FIR says “unknown” under the column “accused”? Why hide the facts?

When UIDAI hasn’t named Tribune or its reporter as “accused” how could it be an attack on the freedom of the press? Could reporting a sequence of events be construed as an attack on free press?

UIDAI has also cleared its stand via a note, which states that they are duty bound to file an FIR whenever a crime takes place, and all the persons known to be involved in any capacity, have to be mentioned in this FIR. “It does not mean that all those named in the report are necessarily guilty or being  targeted” the note further states.

We must chip in and be on our feet to applaud the Police. When fake news monsters are misleading the public and avoid/neglect official reactions, the regulatory authorities increasingly are resorting to Social Media, press conferences, advertisements and official statements to convey their side of the story. Way to go, folks

Three, Indian Express actually should admonish fellow Tribune and its reporter for wasting Rs 500 when the allowed access is only to help personnel/officials address the grievances of citizens. Without security measures—highly encrypted ones—such as biometrics and iris, the newspaper report is not a “data breach” and can only be described as “misreporting” which the UIDAI has dryly noted.

Now let’s come to other jokers. Google practically has no trace of Editors’ Guild of India hard as I tried. No website. All I could do was to find it has just 2 tweets (yes, TWO!) since its’ joining in 2016. Such media-shy body is the custodian of free media in this country. The most my search could yield was a 2014 report which showed Barkha Dutt, Shekhar Gupta, Seema Chisti, Kumar Ketkar among others as its working committee members. And oh yes, Mrinal Pande as its specially invited member.

Indian Express quotes Editors’ Guild extensively and the latter is shown using grave words such as “booked” and “penalized” and “persecuted” when its just an FIR (converted too) and doesn’t name anyone as “accused.” Given the gravitas of this jury if it still happens to be around, you would believe the basic understanding of IPC is not beyond them. Surely, I do trust my washerman to come out with flying colours if he was subjected to such a test.

Such distinguished people ought to ask Indian Express–and themselves—whether betraying paying readers with fake news, and mounting a campaign in its support, amount to “cheating or loot” under the Indian Penal Code.

You also have Indian Women’s Press Corps in protest. Before you express your surprise at what’s our women journos grouse is in this case, you must be told the Tribune reporter happens to be a woman. Next time issues of “triple talaq” and other such matters flicker in your mind, my advisory is don’t look for the reaction of this august body. You see, women with pen aren’t the same as women under burqa.

And oh yes, there is Amnesty International too (Sorry folks, there was no prize for guessing). An important tycoon of “human rights industry.” An organization which is openly accused of being a “servant of US Warmongering Foreign Policy”, a ‘soft-power” of post-War colonialism, is outraged at the UIDAI move to protect its shed.

Let me share a fact-sharing website, Mental Floss, to bring a few truths on Amnesty International to light. The organization was inspired by the arrest of two Portuguese students in 1960 which may never have happened! This very organization had accused Nelson Mandela of promoting violence and didn’t campaign for his release in 1963-64. It concedes it takes money from governments “in some cases.”

The Aadhaar Mess : Poorly conceived by Congress , blindly followed by BJP

0

The recent article by Tribune on the data breach of Aadhaar and the subsequent decision by UIDAI to file an FIR on the journalist has led to questions about the safety of Aadhaar data. The ethical boundaries of journalism in this case are open for debate. But the concerns over security of the Aadhaar data and the system are real.

There are many serious problems in the Aadhaar project and the Aadhaar Act. I would like to lay down three facts related to Aadhaar in front of the reader. I shall explain the problems that arise/may arise during the implementation of Aadhaar system and Aadhaar Act because of these facts.

Fact 1 : Bio-metrics are not secure. They can be easily stolen, stored permanently and misused.

It’s an old cliché of security researchers: fingerprints might appear more secure than passwords. But if your password gets stolen, you can change it to a new one; what happens when your fingerprint gets copied? –  Hacker fakes German minister’s fingerprints using photos of her hands

Most of you may not have heard about the sensational story of German defence minister Ursula von der Leyen whose fingerprints were stolen at a press conference. The hacker used high definition images of her fingerprints and reverse engineered her fingerprints using a software called VeriFinger. The article rightly points out the major flaw in using bio-metrics as passwords

“Biometrics are not secrets… Ideally, they’re unique to each individual, but that’s not the same thing as being a secret.”

Problem 1:  Many advocates of Aadhaar say that it will lead to end of corruption and think of saving the poor people. The Prime Minister has also spoken of the savings due to targeted delivery of services. But it is not foolproof.

Fingerprints can be stolen once and saved forever. In the age of gadgets, one can procure a machine to record and store fingerprints of gullible poor who come to fair price shops. The finger prints stored can then be used to steal PDS grains forever. The same can happen to almost any government scheme. This would institutionalize corruption under the guise of transparency. Even if someone is stealing subsidies in the name of the poor, nobody will know.

As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Fact 2 :  Aadhaar Act allows information of a person to be shared only in two circumstances

Cases when information may be revealed: Aadhar information can be revealed only in two  situations. They are :

1) In the interest of national security, a Joint Secretary in the central government may issue a direction for revealing : (i) Aadhaar number, (ii) bio-metric information (iris scan, finger print and other biological attributes specified by regulations), (iii) demographic information, and (iv) photograph.

Such a decision will be reviewed by an Oversight Committee (comprising Cabinet Secretary, Secretaries of Legal Affairs and Electronics and Information Technology) and will be valid for six months.

2) On the order of a court,

(i) an individual’s Aadhaar number, (ii) photograph, and  (iii) demographic information, may be revealed.

Problem 2 : There is wide scope of available to the government to interpret the phrase ‘national security’ under the law. Those who underestimate this vague phrase should read about emergency declared by Indira Gandhi in 1975. She misused the phrase ‘internal disturbance’ in the constitution. Undefined vague terms are always open for misuse. In addition to this, the Parliament can always bring in a legislation to widen the cases where the data can be revealed by UIDAI.

Hence this provision in the law is a threat to civil liberties of all citizens in future. Ideally bio-metrics of citizens should not be collected in the first place. The USA is able to deliver services to citizens without collecting bio-metrics through the social security card.

Fact 3 : Only the UIDAI is allowed to complain about the unauthorized leak of information

Common citizen is not allowed to complain or file cases under the Aadhaar Act . :

47. (1) No court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under this Act, save
on a complaint made by the Authority or any officer or person authorised by it. – Aadhaar Act

Problem 3: This means , that the citizen , if he comes to know that his information by a person inside UIDAI has sold or leaked information without his/her consent, he/she can’t file a complaint. The potential offender holds complete discretion to file any complaint. This is absurd.

Poorly Conceived by Congress, Blindly Followed by BJP

The Aadhaar project, from the beginning, disregarded privacy and possible misuse of the citizens’ data. Worse still, the process of collecting data was given to franchisees without adequate safeguards and laws. Those having information can do anything with the information they have. The franchisees who collected data of citizens are not under the full control of government machinery.

There was no legal framework for the Aadhaar project. The first card was issued in September 2010. By November 2014 , 70 crore Aadhaar cards had already been issued and the 100 crore mark was reached swiftly in April 2016. The Aadhaar Bill was passed in Lok Sabha as late as March 2016. The card was given to anyone residing in India without distinguishing illegal migrants, refugees and citizens of India.

Compare this to the social security card given by the US government. The social security card is issued only to citizens of USA. And, it does not collect any bio-metric data of the citizen. The government could have studied other models and optimized them for Indian scenario.

The mess was started by Congress-led UPA government. The blame for flawed model of issuing the Aadhaar cards, without legislative backing goes entirely to the Congress. The mistake of hurriedly taking forward this project without proper study and analysis was committed by the BJP-led NDA government. The third mistake of asking citizens to link Aadhaar to bank accounts , PAN, IT returns , LPG and many other services without a foolproof data protection law belongs to NDA .

The government started framing the data protection law as late as August 2017. This was just three weeks prior to the historic Supreme court judgement which declared privacy as a fundamental right. The committee framing the law has called for public consultations for the first time on 5th January 2018.

The only hope is that the upcoming data protection law is fool-proof and effective in addressing the privacy concerns of citizens while ensuring effective delivery of services. One can only hope that the data with UIDAI is secure from unauthorized use in future. It is essential to quote the line from The Guardian article again at the end of this article.

“Biometrics are not secrets… Ideally, they’re unique to each individual, but that’s not the same thing as being a secret.”

Way to institutionalize the Right-Wing thought in India

0

Recently I listened the speech given by MEA (Mos), M.J. Akbar on Triple Talaq issue in Parliament. It was logical, fact-based, engaging, argumentative and delivered with a lot of calm and composure. And it gave me insight about; the elements which Right wing thought in India is missing. As it usually falls in trap of left led liberal propaganda and gave them space to raise their voice.

So, I identified a few points to strengthen the right wing thought in India and proliferate it to grass-root level. First thing, Every right-wing supporter already knows the hypocrisy of left intellectuals and liberals with divisive agenda. How they select the issues and twist that as per their agenda and ideology. Like they have recently shifted their focus from religion to caste after getting some dividend in Gujarat elections.

So, every right-wing supporter should capitalize on hypocrisy. Expose them in public debates. Like a lot of smart-trolls do on social media. They bring out the contradictions of left liberals and expose their divisive political agenda.
Secondly, bring back the speeches of their ideological idols like Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and how they projected contradictory thoughts at multiple times. Like our prime-minister Modi usually does in his several speeches given in parliament and election-rallies. Even M.J. Akbar used this same method, by quoting Nehru on Triple Talaq in parliament and opposition had no counter on it.

Thirdly, post 2014, BJP has changed the discourse of Indian politics. It has created a new class of no-nonsense nationalists. Now its imperative for right wing intelligentsia to spread the logical, rational and argumentative thought to these nationalists, to institutionalize this thought and does not remain like 5 year election phenomenon.

Problem with Right-wing intellectuals is that, many of them follow western model of right thought, which is inconsistent with Indian society. They should not find coherence in politics and economy and zero-sum approach in foreign policy; and counter the government on every issue.

Has any one thought, why some left leaning youth leaders have became famous but not a single leader from ABVP-India’s largest student organisation with pan-India presence? Yes, their anti-India agenda with left backing was the major force. But the other factor, I noticed was the presentation of thought in national media and over social media-although that thought was nothing more than divisive propaganda and hate-speeches.

But I have not found a single ABPV leader or BJYM leader speaking so fearlessly in media. Even not able to expose their false narratives and propaganda with sane and rational arguments. BJYM has become the launchpad for son/daughters of BJP senior leaders; And the right-leaning think-tanks have become elitist club only accommodating the UK/USA return management graduates as like Congress. And so-called famous representatives of Rightist thought (social-celebs) are also behaving like left intellectuals with no ground connect.

Finally, Politics is also a “battle of perception”. And left and congress have been able to spread negativity about present government failures on rural development. But the truth is that; any sane political analyst can say that Government has been more pro-poor and has designed many policies which will ultimately change the fate of rural regions and our agriculture based economy. But this thought has not reached to the grass-root levels and creating the perception of rural/urban divide; which was leveraged by opposition in Gujarat elections.

Countering the false narrative of left wingers and strive for own agenda is good. But spreading the agenda to the masses is more important than that. And strengthening the grass-root Right-wing supporters should be the priority if right-wing really wants to create an alternative discourse and institutionalize their thought in masses.

Did India really make a diplomatic blunder by voting against US on Palestine issue?

0

There are pros and cons of this decision.

Pros

  • India has successfully impressed Iran and Iran will not think twice to allow Indian interference in Chabahar Port. Chabahar Port is very important route for India to reach Afghanistan and furthur countries via road bypassing Pakistan, as well as it is a wonderful counter of CPEC. China and Pakistan are alleged to be secretly building a naval base in Gwadar too, with this port, India can keep a close eye on their activities. The picture  below perfectly defines why Iran and Chabahar Port is important for India.
  • Apart from this, relations with Middle East nations are important. No doubt they are biggest hypocrites and Anti-India, we cannot piss them off. Reason being, a lot of Indians work in these countries, and obviously we need Crude Oil and Petroleum.
  • We cannot piss Russians, by becoming the only country supporting USA in United Nations.
  • There is a saying, never trust America. American foreign policy is based on hypocrisy, they will not think twice to betray India when they can get a better deal. The biggest reason USA is becoming Anti-Pakistan for India, is because Pakistan is puppet of China, and India is considered as a counter of growing Chinese influence whole over the world and America is in direct competition with China.

Cons:

  • Being against Trump will definitely have some consenquences. That dude is simply unpredictable.
  • Israel is one of the countries, which has been Pro-India since its existence and is one of the few countries which India can trust. Going against them can be a mistake.
  • India and Israel shares wonderful relationships in all sectors, and Israel is providing a lot of innovative technology to India like desalination (turning ocean water drinkable).

According to me, India actually did a blunder voting against Israel. We should have abstained from voting, keeping both sides happy. Now India has taken a side which may prove to be dangerous afterwards.

Moral Code of Conduct of Liberals- Standard Operating Procedure

0

Liberals do not have any morals or code of conduct. Deep down they are nasty ,ugly & spiteful. They are full of malevolence & rancourness which are concealed under the cloak of sophistication, elitism, pseudo secularism & feminism .
Words mean nothing to liberals. They say whatever will help advance their cause at the moment, switch talking points in a heartbeat, and then act indignant if anyone uses the exact same argument they were using five minutes ago. Political debate or for that matter any kind of debate with the liberals are now impossible in India today. Because the moment they feel they are cornered & are in a danger of being exposed because of the lies they have spread they start calling you names, target your family & does all the dirty tricks possible  to silence you . While the Right / conservatives are trying to make an argument and go by facts, all the left liberals care about is vilifying that person & doing overtime work to extract some private information which they can leak on social media to harass that person. They are full of false pride & mock & demean others who do not fall in their ‘category’ .

For those who hold to doctrines – of which liberalism has many false doctrines/beliefs/etc. – the only possibility of success comes with shouting down your opposition. Since logic won’t work and there is no evidence, they have no choice but to resort to lying, ad hominem, false evidence, etc. They have nurtured & created an apt ecosystem just for this sole purpose & it includes liberals from all spheres.
Let us look at some of their recent acts:

1. Personal attacks – Leaking private & professional information.

This particular tactics is now being adopted to target the right & bog them down . They preach of morality & ethical behaviour but when it comes to following them they are the ist ones to abdicate it. An uncanny pattern is seen emerging where alleged fact checkers/ investigative journalists snoop on the right to extract personal information so that they can blackmail them & display it on social media to torment them.

It all started with Swati Chaturvedi’s venomous book ‘I am a troll’. More than a book on trolls it appeared the book was a kind of emotional outburst. An outburst on how ‘low life’ trolls in the recent past have exposed & punctured the lies of the lutyen cabal. How dare they? How dare the ‘trolls ‘ exposed their well articulated & constructed lies. But it did not stop there. She targeted one of them & deliberately decided to tweet about where he works &even urged the employer to sack him. The ecosystem quickly lapped it up & it soon became a standard operating procedure for our champions of free speech.

Oh then there are some Liberal Mp’s who goes on to do the same in the Upper house of Parliament.

They will debate about privacy & how it should be protected day in day out but the same lot goes on to reveal personal details of a  common man just to teach him a ‘lesson ‘.

They can not tolerate any point of view which speaks positively for this nation & tries to revive the ancient culture. They can not tolerate factual rebuttals. Another one who was targeted was True Indology. Reason: He was correcting the historical mistakes of the cabal. He countered the false news being peddled to enhance the hero worshipping of Tipu Sultan. He pointed out mistakes of an alleged fact checker/snooper & exposed his malicious intents.

The most frightening aspect is the collaboration of msm with such fact checkers .

Uncanny similiarity with islamists who threatened Rohit Sardana for questioning the hypocrisy of Bollywood. Same modus-opernadi , same techniques. The liberal media will carefully ignore it. More over they will probably add to it

Even new born babies are not spared .
This is another snooping example of the alleged fact checker. It literally gives a hint of veiled threat : ‘ We know you, we follow you, we know about your family . So be careful in future if you dare to expose my lies’

And guess what, he is considered as the messiah & social media rockstar. Can you imagine the reactions of the same bunch of liberal if a right wing personality stooped to this low? Probably NDTV would have been debating it for a week & it would have been the headlines in The Telegraph saying ‘ Modi follows the troll’ .

And not to my surprise even our stand up comedians are not far behind. The liberalism in them suddenly vaporise when their bluff/hypocrisy gets called out. The authoritarian & totalitarian side of the liberal comes to the surface.

If you can somehow force a liberal into a point- counterpoint argument, his retorts will bear no relation to what you have said — unless you were in fact talking about your looks, your age, your weight, your personal obsessions, or whether you are a fascist.

2. Elitist snobbery & mocking of the masses :

In their haste to be wiser and nobler than others, the anointed have misconceived two basic issues. They seem to assume that they have more knowledge than the average member of the benighted and that this is the relevant comparison. The real comparison, however, is not between the knowledge possessed by the average member of the educated elite versus the average member of the general public, but rather the total direct knowledge brought to bear though social processes (the competition of the marketplace, social sorting, etc.), involving millions of people, versus the secondhand knowledge of generalities possessed by a smaller elite groups.

Another characteristic of these liberals is always claiming a moral high ground & deriding others based on language, appearance & the region from where they come. They feel they have superior knowledge in all fields. Liberals love epithets. If you don’t agree with their positions, take cover.
Remember how Phogat sisters, Sehwag & Randeep Hooda was hounded for dis agreeing with Gurmehar Kaur. How haryanvis were insulted & mocked.

For them freedom of expression is a one way traffic

They were called names, insulted & their education background was questioned. Liberals not only turned a blind eye but they actively took part in it. Phogat sisters were called “trolls”, “hardly literate”  because they defended Haryana and opposed “Bharat tere tukde honge” gang.

Suddenly the “She is just 20 years old, don’t attack her” argument became invalid as the 20-odd year old Phogats are on the other side. These girls deserve abuse, contempt, ridicule because they say “Bharat mata ki Jai” & stood up for the unity of this country. All they did was to speak up against branding entire Haryana as anti-woman and talked about defending India’s interests.

3. Pseudo feminism & defending the indefensible.

Indiscriminate thought does not lead to indiscriminate policy. It leads the modern liberal to invariably side with evil over good, wrong over right. When it comes to protecting their own ecosystem their ”feminism” goes for a toss & it vaporizes in thin air.
They can go to any extent to side with their cabal & even ignore sexist remarks & forgive sexist predators.
Ex-

See how the gang gets together to pass off a sexist jibe from Mr. Tharoor. They will do whatever advances their cause of liberalism

Not to forget how they gave benefit of doubt to Mr. Tharoor during Sunanada Puskar Murder case & is still siding with him & in fact questioning the media organisation who are trying to open up the case.

Remember how some tried to cover up the deeds of Sexual predator Tarun Tejpal. Yes i am talking about Shoma Choudhury .

And then there is Sagarika Ghose who does not want any coverage of a rapist getting convicted. Why? Because he belongs to their gang. Every sin can be overlooked as long as it ticks the box of liberalism. Here their feminist side gets subdued.

Mahmood Farooqui is a convicted rapist of a foreigner student and also the co-director of the movie Peepli Live.
And this is how the cabal promotes the rapist.

Op eds were written & constructed to wash off the sins of Farooqi .

Then there are stand up comedians who crack nauseating sexist jokes & for the liberals it is cool & FOE.

What passes off as ‘ liberalism’ in modern times is anything but liberalism. In short, liberalism is based on one central desire: to look cool in front of others in order to get love. Preaching tolerance makes you look cooler. So what if you are being hypocritical & have different yardsticks for different section of people.

4. Absurdity , irrationality & selectivity :

Stupidity is a luxury and you will find that time and time again, those who are overwhelmingly on the liberal side are those who can afford to be.

Take this for example.

Business Stanadard promoting Khiljinomics

They are carefully building up the narrative of how islamic inavsions & barabaric rulers actually helped India. Without them this Mordern would be not possible. To be honest I will not be suprised if an article comes up saying Modi is only reaping the benefits of Mughal rulers’ solid foundation. Then there is eminent ‘liberal Muslim’ Shahid Siddiqui propagating the same .

The liberal jaamat will do everything to mock & taunt the present &  the past. The absurdity &  stupidity knows no bound.

They will mock our past, target the present & try to sink us down with all the power & influence they have. The ecosystem is well nurtured & have a thick skin. Liberals have no morals, they can sit back and criticize other people for failing to meet the standards that liberals simply renounce. I wrote extensively how the media is driven by the sole motive of being the main opposition party . How their bias is over-riding the facts.

Add to it the selective ‘FOE’. You can very well see persons on the right like Ashok Pandit, Madhur Bhandakar, Vivek Agnihotri standing up for Padmavati & artistic liberty. But on the other side I did not see a single voice standing up for Madhur Bhandakar when he was being threatened by Congress goons or for Vivek Agnihotri when he was manhandled in JU .

In fact they enjoyed every bit & mocked them.

That’s the basic difference. All liberals only have empathy for the exact same victims — always the ones that are represented by powerful liberal interest groups.

The liberal left will never ever compromise on their principles. The right should learn & stay united irrespective of the issues. These civilised erudite elite individuals have only one rule. A rule which unites them to protect their ecosystem. Times are hard & any crack or confusion will be used by the liberal thugs. They do not like to have another point of view in the room that they don’t squash and the way they try to squash it is by character assassination and name calling. Be ready in future for more concentrated attacks with new techniques & modalities.
