Spreading Hinduphobia: On the rise in the western countries

0

Recently, I came across an article on social media, that was published by Al Jazeera under The “Opinion” section. I was flabbergasted by the amount of hate mongering and Hinduphobia that was incorporated in the article. The writer crafted a fictitious narrative, which compared Hindu Nationalist with White Supremacist. A completely imaginary collation, to malign both Hindus and India, as a country on global level. Although, the effort to relate Hindus with neo-Nazis is on a rise since 2016 in these western countries (especially by Hindus of Indian origin.) This article went over the top with its delusional anti-Hindu concepts. It called for people around the globe to join the fight against Hindu nationalism, to renounce India as a secular democracy. The principle point of the article, was to annotate and “document” the pseudo-connection between Hindu Nationalist and White supremacist, based on vague assumptive conclusions.

Moreover, the article’s aim was to demonize Hindu Nationalists and India as a country, with its many poor and un-researched examples. I will present the true facts, which were either misrepresented or conveniently overlooked mainly about Hindu Nationalist and India’s current situation. Unlike the Al Jazeera’s article, I will not be conclusive without evidence, on the contrary I will leave some open-ended questions for people to decide for themselves.

It was a bit difficult to grasp the flow of piece as it has subjects from all over the place, like creating a grand narrative of White Supremacy relation to Hindus Nationalist, Aryan Race, to RSS, BJP, communal lynchings in India, atrocities on minorities in India, Yoga, vegetarianism, urging people to join the fight against Hindu Nationalists and many other subjects. The gap between understanding the terminology of pro country and anti someone is very vast in this article where Hindu Nationalist are framed as anti-minorities.

In the beginning the article mentions White supremacy and Hindu nationalism have common roots based on the idea of the ‘Aryan race’. The writer did not necessarily supported the Aryan theory and called it a “myth” ironically the article states relation between Hindu right wing and western alt-right wing goes all the way back to the construction of the Aryan race identity, the ideological roots of Nazism. Aryan race and connect between Aryans and Indian concept was an European concept and has no historical roots to India. I would like elaborate for better understanding for readers who are not aware about the Aryan invasion theory.

The word Aryan does not existed in any Historical Sanskrit literature, the word Arya does, which means a civilized person.

The Aryan concept was widely promoted by Max Muller without any proof or evidence and, was used by British to accomplish their tactics of divide and rule. Mentioning India was a Dravidian country and then atrocious Aryans invaded and pushed Dravidians to the south, hence urging Southerns to revolt against Northerners. Which they were not very successful in doing until post Independence some Indian politicians used it for their political agenda. Dravidian basically is not a race but a geographical identity. Which means, person belonging to a place where the three coast meets, that’s the southern part of India.

There are many historians and scholars have written extensively, debunking this theory. Discussing on this theory is like beating a dead horse over and over, however it is still taught in many universities and inculcated into the minds of the younger generation, also some writers still use it as a reference.

Scientifically, this theory was proved wrong, using DNA test which proves, that the DNA of the North Indians is the same as of South Indians. The research was done by University of Cambridge, University of Houston and University of Mysore, the documents are variable in public domain under Journal of genetics of these universities. All Hindu Nationalists know and acknowledge the fallacy of the Aryan invasion theory and Aryan ancestry, is a false narrative.

The theory was European by nature and has nothing to do with India or its history. Matter of fact, Germans were fascinated by Sanskrit and Indian culture from where Nazis stole the swastika symbol, which is a part of 5000-year-old Hindu Culture. Swastika is an ancient icon which symbolized divinity and spiritually, it was greatly respected as a religious symbol, until Nazis hijacked it around 1930. If the European had a fascination with Hindu culture, how are Hindus to blamed for this? Let us put this into perspective for modern times. If a current terrorist group, decided to appropriate a religious symbol from a religion, use it for terrorist activities and claim it as their symbol. Is the original religion or the religious symbol itself, to be blamed for the terrorist activities?

Additionally, the article states, western alt-right and Indian Hindu Nationalist share a common goal in eroding the secular character of their respective states. With a common “enemy” in Muslim Minorities, by referring to Republican Hindu Coalition’s support for President Trump. There are two aspect of this paragraph. One, the U.S. is a democracy, where people get the right to choose who you support and vote for may it be Democrats, Republicans, Green Party, Individuals or anyone else.

There are several Indian organizations and Hindu organizations who champion Hindu Rights, like the Hindu American Foundation, which is bipartisan organization. A survey done by India New England Newspaper, concludes 80% of Indian Americans (Indian per-dominantly are Hindus in U.S.) support Democrats. So, am I to infer or conclude, if Indian American do not agree with the left and decide to support the right, the Republicans, they automatically become Anti-Muslim?

In my observation, It is not the Alt-Right and Indian Nationalist who have a common enemy in “Muslim.” Western Countries and India, share a common enemy in the ideology of radicalized Islamic terrorism. Even large portion of Muslims, in the Western Countries and India acknowledges and condemns terrorism.

Then, you have individuals, like Linda Sarsour, a Muslim “activists” in America, who promotes Sharia Law, she actively trying to weave it into the fabric of American Life. She currently, calling on Muslims to wage “Jihad” against President Trump, an elected president of the oldest democracies. Last year, during her speech at the 54th Islamic Society of North America Convention (ICNA), she gave a shout-out to her “favorite person in this room.” This was none other than the radical Imam Siraj Wahhaj, whom Sarsour called her “mentor, motivator and encourager.” Wahhaj, is an accused co-conspirator of the September 11th Terrorist Attack on the United States.

Recently, the Police raid an Extremist Islamist Compound in New Mexico, where compound leaders were training children to become school shooters. One of the leaders of this terrorist camp was none other than Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, son of Siraj Wahhaj. However, I have not seen any one truly sounding the alarm on the rising radical Islamic forces in Canada and the U.S. Ironically, Linda was campaigning for Democrats. This is solely my counter argument without supporting either political party, seeking to counter the writer, who has referred to a Hindu Group supporting presidential candidate as a union between Hindus Right Wing and Alt-Right Wing. What your take on a pro‑Jihadi, accused terrorist mentored campaigning for the other side?

Seeking to further illustrate her preconceive notions and imaginary connection, she uses the words of Trump’s campaign strategist, Steve Bannon who praised PM Modi by calling him “The Regan of India.” She relishes this right-sided admiration and praise of India’s Prime Minister, to support her narrative and completely disregards other world leaders and global leaders, from different ends of the political spectrum, who hold Modi in high regards. For example, Tony Abbott Ex-Prime Minister of Australia praise Modi in stating “We have lot to learn from Prime Minister Modi”, former Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (from the Democratic party) had praised Modi stating him as “an Impressive speaker.” After demonetization by Modi government, where the government banned 500 and 1000 rupee notes, in order to abrogate fake currency from circulation.

Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates on demonetization said “Eliminate parallel economy and will bring transparency in the economy” (Gates had also praised Modi’s clean India efforts) Tim Cook also praised Modi’s effort stating “demonetization will have far deep effect.” Then World Bank’s CEO Kristalina Geogieva said “it will have a positive impact on the economy and world should study the step taken by India.” President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, congratulated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India’s historic rise in the Ease of Doing Business rankings, UN awarded PM Modi “Champion of the Earth” and the list goes on.

However, the writer chooses to mention Steve Bannon’s remark on Modi. Why, because mentioning the rest of the world leader and prominent business personalities praising Modi would not fit her agenda of creating fallacious narrative against Modi and Hindu Nationalist and their “relation with White Supremacy.”One of her many loose and weak examples, is the Canada’s organization Rise Canada’s logo, “which features a red maple leaf rising out of a lotus flower, which is often associated with Hinduism.” Again, Hindus are responsible for a Canadian organization uses of a Lotus in their logo?

Conveniently, the writer forgot to mention other things happening in Canada, for instance “Carry the Light” event hosted by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) which was formally announced as, “Open for public, anyone who seeking knowledge.” However, when Laura Loomer an American Jewish journalist tried to attend the event, she was stopped at the entrance and not allowed to even go pass the hallway. Where she was told this event was exclusively for “Muslims Only,” which is religious discrimination and exclusivity. The event was touted and promoted as “vision of love, compassion, and caring environment for all.” Speakers in the convention included Linda Sarsour, Siraj Wahhaj and many other Pro-Jihadi Speakers, reports states the event allegedly has raised funds for terrorist organizations.

The article also mentioned the “far right” Tapan Ghosh, who was invited to speak in the UK Parliament. I ask you, what is wrong when people raise their voice in concern? People may have possibly witnessed and experience atrocities on a first-hand level. Brigitte Gabriel, is a prime example, she is a survivor of terrorism or Ayaan Hirsi Ali who had seen the ugly face of radical Islam. However, people sitting in the safety of their home and offices, will unfairly judge them, based on knowledge gained solely from watching the News, reading articles and baseless social media reports. In my opinion, it is better to be informed conservative, than a blindly obedient liberal, led by the nose.

Coming back to Tapan Ghosh, who is Hindu activist and fights for Hindu rights. Again, the writer forgets Hindu Nationalist are also human, living in democracy and deserve equal rights of freedom of speech and thought. Where everyone should have their rights to raise their concern and voice when needed. “Like writing an article to demonize people with all the possible negative terminology, without backing up with proof.” There is a difference between people raising their voice by using their rights within a Constitution Government and people like Anjem Choudhary (was convicted of recruiting for ISIS in UK) promoting and batting for sharia and running sharia courts in UK rejecting the constitution. However, when moderate Muslims like Maajid Nawaz, Tarek Fatah, Imam Tawhidi raise their concerns against radical Islamist, even they are framed as Islamophobic. So, should we postulate the liberals who has no connection to Islam knows more about Islam, than Islamic scholars?

Article also states, the “Babari Masjid” was illegally demolished in Ayodhaya (birth place of Lord Ram). The writers detracted the factuality, ignored the entire history of the issue. The Babri “Masjid” (Mosque) was a controversial structure built by Babur, who was a barbaric, atrocious Islamic invaders from Afghanistan. Babur destroyed the holy and historic temple at Lord Ram’s birth place, where he then built a Mosque.Ayodhaya, the birth place of Lord Ram, is as sacred to Hindu, as the Vatican is to Christians, Jerusalem is to Jewish and Mecca is to Muslims. The Babari Structure stood for hundreds of years.

Imagine, if an Islamic invader had destroyed a Holy Place like the Vatican and when Christians want to re-gain the control after hundreds of year, they still have to wait for over 25 years for a decision from the court, that remains in a pending status. This is even after the archaeological team designated by the court which included Muslim members, accessed the site. The team concluded that, the Hindu temple existed before the “mosque” and the “mosque” was built after demolishing Hindu temple. Similarly, there are over 3000 Hindu temples destroyed by Islamic invaders (Moguls). Their barbaric acts were not only limited to destruction of temples it also involves looting the temples, atrocities on Hindus, massacre, forceful conversions of Hindus which they had proudly recorded as achievements in Mogul’s own documents.

Unfortunately, the Hindu Holocaust, the biggest Holocaust in human history is never talked about, where the victim count is about 80 Million over period of time. However, Hindus are still waiting for justice from the courts, allowing them to re-build a temple in one of their most sacred places. To properly venerate, Lord Ram’s idol to a structure allowing more respect than the raggedy shanty where the Hindu Lord is currently residing.

In recent, history, several Hindu temples were destroyed in Kashmir, India and Kashmiri Pandits (Hindu Priest community from Kashmir) were dragged out of their houses, robbed, raped and massacred by extremist Islamist, in a country where the Hindus are about 80% of majority, yet no one was able to stop the massacre. This was not during the Mogul Era but took pace in recent times, in 1990. Today, out of 350,000 Pandits, there are only 2,764 Hindus left there, according to a BBC News report in 2016. During this time, there were several Hindu temples destroyed as well. But people conveniently dodge historical facts and, atrocities on Hindus in the Hindu Majority Country. They make specious argument, drawing false narrative, which portrays Hindus as Islamophobic and India as unsafe for minorities.

The height of fear mongering reached its pinnacle, when the article compared people dressed as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita in Ayodhaya during Diwali, to White Supremacist Rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Fictitiously conclusion, that the auspicious religious event’s only purpose was to “intimidate Muslims.” Another point made without concrete reasoning, equating a celebration of Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhaya from 14 years of exile with White Supremacist hate rally. Since, when has celebrating one’s festival became a form of intimation towards Muslims? This is simply trying to incite Muslims and sowing seed of hatred against Hindus.

The writer reaches to a new height of fiction, by stating, “Hindu Nationalist rejects the constitution and secularism, inspired by European Fascism.” PM Modi, who is also disparage for being a Hindu-Nationalist had always talked about “sabka saath sabka vikas” which means, in support of everyone, development for everyone. If Hindus Nationalist were truly against the constitution, they wouldn’t had waited patiently for 25 years for the court’s decision, in order to re-build Ram Temple.

Touching further on the topic of Indian inequality against Hindus, did you know only Hindu Temples are controlled by the government, while all other religious institutions are self‑govern? On this issue as well, the supposed “Hindu Nationalist who reject the constitution” decided to opt for legal recourse. A petition has been filed in the court, seeking an equable solution for this issue, that would be fair and just for all. Imagine if all the Christian Churches in America were controlled by the government, and the government decided how and where to use their donations money, dictating rules and regulations for in the Churches. Whereas, all other religious institutions like Hindu Temple, Mosques, Sikh Temple, Synagogues are self-controlled? During a podcast Jeremy “The Professor”, one of the known YouTubers told me “all the various Christian sects will unite and revolt against the government’s decision and possibly engage in a civil war like situation in America.”

The writer directs our attention to when Prime Minister Modi took office in 2014, and a supposed increase on attacks on minorities and backward caste. Modi is framed, as a quintessential Hindu-Nationalist who is anti-Muslims, anti-Christian and anti‑Backward caste. She compares the rise of hate crimes in the US, after President Donald Trump took office in 2016, to “Hindutatva.” It is an ideology that sought to define Indian Culture, in terms of Hindu values for all the inhabitants of the Indus Valley, irrespective of their religious practices. Conveniently forgetting, Narendra Modi comes from a backward community himself. She completely ignores the fact that several Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP political party which Modi belongs to) workers who are tried to be framed as right wing Hindu Nationalist and anti-Muslim, leaders from these organizations have been hacked to death in various India States. Probably unknown of the fact, RSS has its own Muslim wing (Muslim Rashtriya Manch) which consist of thousands of proud Indian Muslims and BJP have many prominent Muslim leaders in the party.

The attacks on “Hindu Nationalists” has sky rocked in past few years. This year, several RSS and BJP workers were murdered. In the state of West Bengal within three days of this first incident, another two BJP workers were killed. Then, another BJP worker was murdered, and his colleague was injured in West Bengal. Allegedly, all these people were killed by a pro-Muslim, anti-Hindu Party, the All India Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) workers. This past November, another BJP Worker Samrath Kumawat, was shot and his neck violently slashed with sword in Rajasthan. Similarly, RSS worker have been mercilessly killed in Kannur, Kerala. Another RSS worker, a 23-year old Ananandan was hacked to death in Guruvayur, Kerala. These are just few examples of recent incidents. There are dozens of Hindus attacked and murdered, based on religious hatred, within the last five years in India.

Now, we come to the Indian Liberals favorite topic of lynchings, based on allegedly carrying or eating beef. As per the article these lynchings supposedly “started” in 2014. I would highly recommend people to do some research, before making baseless allegation and distorted statements. The fact is these incidents have been strategically marketed by the highly politically influenced media. These are unfortunate incidents, you should take notice that people from both sides have died. The India Media have practiced selective journalism, never covers the incidents where Hindus are lynched by Muslim mobs.

You can almost get the impression that the certain India Media houses no longer report the news but push the agenda of others for a price. I will refute the writer’s statement that “since Hindu nationalist government took charge minorities had been lynched,” concentrate on the time period of the last four and a half years. In reviewing the facts, there have been 44 lynching instances been reported majority from rural parts of India, out of which 13 were related communal issues. If you examine the 13 instances, 6 went either not reported or under reported. Any guesses why? Those 6 people were Hindus, including 2 sadhus (Hindu Monks) who were lynched by Muslim mobs for trying to rescue cows just before Bakri-Eid (Muslim festival where they sacrifice animals). Every year, there are several Border Safety Forces, who are executed by Cow Smugglers. Unsurprisingly, no one addresses this issue nor raises their voices in concern.

By no means, I am not supporting any type of lynching or violence. I am simply trying to shine a light on the real issue, which people may not be aware because of selective reporting. Unfortunately, the anti-Hindu bias media and their acolytes, spreading their falsehoods, all over the world using their disputable theories and knowledge to misinform the public.

Every year, there are approximately, 3-4 million cows illegally smuggled to Bangladesh from India’s Eastern Borders. Each cow costing on an average $400-$500 USD, making cow smuggling a very lucrative $1.6 billion business. Many of the cows are stolen from poor villagers, whose livelihood depends on their family cow, and go thought hardship and efforts to afford that cow. One day, that precious cow gets stolen by Cow Smugglers. Now, the poor villager has lost an income stream and way of feed their family, on top of that they are in debt to the leaders who gave them the money to purchase the cow. Imagine, one day someone comes in and decide to decimate everything what you have created, leaving your family to starve. What would you do? For readers in the Western World, it might be comparatively easier to seek government assistance and take legal action. Unfortunately, it is not the same situation in rural India, where the legal system moves at a glacial pace. In the majority of these instances, when people (including the people from entire village) tried to take justice in their own hands, these occasions are reported as “communal lynchings.”

After reading the article further, I fail to understand where the writer gets her thoughts, trying to relate unrelated issues by stating, “after the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting, people raised their concerns against raising Islamophobia and antisemitism” but not against Hindus based on “documented” suffering of minorities in India. There is no connection between the Pittsburgh incident, Islamophobia and Hindus Nationalist. Do you know, India is the only country where Jews were never persecuted? I understand the provocative intention in comparing Hindus Nationalist with Islamophobic, but the argument lacks both merit and logic.

Probably, people who fail to see the ground reality in India, should not try to malign India by stating “idea of India as Hindu Nation is accepted by majority of liberals.” In a country, where the majority is struggling to get their basic religious liberties, who face interfered by the liberals. Previously, mention examples in my article, are just the tip of the iceberg. Hindu festivals like Ganesha Festival and Navaratri, which last an average of ten days in a year, faces restriction based on noise pollution. The restrictions are applauded and championed by liberals. Recently, a predominant singer Sonu Nigam was trolled and attacked by same liberals, when he raised his voice against the use of speakers by Mosques (who is now almost without a job, for raising his concerns). This noise pollution, goes all around the year and starting as early as 5 AM.

Apparently, the writer of the Al Jareeza’s article, has issues with the fact that the India’s Constitution, which defines the state as “secular,” is being ignored. On this point, I agree with her 100%. I would like to postulate, that India is not a secular country but a minority oligarchy. In a country where, the minorities, especially Muslims, get the freedom of worship, Hindus are stopped form performing their own rituals. According to Former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, “Muslims must have first claim on resources in India.” An excellent example of this ideal, is when people going to Haj (Islamic religious pilgrimage) were provided subsidy by the government from taxpayers’ money. Yet, no assistance is ever offered to Hindus, Sikhs, Christian, Jews or other religious pilgrimage. A country where Hindus are restricted and dictated when and how to practice their religious activities and festivals, but Muslims gets a free hand even when they block major streets to offer Namaz (prayers) creating hours long of traffic jams and are provided by police security to ensure no interference. A country where a Muslim men can have multiple wives based on “Islam”and in same situation Hindu will be put in jail based on polygamy laws. I will like to rectify my statement and reclassify India as an Islamic oligarchy.

Since 2014, if we are to believe the article, Hinduphobic, are baffled around the world, by the rise of Hindu intolerant. I would like to clarify this by saying, in the past few years Hindus started to raise their voice against oppression on a wider platform. People are not used to Hindus raising their voice and demanding their rights, as this is a relatively new phoneme. After 1000 years of oppression, it maybe bewildered to some, for Hindus to seek their equal rights, because apparently, they do not deserve any rights.

The article also, racially profiling vegans as “White Vegans,” who supposedly rejoice when they learned of the news of the “Beef Ban” in several states in India. This is the most stereotyped terminology I had ever heard from any responsible writer (if the write is responsible). Not all vegans in the West are White, or probably there would be a parallel world where only white vegans were happy by beef ban and black and brown vegans were upset. The level of hate and typecasting is overwhelming and astonishing. Many vegans or vegetarians give up meat due to health concerns or are against cruelty towards “ALL” animal.

Making a comment on PETA, the article accuses the organization of playing a role in communal politics. PETA is not a cow rescue organization or a cow shelter, they stand for all animal rights. Why is it a problem, if they are promoting, vegetarianism or veganism to save animals? My genuine suggestion is to please check out some documentaries made by investigative journalist, where they show the atrocities done to animals in slaughter houses. By the way, these journalists are neither Hindu nor are “their supporter” White Supremacist.
Refocusing on the issue of cow smuggling in India, recently I interviewed Ashwin, a lawyer and co-founder of Dakshina Vrindavan (DV) a Cow Shelter in Kerala. They rescue cows and bulls from illegal slaughter houses. Ashwin detailed for me all the abuse the cows experience from the smugglers. During transportation of the cows, smugglers stuff chilies (hot peppers) and tobacco in their eyes, vagina or penis sheath of the cattle. He provided me with pictures and video evidence, which was also telecasted on Asinet News Channel.

The smugglers do such heinous acts for several reasons. The more cows they transported in one trip, the more money they make. Also, if the cow remains standing it is easier to stuff more cows in the truck, thus allowing the truck to be crammed to its highest capacity. Should a cow sit down, other cows may stamp on it, in the case of a dead cow the smuggler will not reap the financial reward for the cow. Keeping the cows irritated and uncomfortable, with peppers and tobacco insertion into their eyes and private parts, ultimately results in the cows going permanently blind. Another tactic used to steal a cow by illegal slaughter houses, is to break the leg of the cows with iron rods. DV has rescued cows found with broken legs and lost vision. Cow robbers do these heinous acts, to prevent the cows from running away and enabling them to easily place it in a truck and transport it, to the slaughter house.
Historically, White Supremacist have committed atrocities and heinous crimes on non‑whites, be them Jews or Black or any other “un‑pure” non‑white. While, Hindus are forced to battle for their equal rights, and are being killed just for raising their voice.

The same liberal, who are so-called messiahs of freedom of speech, are nowhere to be found when the civil liberties are being suppressed for Hindus. Even in a predominately Hindu Country, like India, where minority appeasement politics has crossed all its limits and Hindus are being slaughter, just like the cows.
Finally, the writer also has a problem with “Yoga Moms” in US and vegan activist in Europe. The holistic and healthy practices, that originate in India are not a nasty evil plague, spreading and infecting the Western World. It is foolish and ignorant to view them in this negative manner. Yoga is not limited to just the US and veganism to just Europe. The world has embraced these practices based on the positive effects in their lives and not based on religious affiliation.

The writers issue a call to action, urging, people from all around the world including Liberal Hindus and non-Hindus, to join a fight against Hindu Nationalist. This is irresponsible, and place hundreds of thousands of Hindus, at risk in Western Countries. The writer fails to acknowledge the lack of awareness in the West, regarding India Culture and Hinduism, the third largest religion in the world. During the aftermath of Islamic Terrorism against the US, Sikhs were mistakenly seen as Arabs and killed. Several other Hindus, viewed as easy target, experience hate crimes in the United Kingdom. In my personal experience, where I was attacked by “Junkie” gangs in Scotland, who charged at me wielding beer bottles and raising slogans of, “Paki Terrorist go back.”
There have been additional attacks reported, in Western Countries against Indians, with some because of mistaken identity, against anti‑Indian and anti‑Hindu. With incidents, ranging from “Doorbusters” Gang in New Jersey, who attacked Hindu Women by identifying them by the “dot” on their forehead, to the murder of a Young Indian Professional in Kansas Bar.

The attacks are not only limited to one country, but take place all over the world, from UK to Australia, Canada and Europe. As previously mentioned, true awareness and knowledge about Hindus and India, is lacking, in the West World. Therefore, provocative statements are dangerous. This misguided attempt, urging people to join the fight against Hindu Nationalist, is endangering hundreds of thousands of Hindu and Indian, placing their lives at risk, in the Western Countries.

Wholesale damage is being done, when media house like Al Jazeera publish hate mongering article in their “opinion” column. Potentiality serving, as future inspiration for racial attacks on Hindus in Western Countries, along with other venom filled articles of the same ilk. Although the article, did not directly call for violence, it did spread hatred against Hindus, with its fictional correlation theory between White Supremacist and Hindu Nationalist. The sole potential motive, behind this careful crafted fiction, would be to malign Hinduism with a demonizing concept. By relating a proud ancient religion, to some imaginary theory postulating a “relationship” between Hinduism and White Supremacist.

The writer piecemealed tenuous connections to inform and create her baseless theory. Her theory is a perfect example of Hinduphobia, and she appears to be a product of Hinduphobic Academia, which Indic Scholar and writer, Rajiv Malhtora explain in depth in his book “Academic Hinduphobia.” The war against India and Hinduism, today is simply a matter of casting disturbing allegations, with little to no proof required. By the time the allegations are disproved, the damage is already done. In a majority of the time, the perpetrators are of Hindus and Indian Origin. Propaganda is never about proving the truth but sowing the seeds of doubt. Xenophobic who fear Indian’s cultural and religious influences, Self‑flagellating Indians and Hinduphobics, have mastered this art.

“Aaj ki Sweetu, Kal ki MeToo”: The dream of a men’s commission at ADHM

0

We are in the second year of MeToo and it feels like a never-ending giant wheel ride, which gets speedier with every emerging story, gaining more momentum and turning more dangerous like someone would go flying off the wheel at any moment in the future. And according to popular belief, the wheel is run only by one section of the society a.k.a women.

With the rise of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements in recent years and the evolving #MeTooIndia movement, there is an alternative rising, and maybe at an even stronger momentum. The #Shetoo movement in India, which is discretely underlined with misogyny more than anything else. Men are coming forward in hundreds & thousands to condemn the movement and more shockingly, to demand their own commission protecting men’s rights.

My own account of MeToo last year. Notice how I wrote children, instead of females, girls or women.

Before I get into those details, let me start by saying that, the #MeToo movement was never about gender.

In the beginning, it was only about people coming forward, sharing individual stories of abuse. Although started with females at the forefront, there were multiple stories and accounts we saw that involved men coming out and sharing their experiences, some of whom still continue to share their stories.

A Professional Hazard

Although it was a professional hazard, I found myself seeing through my first marathon ever. Running for a cause was great motivation in itself. As a charity partner for the event, I and my colleagues reigned to gather all our supporters and volunteers to come out and run the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon to enable quality education of underprivileged children as part of the E and H Foundation. It was a two-month long struggle to mobilize these people and raise supporters for such a grave crisis.

I’ve learnt quite a bit in my crowdfunding, development sector experience in the last four months. Events are a great way to network and raise awareness for your cause. And yes, we did gather around 50 supporters to come out on a smoggy, warm Sunday morning. It feels great when people come together, physically, to support a cause. In our case, it gave everyone a much-needed purpose to rage on the laziest day of the week.

Aghast, everyone at ADHM was not even half as successful as this one particular group of people. It consisted mostly of men and a handful of two or three women advocating majorly for Men’s Rights. There were almost close to a group of 100 people associated with the cause and practically, could be spotted through the race track.

I was quite intrigued, impressed and at the same time, extremely repulsed with this group.

Although, I must admit, It was a great strategy to pick the Great Delhi Run, a race category with the maximum crowd to reiterate the issues of Men’s Right in the growing world of me too and insecure gender politics.

The Power of Anti-Heroes and Shocking Symbols

Symbols, they play a great role in stimulating political emotions to a great extent. With blown up banners and posters of Donald Trump and Nana Patekar, the group made their way to the running arena. On encountering people idolizing Donald Trump and Nana Patekar, I must admit I felt my own self-being triggered.

In almost a reflex, I stopped a man and asked him, “So, you support Trump?”.

“Yes”, he replied.

“So, you think he will change the world?”

“Yes, I do”, with conviction he replied. Almost as if he was trained in that response. Maybe they even have posters of the POTUS in their office. Not sure. But he IS their role model.

At this point, I was blown away. I was wondering if these people wanted their rights or their power back? Advocating for a men’s commission while carrying a wounded 6 ft figure of a man almost murdered with arrows

Gender equality is what we need and not (female) gender superiority

Carrying a crucified styled idol of a man while demanding for ‘PurushAayog’ is a contradiction in itself.

Men demanding a men’s commission at ADHM

The Vicious Cycle of Gender Wars

The fact that this particular group of people gained such high levels of traction and coverage during the event, highlights a Hobbesian approach to all humans beings.

Thomas Hobbes believed that the natural condition of mankind is that of warfare. Like Newton’s Final law, of every action having an equal and opposite reaction. This gender opposition never seems to end though. Organizations such as Save India Foundation, who advocate for men’s rights and a men’s commision mainly working on cases of male suicides and fake dowry.

This was hard to fathom from their anti-metoo and anti-feminist rally at the marathon as SIF was seen holding anti-metoo posters and shouting “Aaj ki Sweetu, Kal Ki MeToo”

At ADHM, these were people who believe ‘feminism leads to retardation’ (See tweet below)

Such bias which sees women as victims and men as oppressors and vice versa is often met with anger, rage and hatred towards the other gender. These were people who believed #MeToo was a case of cyber lynching and nothing else. And although, by now we all understand the difference between coming out (anonymously) and releasing an actual statement. In retrospect, the movement has sparked a lot of hate and support at the same time. We are now also witnessing anti-meToo rallys in India

Forget the Status Quo, Man!

People are threatened with developments that favours the ‘others’, whether it is women coming out and speaking up against harassers, abusers or rapists after literally decades or India recognizing the rights of LGBT, minority groups are gaining recognition in the 21st century.

And as these groups gain visibility, voice and rights, the fabric of power politics is threatened. Especially of a matriarchal society.

We are now breaking the status quo for people who have abused their power for years and years. There is actually no space or tolerance anymore for men who have abused and assaulted women or who got away with their horrendous acts in the name of “Indian culture”. Or women who have done the same. Let’s understand the difference between rights and gender bashing and in my opinion, support more universal causes like climate change, which affects all genders.

Aristotle said that man is either a political animal (the natural state) or an outcast like a “bird which flies alone”. As outcasted birds realise they aren’t alone, it’s hard for some animals to not want to break their newly acquired wings.

An analysis of BJP’s Defeat in three State Elections

0

BJP’s defeat in three state election has definitely come as a shock for the BJP supporters. In absence of any actual raw data for defeat from the ground of three state, BJP supporters are speculating reasons of defeat on their own.

Out of these speculations few major points are emerging.

Lack of counter narrative from BJP:

Congress has waged a war through misinformation since Modi government has come at center. Church Attack, OROP protest by retired Army personal, Media person’s march, Award Waapsi, Kisaan Andolan, Patel agitation, Gurjer Andolan, Jaat Andolan, Yogi said Hanuman is Dalit, Modi wants to snoop your computer etc all are part of this sustained war by the Congress.

Irony is that none of them were genuine or spontaneous. All of them were manufactured and this gave BJP enough ammunition to widely expose them. BJP failed to do so. It could have exposed each and everyone of these manufactured events vehemently to continue the undercurrent that Congress is a very rogue and unethical party which was already established prior to 2014 Lok Sabha election.

These exposes then should have been utilized during the election campaign of various state in audio video format to keep voter vary of congress party.

Instead of doing this we got one or two statement from BJP spokesperson or chief minister of concerned state that the said Andolan is a congress conspiracy. BJP also failed to back its conspiracy statement by effective prosecution of culprits of these violent agitations.

If BJP is thinking that these lies  and conspiracies of congress do not have ground effect, they are wrong. In last one month I have heard at least 20 upper cast people using extremely derogatory language against UP CM YogiAdityanath because they believe that Yogi said Hanuman is Dalit.

BJP will have to pay high price in 2019 election if they do not evolve a strategy to countering a congress lie the very minute it rises. Making truth instantly available to everyone via whatsapp & other social media messages in audio visual format is the only way which will work to defeat these lies.

(For this I have talked about need of a online repository in my third point: “Lacuna’s in BJP’s Social Media strategy’ )

BJP has failed to expose the proxies of Congress:

Be it sold media persons, ex RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, Prominent Intellectual, Eminent Historian, NGO and legal aid societies working at the behest of congress, BJP has failed to expose and discredit them widely.

Congress has used its advocate to oppose many nationalistic and Dharmic cause including Ram Mandir in court. It has used ilks like Prashant Bhushan in Rafael Deal and SC ST atrocity Act to trap Modi Government.

This failure has resulted in three causalities.

Statement by these intellectuals are still being used in Facebook and WhatsApp forward to doubt Modi’s policies and initiatives and gullible public is often falling for it.

Cracker ban and SC ST Atrocity Act trap is making upper cast to believe that Modi is unable to safeguard the interest of Hindu upper cast.

While congress can safely use its proxies and still fake its non-involvement in all such matters, BJP does not have its proxies to expose congress proxies.

It is understandable that it is difficult for BJP to say that congress is using its advocate Kapil Sibal to oppose Ram Mandir or using Prashant Bhushan to harm SC & ST interest in SC ST Atrocity Act. It can easily be done by BJP by having it’s own proxies.

Imagine the scenario if a rally was organized and a sustained noise, continued Dharna Pradarshan was made against the congress president Rahul Gandhi on the very second day when case related to SC ST Act or Rafael Deal or cracker ban was filed by Prashant Bhushan etc saying that congress is trying to punish the Dalit (in SC ST act) or upper cast (Cracker Ban) by its advocate because Rahul Gandhi feels ‘how dare they have not voted for them in 2014 election’.

Then audio visuals of this Darna Pradarshan could have been utilized during the election campaign of various state in audio video format to keep upper and Dalit voter vary of congress party.

Such proxies from BJP would have brought BJP on equal footing with congress in all proxy wars like cracker ban and Rafael deal.

Nevertheless, party still can spread this message via its whatsapp group that those who filed PIL to dilute SC ST prevention of atrocity act, work for congress party all the time.

This can also be done in disguise of running a documentary by proxy on Indira Jai Singh or Prashant Bhushan or Kapil Sibal on a news channel. In that story/documentary it can be shown that these advocates are related to congress party & they often file PIL to oppose Ram Mandir, support Afzal guru or dilute SC Sct prevention of Atrocity act at the behest of congress party. After airing of this documentary a dharna pradarshan by proxy can be done against Rahul Gandhi for trying to dilute SC St Atrocity Act by advocates on his pay roll.

Lacuna’s in Bjp’s Social Media strategy:

Party is not giving enough opportunity to BJP Influencers on various social media (Like Facebook or Twitter) to disseminate their daily effort through BJP’s election whatsapp group. So these influencers effort to mark and counter the anti Modi narrative or false propaganda is being limited to their followers only.

Multifarious arguments by BJP influencers and followers to unsettle a congress propaganda are thus not reaching to a wider audience. It is also not clear whether party is collecting these arguments by various BJP influencers and taking it to wider audience or not through its whatsapp and other channel. They are not doing it in TV debates or press media, that much is clear.

At the opposite end my whatsapp number was added in two anti Modi WhatsApp group. For few months I tried to counter their propaganda but it was exhausting. In the time I replied to their two propaganda they used to post 20 propaganda rich with audio visual format.

There is no repository by BJP IT cell where one can go and get counter arguments rich with audio visual format to answer these bombardments of propaganda which was the case in my whatsapp number.

BJP IT Cell should make such repository and should make it accessible to everyone. It will do two things. A glance at repository will tell everyone whether BJP IT cell picking up good and great argument of BJP influencers on various social media and enriching them in audio visual format or not. A glance at such repository will also show what are BJP IT cell effort in countering various Propaganda. A counter in such repository website can also show how much an argument is being shared to gauze the reach of any argument. Everybody should have option to refer an argument of a BJP influencer to repository if it is being missed by such repository.

Such repository website should be searchable and memes, videos, pictures, screenshot or article links from Opindia, My nation, Swarajya, etc in it should be easily sharable to various social media platforms & specially to whatsapp and Facebook.

A common thread of Nationalism & Hindu unity should run through, be sprinkled upon all media strategy be it TV debate, print media or social media messages:

Hindu vote bank is a difficult lot. They are not only divided in castes, they are also divided on electoral issues.

Both divisions are being greatly used by congress & its proxies. Manufactured Patel agitation in Gujarat, Jaat Andolan In Haryana, Gurjar Andolan In Rajasthan and PIL through their proxies on SC ST atrocity act and False news like Yogi said Hanumaan is dalit or Modi Said Gau Rakshak are Gundas all are part of a plan to divide Hindus in upper caste, Dalit, Vaisya, Patel, Jaat, Gurjar, Maratha etc.

Mayawati used Dalit vote to rule, Mulayam used Yadav OBC and Muslim vote to rule for so long.

Hindu is also divided on election issues. Some want Mandir, some want Vikas, some want doles to win election, some are totally opposed to it. Some want RTE repealed, some want Tax exemption, some want government job which seems totally scarce in BJP government and some are just jealous because someone among Hindus is doing so much.

If Modi does Vikas, Mandir Walas get agitated and decide not to vote, If Modi takes a stand in SC ST atrocities Act judgement to keep Dalit vote in Hindu vote, upper caste gets agitated and decides not to vote.

In such scenario what could be election campaign strategy. Answer is a common thread of nationalism and Hindu unity should run through, be sprinkled upon all media strategy be it TV debate, print media or social media messages. No matter what whatsapp messages of Vikas data BJP IT media cell uses for campaign these messages should have underlying theme of Nationalism & Hindu Unity. In chain of forwarded messages to any voter by BJP IT cell, its every second message should be on nationalism and Hindu unity.

There are so much data relating to Nationalism and Hindu unity in audio visual format from Kerala, west Bangal, Tamilnadu, and many instances like Navjot Singh Sidhu picture with Khalistani terrorist, P. Chidambaram Photo with Hafeez Saeed, Rahul Gandhi secret meeting with Chinese during Doklam border dispute, etc. All such pictures, videos, article since the inception of congress in 1885 and of other parties after 1947 should be curated, weighed and transformed into audio visual whatsapp messages to be inserted in between every second message of development work done by Modi.

In villages where these messages can not be sent to voter by Social Media like Facebook or whatsapp there should be some arrangement to show these audio visual messages on screen just prior to an election.

Overhauling BJP’s Central & State Party Unit by transforming them into professional, corporate like Branches:

It is amazing that Modi had made even government official known to not work to work and deliver on his dream projects like Ujjawala yojna or electicity to all but failed to restructure central and state party units. Losing state assemblies because of incumbency against your MLA shows that there were no measures taken to make sure that member of Parliament and Legislature is doing work in their constituencies. If PM tried to make sure that government officials do their job by trying to introduce biometric attendance & pet project were being monitored by use of technology, why it failed to do so in case of its own MLA and MP.

Infighting, Internal sabotage, Rebel MP, MLA, incumbency and anger against inaccessible local MLA are still the part of BJP’s defeat in state assembly election. BJP State unit still need outsider as star pracharak to sway the voters, they do not have their own MLA’s as star pracharak in the election.

Strategy of denying ticket to non-performing MLA at the time of election is not a good solution. It often paves way for infighting, internal sabotage, rebel MP, MLAs and also fails to address the incumbency which public were feeling because of these absent, inaccessible non-performing MLA’s.

BJP has to bring corporate culture in party organization complete with human resource development, continual assessment and internal audit etc. In last four year there have been very less effort in this direction.

Though now is not the time to do it, but it should be the top priority if BJP wants to turn in a professional winning machine.

Read this if you think ‘all political parties are same’

0

I write this after watching the several videos where the gen Y & Z fumble to answer some very simple questions (president of India, ‘President’ of MP etc) about the current political chapter of India. As the saying goes ‘Hope for the best, be prepared for the worse’, with this I’m making an assumption that the majority youth today is unaware of the current political scenario and of the history which saw many brave sons of the soil fight, bleed and die for the sake of future, to protect their motherland – to make India a better place for their kids’ and grand kids’ generations. While the textbooks we studied may have forgotten our brave ancestors, their sacrifices and glorified outsiders; its a shame that these heroes who should be the icons depicting unity of our nation are ever so easily forgotten and the wrong-doers forgiven. The heroes without whom we wouldn’t have the luxury of celebrating Independence day and many other festivals of our culture.

A lot of people (mostly millennials and youngsters in my close circles) think BJP Congress and every other party are the same.

I’m from Karnataka, we have 3 major political parties BJP, Congress and a regional party JDS. The common thing I hear from friends and family before elections is “All are same ya” or in Kannada “ Ellru kaLlare”(everyone is a thief). “It wont matter who we vote they are all going to eat away our hard earned money”.

What the millennials do not know is that most BJP leaders are from RSS. RSS is an organisation which teaches so much about patriotism and brotherhood and imbibes love for Bharat. So much that the Swayamsevaks arrive immediately where ever relief is needed be it during Tsunami, floods or earthquake.

My grandfather was in RSS, he used to tell us many stories of our freedom fighters – those lesser known freedom fighters who did not get a passing mention in our textbooks or during the I-day or R-day celebrations at School functions or their struggles to stay afloat during the Emergency.

Namaste Sada Vatsale is a melodious prayer song that has all the right words to form a deep patriotic bond to the motherland. If we keep listening to the same set of values over the years they become a part of you- It is this soft conditioning that makes a person feel attached to the motherland. The Shakha ends with the recitation of Namaste Sada Vatsale. Joining RSS and attending the Shakha is an effort in itself. You need to get up early, get ready and spend an hour of your time and get back to your routine after that. How many us would give up an hour of sleep to attend a Shakha? Not many of us would volunteer to do this, right?

When there are already well trained, disciplined and patriotic individuals why choose someone else? They already standout in their qualifications and love for the motherland tops it all.

This message is very much needed to reach youth. (Not saying that there is absolutely no corruption in RSS/BJP. There might be bad apples everywhere and that is kept under check with a leader like Modi Ji /Amit Shah Ji. But its always important to choose the lesser evil among the demons since you consider all of them to be the same.

On the other hand Congress party cadres learn about the greatness of the the Gandhi-Nehru family without acknowledging much the lakhs of other freedom fighter and patriots. The congress party and its cadres are more about empowering one family(their confidants) and the rest of us should live on the crumbs they feed. The point to note is Akshai Chin was given away to China by Nehru, border disputes with China on Arunachal Pradesh, J&K special status, and most recently the cong govt wanted to give away Siachen, Infiltration from Bangladesh for Vote bank are all some of the doings of the congress.

Would you be willing to give away a piece of your home to your neighbours? Would you wish there was someone beside you who would fight tooth and nail to help settle what is rightfully yours? When this is taken in context of India, that ‘someone’ needs to be protective and patriotic of this piece of land we call India.

Same with JDS (or other regional parties of a state), it is all about Gowda family (Kumaranna Revanna Nikhilanna Prajwalanna) and getting sentimental about the Raitas (farmers) only to gain votes. This is again very short sighted and since our nation believes in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ you cannot just empower only the farmers through loan waivers sustainability needs to be brought in the agriculture.

So for now Modi Ji’s ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is the only place where can see the much needed light at the end of the tunnel.

Brahmin DNA, Italian DNA, ‘Indian Hitler’ DNA what more the dynast has?

0

The way the dynast is abusing Narendra Modi, the most upright, honest and very decisive Prime Minister of India must be condemned by the electorates in 2019. The dynast is further accusing him as an autocrat, invading the freedom of institutions etc. without least shame for carrying the DNA of the Hitler who butchered democracy, curbed the freedom of speech, invaded the independence of judiciary and jailed every voice of decent.

Memory of India about the atrocities of Indira Gandhi during emergency is quite vivid. When Rajnarayanan filed a case against Indira Gandhi in Allahabad court for corruption and misuse of power during election, everybody thought the fight of Rajnarayanan would settle like a little storm in tea cup. But the case was taken up by Mr. Shanthi Bushan and argued and exposed the lies of Indira Gandhi in the court of law and made Indira Gandhi to admit her lies. Subsequently the Allahabad court passed a judgment disqualifying the election of Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India and barred her from holding any public position for 6 years. The shell shocked Indira Gandhi then engaged Nani Palkiwala to argue her case and stayed the judgment on the ground of pending appeal.

Mr. VR Krishna Iyer, the then Supreme Court Judge granted conditional stay to the Allahabad judgment. In a bizarre fashion the cabinet of Indira Gandhi passed amendments and G.O in Parliament stating that the sitting Prime Minister cannot be disqualified ironically with retrospective effect. Further the amendments were also made accordingly that the sitting Prime Minister can use the service of state bureaucracy which is not unlawful. Once again the above enactment was made with retrospective effect. After passing all necessary enactments in Parliament, the grandmother of the dynast clamped emergency and hunted down all opposition leaders, jailed them, cut down the freedom of press and finally the judge who appeared to have favoured her was made as chief justice of India irrespective of his juniority.

The fragile opposition although defeated Indira Gandhi in the next election but the life of the fragile opposition did not last long and again Indira Gandhi came back to power. Today the dynast who claims to be carrying the DNA of Brahmin is also carrying the DNA of one of the most dreaded Prime Ministers of India and sermons to the world about democracy, institutional independence, freedom of speech etc. The dynast is trying to derail the agenda of development and sab ka vikas initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Narendra Modi questions the institutions to remind them of their accountability and responsibility to our nation. He as a decisive Prime Minister demands performance and results from several departments which were left loose to wallow and sun bath at the expense of tax payers’ money.

Indira Gandhi invaded our constitution, freedom of speech, blacked out institutions and did not even spare judiciary but the grandson of Indian Hitler is preaching the principles of democracy.

Democracy and individual freedom never exist in family establishment called congress party.  Slavery, sycophancy and sheep mentality alone is encouraged and cultivated in the party.  The prince who is moulded in the same dye is today talking about democracy, freedom of speech etc., and abusing PM Modi.

People of India are wise and they will certainly recognise the importance of development and sab ka vikas as well as how safe is India under the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indians will not let corruption and nepotism to corrode India and the culture of dynasty to ruin our country.

The DNA of dynasty, the DNA of Hitler, DNA of corruption and nepotism, DNA of sycophancy and the DNA that thinks it alone is born to rule India will destroy our country if Indians fail to support the agenda of development and sab ka vika initiatives of PM Modi.

The tyranny of Hitler rule people of India should read from history book before they vote in 2019.  Narendra Modi must be re-elected if we want to save India and democracy and on the contrary if dynast is re-elected, slavery and sycophancy alone will flourish. Hope Indians will show wisdom and weigh national interest over personal preferences.

Congress is ready to loot nation and kill devotees

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh: An ideology that holds a nation

0

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has always been a soft target for opposition. When left doesn’t get any legit opportunity to criticize BJP government; it usually targets RSS. Baseless accusations and allegations are becoming daily news headlines. Fascist, terrorist, Muslim Brotherhood, are the most preferable tags to pounce on this organization.

But if we dig deeper, only then we would understand that these types of filthy remarks are just a part of political agenda that nowhere matches with RSS ideologies. Being an independent organization, RSS is an integrated part of Indian spirit and values which are based on the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. It has always been focused on self-discipline, self-respect, self-protection, social reform, social awareness and selfless service which ultimately correlates with the supremacy of this Nation.

History is witnessing that RSS has engaged many iconic figures of Indian Politics from left and right both wings. Here are few examples of the most prominent leader of Congress Party such as Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, J.P. Narayan, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sardar Patel, H. D. Deve Gowda (now in alliance with Congress) and most recently Pranab Mukherjee who has admired RSS from time to time.

Our first Prime Minister, Mr. Nehru invited RSS in 1963s’ Republic Day Parade to express his gratefulness towards this organization after Chinese attack on Indian territory. Again in 1965, India was going through a tumultuous time due to an all-out war with its closest neighbor Pakistan. Then Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri invited RSS chief M.S. Golwalkar, also known as Guruji to an All-Party Meet, where he requested RSS workers to help Delhi Police relieving from their routine duties to engage them with more strategic activities.

Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi has also acknowledged the positive values propagated by RSS. Mr. Gandhi  during his visit in 1930s’ in a RSS camp, was very much surprised by seeing the discipline and absence of untouchability. He was quite amused by the environment of people eating and living together without any discrimination under one roof.

Next is Mr. J.P. Narayan, who was once invited to RSS camp in New Delhi. He also got inclined towards this organization by looking at their selfless service and dedication towards the society. Here are few words from his remark on RSS; “….RSS is a revolutionary organization. No other organization in the country comes anywhere near it. It alone has the capacity to transform society, end caste-ism and wipe the tears from the eyes of the poor. Its very name is ‘Rashtriya’, that is national. I am not saying this to flatter you. I believe you have a historic role to play….”.

On January 6,1948, in a speech in Lucknow, Iron Man, Sardar Patel invited RSS to amalgamate with the Congress. He carried on the same invitation to members of the RSS, criticizing Nehru obliquely: “In the Congress, those who are in power feel that by virtue of authority they will be able to crush the RSS. You cannot crush an organization by using the danda [stick]. The danda is meant for thieves and dacoits. They are patriots who love their country. Only their trend of thought is diverted. They are to be won over by Congressmen with love”. After Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, it was Mr. Patel who convinced Nehru regarding RSS. He told Prime Minister that RSS is nowhere responsible for Gandhi’s murder, it was some radical from different organization.

Sardar Patel always wanted the best of RSS. He did reveal his mixed feelings towards RSS once in an interview: “You will recall that there was a time when people called me a supporter of the RSS. To some extent that was true because these young men were brave, resourceful and courageous, but they were a little mad. I wanted to utilize their bravery, power and courage and cure them of their madness by making them realize their true responsibilities and their duty. It is that madness that I want to eradicate”. He also legalized RSS by removing ban on it and considered that RSS must join the Congress to act accordingly. On 10th October,1949 he had passed a resolution through the help of Congress Working Committee authorizing RSS to be a part of Congress Party.

Mr. H. D. Deve Gowda, whose party is now in alliance with Congress in Karnataka and whose arguments towards RSS may have been changed now, was also disposed towards RSS. Mr. Vajpayee claimed that Deve Gowda had attended an event of the RSS in Bengaluru which was organized to protest ‘Emergency’, called as ‘Second Freedom Struggle’. There he made a speech applauding RSS and named it spotless organization. Quoting Gowda from newspaper reports, Mr. Vajpayee said, “The RSS is a spotless organization. In my 40 years long political life, not even once I have criticized the RSS,” and added that Mr. Gowda made this statement with clear accountability.

Recently, Mr. Pranab Kumar Mukherjee who has been a senior leader in the Indian National Congress and has occupied several ministerial portfolios in the Government of India, had accepted invitation of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to attend an event at its headquarters in Nagpur. This acceptance have anguished millions in opposition party and those who believe in pluralism, diversity, tweeted Anand Sharma. Mr. Mukherjee has visited the birth place of the RSS founder, Late Mr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar before his speech at the Sangh headquarters. “Today I came here to pay my regard and reverence to a great son of Mother India,” writes former President Pranab Mukherjee in his message in the visitor’s book at RSS founder KB Hedgewar’s birthplace in Nagpur.

Now everyone must understand that it’s not just only right wing, Congress and other political parties’ leaders have also been inclined toward this organization since inception of RSS, 1925 directly or indirectly. In deep down everyone know that RSS is an organization which is fully committed towards ‘values and nation’. Notion of being a ‘Hindu only’ or ‘Hindutva based’ organization is also a white lie about RSS. In RSS, there is no discrimination based on caste, religion or gender. RSS is an inclusive organization for every religion i.e. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and people from all communities, castes are an integral part of this consortium. RSS has its exclusive branches for its Muslim, Sikh and Christian brothers like Rashtriya Muslim Munch and Rashtriya Sikh Sangat etc. It is an organization which has always been ready to help any community or religion altruistically. Whether there is an earthquake in Nepal or flooding in Bihar and Kerala, RSS has always been there to serve everyone without any discrimination based on color, caste and religion.

In the end, RSS is an organization who has been helping this nation since its commencement. Unfortunately, few political opportunists have been on constant mission of maligning its image to gain political mileage but being a responsible citizen of this country, we need bring out the truth in front of whole nation and credit should be given where it is due.

We must recognize the importance of organization like RSS that may prove quite beneficial in nation building exercise. The era of social media has given us this opportunity where we can bring out the truth and fight against fake news media in the larger interest of our nation. Finally, I would conclude my thoughts on RSS with the words that RSS really stands for i.e.; “Ready for Selfless Service”

Battle is over, but not the war

0

If war used to be a medium to capture the governance in monarchy, elections plays similar role in democratic set up of governance. Therefore, the modern elections are nothing but sort of war in these days. We have witnessed these wars in two largest democracies of this world where Donald Trump “trumped” his opponents to capture power in USA and Narendra Modi “Modified” India in an unprecedented manner riding on the popular wave in their support. Though they won the war of General elections in their own countries, the opponents have kept fighting battles since then. Initially, it was perception front where opponents kept their battles ongoing with the help of friendly media. Off late, the battle front is being expanded to other areas such as polity, bureaucracy, judiciary, and many more.

Indian democracy presents opportunity to have many more battles due to its design. Other than the general elections to capture governance at central level, there are 29 states and 2 union territories which should go to elections every five years. Therefore, political parties and that too national political parties, have to face elections every second month on an average. If the election of “Panchayats” and Muncipal Corporations are also added, political parties are in election mode each day. Opposition, which lost the big war of 2014, has been successful in opening the new battle front even in Universities student union election, of which Delhi University, JNU, and others are prime examples. Each loss has been attributed to rejection of central government and win has been seen as endorsement of the same. With the election results of five state assembly election, all big battles leading to the great war of 2019 has been over. No doubt, the last round is won by opposition led by Congress rejuvenating their cadres and supporters. However, they need to realize that they are on the verge of losing the upcoming great war of 2019, if data has to be believed.

If we closely analyze the data of recently concluded assembly elections, it becomes clear that congress was not able to win the mandate of people handsomely except in Chhattisgarh. Despite anti-incumbency of three successive terms in Madhya Pradesh, BJP garnered greater vote share. In Rajasthan where it was supposed to be one side affair in favor of congress, results were surprisingly close and congress could not even secure a simple majority. Even the difference in vote share is merely 0.4%. Chhattisgarh is only exception where BJP clearly lost with a convincing vote percentage difference of close to 10%. However, it is very important to note that congress lost big time in Telangana and Mizoram which used to be a strong hold not long ago. Defeat in Telangana should be a ring bell as the voters rejected congress and TDP both. If the same happens in the sister state of Andhra Pradesh, congress will be on the verge of losing the upcoming war.

For BJP, the general election is going to be a match being played on their home ground. Their best player is undoubtedly the current PM Mr. Modi who will be asking for mandate on the basis of his own records. His all-rounder ability to spin the ball when required and hit the opposition out of ground on provided occasions are tried and tested. Indian public loves his performance and is happily willing to cheer for him when occasion arrives. His persona can easily enhance the voting percentage in his favor by more than 5% and that will be sufficient enough to win this war. He knows the terrain of the Warfield and should be working to fortify before he leads the attack. Big states in terms of Lok Sabha Seats such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra can still be easily won due to his work as well as his image.
Nonetheless, the war is going to be interesting for so many reasons.

Oppositions will be trying to put a unified front as that gives them a chance to survive. Another loss in this war would lead to end for so many warriors. BJP will have to penetrate this unified front in order to dismantle the war formation. However, they also need to keep intact their ranks and unity if they have to win. Remember that Ravan was invincible if Vibhishan was on his side. They need to throw their Vibhishans at earliest and create Vibhishans in unified opposition ranks. A lot is at stake for everyone in the war filed and the war has just begun.

Congress proves dynasty must prevail yet again, by carefully choosing their political leaders

0

World re-nowned chess player Siegbert Tarrasch once said, “I look one move ahead… the best!”

Like chess, politics is also played by advance moves to checkmate the opposition. That’s the exact strategy Gandhi family has followed since decades to fool its opposition and public both. They know very well how to keep themselves ahead in the game of politics. When everyone started believing that Congress party is doomed, they miraculously saved their face by a marginal victory in recently held assembly elections. They won in Madyha Pradesh and Rajasthan by a little margin, but they are trying to portray it as a huge victory and looking to move ahead in race for 2019.

Let’s analyze their moves one by one to understand this game in details. Their very first move started even before the elections by not declaring any Chief Ministerial candidate to keep all the leaders on toe and united for elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh that ensured them a much-needed victory. Next move was their choices of Chief Ministers in both states (MP & Rajasthan). They picked up their old stalwarts, Mr. Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh and Mr. Gehlot in Rajasthan who has been loyal to Gandhi family and who would not create any competition for their leader, Rahul Gandhi in 2019 general elections. They completely ignored the fact that Kamal Nath’s role in 1984 riots has been controversial and could harm them in Punjab in future.

The whole family, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (Priyanka apparently did not play any significant role in these assembly elections and did not even campaign but actively participated in decision making) sat together and picked up the leader that would suite their narrative most. So, picking up the trusted old leaders who has always been loyal to family and have no or very less visibility on national politics was their default choice. As for Gandhi Family, maintaining their dynasty is superior than any other motive.

Mr. Pilot, who played a very crucial role in Congress victory in Rajasthan couldn’t accomplish the position he was supposed to and same thing happened with Jyotiraditya Scindia in Madhya Pradesh.  It is quite evident that both Sachin Pilot & Jyotiraditya scindia are young dynamic candidates in Congress and hold a potential to be mass leader in future if given an opportunity to perform. Both have been in politics since almost 15 years and have also been member of Lok Sabha for multiple times. But if you look at their portfolio, they have been always rewarded for lesser than they deserved. Similarly, after holding victory in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Congress conveniently snubbed Sachin and Scindia and put them on sidelines again to avoid any possible conflict in future.

To get a better idea about this whole saga, we need to look back in history of Congress party. Late Rajesh Pilot (Sachin’ Father) and Madhavrao Sciendia (Jyotiraditya’s father) died in unfortunate accidents in gap of one year. That was time when Congress as a party was going through leadership crisis and these two eminent figures were making themselves relevant for Prime Minister’s position. Their rise at national scale could have a threat for Gandhi family, who most of time have been at the top of party leadership. Taking the cue from history, Congress obviously do not want any contender against Mr. Gandhi with in party who can threaten his position for 2019 elections either anytime soon in future.

After winning elections in 3 states, next move was played to create a narrative through their media wings that new version of Rahul Gandhi has arrived (RG Version 3.0), matured, immaculate and focused. Since last one week this narrative has been constantly played on various channels to feed in our brains that we have a news leader rising on the horizon. Pappu has suddenly been changed into Parampujya.

Ironically, since decades a major section of media houses have been putting their resources to make a political dynast a legitimate leader of largest democracy in the world. Now to further enhance their own image and to get a taint on their only enemy our current Prime Minister and a leader of substance Mr. Modi, Congress has knitted another narrative with false facts on Rafale. They wanted to use Joint Parliamentary Committe (JPC) probe as a weapon to keep this issue alive till 2019 and project a corrupt image of Modi Government. But the over enthusiasm of people like Arun Shourie, Prashant Bhushan and Jaswant Sinha with other petitioner in Supreme court for the CBI enquiry of this deal punctured their plan. Even after the SC verdict they want a JPC probe to keep alive this agenda as they have no other legitimate issue  to corner Modi Government.

The last and most important move of the game was to make sure that Mr. Rahul Gandhi becomes a default choice for Prime Minister of Mahagathbandhan (even before its inception), an absolute strategy which might help regional parties leader to get restricted to their respective states and ultimately giving Congress the supreme cadre of Prime Minister. For that purpose, they picked up another dynast, MK Stalin who is trying to capture DMK vote base after his father’s demise. Recently, MK Stalin proposed Rahul Gandhi as a Prime Ministerial candidate (very well thought move to put pressure on regional parties) for united opposition during their party event, of course in presence of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. Similarly, Congress Media is also pushing the same agenda projecting through different regional candidates such as Hardik Patel as if it was all scripted in advance.

Unfortunately, many regional parties like SP, RJD also follow the same template of dynasty politics. So, it would not be surprising if they succumb under pressure and make a way for Gandhi Family and live in their shadow forever. However, it would be suicidal for the parties like BSP, TMC & BJD which has strong regional vote base and power to claim for throne in 2019. For BJP, these coming months would be very crucial time and they need to be aware of the dirty politics being played around. Most importantly, regional parties must choose their alliance diligently to avoid falling in line of dynasty politics. After tasting victory in three states Congress is smelling the next opportunity and wants to maximize it in all possible ways. Because all they want is the throne in the name of their dynasty.

Being patriotic, being nationalist

0

On a trip to the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve early this year, I happened to chat up a fellow birdwatcher, a foreigner. He was born in 1988, fair, blonde and wore a black T-shirt emblazoned with two words in bold white – FCUK NAZIS. So I asked him if he was a German and he nodded. When I commented on his apologetic tone, he explained how hyper-nationalism harmed his country resulting in two world wars during the last century, how devotion to one’s country was manipulated by generating a narrative against Jews who had settled in the country and dominated businesses through hard work and enterprise.

Finally, he added that no child born in Germany can ever be named Hitler. I thought about India, and smiled. We have recently seen a Bollywood Muslim actor name his child Taimur. For the uninformed, Taimur is one of the cruelest invaders into India who massacred Indians in millions and laid out pyramids of thousands of skulls in Delhi one fine day; a hero for Pakistanis, a villain for Indians irrespective of religion, not unlike how the Baluch view Changez Khan. A very likely winner candidate for the Mr Hitler contest!

So what does being a proud Indian mean? Where do we draw the line between patriotism and nationalism, at least as long as the world is divided into countries and especially India located between cut-throat neighbours like China, Pakistan and Bangladesh?

An editor of one of the numerous anti-Modi web portals who have come up suddenly since 2014 (or thereabouts) calls a film on India’s cross border strike on Pakistani terrorist camps “toxic nationalism”. Compare that with the countless Hollywood war movies – Zero Dark Thirty, Black Hawk Down, Bridge on River Kwai etc – they would have watched and praised! His genre wake the Supreme Court and the President mid-night to demand a special clemency appeal for Pakistani terrorist Kasab who boated into Mumbai one fine day and killed Indians (including at the iconic Taj hotel), they do the same for Afzal Guru, the terrorist who attacked the Indian parliament having received training in Pakistani camps, they cry intolerance when the China sponsored Maoists and their urban supporters are hauled to court because they  kill the poor, prevent development activity in tribal belts and even plan an assassination of the PM. Isn’t the attempt to equate the execution of Pakistani terrorist with the safeguarding of minorities’ interests and, by extension, secularism is to demean the Indian Muslims, as any sane-minded person will say.

Connect this with the contention of Shivam Vij, another media person of this genre in his post (Change the Conversation) last year – “To counter Hindutva, left-liberals need to focus on Caste. Nationalism, Secularism, Kashmir, Pakistan are only going to help saffron grow bigger.” Given that he is the former Associate Editor of Scroll, and later Deputy Editor of Huffington Post, the prejudiced anti-India and anti-secularism tone of these media portals is not surprising. In effect, even as the Indian society has been divided vertically through decades of appeasement policies, the focus in now on a horizontal division through caste. True secularism amounts to the rule of uniform civil code as per democratic principles but since this directly affects vote bank politics, the Left tries to keep the minorities conscious of their religion and scare them through a fake narrative. And this is where the issue of patriotism and nationalism comes in.

Simply put, the patriotism-nationalism debate is yet another narrative being generated by the Left, anti-India centrifugal forces and lastly, Modi-haters who can go to any extent even at the cost of India’s unity. Other Indians who are supporting it are either doing it for money, prejudice against Modi, or sheer ignorance.

The Oxford Dictionary defines BOTH Patriotism and Nationalism as “devotion to one’s country”. The latter is further amplified as “national aspiration”, and “support for national independence”.

All this is fine, but then the thesaurus goes on to add two more terms under Nationalism – Jingoism i.e. advocacy / practice of a bellicose foreign policy, and Xenophobia i.e. deep antipathy to foreigners or to foreign things.

So let’s take Jingoism. Do we have a bellicose foreign policy? China keeps us on our toes by its sheer volume. Pakistan, an apology of a nation, keeps us busy – even divided – through terrorism, Bangladesh treats us like a refugee camp, hostiles from Myanmar raid poor villagers across the border, their illegal migrants walk in and are courted by pseudo-secular parties who do religion-centric appeasement for vote banks. We are the ones who put up the fence, we are the ones who debate whether to throw out illegal immigrants. The ruling party – BJP – has a neutral and protective foreign policy, with no expansionist mindset. So who are we fooling?

Xenophobia? Really? India is a melting pot for all major ethnic groups ( Caucasians, Negroids, Mongoloids), all religions (crores of Gods and Godesses), and countless languages. We are masters of assimilation – we even have music and language born out of conflict; Sufi and Urdu. We do not selectively bar foreigners from legally entering India. Nor has the current government created a policy which discriminates against any group; even the Babri case is a five centuries old land case between Mughals and Nirmohi Akhara!

So exactly on which parameter are the self-professed but foreign-paid “intellectuals” fanning this debate? Obviously the model being referred to is Nazi Germany and the fascist persecution of Jews and they seek to equate it with BJP-ruled India and Muslims.

But this is not Nazi Germany. No one is persecuting Muslims in India. In fact they have been on the beneficiary end of decades of appeasement by the Left (remember the Congress’s dictum of the Seventies – “Till such time we have Ali i.e. minorities with a persecution complex, and Coolies i.e. poors living on sops in India, Congress can never lose”). The tactic used by Left-wing parties is to make Indian Muslims (or Christains) believe that they are different from the rest of Indians, to make them forget that they are themselves the real victims of foreign invasions, and to make them identify themselves with the invaders who forcibly converted their ancestors. For this, they have to be made to look outwards for moral guidance (Mecca and Rome), disregarding the assimilative hug of Indian culture. And this is where the issue of “toxic nationalism” is being used. No wonder that we have discussions on whether to stand up for the national anthem, or find the national song communal, or question throwing out illegal immigrants from Bangladeshi and Myanmarese (being Muslims), or support for clemency for a Pakistani terrorist just because he is a Muslim!

During the Modi interview in 2014, a known media Modi-baiter asked pointedly if Modi was a “Hindu Nationalist” and the latter nodded saying that since he was a Hindu and a Nationalist, the term was all right. But the term was used to scare the minorities both by the media and the Left.

However, as it turns out, Hindu Nationalist is no different from Nationalist Hindu.
