Hindus persecuted in Bangladesh

Around 4,000 incidents of violence against Hindus, who constitute less than 9% of Bangladesh's population, have been reported since 2013.At least 13 people were killed and 1,037 were injured in different incidents between 2013 and June 2022, alongside damage to households, businesses and temples, according to the rights group Ain O Salish Kendra.

Professor Abul Barakat of Dhaka University, in his 2016 book, said that there will not be any Hindu in Bangladesh after 30 years. He estimated that between 1964 and 2013, about 11.3 million of Hindus had left Bangladesh due to religious persecution and discrimination.

one of the most underreported cases of persistent ethnocide in the post-colonial period had certainly been with the Bengali Hindus of East Bengal. In terms of magnitude of brutality and spread on scale of time, it has hardly had any parallel in contemporary history.
