Arvind Kejriwal tries to deceive the farmers of Gujarat by promising that the Aam Aadmi Party government will give Minimum Support Price (MSP) on five crops in Gujarat like they’ve given the same to farmers of Punjab and Delhi. As usual, it is important to know the ground reality before falling for such white lies!
According to an RTI filed on September 09, 2022, the State Government of Delhi has not procured any agricultural produce in the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Narela. Moreover, there has been zero procurement of Rabi crops in Delhi since 2016-17 by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) at the minimum support price, said a research study conducted by the planning department under the Delhi government reports ET.
AAP had entertained similar promises in Punjab also but what is the situation there? Akali leader Daljit Singh Cheema alleged that “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had urged farmers to sow moong and promised to procure the entire crop on an MSP of Rs 7,250 per quintal but did not even procure ten per cent of this crop. The Punjab government has similarly failed to procure maize”. The game of fooling innocent farmers is a common strategy applied by AAP for their campaigns in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections. It becomes imperative to know the truth behind these bare lies and flowery promises made by Kejriwal.
