Upping its ante against the British Royal family, the Duchess of Sussex has now promised that she will return the Kohinoor to its rightful owners, that is India. “It is my way of trying to right the historical wrong,” she said.

Her promise to return the Kohinoor, taken away by the British East India Company and currently part of the British Crown Jewels, comes just hours after her announcement of joining the Indian nationalist party the Bharatiya Janata Party. She, along with her husband Prince Harry, will join the New York Branch of the BJP to contest the 2024 US presidential elections against Kamala Harris.

Speaking to OpIndia, Meghan said that she is appalled at the looting done by the British Royal family over the years and cannot wrap her head around the entitlement of the Royal Family.

However, sources in the Buckingham Palace claim that she is doing this out of spite for Her Majesty, the Queen. An eyewitness told OpIndia that when Queen Elizabeth saw Meghan Markle for the first time, she was shocked that Prince Harry chose one of the former slaves of the British Empire to wife. However, after she was informed that Meghan Markle was not an Indian by the farthest stretch of imagination, the Queen was relieved. “At least my Kohinoor will not go back to the dirty Indians,” the Queen had said.

However, now it seems that the Kohinoor is finally coming back to where it truly belongs.
