A feeling of love or pride for your own country,a felling that your country is better than any other”

this definition appears when you google “nationalism”. Love and pride for India was always there, but the extreme feeling for nations betterment was missing. Back to when RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) was found in 27 september 1925 their aim was to protect and propagate Indian tradition,civilization with Hindu nationalism.

This was first when “nationalism” comes to play, but unfortunately the different ideology of INC leads to suppressed it. INC ban RSS several times that shows that they always stood against RSS ideology of Hindu nationalism. INC always have soft corner for Muslim extremism. and also INC was doing minority politics that leads to foundation of BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) in 6 April 1980. This was the first time in Indian politics a party was found for hindu nationalism and it come well. Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan was a major event for rise of nationalism and it also benefits BJP. somewhere it leads in elections and first time BJP comes in power Atal Bihari Vajpayee become the prime minister of India. Increase in nationalism was started, this was first time when it seems Hindu majority can impact in nations politics.

Wave of Nationalism (2014)

You can call it wave but it was tsunami. Hindu nationalism was floating like a river in every Hindus hearts. Because it seems that after 800 years a Hindu was getting power in Delhi. Narendra Modi was next Prithvi Raj Chouhan. BJP wins 282 seats and got absolute majority and the journey begins. Step by step Modi’s government decision was clear towards nationalism aggression.

Hindu Nationalism (2019)

BJP wins with landslide victory. 303 seats and this term will be focus as Hindu nationalism peoples sentiment are with Modi which where suppressed by INC from 60 years.
