It has been a year since Arnab Goswami (Editor-in-Chief of republic media network) was arrested. On 4th of November 2020 at 7.45 in the morning, about 15 cops surrounded Arnab’s house with AK47s and about 25 surrounded the building with them. The cameras of the family were forcefully turned off. The Mumbai police thrashed, physically, and psychologically assaulted Arnab in front of his wife, in-laws, and child.

Arnab was dragged by the hair and not even allowed to wear his shoes. Arnab was prevented from giving his in-laws medicines, and his son was physically assaulted by them. Legal notes could not be obtained from them. Without a shred of evidence, they paraded India’s leading editor-in-chief as a criminal. Arnab was not served summons prior to the arrest when they promised on the court that they would do so three days prior.

As Arnab was being manhandled, amidst the ridiculous act, he said, “They hit me. They physically assaulted me. I want to tell the people of India to fight for us.” He said, “my son was beaten-up.”

A year has passed. Sachin Vaze, then Mumbai API, was arrested by the NIA on March 20 for placing explosives in the car, thereby invoking the UAPA against Vaze. He has been suspended again from the police force. He is now being held under police custody at Taloja jail. In his confession, he said that he was forced into arresting Arnab Goswami and was given money to do so by Deshmukh.

ED is currently investigating Deshmukh. He has been arrested and is being held for six days. He is also no longer the state’s home minister.

Parambir is in hiding as well. It was he who began the fake TRP case. He seems to be in Belgium. He was given a non-bailable warrant by the Mumbai police for his arrest.
