Indians are often reminded about the secularism. But, we need to understand the meaning of secularism then assess if India is really secular.

British govt considered the suggestion of making Hindi as more pragmatic and wanted to accept it in 1867, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan started opposing it and launched a campaign to make Urdu the second official language.

स्वतंत्र भारत में दो राष्ट्र का सिद्धांत

स्वतंत्र भारत में, कई मुस्लिम अभी भी दो राष्ट्र के सिद्धांत में उसी तरह विश्वास रखते हैं, जैसा कि जिन्ना द्वारा समझाया गया था। इसी के चलते वे अलग राष्ट्र नायकों, अलग ऐतिहासिक प्रेरणा स्रोत और अलग युद्धों में जीत का गौरव महसूस करना उन्होंने जारी रखा है जबकि ये राष्ट्रवादी गुण हैं और इन्हें किसी व्यक्तिगत मान्यताएँ, परंपराएँ और धार्मिक साहित्य के तौर पर नहीं देखा जा सकता है।

Two nation theory after independence

Two Nation Theory was the basis of partition of India. Partition was accepted based on the assumption that the Muslims staying back in India because they rejected the Two Nation theory. However, later decades proved that Two Nation Theory is not only subscribed by a large section of Indian Muslims but also being nourished by the appeasement politics.
