#WhyModiAgain?: If not, who else?

A laugh riot begins as we see this in top trend! I mean who else? Will we settle for a clown, a joker or a national embarrassment to lead our nation? Or will we pick one from the list of twenty-odd power-hungry vultures who have been fooling the people spitting venom against a visionary leader like Narendra Modi?

Take a close look at the history of all those aspiring prime ministers – they all have something or the other in common. First, many of them are dynasts with their only contribution to India being the heir to a minister some time back. Some of them are hoarders of public money for personal usage. And most of them are desperate to win the PM’s chair only because they can siphon out funds to their own account over the next few years little caring for a promising nation like ours to prosper.

History is witness to the fact that truth must face tougher tests to shine through whereas lies spread like wildfire, in the end, consuming its source as well. Things are not any different for a common man like Narendra Modi who has achieved his position only by dint of his hard work and nothing else. The ridicules he earns and the brickbats he garners for every good action he takes sometimes trigger questions like this: How will he withstand this? Will he not give up this time? But look, how effortlessly he takes everything in stride. Take for instance: demonetization. The positive effects of demonetization have never been so much hyped as its negative effects, thanks to a sole mainstream media. The only fact that there was a massive increase in the taxpayers due to demonetization is reason enough to give NaMo his due credit. Explore the rest when you have time.

Many rumour-mongers with their vendetta-driven narratives attack NaMo as a dictator maybe because they are not sued to listen to a firm voice of the Prime Minister except when he was responding meekly to the whims of the corrupt Congress’s Party President. But how true is that tag of ‘dictator’? You judge: NaMo’s able team has stalwarts like Piyush Gowel, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Arun Jaitley, Suresh Prabhu, to name a few. Now tell me who among these hasn’t a voice that’s a functioning democracy need? They all have excelled well in their fields. Now don’t be blind and don’t get into nitpicking only to prove this argument wrong.

Most importantly, look at the overall intent: it has been populist – of the people, by the people, and for the people. Direct money transfer to people’s account, definite steps to clean environment, complete electrification across the nation, fastest road layout, a tangible digital economy, better railway facilities, a firm Defence stand, and an enviable international stature – all these besides no government scam – what else do we ask for in a mere five-year term?

Let’s rest our allegiance for a while and get to weigh things on their intrinsic value. Let’s not judge NaMo on ‘what could have been’, as our expectations are always high. Let’s judge him on what he has done in so less time, despite a fierce, non-cooperative Opposition that mostly has bought or kept the mainstream media in its web, by God knows, what price. And when your conscience tells you that it is only NaMo and none else, take a deep breath and scream #NamoAgain in 2019.
