There is nothing new in the reappearance of some critic of Hinduism every now and then, this time fellow human (also a professor) Audrey Truschke’s name seems to be doing rounds again. While one of latest OpIndia news points out  while criticising expectations of Hindu rights groups, her scholarship would not mind celebrating support of some Islamic fundamentalist groups. Sans any job prospects for subject of Indology in Euromerica many times one wonders who subscribes those courses which seem to just having single point agenda of denigration of Hinduism and where do most of Indology students end up after completing those courses which have no connections with real life job prospects, moreover who funds those Indology departments in those capitalist countries where state would be usually reserved to fund from taxpayers money and expected to be very judicious, it is obvious professors of such departments have to fend themselves for continuation of grants donations and funding support.

It would not be a surprise then that the easiest way for them in general and Prof. Truschke’s style in particular to make issues of something tricky for common Hindu people and then keep capitalizing on any display of their disapproval. Any scholar groomed properly in any religious studies in general and Hinduism in particular would know, much more than any fellows of any other religion, exposure to religious philosophy of a common Hindu is much more indirect, a common Hindu usually picks up his religious guidance from religious stories told by elders or from media like drama and once in a while discourse with a family Guru, if at all. Obviously in such scenario many Hindu youth on social media are unaware of how to respond to the misrepresentation of their rich traditions and culture, many of this youth seem to resort to inappropriate trolling on social media, which in turn is used by these professors to their benefit to garner not only sympathy to their cause of denigrating Hinduism but also it increases their credibility in Hindu phobic and India Phobic circles and helps them tapping Hinduphobia and India Phobic sources of  funding and the vicious cycle continues.

So first of all, it is for Hindu youth to understand any usage of inappropriate language or inappropriate trolling is likely to benefit opponents of Hinduism more and not less. So the best strategy for a common Hindu would be to find a better scholar or some other person who can reply to critics in appropriate language and manners with proper knowledge of Hindu philosophy traditions and culture. At times one might need to wait for a while until some proper (Hindu) scholar turns up to reply, it is a job of patience. There is nothing appreciable in incessant manners of  Truschke & Et  al.; We very well know that they expect no one should insult them but they do have the birth right to  move on insulting and misrepresenting others, is a great rule of Truschke & Et al.. still I sincerely urge again to every Hindu brother and sister don’t lose hope, don’t get nervous, at times Hindu scholars will be slow to respond but we Hindus with strong tradition of scholarly debates  will keep making come back in pursuit of ‘Satymev Jayate’ every now and then.

Always remember there is nothing wrong, rather it is a duty to save your baby, your ‘Dharma’, the duty standing by righteousness of your traditions and culture! But one has to do it in the right way, with peace of mind of  ‘Satv Guna’ or at the most ‘Rajo Guna’ if the situation demands so but never with anger constituting ‘Tamo Guna’. Let us be confident of positive strengths of our Hindu religion most evolved of all religions, the maximum positivity towards any goodness is one of the less analysed and less talked but very important strengths of Hindu religions, but remember if one does not understand it well it can start working like a weakness causing disunity among Hindus. Right from first Hindu scripture we are told to welcome knowledge from all sides and another mahavakya that guides a Hindu’s life is ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ and third stand by your dharma i.e. standing by righteousness. What does everyone consider righteous can be a tricky area.

Hinduism is that way very democratic and allows everyone to make his own decision in what is righteous, and that is where some of your own Hindu Brothers sisters may end up believing in your opponents position itself as righteous, and that is how Hindus and Indians get surprised with kind of disunity they face among themselves. What is the (philosophical) solution? If you are a Hindu indirectly it is pertinent upon you to not have any breaks on maximum positivity goodness since you are not supposed to compromise easily with principles of righteousness, truth and Knowledge. So introspect yourself at the same time and audit others extensively so that they are not applying any breaks on principles of maximum goodness, and in all  my confidence and honest opinion there is no better way of addressing detractors of Hinduism and anti India forces.

Where any detractors of Hinduism and anti India forces are found applying any breaks to the principle of maximum positivity and maximum goodness, question them. When they put up questions to you, tell them confidently that Hinduism has been evolving towards more and more i.e. positivity, goodness, truth and knowledge since times of Rigveda, Hinduism evolved with Yama Yami dialogue in Rigveda, it evolved with Krishna, It evolved through twentieth century discarding casteism, we are always open to throw bath water but retaining baby is our rightful ‘Dharma’. Tell your detractors the core ideology of Hinduism is always open to evolution in the directions of maximum positivity and goodness, and ask them very much from a position of strength  where is your evolution?

Why do your philosophy and religion seem to have breaks on principle of maximum positivity and goodness, truth and knowledge? Hindus do have scriptures but those are open to evolution sans need for bibliography of any out of date rule books. Hindus are supposed to respect a cult of men only up to good values and moving on adapting new good values with time; ask Truschke & Et  al., I repeat, ask them, when they are going to  effectively question out of date and stagnated values of the cult of men and bibliolatry in other religions which keep preaching unnecessary hatred toward idolaters and nature worshipers or even unbelievers?
