When people believed in Narendra Modi and gave a bigger majority, Modi knew what was lying in front of him. After swearing in on 30 may 2019 with more support, he was fast into action. On July 30 2019, one month later age old discriminatory practice of Triple Talaq was made unconstitutional and punishable offence. One week later, on August 6, article 370 was abrogated and Jammu & Kashmir was reorganized with 2/3 majority in parliament.

Both the issues were long standing, discriminating women and needed a commitment from government. Rajiv Gandhi government has nullified supreme court judgement in favor of Muslim women against talaq. Even article 370 which was temporary was given almost a permanent status by congress. PM’s appeal of not to see Ayodhya Judgment from the prism of victory or defeat had an impact on every citizen. All above issues were accepted with calm. Previous governments added communal color to the issues, but people realized the facts and maintained peace.

When Modi became PM in 2014, Indian economy was in top 5 fragile economies, later India became the fastest growing & 5th largest economy. Amid global slowdown affecting India also in 2019, Modi in 2nd term has taken revolutionary steps like decreasing corporate tax to 22-25% on par with investment friendly countries like Singapore, merging banks, removing angel tax on startups, no surcharge on foreign portfolio investments (FPIs), less interest rates, disinvestment, etc.

Results are evident with FPIs at 22700 crores in November, Sensex &NIFTY reaching life time peaks. Hundred lakh crores to be spent on infra structure like highways by NHAI (National High Way Authority of India), rural roads by PM Grameen Sadakh Yojana (PM-GSY), municipal roads by Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Railways, Power projects, etc. With goal of housing for all, 1.95 crore houses to be built by 2022.

Government allotted 24,375 crores for establishing 75 government medical colleges pan India. As per supreme court orders 42000 crores loans recovered from Essar steels using Insolvency & Bankruptcy code and recovery of many such bad loans will follow soon. RBI will auction DHFL assets to recover 83000 crores.

Present government has allocated 1.78 lakh crores for agriculture & farmers welfare through PM -KISAN for 14.5 crores farmers, PM Fasal Bhima Yojana crop insurance for 5.61 crores farmers, PM-Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PM-KSY), green revolution, mechanization of farming, E- National Agricultural Market (E-NAM). Minimum Support Price has been increased to 109% by Market Intervention Scheme -Price Support Scheme (MIS-PSS). To support farmers, dairy &small traders government has taken brave decision of not joining RCEP.PM Shram Yogi Mandhan scheme (PM-SYM) provides pension to informal labor & small traders.

ESI via Atal Bimit Vyakthi Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY) will provide pension for private employees in job loss or health problems for 2 years. Government launched Jal Jeevan Mission with 3.5 lakh crores to promote water conservation, treatment, micro irrigation. Nal se Jal scheme is launched with goal of piped water supply to all. Inter linking of Rivers has been prioritized with 5.5 lakh crores budget. 47000 crores allotted to Compensatory Afforestation fund Management & Planning Authority (CAMPA) for improving forests & green cover. A target of 175 GW via green energy like solar, wind power set. Plastic use is discouraged & cleanliness encouraged.

Defense production target is set at 90,000 crores for indigenous production of equipment like combat aero crafts -Tejas, Long range missiles-Agni, with exports at 15,000 crores. 71,000 crores worth advanced defense equipment deals done and Rafale delivered. Robots to fight terror in Kashmir. The first decision of Modi 2.0 was to increase scholarship of children of martyrs. Annual budget of ISRO is increased to 12,473 crores encouraging projects & business.

The first tenure of Modi government witnessed overall development. In 5 years ranking of ease of doing business improved from 142 to 63, per capita income improved by 45%, FDI inflow at all time high, corruption ranking decreased from 95 in UPA era to 78, poverty decreased with 44 coming out of poverty line every minute. More than 34 crore bank accounts were opened under Jan Dhan Yojana. Under PMGSY 2 lakh rural roads were built increasing rural road connectivity from 55% in 2014 to 91% in 2019.

NHAI has built around 35000 kms highways with speed increasing from 11km per day in 2014 to 30 km per day in 2019. Around 1.5 crore houses were built for poor under PMAY. Startups tripled under Startup India scheme with 26 new startups a day. Under Mudra yojana 1.12 crores jobs were created in 3 years. Maternal mortality rate decreased by 27% from 167 per lakh in 2013 to 122 per lakh in 2017. ADIP scheme helped divyang by giving aids and appliances. Gas connections were provided to 8 crore poor by Ujwala scheme. Health benefits were provided to 10.74 crore families by Ayushman Bharath.

More than 9 crore toilets were built improving toilet accessibility to more than 95%. WHO praised Swachh Bharath program saying3 lakh infection related deaths were averted due to swachh Bharath. India’ s forex reserves reach a record high of 32 lakhs 17 thousand crore rupees. Under Ujala scheme 35 crores LED bulbs distributed saving 18,432 crores annually. In G20, only India is close to achieving 1.5-degree Celsius rise target.

“Nation first“ is the motto of this government. Here is a leader on a mission with a vision of all round inclusive development, climate protection, enhanced security and harmony. It is also the responsibility of every state & citizen to build a better New India.
