India’s win raises hopes for ICC Cup

As was being said about the prospect of Indian cricketers so was shown by them in the very first match. If South African’s Kagiso Rabada managed to show his bowling competence, Indian batsmen and bowlers were not lagging behind. Yuzuvendra Chahal and Rohit Sharma did full justice with the ball and the bat. The result was thumping six-wicket win at Rose Bowl in Southampton. The defeat was South Africa’s third on the trot in the ongoing 12th edition of ICC 2019 World Cup.

The 6-wicket approved their play of a stronger team. Now hopes are surely high with this latest result. Cricket is definitely a game of uncertainty. Anything can happen. This has been affirmed following victories put up by Bangladesh and Pakistan in its earlier matches, though both have also licked the taste of defeats too. It appears India team will have to continue its winning performance in its next encounter with Australia.  A vastly improved batting display by Rohit Sharma was a testimony to this factual reality. It was a major turnaround in the match from our side.

If Pakistan was negated by a barrage of bouncers against West Indies, of course, England followed the similar tactics with their attack by fast bowler Mark Wood. West Indian player Oshane Thomas brilliantly showed his bowling expertise while Chris Gayle on the batting front rained gale of fifty runs quickly. In fighting against South Africa, MS Dhoni stitched up a solid & important partnership with Rohit’s gusty above one hundred runs which eventually turned out to be game-changer for Virat Kohli & Co.

It remained his 23rd One-dayer ton off 128 deliveries leaving Saurav Ganguly behind. Sachin Tendulkar has also a record of more centuries for India. It was because of his responsible play India’s victory was in sight. Overjoyed with India’s performance the fans had to express: Is this the Hampshire Bowl or Wankhede in Mumbai? What was fantastic during the match was Quinto De Knock’s amazing catch from every angle. This was just incredible from him. The cricket fans still feel India and Pakistan should stand in the fighting row till the last in the match.
