The Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra’s hardly 7-minute talk/speech in Ahmedabad rally, outside her family bastions of Rae Bareli and Amethi was not at all appealing. For, it lacked charm, wit, oratory and substance (even more) which generally are found in an effective speech. It is not an exaggeration to say that an average Indian teen-ager, say 13,14 year-old boy/girl who is acquainted a little with Indian politics could speak much better than her. It was not expected from her that kind of bland speech for the hype and hoopla given by their tall old leaders and the Congress cadre. All pro-Congress media people hailed her speech saying that she raised bread-and-butter issues and the record of joblessness in 45 years. This is absolutely ridiculous. But for her dynastic background, nobody would have ever cared her speech even in her own elite, sycophant-circles.

To talk against a formidable opponent, you grope for issues. No one denies that there is unemployment in India. For the burgeoning population no government could ever produce adequately. It’s not to neutralise the job crisis scenario, however, the hyped-unemployment figure of the Congress is unbelievable. Unemployment has been the problem in India even in her grandmother’s (Indira Gandhi’s) time. The word “joblessness” is questionable. For, in India most of the eligible citizens have some job or the other to fend themselves with. The question arises about the quality of the job and also about whether the job is government or private, in the organized sector or unorganized sector etc. Had there been joblessness in record low position i.e. 45-year low record, Indians like Venezuelans would have been on the streets!

Of late, India has become the fastest growing economy in the world and is placed in the top-ranking, what for? If people go by Congress’s words, they will be duped. For, Congress has no strategy in place to provide jobs. By coming to power, they themselves want to get the top jobs of the country. BJP has been in power on its own only for 5-years. It’s legitimate for the people of the country to give another term for it to leverage and to fulfil the unfulfilled promises.

Priyanka Vadra’s often repeated love-theory is even more ridiculous. Anything should be shown in action not in words. When ex-prime minister Shri Manmohan Singh announced from Sharm El Sheikh that the (Muslim) minorities have the first right on Indian treasury/resources, where was the love for other communities (read Hindus)? Without the approval of the royal family, would he have spoken, what he had spoken? No way. Love is a two- way process. The BJP should seek apology from the Ex-PM Manmohan Singh for the statement he had made.

As far as ‘hate-theory’ she mentioned to cast aspersions on the ruling, one can say that Priyanka is far removed from the real -world. That kind of hatreds have been going-on in the world from the time of Mahabharata. Even now, in the developed world countries hatred is prevalent. Priyanka cannot single out India. There’s nothing wrong in condemning anything that is bad in the society. However, the person who condemns should not be a part of the party which had a history of being dictatorial and partisan. In fact it’s the social media that propagates hate-campaigns and it should be countered effectively. A ruling party cannot be held responsible for all the ills in the society. It’s not enough that the brother and sister say that they are the Messengers of Love. They have money, they have leisure, luxury and comfort whereas the other ordinary humans in the country are hand to mouth and are busy in minding their own work and not find time enough to mouth shibboleths like them.

The Congress from the time of Independence has been suppressing the other unsuitable-side of the coin, that is the ideology that goes against theirs with repression. It was indirectly censoring what was against them in a clever and intelligent way without soiling its hands. A kind of sophistication appreciated by the English-speaking so-called intellectual class of India! Now the tables have turned against the party and they are crying hoarse.

There is another ludicrous statement by Rahul Gandhi in the recent Chennai meeting. He attended an interactive meeting with the students at Stella Maris College for women on 13th March, in that he drew parallels between Robert Vadra and P.M Narendra Modi (who is an unparalleled leader). Rahul Gandhi said to the audiences, “I will be the first person to say it. Investigate Robert Vadra but also investigate Prime Minister Narendra Modi”. What kind of a statement! What a naivety! Who is he to grant permission to investigate Robert Vadra? He is already under investigation. With or without investigation, he is a culprit of fraudulent land deals in this country.

If Rahul Gandhi ascertains the property of Robert Vadra before marrying his sister and after the marriage, it will be clear to him. People of India know, investigations in high profile cases would not yield any quick result. As far as prime minister Modi is concerned, people know that he is incorruptible. Moreover, he is hassle-free unlike his brother-in-law who is trying to build empires for generations to come.
